There was a time not long ago that anyone burning a US Flag would have his butt handed to him... or any national sports team holding their fist in the air while kneeling as the national anthem played would have been kicked out of the league o so heavily fined th they would go bankrupt... Children used to get in fist fights over other students cutting down on our Nation... not today.
Public schools have been doing this for far longer than we realize; I was stunned, a few years ago, to discover my two adult daughters (now ages 59 and 62) are liberals!! So they graduated HS in 79 and 82. At the time, I did not have a clue. Thankfully, in 2014 and 2015, I was able to convince my teenaged grandson and granddaughter that a lot of what they were being taught was simply NOT truth , or fact. I still had an old set of Encyclopedia Americana to back me up! And no, we do not discuss politics as a family group. News, yes; politics, no.
Why????? It isn't taught in school, and in most homes. Foreigners coming to this country used to be thrilled about being in America, their children learned it from them. We all learned English, and being a majority Christian country brought us closer together also. The Muslims are bombarding this country, not to blend but to divide, to form clusters of their own where others aren't welcome. Other nationalities formed their own little areas as well, but they were happy to share their traditions, holidays and foods, we were proud of where we came from and we tried to share our culture with born Americans. While proud of our heritage, we stood and fought with and for America, Jews and Christians, there was never a doubt of out loyalty. That is not the case with Muslims, they cannot be trusted they like the democrats want to take over and rule! Now we have the great division of race too. Blacks want to be anything but American, their stupid kwanza, the idiotic concocted names, they are all celebrating Africa, the very continent that sold them into slavery, still has slavery, and they are hating the country that made them the most free, most equal anywhere in the world.
We are losing patriotism by design, ignorance, and neglect!
True and well-said. I grew up in an ethnically diverse area and people appreciated both the differences and the similarities in being grateful to be here, grateful for freedom and we were all united in patriotism and a Biblical world view.
Cultural Marxism has taken hold of our Public Schools, government, and cultural institutions... teaching a replacement history that portrays America as a failed colonial state... whose empire has starved the working class of its rightful share of the world's wealth and resources. Our children are being taught that America stole its wealth and murdered tens of millions by denying them their rightful share of the bounty of the earth.
Our Children are being taught to HATE AMERICA. and we are told to THANK A TEACHER...why thank those who are spreading this Marxist BS... we need to fire them.
The recent discussion concerning patriotism extensionally corroborates the validity of the title of the final chapter of the book I began writing in 2010, i.e., "Promoting Patriotism - The Critical Necessity and Urgency". It focuses on instilling within the minds of youths and young adults, a profound awareness and appreciation of the unmatched freedoms and opportunity they/we have as citizens compared to other nations, and that they/we must be willing to do whatever is neccessary to preserve and protect them or otherwise lose them.

Teachers are also under the hammer of Administration. Some may have complete autonomy in the classroom, but in schools where Admin is DEI, they do not. I am proof of that. Admin at the college level forces DEI, pronouns down our throats, keeps track of who fully participates in it, as we all have to write Faculty Performance Reviews. These determine Merit Awards. Faculty who do not, do not receive Merit and instead, will be offered early retirement, or literally forced out. It does happen. Departments in my college were guilty of lowering standards on tests in order to achieve "higher literacy" awards in our largely Appalachian populated communities.
