Go For Broke

Shortly after King George III declared an end to cessations in the United in early 1873, and the signing of The Treaty of Paris on September 3, 1783 ( The ACTUAL independence Day of this great country), The President and Congress were faced with the very same situation before us today. National debt.  The war had ended and the nation was on the verge of bankruptcy as we owed France for it's support. In the early days of America there was no debt ceiling, yet Congress paid off it's debt. So why can today's congress not do the same?  Congress will continue to spend more than revenue if we the people allow the ceiling to be continually raised. If there is no raise then they would have no choice but to balance a budget to where they can pay it off. It is absurd to ever think that the United States would go bankrupt if the ceiling were not raised. Again, research the history.

The real solution is to lower the corporate tax rate to 15 percent. Most individuals do not understand the companies "outsource" to countries such as Canada, Ireland, Austria and so forth to pay the cheaper tax rates. Numerous corporation owners have stated publicly that they would invest it here if the tax rate were more reasonable. Go figure. Even if Congress lowered the rate to 5 percent, that's a 5 percent increase in revenue as opposed to the current zero percent. Not only would they pay into the revenue, employees from the new jobs created would also contribute.

Some final food for thought. How is it that political parties can amass billions in financial campaign chests

combined only to cry that there is no money to pay off an ever growing National debt?

NO DEBT CEILING INCREASE UNTIL THE NATIONAL DEBT IS UNDER CONTROL!

To tax or not to tax?

I have not posted in few days, I'm doing some research on a future subject. I need the facts from the source first as I do not take the word of others as the entire truth, they are usually only one's opinion. but that's another story.

I live in southwestern Pennsylvania. As an individual who has his eyes wide open seeing what most overlook, I have seen the end of the steel boom, the near end of the coal era and the loss of countless manufacturing jobs. These jobs did not just close down they moved elsewhere. Some right across the state line. I'll use the steel industry as an example since it is associated with the Pittsburgh area. The first act of the downward spiral began at the end of the Vietnam war with the mills profit being sent overseas to modernize the Japanese and other Pacific rim nations foundries. We fail to keep pace here. Next came the NAFTA and WTO treaties with these countries opening the door for the return of the same steel we funded, although it id definitely inferior to that made in the United States (I work with it, I know this as fact). In the nineties came the taxes, driving those still in the U.S. to other states such as Birmingham, Alabama and Upstate New York. And shortly after came your friend and mine, the EPA. Al Gore closed down the last coke mill because it was too expensive to modernize it to their standards. He was in Cairton, flanked by the EPA officials when it was announced.

Today, in this area there is a new job boom. Natural gas. They have been drilling hundreds of wells, if not in the thousands, for a little over two years. There are four within two miles of myself the closest being four hundred yards. Within the past six months the local media has been slamming these companies with false and half truths such as chemical contamination of the water, air pollution, well damage from fracturing (this one burns my ass the most. I have a well. Natural gas deposits are at 14,000 feet plus. The water table is around 100 to 1,000 feet. Simple mathematics will prove that fracturing can not harm the water table. I wonder, did they taste natural gas in the water before drilling began?... my apology for the rant). The politicians in Harrisburg are now considering a new tax on these drilling companies. Now here is the part where I see what most do not. There is a little country convenience store about three miles from me. It's a rural area so you can guess the population and business this does. Since these drillers have came in, business has tripled at the very least. They buy from the Subway, they buy their coffee, soda, snacks and what not. They buy lots of diesel fuel for their equipment. And this is all state taxed! Several young people have been hired to accommodate the increased business. My road is a township road, meaning no state or federal funding for it. In the past it was tarred and chipped maybe three times in the past 27 years. These companies paved it wider with asphalt, from their own pocket none the less. Also, everywhere I look in the small town of Washington I see vehicle plates from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas and Louisiana. They buy from the local businesses and stay in the local motels. Again, more taxes for the area and state. The roads they construct through the woods, local companies. The trees they cut, local companies. The fitting of the rigs and structural work, local companies. The only thing the gas company does is drill.

So, to tax or not to tax? The real question should be, How soon before the liberal EPA clamps down with new regulation?

What say you? I would like to know.

Keep the faith, light the fire and support the troops!

Change the course

It has been said again and again. Not only was the past election a wake up call to those elite few in Washington, DC that We the People are a force to be taken seriously, this should also be our wake up call. The Tea Party movement is disorganized with the numerous sites listed when one does a search on the internet. This site seems to be the best of the, from the others I have visited prior to joining. What we need is to consolidate some of these other sites to form one central location. This must start with one true leader amongst us, one with the strength and charisma to unite us all. I do not yet know whom that may be, but it must be done. We held the royalty's feet to the fire as individuals, now we must become one. Perhaps if we form our own political party? A party where we choose one of our own, with all of the original values of the great nation, to take back what was once a government of the people.

My personal gripes about the current government?

1. The national debt. Congress, according to the Constitution of the United States, controls spending, taxes
and currency. Pay your bill!!!
2. Rewarding privately owned companies for failure. General Motors, Chysler, Goldman-Sacks, AIG, ect should
have fired those incompetent executives, not ask the tax payers to bail them out. And congress, passing this
nonsense on behalf of the people, should have known better. I guess they are getting it now.
3.The economy. There is a half truth thrown around by these politicians from time to time. Particularly during a campaign to gain votes. Out sourcing or sending jobs overseas. These phrases cross the lips of the individuals
who have raised taxes and placed undue restrictions on business. To a company owner taxes are an expense.
This is why they move elsewhere. And the shame of it all? This was once a country where if you worked hard
to succeed you were rewarded. Today that reward becomes the property of the government in the form of high
taxes.

One last thing, an overlooked fact. Prior the the Declaration King George only had one tax on the people of this
nation. Tea. And we started a revolution over just one.
