{ prageru.com } ~ It may surprise you to learn that the United States fought two wars for its independence. Both were fought against the British, and in each case... the Americans were expected to lose. The first, of course, was the Revolutionary War. Can you name the second? In this week's video, author Brian Kilmeade sheds light on the largely and unfortunately overlooked War of 1812. Kilmeade explains how this war got started, the daunting odds against a nation in its infancy, and the unlikely hero who secured America's future by pulling off one of the greatest upsets in military history.   https://www.prageru.com/videos/americas-2nd-war-independence.
Smug Comrades Blitzer, Panetta
Attack Gohmert for Exposing Mueller's Islamist Enabler Past
{ rickwells.us } ~ One of the most blatantly dishonest propagandists for the anti-America left is CNN’s mongrel, Wolf Blitzer... Rather than actually taking the time to watch, research and then report accurately on a Judicial Watch interview with Congressman Louie Gohmert, in which he raises some but far from all of the integrity issues of Robert Mueller, Blitzer does as he always does and ignores the truth. His mission is to provide the setting for CNN’s political opposition, the conservative Republican, to be discredited and ridiculed for telling the truth about liar-nObama henchman Robert Mueller. Blitzer  wrings his hands and cries over the outrage that Gohmert would dare to have anything other than praise for the COUP point man and that he should be punished by Congress for not being on his knees worshiping him. In the typical partisan cheerleading and distortion that passes for news at CNN, Blitzer said to his guest and fellow political hack, Leon Panetta, “The President’s allies, clearly they’re ramping up their attacks on Robert Mueller,” as he plays a clip from the twenty minute interview...

{ freebeacon.com } ~ Congress is ordering the Pentagon to immediately begin construction of space-based missile interceptors to counter increasing threats from North Korea, Iran, and other countries... with advanced missile technology, according to new legislation viewed by the Washington Free Beacon. The space-based interceptor program—a plan for the United States to deploy satellites into space capable of destroying ballistic missiles before they even take flight—has been on ice for years due to repeated delays by the Pentagon. Congressional frustration over the issue has been mounting for some time, leading Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, to push a new legislative measure to cut through the red tape and order the Pentagon to immediately begin construction on the advanced missile defense system...   http://freebeacon.com/national-security/congress-directs-immediate-weaponization-space-block-missile-strikes/?utm_source=Freedom+Mail&utm_campaign=b0292edc01-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2018_05_25_07_29_COPY_02&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_b5e6e0e9ea-b0292edc01-45611665

Canada: A "Different" Kind of Antisemitism?

{ gatestoneinstitute.org } ~ In Berlin, on evening of the May 17, 2018, two men wearing Jewish skull caps were attacked by three Arabic speaking men... who repeatedly cursed at them and called them "yahudi," Jew, in Arabic. One of the Arabs knifed one of the men, Adam Armoush, with his belt. The attack was recorded, and the video widely seen. Ironically, Adam is not a Jew. He is an Israeli Arab, who was wearing the skull cap to test whether it was unsafe to show oneself as a Jew in Berlin. He was skeptical; he has now reconsidered. One of the assailants, a 19 year old refugee, claiming he was from Syria, later turned himself into the police. In response to the attack, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that she was saddened, and that it was depressing that antisemitism had not been destroyed for good in Germany. There were, in fact, more than 1,000 antisemitic incidents in Berlin last year alone. Merkel pointed out that, in addition to some traditional German antisemitism remaining, "We have a new phenomenon of refugees or people of Arab origin who bring another form of anti-Semitism into the country."...

Jarrett and liar-nObama are Behind Spygate

{ americanthinker.com } ~ Unless we assume the FBI went completely rogue, it is inconceivable that the deployments of personnel to spy on the Trump campaign... and make provocative contact with its lesser members could have occurred without the full knowledge and control of the occupants of the Oval Office. liar-nObama may claim a scandal-free administration, but after Fast and Furious, the targeting of the Tea Party by the IRS, the Benghazi cover-up, liar-Hillary's emails, to name a few, Spygate is just the latest. I use the plural "occupants" because while Barack Hussein liar-nObama may have been nominally the president of the United States, at the heart of every one of these scandals and virtually every administration move was Valerie Jarrett, who arguably could be considered our first female president. Jarrett, born in Iran to American parents, has been with the liar-nObamas since her days as deputy chief of staff in the office of Chicago mayor Richard Daley, the younger. She hired Michelle liar-nObama, then Michelle Robinson, to fill an opening in the mayor's office.  As WikiLeaks describes the beginning of a long relationship citations omitted...
Pulosi and Dems Desperate for Int'l Failure,
Ridicule, Appeasement of liar-nObama to Return
{ rickwells.us } ~ Stuart Varney can barely conceal his disgust for the America-hating Democrats, Nancy Pulosi in particular... as she pounces prematurely on the situation with North Korea, hoping that it evolves into a political embarrassment for President Trump and doing everything within her power to make certain that it does.  Ultimately she not only fails in doing so, but exposes herself once again as an opportunistic political hack who cares nothing about the United States and everything about advancing her political party and their globalist agenda. Varney notes that when the news broke that President Trump had called off the summit with North Korea, “within minutes Nancy Pulosi  reacted. She said Kim would have a giggle fit, that he had won, that the President didn’t know what he was doing.”...Pulosi should never be in congress or in polities.

by Laura Hollis
{ jewishworldreview.com } ~ The Electoral College is being challenged as an anachronism. These complaints have largely been prompted by the 2000 and 2016 presidential elections; in both, the victor won by garnering the requisite number of electoral votes, despite losing the national "popular vote." That has happened only five times in the nation's history: 1824, 1876, 1888, 2000 and 2016.

The race between George W. Bush and Al Gore in 2000 produced painstaking recounts in the state of Florida, a Supreme Court opinion and entry of the term "hanging chad" into the national lexicon. But when all was said and done, George W. Bush had won the state of Florida — albeit by only 537 votes — taking Florida's 25 electoral votes and winning the presidency. Only five electoral votes separated Bush's 271 from scum-Gore's 266.

If Democrats and other left-leaning voters were angry about the 2000 election, they were apoplectic when Donald Trump beat liar-Hillary Clinton in 2016. Trump won the Electoral College handily, receiving 306 electoral votes to Clinton's 232, despite Clinton receiving a larger portion of the popular vote: 65.8 million votes to Trump's 62.9 million.

The ire is grounded in a fundamental misunderstanding of the Constitution, and the role of Electoral College in electing the president. The Constitution is structured to mitigate the effects of pure democracy — which always favors the majority — with procedures that protect minority or underrepresented voices.

Take Congress, for example. The House of Representatives and the Senate are structured differently. The number of representatives each state has is a function of the state's population; the larger the population, the greater the number of representatives. California, our most populous state, sends 53 representatives to the House. Wyoming, our least populous state, has only one. The Senate, on the other hand, consists of 100 elected senators — two from each state, regardless of its population.

And why is this?

The answer is balance. The structure of the Senate is intended to offset the majoritarian effect of the House of Representatives, and to ensure that states with smaller populations get an equal voice in the federal legislative process.

So it is with the Electoral College. By assigning electors and their votes to the candidate who wins the most votes in any given state, the Constitution establishes a system that elevates the impact of smaller, less populous states, and creates an incentive for presidential candidates to cultivate the support of the residents of those states.

As the Electoral College is in the U.S. Constitution, eliminating it outright would require amending the Constitution. An amendment to the Constitution requires the support of two-thirds of both the House and Senate or a Convention of States, followed by ratification of any such amendment by three-quarters of the states' legislatures (38 states). This is no mean feat; the Constitution has only been amended 27 times in 229 years.

However, efforts are afoot to eviscerate the Electoral College without amending the Constitution.

Specifically, the National Popular Vote initiative seeks to get enough state legislatures to pass a law whereby the state's electoral votes will go to the winner of the popular vote nationally, regardless of the results in that particular state. Connecticut is the latest state to have joined the compact, passing such a law this month.

Here's how this works: Let's say that Smith and Jones are running for president in 2020. Smith wins in Connecticut. But Jones gets more actual votes across the country. Connecticut's 7 electoral votes would go, therefore, not to Smith - for whom a majority of Connecticut voters voted - but to Jones.

Unlike the process of amending the Constitution, the National Popular Vote compact only requires enough states to hit the magic number of 270 electoral votes. At present, the compact has 172 dedicated electoral votes from the 11 states which have enacted the law: California (55), New York (29), Illinois (20), New Jersey (14), Washington (12), Massachusetts (11), Maryland (10), Connecticut (7), Rhode Island (4), Hawaii (4), Vermont (3) and the District of Columbia (3).

This compact is being touted by its supporters as being more "fair" than the current system. It is no such thing. Such a law effectively disenfranchises the voters of the states that pass it, in favor of large, highly populated states like California, New York and Illinois. In both the 2000 and 2016 elections, the popular vote majorities were established by virtue of voters in California alone. One state, therefore, out of 50, would have effectively determined the outcome of the presidential election under the National Popular Vote compact. A presidential candidate can safely ignore less populous states which have passed such a law, knowing that their electoral votes will go to the winner of California, New York and Illinois.

It is no coincidence that the 11 states where the compact has passed are Democratic strongholds where liar-Hillary Clinton won in 2016; they are still bruised and seething from her loss to Trump.

But it is no more "fair" to hand over your state's electoral votes to the winners of states like California or Illinois, than it would be to demand that the structure of the U.S. Senate be changed so that more populous states have more senators than less populated ones. Both tactics would undermine the balance of power that is the cornerstone of the Constitution, and render smaller, more rural states effectively voiceless in national government.

The National Popular Vote compact is an underhanded way to gut the Constitution without amending it, and to disenfranchise large swaths of the American electorate. It should be opposed.

DOJ Stonewalling to Hide Evidence -
Trump Must Pull Clearances from Coup Crew
{ rickwells.us } ~ In describing the FBI, President Trump said, “FBI is great. I know so many people in the FBI... The FBI is a fantastic institution but some of the people at the top were rotten apples. James Comey was one of them. I’ve done a great service for this country by getting rid of him, by firing him.” Judge Jeanine asks her guest, Tammy Bruce, why it’s taking so long to get information from the DOJ and if we’ll ever get it. Bruce lays it out plainly, as she usually does, saying, “Well look, they’re stonewalling everyone, because there’s something to hide. That’s normally why you don’t hand over something when you’re supposed to be the morally superior framework, you do that when you want to hide something.” She notes how comfortable President Trump appears in the interview, reminding the audience that “every single prediction he’s made has come true, including one of the earliest ones where he declared that his campaign was being spied on. He was mocked, he was ridiculed, clearly note now that has been confirmed. So people are underestimating the President. When he says something like that, you should believe him.”...

{ theintercept.com } ~ Tokyo’s Ichigaya district, about three miles northeast of the bright neon lights and swarming crowds in the heart of Shibuya... a driver quietly parks a black sedan-style car outside a gray office building. Before setting off on a short, 10-minute drive south, he picks up a passenger who is carrying an important package: top-secret intelligence reports, destined for the desks of the prime minister’s closest advisers. Known only as “C1,” the office building is located inside a high-security compound that houses Japan’s Ministry of Defense. But it is not an ordinary military facility – it is a secret spy agency headquarters for the Directorate for Signals Intelligence, Japan’s version of the National Security Agency. The directorate has a history that dates back to the 1950s; its role is to eavesdrop on communications. But its operations remain so highly classified that the Japanese government has disclosed little about its work – even the location of its headquarters. Most Japanese officials, except for a select few of the prime minister’s inner circle, are kept in the dark about the directorate’s activities, which are regulated by a limited legal framework and not subject to any independent oversight...

{ theintercept.com } ~ TOWARD THE END of last year, as the Islamic State was collapsing in Iraq and Syria... a 17-year-old Texas high school student named Matin Azizi-Yarand began an online conversation. He had found a fellow traveler on the internet, and was hashing out whether to leave the United States to join ISIS abroad or carry out an attack in their name at home. “When the time akhi comes I want you to come down here // if you are willing that is // just need some more planning,” Azizi-Yarand said in a series of messages sent on December 25. A few weeks later, Azizi-Yarand told another individual whom he had met online about his plans to try to leave the country with others. Using the Arabic term “hijrah,” or migration, he told them, “me and others are planning // either hijrah or here // We are hoping for hijrah In sha Allah // we just need the funds.” Unbeknownst to Azizi-Yarand, both of his interlocutors were working for the government. One was an informant and another an undercover FBI agent. Another online acquaintance, with whom Azizi-Yarand had struck up a conversation in March, turned out to be an informant as well. Judicial Watch Battles FBI for Anti-Trumper Text Messages
judicialwatch.org } ~ Here is a sliver of good news in our efforts to find out the truth about the extent of corruption infecting the senior ranks of the FBI... specifically in our lawsuit to get documents about “anti-Trump” senior FBI officials Lisa Page and Peter Strzok. Our legal team was just informed by the Justice Department that, “the FBI plans to send letters to Peter Strzok and Lisa Page asking them to preserve agency records on their personal accounts and personal devices and requesting confirmation that they are doing so.” We made the preservation request to the FBI as part of our Freedom of Information (FOIA) lawsuit for records of the two current and former FBI officials. Page recently retired, but Mr. Strzok is still at the FBI. We’re glad the FBI reversed course. On May 2, the FBI wrote a letter to Senator Grassley saying it had not requested information from the personal email accounts of Strzok and Page.

Why China's Belt and Road Initiative Matters

While the story definitely merits significant attention, there is another important development in the region that seems to be capturing more and more coverage and has the potential of not only affecting the political and economic stability of the Far East but the whole world.

Ever since it was announced over five years ago, the Belt and Road Initiative (B&R) has turned into a multi-trillion-dollar bet by Xi Jinping’s regime that it can shake up the world economic order while simultaneously gaining influence in East Asia, Europe, Middle East and Africa. Recently heralded by a Chinese government official as a program that, “promote(s) a balanced and sustainable global growth” the B&R continues to gain momentum as the 21st century Silk Road.
While some advocates of the program, especially key United Nations leaders, have been vocal in their support of the Chinese plan, the facts are starting to show that the B&R is having major problems and Western democracies, primarily the United States, are missing the opportunity to capitalize on the Chinese government’s poor decision-making, both economically and diplomatically.
In the latest issue of Foreign Affairs magazine, a trio of writers argue that Western banking institutions need to seize the opportunity to work with countries that want to develop internal infrastructure instead of ceding the business to the Chinese government. The current “hands off” approach being implemented by Western lending institutions has enabled Chinese banks to fill the gap and, in the process, laid the groundwork for predatory lending practices being implemented by Beijing.
It’s no secret that China is hungry to play an expanding role on the world stage and is willing to spend massive amounts of capital in the process. Jinping’s government is an aggressive adversary of the United States when it comes to implementing economic policy and the B&R campaign is a well-laid plan to exert dominance in that realm. Examples abound of China’s desire to unseat the United States economically, whether it be vaulting to number one as the world’s largest exporter of oil or the city of Shenzhen rapidly becoming a near peer to Silicon Valley in the tech sector.
Understanding this dynamic is critical if the United States wants to maintain its role as the dominate global hegemon. Rather than focus on short-term solutions against China, like tariffs, the current administration needs to focus on developing and implementing long-term economic and diplomatic policies that will not only benefit the United States but also the country where the project is located. President Trump knows better than anyone in the federal government the importance of developing infrastructure, both domestically and internationally. His administration, in concert with our allies, must work with developing nations wanting to create new projects or run the risk of seeing them partner with China. A failure to do this not only puts the United States at risk but the rest of the world as well.   ~The Patriot Pos

Another attempt by Congress to force obstructionist deep state cover man Jeff Sessions to do his job as Attorney General of the United States... and allow justice to be served on liar-Hillary Clinton and the corrupt liar-nObama Mafia is ramping up. Why he and Rod Rosenstein remain in their positions, given their corruption and complete disregard for the rule of law is anybody’s guess but nothing positive is likely to happen as long as they are. We’ll get a combination of staged shows presented for public consumption and genuine efforts, and then DOJ will ultimately refuse to allow the process to advance. Two House committees, Judiciary and Oversight and Reform are probing FBI conduct in the liar-Clinton email case, with three witnesses scheduled to provide testimony in June. by GEORGE NEUMAYR
{ spectator.org } ~ Even before the first Republican primary, a London-to-Langley spy ring had begun to form against Donald Trump... British spies sent to CIA director John Brennan in late 2015 alleged intelligence on contacts between Trumpworld and the Russians, according to the Guardian. Here’s the crucial paragraph in the story: GCHQ first became aware in late 2015 of suspicious “interactions” between figures connected to Trump and known or suspected Russian agents, a source close to UK intelligence said. This intelligence was passed to the US as part of a routine exchange of information, they added. Notice it doesn’t say the “Trump campaign” but “figures connected to Trump.” One of those figures was Michael Flynn, who didn’t join the campaign until February 2016. But Brennan and British intelligence had already started spying on him, drawing upon sham intelligence from Stefan Halper, a long-in-the-tooth CIA asset teaching at Cambridge University whom Brennan and Jim Comey would later send to infiltrate the Trump campaign’s ranks...

It’s about time. On Sunday the president tweeted that he will instruct the DOJ to investigate whether the FBI/DOJ “infiltrated or surveilled the Trump campaign for political purposes.” The last three words are key, because we already know the Trump campaign was under FBI "surveillance." { spectator.org } ~ Anyone with the intestinal fortitude to subject themselves to the legacy media will have seen countless “news” stories about the devastation wrought by President Trump’s “sabotage” of liar-nObamacare... A typical headline appeared a couple of weeks ago in the Washington Post: “Americans are starting to suffer from Trump’s health-care sabotage.” This work of fiction claimed that the number of working-age Americans without health insurance had risen to 15.5 percent, a 3 point increase since 2016. But a report just released by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC),  says the real number is 12.8 percent — exactly what it was in 2015. ThePost story used a phony number cooked up by a left-leaning think tank to produce a transparently false narrative about the effect of the President’s policies on the “Affordable Care Act.” And the Bezos Post is by no means unique in its desire to deceive the public. NBC recently reported that the total number of uninsured Americans rose by a preposterous 3.2 million in 2017. According to the CDC, however, “There was no significant change from the 2016 uninsured rate.” The percentage is, like the working age statistic, precisely what it was in 2015. by Political Editors:  One of President Donald Trump’s campaign promises that he has been most successful in accomplishing is slashing onerous and unnecessary federal regulations. He promised to cut two regulations for every new one added. Wayne Crews of the Competitive Enterprise Institute recently calculated the ratio of regulations cut to those added and found that, from the fall of 2017 to spring of 2018, Trump’s rate of deregulation had not only met his 2-to-1 pledge but surpassed it by the rate of 4-to-1. He currently sits at an impressive 5-to-1.

This aggressive deregulation amounted to a regulatory cost cut of $6 billion in 2017, and this year it’s estimated that Trump’s effort will ease Americans’ regulatory burden by another $10 billion. While $10 billion is small savings compared to the recent $300 billion omnibus bill, it’s certainly a step in the right direction. As James Freeman of The Wall Street Journal notes, “How beautiful is Mr. Trump’s $6 billion cut in year one in the regulatory costs imposed by Washington on the U.S. economy? It depends on how you look at it. It is certainly a remarkable and welcome change from his predecessor, who in eight years increased the regulatory burden by some $600 billion.”
In spite of stiff resistance from the Washington swamp and the Leftmedia, Trump has been able to succeed where many previous politicians have failed. And he’s carrying out the agenda he campaigned on. Americans benefiting from a growing economy are thanking him for it.   ~The Patriot Pos

Another House Probe Into liar-Clinton
and FBI Just Means More Sessions Cover Up
{ rickwells.us } ~ Here we go again. The first is a former supervisor of Peter Strzok. Judiciary Chairman Goodlatte stated the purpose of the hearings as, “We want to know why it is that the FBI was handling these two different matters in such extremely different ways.”...   https://rickwells.us/probe-clinton-fbi-sessions-cover/
The London-to-Langley Spy Ring

{ spectator.org } ~ Even before the first Republican primary, a London-to-Langley spy ring had begun to form against Donald Trump... British spies sent to CIA director John Brennan in late 2015 alleged intelligence on contacts between Trumpworld and the Russians, according to the Guardian. { dailysignal.com } ~ The Pennsylvania Supreme Court issued a ruling in February establishing new congressional voting districts for the state’s residents... That ruling abolished the voting districts established by the state Legislature in 2011. Why? The justices felt the 2011 districts were political gerrymandering and discriminated against Democrats. Of course, the elected Pennsylvania Supreme Court justices are mostly Democrats. This usurpation of a legislative function should be considered dangerous, regardless of one’s political affiliation. It was a concern of the Founding Fathers. Ironically, it was Elbridge Gerry—after whom the word “gerrymandering” was created and who was a Massachusetts delegate to the Constitutional Convention of 1787—who warned about judicial imposition. He voiced his concern about the “sophistry of the judges.”...

{ frontpagemag.com } ~ Robert Mueller’s criminal probe of President Donald Trump, his associates and the Trump campaign has passed the 1-year benchmark... and the DOJ-appointed special counsel is no closer to proving Russian collusion or obstruction of justice than when he first commenced his investigation. What Mueller has succeeded in doing is wasting in excess of $20 million in taxpayer money. Actually, Mueller’s investigation may not have been a complete waste for it inadvertently succeeded in exposing the rot and sewage of the deep state. Thus far, five FBI and DOJ officials involved with Mueller and his McCarthy-like witch hunt have been fired or demoted. More demotions, terminations and possible criminal indictments of officials at the highest levels are expected as more of what has hitherto been unknown is unearthed through the efforts of Congress and NGOs like Judicial Watch. The latest disgrace to hit the deep state is the revelation of an anti-Trump spy ring run out of CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia under the stewardship of former CIA director and party hack, John Brennan, in the hope of entrapping Trump campaign staffers and advisers. James Comey and James Clapper, the former directors of the FBI and National Intelligence respectively, also played their roles in this nefarious scheme. Add to this the disclosure of egregious government FISA and unmasking abuses under the liar-nObama administration and you have the makings of the biggest and most consequential political scandal in United States history. Watergate will look like child’s play by comparison...Another waste of taxes money.

As Townhall’s Matt Vespa opines, far-left candidates have been making “a meal of the establishment, knocking off the more centrist candidates in primaries across the country.” While Democratic enthusiasm appears to have stalled according to some polling, it was not apparent in this month’s primaries. There were historic numbers of Democratic voters turning out in Idaho and Pennsylvania, the latter of which is key in the Left’s road to retaking the House.  May 15 “was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day for Democratic moderates,” according to the Washington Post...

Lefty Anti-Semitism is a Serious
Problem With a Long History
by Daniel Greenfield

sultanknish.blogspot.com } ~ When D.C. Councilmember Trayon White came under fire for blaming Jews for controlling the weather, dumping a Holocaust Museum tour and donating to an anti-Semitic Nation of Islam event, the loudest voice in his defense came once again from the Working Families Party. The WFP is a spinoff of ACORN.

Rafael Shimunov, the WFP’s Creative Director, claimed that each exhibit of the Holocaust Museum was a “new trap” as the "under educated Black man was followed by rich white people waiting for him to say something offensive." Shimunov, a member of the anti-Israel hate group If Not Now, had previously also defended scum-Keith Ellison and Linda Sarsour over their own anti-Semitic comments and history.

White isn't an "under educated Black man" victimized by the Holocaust Museum's exhibit “trap.” He has an MA in Public Administration and a BA in Business Administration. He’s a bigot. Not a victim.

But why would a senior figure in the WFP waste his time defending Trayon White’s anti-Semitism?

Before Trayon White made headlines for his bizarre claims of Jewish weather control, he had been backed by lefty activist groups that are political allies of the WFP. White had been endorsed by D.C. for Democracy along with other anti-incumbent insurgents. He also received the backing of Jews United for Justice. There aren’t a whole lot of Jews in Trayon’s district, but, despite its name, JUFJ isn’t really a Jewish group. Like the WFP, it’s a scum-Soros organization. And it kept trying to cover for Trayon.

But this sort of thing keeps happening to the Working Families Party.

Laurie Cumbo, a WFP endorsed New York City Council candidate, explained black anti-Semitic violence by claiming that Jews with "bags of money" were trying to force black people out.

"We don’t want to ruin the lives of young people who are too young to understand," she said, of the attackers.

In early April, New York State Assemblywoman Diana Richardson allegedly made some nasty remarks about Jews. Richardson was the WFP's candidate. And its first big State Assembly win. The Jewish Press called on Richardson to resign. And I reached out to figures within the WFP to ask them to condemn her bigotry. There was no response. The WFP doesn’t condemn anti-Semitism. Instead it defends it.

Linda Sarsour had praised Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam. She even defended Farrakhan against accusations of anti-Semitism from, what she called, the “Jewish media.” Her efforts to marginalize Jews, celebrating stone throwing against Jews and BDS activism were met with Jewish protests. Four top WFP officials, Dan Cantor, its National Director, Joe Dinkin, its National Communications Director, and Bill Lipton, its New York State Director, signed a letter defending her.

Cantor and the WFP have also been enthusiastic proponents of scum-Keith Ellison even though the longtime former Nation of Islam member had a very ugly history of anti-Semitism. The Minnesota Daily opinion editor, Michael Olenick, had even described Ellison’s writing as "a genuine threat to the long-term safety and well-being of the Jewish people." But that wasn’t a problem for the Working Families Party.

And these incidents keep popping up around the WFP and its candidates.

Some years ago one of the WFP’s field directors had to be fired from a state campaign over social media ugliness aimed at Israel. Next month, the Party pulled its support for the candidate’s campaign.

The WFP operates on the margins of the far left. And its candidates, like Cynthia Nixon, its pick for New York governor, who signed a BDS petition by the anti-Israel JVP hate group, tend to be on the anti-Israel side of the aisle. Bill Lipton’s social media and Rafael Shimunov’s activism make it rather clear that top figures in the radical group share the left’s traditional hostility to the Jewish State.

But the cases of Trayon White, Cumbo and Richardson show a comfort level with anti-Semitic bigotry in the black community that has nothing to do with Israel. Even scum-Keith Ellison’s old history of defending anti-Semitism by Khalid Abdul Muhammed “that old no-good Jew, that old imposter Jew, that old hooked-nose, bagel-eating, lox-eating… just crawled out of the caves and hills of Europe, so-called damn Jew” to Joanne Jackson "Jews are among the most racist white people I know" had nothing to do with Israel.

Women’s March leaders like Tamika Mallory have tried to change the topic from anti-Semitism to Israel. But Farrakhan’s anti-Semitism isn’t motivated by Israel. The Nation of Islam predates the rebirth of the Jewish State. The stereotypes that Cumbo, White and Richardson are drawing on are even older.

And the left has a long, ugly history of trafficking in those stereotypes.

"What is the worldly religion of the Jew? Huckstering. What is his worldly God? Money. Money is the jealous god of Israel, in the face of which no other god may exist," Karl Marx ranted.

Like some of the WFPers, Marx had Jewish ancestors, but that didn’t interfere with his anti-Semitism.

The same idea was put forward by Pierre Leroux, who had coined the term ‘Socialism’, "When we speak of Jews, we mean the Jewish spirit, the spirit of profit, of lucre, of gain, the spirit of commerce."

Charles Fourier coined the term, "feminism". "The Jewish nation is not civilized," he wrote. "It devotes itself exclusively to traffic, to usury, and to mercantile depravity."

"Every government having regard to good morals ought to repress the Jews," he demanded.

Pierre-Joseph Proudhon, the father of anarchism, made him seem downright benevolent. "The Jew is the enemy of the human race. One must send this race back to Asia or exterminate it.”

It’s not hard to see how the racial nationalism and socialism of the Nazis emerged. And it’s equally easy to see the same political elements at work among some of the WFP’s anti-Semitic allies.

The Working Families Party doesn’t have an anti-Semitism problem because of Israel. Neither does Jeremy Corbyn in the UK. The Labour Party’s ugly history of anti-Semitism goes back to its roots in the National Socialist Party and Henry Hyndman. "The attack upon the Jews is a convenient cover for a more direct attack at an early date upon the great landlords and Christian capitalists," the founder of England’s first Socialist political party had urged. Anti-Semitism is a class warfare political distraction.

When Rafael Shimunov defends anti-Semitism by talking about “rich white people”, it’s hard not to hear the historical echoes of the way that the left has always used class warfare to justify the hatred of Jews.

The conspiracy theories, Jews controlling the weather, may be goofier than ever, but Trayon White had fastened on a classic anti-Semitic obsession of the left. It’s the very same one that touched off the latest round of condemnations of Corbyn’s anti-Semitism in the UK. That’s not a coincidence. It’s a pattern.

The left knows that class warfare sells better when packaged with anti-Semitism. Israel is just an excuse. Using Jews as economic scapegoats appeals to the petty tribal bigotries of the districts that the WFP is after. The WFP tweets a lot about the Nazis even while it borrows their politics of racial resentment.

And that’s why the Working Families Party has an anti-Semitism problem.

{ rickwells.us } ~ Martha MacCallum has the surprising developments on top of the surprises we already saw from the White House... in the announcement that the summit with North Korea had been called off. It appears that Kim Jong Un may have overplayed his hand a bit, and is now trying to work his way back into a position where he could wind up meeting with President Trump. In a statement issued by the North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Kim Kye-Gwam, the North apparently sought to repair the damage done, stating, “We express our willingness to sit down face-to-face with the US and resolve issues any time and in any format.” Kim continued, “Our commitment to doing our best for the sake of peace and stability for the world and the Korean Peninsula remains unchanged, and we are open-minded in giving time and opportunity to the US.”...

Trump welcomes 'productive' statement from North Korea,
says Dems 'rooting against' talks
by Brooke Singman

{ foxnews.com } ~ President Trump kept the diplomacy door open with North Korea on Friday... welcoming the regime's latest “productive” statement and saying the two sides are still talking following the administration’s decision to cancel a planned summit with Kim Jong Un.  Trump nixed the summit, which was slated for June 12 in Singapore, following threats from North Korea. But hours after the U.S. pulled out of the meeting, North Korea issued a statement suggesting the regime was open to talks. “Very good news to receive the warm and productive statement from North Korea. We will soon see where it will lead, hopefully to long and enduring prosperity and peace. Only time and talent will tell!” Trump tweeted on Friday morning....

{ lidblog.com } ~ In early January 2017, then-President Barack liar-nObama, SHMOTUS loose lips-Joe Biden, and a small sub-group of the national security team... began their transition to what’s commonly called the “Deep State.” Based on the footprints they left behind we can tell that they took time from their real jobs of running the country, this proto-deep state planned, coordinated, and leaked a timed media burst of articles about Trump and Russia. Each of the stories was leaked to different outlets. Each story was published between the 10th and 12th of January. This was the turning point when the liar-nObama Administration became the deep state. At NRO on Tuesday, Andrew McCarthy came to an important conclusion about the Trump-Russia investigation. It has been increasingly clear that the investigation – to the extent we may call it that – started quite a while before 31 July 2016, the date long given for its formal launch. McCarthy suggests it began in the early spring, probably around the end of March. Dating the focused tracking of Trump personnel to that early period forces the critical conclusion McCarthy ends with...   https://lidblog.com/obama-administration-deep-state/

{ defenddemocracy.org } ~ Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Monday presented the Islamic Republic of Iran with a stark choice... Either change or face “unprecedented financial pressure” in the form of “the strongest sanctions in history when we are complete.” The Trump administration has declared financial war on the Iranian regime. Given the seriousness of its currency emergency, it’s a good bet America will win. Iran’s economy is in crisis. Inflation is skyrocketing, banks are in turmoil, and Iranians protest daily against the regime’s ineptitude, corruption and foreign adventurism. The currency is collapsing. In 1979, just before the Islamic revolution, Iran’s official exchange rate was 70 rial to the dollar. Today’s official rate, 42,000 to 1, is only available to those with regime connections. Most Iranians have to accept less favorable terms on the black market...

Not Eyeless in Gaza
by Michael Curtis

{ americanthinker.com } ~ It's still the same old story, a fight for semantic glory. This time the fight is to define "proportionate."... More familiar is the buzzword "disproportionate," frequently and automatically uttered in meetings of United Nations bodies and by the majority of the "international community" when referring to the actions of the State of Israel and its citizens. Once again in recent weeks the UN Security Council in this fashion condemned the killing by Israeli forces of civilians during protests at the border fence between Israel and the Gaza Strip on March 30, 2018  and April 6-20 , 2018, that had erupted in violence. On May 15, 2018 the proposal in the UNSC condemned the "excessive use of force against unarmed civilians" after Israeli forces had clashed with Palestinian protestors in the Gaza Strip. The protestors,  trying to breach the Israeli fence on the dividing line betweeen the Gaza Strip and Israel, burned tires , used fire bombs and stones. Israeli forces responding to the provocation killed 62 and injured more than a thousand. No Israelis were killed.  International criticism focused on Israel's "disproportionate use of military force." All democratic nations and some of the moderate Arab nations accept the reality that Israel, like every other state, has a right to defend its borders...

And I howled at the morning driving rain.” I have no idea what that means, but a counterintelligence investigation of the Trump campaign under the codename “Crossfire Hurricane” certainly justifies a lot of howling.

Let’s review. Last week marked the one-year anniversary of “independent” counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into the fake Trump/Putin collusion delusion, sponsored by ludicrous and unverified opposition research provided to the CIA and FBI by operatives of the liar-Clinton /Putin/Fusion farce.
liar-Clinton’s charade prompted months of FBI and CIA investigations into the Trump campaign, followed by the appointment of Mueller to widen the investigation.
Despite having stacked his investigative team with 13 hard-core Democrats (some overt donors to liar-Hillary Clinton’s campaign) and zero Republicans, and having burned through 10 million taxpayer dollars (and as much in legal defense fees from those they’ve targeted), what Trump/Putin collusion has Mueller uncovered?
According to The New York Times — yes, The New York Times — “A year and a half later, no public evidence has surfaced connecting Mr. Trump’s advisers … or linking Mr. Trump himself, to the Russian government’s disruptive efforts.” Let that sink in.
Instead, Mueller’s “big fish” indictment was Trump’s former campaign chief, Paul Manafort — with unrelated business practice violations that occurred years before Trump was even a candidate. He also obtained a couple of guilty pleas from others who were only remotely connected to the Trump campaign and a bogus perjury plea from former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn (even former FBI Director James Comey told Congress he didn’t think Flynn had lied). But none of the indictments are even remotely connected to “collusion.”
Mueller has issued indictments for 13 Russians who plotted to disrupt the U.S. election in 2016 — not by swinging votes to one candidate or the other but by undermining confidence in the American electoral system.
For the record, the Russians have been trying to disrupt U.S. political stability since 1917, because that’s what socialists do.
Putin’s plotters have succeeded in their disruption goal beyond their wildest ambitions, thanks to a few rotten apples — most notably liar-nObama’s CIA Director John Brennan, the Deep State boss who’s at the root of the Trump collusion setup, the aforementioned James Comey, their enablers within the liar- Clinton campaign, and of course Mueller himself.
Currently, according to Mueller, Trump is not a target of his investigation, but he most certainly has been the target of Brennan and Comey. So when Mueller wants a conversation with Trump about something that didn’t happen, he should decline.
Despite the fact that the collusion narrative has collapsed, there will likely come other charges and indictments for infractions unrelated to Mueller’s investigative mandate in the months and potentially years ahead, as Mueller can keep his investigation open until he decides to close it — or is fired.

But according to former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper (who lied to Congress in 2013 about the liar-nObama administration’s collection of data on all Americans), Trump’s concern about the counterintelligence campaign targeting his campaign “is hyperbole.”
Clapper claims: “They may have had someone who was talking to them in the campaign, but, you know, the focus here, and as it was with the intelligence community, is not on the campaign, per se, but what the Russians were doing to try to instantiate themselves in the campaign or influence or leverage it. So if there was someone that was observing that sort of thing, that’s a good thing.”
Ask directly if government operatives were spying on the Trump campaign, Clapper said, “They were spying on, a term I don’t particularly like, but on what the Russians were doing. Trying to understand were the Russians infiltrating, trying to gain access, trying to gain leverage or influence, which is what they do.”
Again, the CIA and FBI should have contacted the Trump campaign directly to help determine if the Russians were seeking to influence Trump, but there was already a presumption of colluding guilt.
Now, for certain, Russian efforts to undermine the integrity of U.S. elections should be thoroughly investigated — as has always been the case.
And objectively, there’s a very thin argument in favor of Clapper’s assertion that the investigation was justified, though highly irregular. However, with Brennan, Comey and some of their key investigative gatekeepers, “objectivity” was AWOL. They were heavily biased for a liar-Hillary Clinton victory over Trump and were colluding to use the power of their agencies to ensure she would defeat Trump, and in the unlikely event he was elected, ensure to ensnare him in the collusion trap they set.
Thus, President Trump’s concerns are fully justified, as was his call for a full investigation into the campaign probes.
Regarding Brennan’s politicization of the CIA, Trump’s social media staff summed it up: “John Brennan … has disgraced himself, he has disgraced the Country, he has disgraced the entire Intelligence Community. He is the one man who is largely responsible for the destruction of American’s faith in the Intelligence Community and with some people at the top of the FBI, Brennan started this entire debacle about President Trump. We now know that Brennan had detailed knowledge of the (phony) dossier. … He briefs the Gang of 8 on the Hill about the dossier, which they then used to start an investigation about Trump. It is that simple. This guy is the genesis of this whole Debacle. This was a Political hit job…
Georgetown law professor Jonathan Turley (a Democrat) observed that, no matter how the Left and Leftmedia try to spin this operation, “You can tell a victim that this isn’t a mugging, it’s a forced divestiture, but this is a mugging. … I know of no precedent to support this.”
Not about to be content with this mugging, President Trump called Director of National Intelligence Daniel Coats and FBI Director Christopher Wray and ordered an investigation into the campaign probes with a full report due to congressional investigators. White House Chief of Staff John Kelly was assigned to ensure that Congress receives the information it needs to fully investigate the probe.
According to Trump Press Secretary Sarah Sanders, the administration believes the DoJ’s inspector general should “expand its current investigation to include any irregularities with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s or the Department of Justice’s tactics concerning the Trump Campaign.”
Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has referred the case to IG Horowitz, and Attorney General Jeff Sessions has appointed a federal prosecutor, John Huber, to work with Horowitz to review the case.
And House Republicans have introduced a resolution calling for a special counsel to investigate the FBI/DOJ investigators involved in the Trump/Russia probe. Game on.
Moving forward, I would caution Republicans to choose their words carefully when broadcasting condemnations.
As I have previously noted, the corruption of FBI leadership and some high-level bureaucrats has cast a long shadow on all of the 12,484 special agents and 2,950 intelligence analysts in the FBI. But most men and women in the FBI, much as in the CIA, steadfastly abide by their oaths “to support and defend” our Constitution, not their preferential candidate, and they serve our nation likewise. They live up to the FBI motto: Fidelity, Bravery, Integrity.
Indeed, most FBI agents, whose reputations and careers are being sullied, are deeply offended both personally and professionally by that corruption. According to confidential sources within the FBI, there are special agents who are appealing for subpoenas to testify about the extent of the Deep State corruption in the agency in order to clean it up.
Former District of Columbia U.S. Attorney Joe DiGenova, who is well connected with rank-and-file FBI agents in Washington, says, “There are agents all over this country who love the Bureau and are sickened by Comey’s behavior and McCabe and Holder and Lynch, and the thugs like [John] Brennan. They despise the fact that the Bureau was used as a tool of political intelligence by theliar-nObama administration thugs.
DiGenova places the FBI politicization plot squarely at the feet of Comey and McCabe on the inside, and Holder and Lynch over at the DoJ.
One well-placed FBI agent declared: “Every special agent I have spoken to in the Washington Field Office wants to see McCabe prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. They feel the same way about Comey. They know that it wasn’t just Comey and McCabe in this case. That’s too narrow a net to cast over these guys. There’s a much broader corruption that seeped into the seventh floor at the Bureau. They ruined the credibility of the Bureau…
Indeed, there are critical questions yet to be answered about the politicization of the FBI under liar-nObama.
But thus far, as was the case when liar-nObama politicized the IRS, having key high-level bureaucrats target conservative groups, nobody has gone to jail. The prospects of indictments for liar-nObama/ liar-Clinton political hacks in the CIA and FBI may be even more elusive.
Finally, allow me to share an award-winning example of Democrat obfuscation in rebuttal to Trump’s demand for an additional investigation.
Senate Minority schmoozer Chuck Schumer (D-NY) did a masterful job of turning this situation inside out: “That he would issue such an absurd and abusive demand based on no evidence shows just how little regard the president has for the rule of law.”
Seriously, he referenced “Rule of Law,” claiming there was “no evidence,” which is precisely the amount of evidence that led to the Mueller investigation.
clown-Schumer then added, “President Trump seems to have the terribly misguided view that the Department of Justice is there to protect his political interests and prosecute his enemies.” Ironically, it was Democrat Party leaders who weaponized the Department of Justice to take down Trump.
clown-Schumer finally ran out of hot air with this summary: “The president’s behavior is the kind of grossly autocratic behavior we’d expect in a banana republic, not a mature democracy.
Actually, the FBI/CIA probe is what one would expect when banana republic autocrats are attempting to take down their opposition.
Mick Jagger’s song ends, “It’s a gas, gas, gas,” and more liar-nObama/ liar-Clinton FBI/CIA Crossfire Hurricane operatives just got doused.

{ rickwells.us } ~ Globalist, anti-American political hack, Senator Tom “You Dull” Udall (D-NM) bit off much more than he could chew... in picking fights with Secretary of State Pompeo by asking  insulting, demeaning questions which were little more than a false pretext upon which to make unfounded accusations against President Trump. Udall first crafted a protective bubble around himself in concealing charges of making decision that benefit Trump properties in a matter related to Chinese telecommunications company ZTE. Udall uses the customary vague assertion that Democrats are so fond of in making their unfounded claims. He says, “Many observers have found these events and their timing strange, I would say very strange, as you know the Trump organization owns assets around the world, in India, the Middle East, Panama and it pursued a project in Russia well into 2016. Members of Congress and the executive branch are under an ethical duty to avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest.”...You dems stop hating people whom you disagree with and grew up.

{ theconservativetreehouse.com } ~ The MSM is insufferable in their intentional disconnect of the dynamic behind the North Korean denuclearization talks... It was Chinese Chairman Xi Jinping who brought the DPRK to the table; and it was Chinese Chairman Xi Jinping who pushed North Korea away from the table in their manipulative efforts to extract trade concessions. Every other review of the geopolitical gamesmanship is chaff and countermeasures. U.S. President Trump is holding massive steel and aluminum tariffs as an economic sword of Damocles over the head of Beijing during ongoing trade negotiations. Chairman Xi sought to increase his own leverage by pulling North Korea’s Chairman Kim Jong-un away from bilateral peace and denuclearization talks. However, POTUS Trump responded to the Beijing power-play by announcing a Section 232 trade review over the entire auto-industry; and then bolstered his counter-move by cancelling talks with Kim Jong-un. Red Dragon didn’t expect President Trump to respond so effectively to the customary schemes notoriously famous in any Chinese negotiation encounter. { freebeacon.com } ~ A congressional resolution to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the contested Golan Heights region in Syria met a quick demise this week... after House GOP leadership quietly put the kibosh on the measure following what sources allege was opposition from top Republican leaders and some in Trump administration, the Washington Free Beacon has learned. While White House officials familiar with the matter deny playing any role in opposing the measure, it was nixed earlier this week by House leadership, which refused to allow the historic measure to come up for a vote. The resolution, authored by Rep. Ron DeSantis (R., Fla.), would have represented a historic step towards the United States formally recognizing Israeli control over the Golan Heights territory, which rests on Israel's border with Syria and was annexed by the Jewish state in 1981. The United States has declined for decades to take a position of the status of this territory, but lawmakers backing the amendment felt the time was right for this effort following the Trump administration's successful bid to relocate the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Israel's capital city of Jerusalem...

Halper was identified by the Daily Caller's Chuck Ross last weekend as the professor who worked in some still-unknown capacity to inform the FBI on the Trump campaign in 2016 as part of the agency’s probe of Russia’s election meddling. Halper met with at least three of then-candidate Donald Trump’s campaign advisers, and records show he was  paid nearly $300,000 by the Defense Department in September 2016. No one in the Trump campaign knew that Halper was a longtime source of information for the FBI, thus he was effectively acting as a spy. National news outlets are refusing to make that connection or are attempting to minimize Halper as a factor altogether...

Prodigious jazz musician Wynton Marsalis is yet another iconic minority to publicly break with the Democrat Party on at least one aspect of what harms us culturally. For the record, Marsalis isn’t entirely unconventional when it comes to enforcing the Left’s narrative on supposed culture ills: He helped purge Confederate statues from his hometown of New Orleans. Nevertheless, he recently reiterated what he rightly believes contributes to the plight of minorities.

As he explained to The Washington Post: “I started saying in 1985 I don’t think we should have … music talking about n—rs and b—es and hoes. It had no impact. I’ve said it. I’ve repeated it. I still repeat it. To me that’s more damaging than a statue of Robert E. Lee.” He added, “There’s more n—rs in [raunchy music] than there is in Robert E. Lee’s statue.”
Marsalis is absolutely right, though we’d contend that Robert E. Lee was in fact a man of honor. The old adage about reaping what we sow is applicable in every aspect of life, and most Americans spend hours a day listening to music. Our youth in particular listen to profanity- and garbage-laden lyrics that are especially pervasive in rap and hip-hop. Regarding the latter, Marsalis once said: “Listen, I don’t have to attack hip-hop. Hip-hop attacks itself.” And that’s where Kanye West could still learn a thing or two. For example, two songs in which he is featured are titled “N—rs in Paris” and “That’s My B—h.” Garbage in, garbage out.
Music professor Ethan Hein believes just the opposite. In a recent article, he opines, “Music educators teach what they learned, and what they learned is likely to be the musical expression of old-world whiteness.” He endorses the view that “musical standards of classically trained university faculty are unsurprisingly oriented toward the classical tradition, [and] that they are ‘listening for affirmations of Whiteness.’” After all, “While overt racism is no longer socially acceptable, the institutional structures and vocabulary terms created during a racist era survive intact into the present.”
Condemning raunchy lyrics is hardly what we would call “affirmations of Whiteness.” It’s simply the decent thing to do. Arguing that it’s “so important that music education embrace hip-hop,” as Professor Hein does, because America must “re-orient the mission, values and goals of music education away from the preservation of whiteness” lends credence to Marsalis’s point that repulsive lyrics are “more damaging than a statue of Robert E. Lee.” If you doubt that, ask yourself this: Is a criminal or pervert more likely to embrace hip-hop or classical music?

{ rickwells.us } ~ Patrick Henry was a legendary American patriot who should in no way be confused with the current chief deputy whip of the Republican Treason Caucus in the US House of Representatives... Patrick McHenry. McHenry is a traitor, organizing the sellouts in the House into open border capitulation to the globalist Democrats, granting amnesty to squatters, rewarding them for violating our national sovereignty and encouraging more to make a run for the border. No problem, illegals, Americans will support you and we never run out of borrowed money. McHenry said on Thursday that the immigration discharge petition, a stunt that Ryan and the other establishment sellouts are hiding behind to pass the amnesty their Chamber of Commerce masters are so desperate for, will get the number of signatures needed to force amnesty upon the American people...   https://rickwells.us/traitor-ryan-amnesty-scheme-deal/

{ theconservativetreehouse.com } ~ There is a particular coordination of events that has been visible since December 2017 when the first evidence of the FBI and DOJ operations against the Trump campaign surfaced... In the past six months a great deal of granular timing relates to this coordination.  In January 2017 the DOJ IG began investigating FBI and DOJ conduct during the liar-Clinton investigation in 2015 and 2016. Toward the end of 2017 a joint House Judiciary Committee and House Oversight Committee venture was established to look into the FBI/DOJ handling of the liar-Clinton investigation, and the Trump counterintelligence investigation.  Judiciary Chairman Goodlatte and Oversight Chairman Gowdy established the joint-oversight venture and then little happened as they awaited the completion of the OIG internal review. Between the Fall of 2017 and May 2018 the final stages of the DOJ-OIG investigative inquires took place. In this period DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz was joined with federal prosecutor John Huber. Horowitz focused on the ongoing internal investigation, while Huber received evidence carved out that holds value for criminal prosecutions...

{ gatestoneinstitute.org } ~ Some Arab leaders stood out, in part, by their sexist and disrespectful language against former Secretaries of State, Madeleine Albright and Condoleezza Rice... Egyptian President Anwar Sadat referred to Golda Meir as the Old Lady. There was a famous discussion about it when Sadat came to the Knesset, and in front of the camera she said to him: "I know that at home you call me 'the old lady.' Well, I'm a grandmother, and you're a grandfather. And so from one grandparent to another, let me express my hope that our grandchildren will know a future of peace..." The Libyan dictator, Muammar Gaddafi, had what some referred to as a slightly eerie obsession with Condoleezza Rice, describing her as his "African Princess." Yesterday, two women were named at the head of what is seen as the center of power in the US, the Intelligence services: Gina Haspel and Kirstjen Nielsen. Secretary Nielsen was brought to the helm of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), a department staffed with 200,000 employees. The DHS was created after 9/11 to pool together a number of disparate branches of the administration, from emergency management, to customs, border protection and immigration. It is an extremely important position...   https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/12372/haspel-nielsen-iron-ladies

Biggest Welfare Reform Since 1996 Advances in House
by Brendan Kirby

{ lifezette.com } ~ A Republican-led effort to reform welfare cleared an important hurdle Thursday... advancing out of the House Ways and Means Committee. The Jobs and Opportunity with Benefits and Services (JOBS) for Success Act would push states to provide greater job assistance to people receiving cash welfare. It would refocus money currently spent on the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) program to more squarely target the poorest residents — those making 200 percent of the federal poverty line or less. “The economy, we know, is as strong as it has been in years,” Rep. Adrian Smith (R-Neb.) told reporters on a conference call following the committee vote. “The unemployment rate is at its lowest level since the turn of the century. The number of job openings has soared to more than 6.6 million, and the number of folks receiving unemployment benefits has fallen to the lowest level since 1969...   https://www.lifezette.com/polizette/biggest-welfare-reform-since-1996-advances-in-house/?utm_medium=email

by Arnold Ahlert:  Few things warm the cockles of progressive hearts more than moral relativism. And few things make them prouder than inculcating children with that odious concept. Thus it should surprise no one that students at Beacon High School in Manhattan were asked to observe a moment of silence for the Palestinian “victims” of the violence that took place in Gaza last week.

One outraged father cut through the nonsense inflicted on his child. “I am extremely upset because I did not send my child to a New York City public school to pray for Hamas operatives,” said the father, who is Jewish. Another student’s mother was equally illuminating. “I just don’t think any school should be promoting a moment of silence for terrorists,” she said. “What if it was Islamic terrorists in ISIS? No school would be having that over the loudspeaker.”
But it was Islamic terrorists the school was honoring. Hamas was designated by the State Department as a terrorist group on Oct. 8, 1997, and last Wednesday, Hamas official Salah Bardawil admitted that 50 of the 62 Palestinians reported killed during the Gaza border riots were members of that group. Other casualties were claimed by the Iranian-backed Palestinian Islamic Jihad, another designated terror organization.
Moreover, a rioter captured by Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) revealed the contemptible machinations Hamas undertakes to maintain the victimist narrative — the one swallowed whole by a purposefully uncurious media. “They tell women to go forward,” he explained. “They say to the woman: Go ahead, you are a woman, and the Israeli army does not shoot at women. They tell small children: Go ahead, the army does not shoot at small children. They tell a child to go ahead and he goes, it’s a little boy. They deceive him.”
It’s not the first time. In 2014, during the war between Hamas and Israel, Hamas finally admitted to using schools and hospitals in the Gaza Strip to launch rocket attacks on Israel, effectively turning those locations into human shields. Hamas spokesman Ghazi Hamad claimed the terrorist group made every effort to keep civilians away from the violence but that “there were some mistakes made and they were quickly dealt with.”
Mistakes? In a July 8, 2014, interview on Al Aqsa TV, Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri insisted that sacrificing innocents attests to the “character of our noble jihad-fighting people who defend their rights and their homes with their bare chests and blood.”
Predictably, a 2015 UN inquiry blamed Israel for attacks on UN schools in Gaza. Yet the board of inquiry conceded that Hamas stored mortars and other weapons in at least three of those UN schools during the war — and fired rockets at Israel from two of them.
In a better world in 2014, Hamas thugs, along with their contemptible enablers in the mainstream media, the Democrat Party and the progressive movement might have been asked to explain why the terrorist group should be entitled to retaliation-free missile launches against the Jewish State, simply because they purposefully locate their launchers in an area to maximize Palestinian casualties. In a better world in 2018, they might have been asked why it’s acceptable for Hamas to pay Palestinians to riot, and to make sure women and children were pushed to the front of a throng of approximately 40,000 to 50,000 protesters, many of whom were attempting breach the Israeli border — while their more militant allies placed explosive devices at the fence and opened fire on IDF forces.
In this world? A tony NYC high school embraces moral bankruptcy masquerading as compassion.
Such faux virtue-signaling is hardly surprising. “The highly selective Hells Kitchen school tends to lean left,” the New York Post explains. “Students, some with the permission of their teachers, walked out of school in November 2016 to protest Donald Trump’s election.” No doubt.
Nonetheless, junior Sophie Steinberg was somewhat perplexed by the school-wide announcement. “As a Jewish student, I could see a lot of my Jewish friends get very weird when the moment of silence started,” she said. “They don’t know how to feel. They don’t know how to fit into all of this.”
Feel? If anyone still wonders why American education has become an international laughingstock, look no further than the paradigm shift that occurred when schools dominated by progressive ideology began teaching children what to feel instead of how to think.
And if those feelings don’t align themselves with the progressive agenda? “More than anything, high school children fear not ‘fitting in,” writes columnist Rick Moran. “Leftist activists play on that fear by ostracizing anyone who might have a different opinion on any issue. This not-so-subtle form of pressure to conform to the dominant liberal view of the world discomfits children and prevents most of them from speaking out.”
It is a dominant liberal view backed by the New York City Department of Education. “We support civic engagement and advocacy amongst students, and encourage schools to provide inclusive environments where students are able to respectfully discuss current events,” declared DOE spokesman Doug Cohen in a statement.
Maybe they should discuss the reality that Hamas’s founding charter calls for the annihilation of the Jewish State.
It is not known whether the announcement, made by a student, was sanctioned by the school. Principal Ruth Lacey has not returned media requests for a comment, and parents who’ve reached out to Lacey said she’s been unresponsive. The Patriot Postalso tried contacting her, but access to her voicemail was unavailable. She is also the only member of the faculty with an unpublished email address.
Pro-Israel group Zionist Organization of America plans to send a letter to the school demanding an apology. “It is disgraceful to mourn the death of Hamas terrorists,” said organization president Morton Klein.
At Beacon, “disgraceful” is apparently in the eye of the beholder. “A lot of us are really concerned with what Israel is doing,” stated junior student Matt Klass, who is Jewish. “I think there is some disparity in how the parents feel and how the students feel.” Despite having a large contingent of Jewish students, Klass further noted the school is sympathetic to Palestinians and a two-state solution.
The same two-state solution Palestinians themselves have rejected for decades.
Junior Rosie Hendricks thought the announcement “was fine,” but she felt students could have “given more context” about the history of the ongoing conflict.
Here’s more context. “When we talk about 'peaceful resistance,’ we are deceiving the public,” stated Mahmoud Al-Zahar, a co-founder of Hamas, in an interview with Al Jazeera on May 13.
Only that part of the public that chooses to be deceived — along with an NYC Department of Education that likens rank propaganda to “civic discussion,” to defend a high school where the progressive agenda reigns supreme.   ~The Patriot Pos

{ dailycaller.com } ~ This piece originally reported that the special counsel requested an indefinite delay... It was been updated to reflect the request was a joint-filing with the defendant, and was for a 90-day delay. Since original publication, the court has granted the request. Special Counsel Robert Mueller asked a federal judge Tuesday to reject the four-decade-old speedy trial law in the case against 13 Russians and three Russian companies and has asked for a 90-day delay in his Russian collusion case. The defendant, Concord Management and Consulting, joined in his request, filing a joint motion. Judge Dabney L. Friedrich, a Trump appointee, accepted the request, granting “that the period of May 23, 2018 to August 28, 2018 is excluded for purposes of Speedy Trial Act calculations.” Friedrich had rejected an earlier request from Mueller without comment and ordered the case to go forward. The Speedy Trial Act is a 44-year old federal law that dictates that a federal criminal case must begin within 70 days from the date of the indictment...

Progressives on the Brink
by Jeffrey Folks

{ americanthinker.com } ~ The Trump era has exposed the dark, vindictive, and oppressive side of liberalism, but that side has always existed... "Progressives," as they prefer to be known, have a long history of extremism going back to Woodrow Wilson's Sedition Act of 1918 and FDR's many power-grabbing activities, including the 1937 attempt to pack the Supreme Court. Progressive thinking, because it attempts to impose an extreme vision of society on a public that resists its measures, is by its very nature authoritarian, antidemocratic, and elitist. Liberalism is not the "party of the people," as it has long claimed to be: it is, rather, a despotic philosophy that because of its intention of imposing "advanced" thinking on the masses can govern only through deceit and force. Because President Trump is reversing many liar-nObama-era initiatives, the left's hostility toward him is unprecedented. Progressives are becoming increasingly rigid in their thinking – and increasingly aggressive toward any who disagree with them. The left's opinion of the president, echoed in every left-leaning corner of the media, is that he is illegitimate; incompetent; racist; sexist; and, in some vague and inchoate sense, "fascist."....

by Michelle Malkin
{ cnsnews.com } ~ Educrat (ED-yoo-krat) noun, usually pejorative. A government school official or administrator whose primary function is to spend tax dollars telling other parents what to do with their children.

Beltway education bureaucrats abhor families who choose to keep their kids out of public schools — unless it's to grandstand over gun control.

Behold Arne Duncan, longtime pal of Barack liar-nObama and former U.S. Department of Education secretary, who called last weekend for parents nationwide to withdraw students from classes "until gun laws are changed to keep them safe."

Emotions are still raw after a teen shot 10 classmates and teachers to death in Texas last week. But Duncan has no excuse for his cynical, made-for-cable-TV exploitation of the Santa Fe High School massacre. Existing state laws banning minors under 18 from purchasing or possessing guns didn't stop the shooter. Neither did laws against possessing sawed-off shotguns or pipe bombs.

And contrary to hysterical early reports, the accused 17-year-old gunman did not use "assault rifles." So a "common sense" ban on "assault weapons" would not have saved lives, either.

But effective solutions to maximize students' safety and well-being seemingly aren't Duncan's goals. His mission is airtime. Publicity. Entertainment. Provocation for provocation's sake. Show time — for the children, of course.

School boycotts are a "radical idea," he admitted to MSNBC. "It's controversial. It's intentionally provocative." Praising teacher walkouts and student protests, Duncan told The Atlantic he supported parent-initiated school shutdowns for gun control because "we are not protecting our kids ... And the fact that we're not doing that — we're not willing to think radically enough to do it — I can't stomach that."

Ah, the royal, unstomachable "we."

Here's another thing I find hard to swallow: Education overlord Arne Duncan now championing the radical idea of parents exercising their autonomy to do what's best for their children.

As liar-nObama's meddling power-hungry education secretary, Duncan attacked "white suburban moms" and their children who turned to homeschooling in protest of the top-down Common Core "standards"/testing/data-mining program. Duncan sneered that he found it "fascinating" that the grass-roots anti-Common Core revolt came from "white suburban moms who — all of a sudden — their child isn't as brilliant as they thought they were, and their school isn't quite as good as they thought they were."

This elitist control freak revealed his fundamental disdain for rabble-rousing parents who've taken educational matters in to their own hands. By characterizing the movement against Common Core as "white" and "suburban," Duncan also exposed his bigotry against countless parents "of color," like myself, who've long opposed Fed Ed's sabotage of academic excellence, local control and student privacy in school districts across the country.

Note that newly minted parents' rights advocate Arne Duncan never once advocated boycotting Chicago public schools, which he ran for eight years, for their abject failure to quell rampant school violence.

Nor has Duncan called for parents to demand their districts withdraw from the disastrous "PROMISE" alternative discipline program that he helped create. After Duncan's protege, Broward County school superintendent Robert Runcie, initially denied that Parkland, Fla., shooter Nicholas Cruz had benefited from the program, he sheepishly acknowledged last week that Cruz had in fact been referred to the program and avoided criminal prosecution for school vandalism as a result.

Nor has Duncan said a peep about systemic coddling of abusers in the classroom by teachers' union presidents in New Jersey and Ohio, as exposed over the past month by undercover investigative journalists at Project Veritas.

Ad Feedback

Instead, Duncan has won high praise and more media interviews for his phony boycott proposal. "My family is all in if we can do this at scale," he nobly tweeted.

But what his slavering fans in the liberal media won't tell you is that Duncan's wife works at and his own children attend the exclusive, private University of Chicago Laboratory Schools in tony Hyde Park, which a Lab Schools brochure brags is "patrolled by the University of Chicago Police Department and private security."

Armed, of course, for thine and thee, Arne. But not for we.

{ rickwells.us } ~ Twenty-one turncoat Republicans have sold out the American people and have committed to support the illegal squatter amnesty scheme of Rep Jeff Denham... joining with Democrats in passing a DACA bill of some type. It’s being done with the tacit, covert approval of Speaker Paul Ryan, who could put a stop to it any time he wanted to by simply withholding campaign funding.  But Ryan serves those same corporate establishment masters so he’s sitting quietly on the sidelines as the GOP pro-amnesty congressional rebellion grows. But there’s another rebellion that is starting to gain momentum, one that is representing the wishes of the American people in defying the corrupt Speaker Ryan. Freedom Caucus member Rep Paul Gosar of Arizona is the first to prominently call for Ryan to resign his position. After reading the list of 21 traitors to the United States, Dobbs congratulates Gosar for his courage and standing up for what is right and the citizens of this nation. He notes that the Goodlatte Bill which was supposed to have already been offered up and which has not, is being watered down by Ryan, McCarthy, Scalise and the rest of the establishment sellouts and lobbyist puppets. Gosar points out that Paul Ryan’s heir apparent would already be speaker but he doesn’t have the support...   https://rickwells.us/ryan-21-amnesty-gosar-leave/.

{ freebeacon.com } ~ There is nothing more tiresome in Washington than the eternal circle of hypocrisy that comes when the branches of government change hands... What was once presidential overreach and legislating by fiat becomes praiseworthy initiative taking. What was once obstruction becomes #resistance. Former deficit hawks pass trillion dollar bills. The filibuster goes from an outdated usurpation of the voters' will to a time-honored consensus builder. The most tired example of this phenomenon is the perennial election-year complaint that gas prices are going up and obviously it's the fault of the president. This talking point dates all the way back in the Nixon and Carter administrations, but Democrats perfected the attack when Bush 43 was president and Republicans reclaimed it when liar-nObama took office. Now it's evidently Democrats' turn again. The Daily Beast reports  Monday that they plan to make rising gas prices the centerpiece of their summer election-year attacks against President Donald Trump. Already Chuck clown-Schumer has taken to the Senate floor to attack Trump on the issue, blaming the price increases on his decision to pull out of the Iran deal an Iran deal clown-Schumer supposedly opposes, but good luck figuring that one out...

{ legalinsurrection.com } ~ First Cuba. Now China. The State Department has issued a health alert for U.S. citizens in China after a U.S. employee... who worked in Guangzhou,  suffered a brain injury after he “reported subtle and vague, but abnormal, sensations of sound and pressure.” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said this attack is consistent with those in Cuba. From CNN: US officials have issued a health alert in China following the incident. Additionally, the US State Department is looking into whether the incident is similar to what happened in Cuba in 2016 and 2017, a US diplomatic official told CNN, which the US government characterized as a “sonic attack.” That incident led to a reduction in staffing at the US Embassy in Havana. The official who fell ill was assigned to the city of Guangzhou in southern China and reported a range of physical symptoms from late 2017 through to April 2018, the State Department said. The employee was sent back to the United States for assessment...

New reports from Afghanistan give false hopes for peace
by BILL ROGGIO

{ longwarjournal.org } ~ As US, European, and Afghan officials cling to the idea that the Taliban will negotiate a peace settlement to end the war in Afghanistan... a recent string of news articles would lead you to believe that the Taliban is actually willing to reach a compromise. However, these stories are highly misleading and give false hope that an end to this 17-year conflict is in sight. The Taliban’s leadership isn’t at all interested in making peace with – let alone sharing power with – an Afghan government that it considers to be an un-Islamic stooge of Western powers. The Taliban has repeatedly ignored and rebuffed the Afghan government’s peace offers, as it considers the Afghan government a pawn of the West. The Taliban has stated time and time again that it is its religious obligation to wage jihad, or holy war, in order to eject the occupying forces and re-establish the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, the name of the Taliban’s government. When the Taliban has previously discussed negotiations, it always has two preconditions to talks: the withdrawal of foreign forces and the return of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. To put it more simply, the Taliban’s negotiating position is: first the West and the Afghan government surrender, then we’ll talk...

No Conservative or Republican Professors Wanted

Well, according to a recent study from the National Association of Scholars, the imbalance of Democrats to Republicans among college faculty is worse than originally thought. While it’s no secret that America’s universities have for decades been more heavily populated with leftist professors than conservatives, the current situation can only be described as absolute domination. Forget the notion that conservative professors represent a minority, in nearly eight out of 10 of the nation’s leading liberal arts colleges, Republican faculty are simply non-existent. According to the study’s author, Mitchell Langbert, 78.2% of academic departments have either zero or so few Republican professors as to make no difference.

Langbert further explains: My sample of 8,688 tenure track, Ph.D.–holding professors from fifty-one of the sixty-six top ranked liberal arts colleges in the U.S. News 2017 report consists of 5,197, or 59.8 percent, who are registered either Republican or Democrat. The mean Democratic-to-Republican ratio (D:R) across the sample is 10.4:1, but because of an anomaly in the definition of what constitutes a liberal arts college in the U.S. News survey, I include two military colleges, West Point and Annapolis.1 If these are excluded, the D:R ratio is a whopping 12.7:1.
Not surprisingly, Langbert found that the disparity between Democrat and Republican faculty was greatest in the fields of the social sciences and humanities, while less so in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields. That said, even in those STEM fields the disparity heavily favored Democrats.
Langbert noted that over the decades the trend among faculty toward the Left has only increased. “More than a decade ago,” he said, “Stanley Rothman and colleagues provided evidence that while 39 percent of the professoriate on average described itself as Left in 1984, 72 percent did so in 1999.” And it is quite apparent that the disparity has only increased. Langbert further observed, “Political homogeneity is problematic because it biases research and teaching and reduces academic credibility.” The most ironic aspect of this study is that academic leftists fancy themselves the leading proponents and defenders of diversity.   ~The Patriot Pos

Specifically, the words on the shirt read: “Donald J. Trump Border Wall Construction Co.,” with “The Wall Just Got 10 Feet Taller” in quotes. Barnes’ class was discussing the topic of immigration that morning. “The T-shirt was just a representation of my political beliefs,” Barnes told KGW News. Putting U.S. Energy Production in Perspective

It doesn’t get much attention, but in February the Energy Information Administration calculated that more than 10 million barrels’ worth of oil is generated every single day in the U.S. — a five-decade high. However, you might be wondering how oil and natural gas production together fare in comparison to some of the Left’s coveted renewable energy projects. In a recent op-ed, the Manhattan Institute’s Robert Bryce provides the fascinating answer:
Over the past decade, merely the increase — I repeat, just the increase — in US oil and gas production is equal to seven times the total energy production of every wind turbine and solar project in the United States. … In 2008, US oil production was about 5.2 million barrels per day. Today, it’s about 10.2 million barrels per day. In 2008, domestic gas production averaged about 55.1 billion cubic feet per day. Today, it’s about 87.6 billion cubic feet per day. That’s an increase of about 32.5 billion cubic feet per day, which is equivalent to about 5.5 million barrels of oil per day. Thus, over the past decade, US oil and gas output has jumped by about 10.5 million barrels of oil equivalent per day. Let’s compare that to domestic solar and wind production which, since 2008, has increased by 4,800 percent and 450 percent, respectively. While those percentage increases are impressive, the total energy produced from those sources remains small when compared to oil and gas. In 2017, according to the Energy Information Administration, US solar production totaled about 77 terawatt-hours and wind production totaled about 254 terawatt-hours, for a combined total of 331 terawatt-hours. That’s the equivalent of about 1.5 million barrels of oil per day. Simple division (10.5 divided by 1.5) shows that since 2008, the increase in energy production from oil and gas is equal to seven times the energy output of all domestic solar and wind.

That’s an incredible statistic. Consider just how many billions of taxpayer dollars have been thrown at renewable energy projects, and then compare the relatively lackluster results with what the free market has accomplished on its own. As we opined in February, America’s robust energy production is emblematic of the positive developments that occur when onerous regulations are repealed and innovation takes hold. Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean that prices at the pump will reflect U.S. production. In New York, for example, some drivers are facing $5/gallon gas.
To help explain some of this discrepancy, our own Michael Swartz recently wrote, “While it isn’t as much of a factor on the supply side, OPEC can still be a price driver. In this case, both Saudi Arabia and non-OPEC Russia have put aside their foreign policy differences and enforced an 18-month-long production cut between themselves — a slowdown that has eliminated the supply glut (and low prices) we enjoyed over the last few years. And since those two nations are the second- and third-largest producers of crude oil (trailing only the U.S.), their coalition significantly influences the market.”
But if anything, this should actually encourage the U.S. to pursue oil and gas extraction to an even greater degree. The limit to what energy companies can do here in America has always been underappreciated, so providing a good environment for them to further flourish should be a high priority if our goal is genuine energy independence. The less we have to worry about what OPEC is doing behind the scenes, the better off consumers — and our national security — will be. Based on the numbers alone, wind and solar energy production aren’t going to get us there.   ~The Patriot Pos

White House pulls out of summit with North Korea's Kim Jong Un
by Brooke Singman

{ foxnews.com } ~ President Trump on Thursday canceled the highly anticipated summit with North Korea that was set for next month... calling the talks “inappropriate” following the “hostility” displayed in the latest comments from dictator Kim Jong Un. The move to pull out of the summit, slated to take place in Singapore on June 12, came after threats from Kim to call off the talks. In a letter to Kim on Thursday, Trump said the world, and North Korea, has lost a "great opportunity for lasting peace and great prosperity."  “Based on the tremendous anger and open hostility displayed in your most recent statement, I feel it is inappropriate, at this time, to have this long-planned meeting,” Trump wrote in a letter to Kim on Thursday. “Therefore, please let this letter serve to represent that the Singapore summit, for the good of both parties, but to the detriment of the world, will not take place.”....

Once she completed her attack, he asked for and was granted permission to respond to her vicious personal attack. As we noted last week, it appears that part of this joint CIA-FBI program, codenamed “Operation Crossfire Hurricane,” was the placement of a mole within the Trump campaign. That spy is widely believed to be Stefan Halper, a professor with dual U.S.-British citizenship who has deep connections with both U.S. and British intelligence.

However, it’s those individuals behind any plot who are the most responsible. And a name that has been rapidly rising to the top of the Spygate suspect list is that of Barack liar-nObama’s former CIA director, John Brennan. Brennan has been one of the loudest liar-nObama-era officials in criticizing Trump, regularly blaming him for “threatening America’s democracy.” Typical of this hyperbole was his message to congressional Republican leaders on Sunday, in which he warned, “If Mr. Trump continues along this disastrous path, you will bear major responsibility for the harm done to our democracy. You do a great disservice to our Nation & the Republican Party if you continue to enable Mr. Trump’s self-serving actions.”
But what makes Brennan rise to the top of the list are questions regarding his involvement with the infamous Christopher Steele dossier — you know, the one funded byliar-Hillary Clinton and the DNC. It appears that Brennan lied to Congress when he testified that the Steele dossier had nothing to do with the intelligence community’s conclusion that Russian election interference was intended to help Trump. As Investor’s Business Daily notes, “Brennan also lied when he said he didn’t know who was behind the Steele dossier, even though both the Justice Department and FBI knew a year earlier that liar-Hillary Clinton, Trump’s foe, had paid for the Steele hit job. The idea [that] Brennan, head of the world’s most powerful spy agency, didn’t know who was paying for the dossier simply isn’t credible on any level.”
Meanwhile, as L. Brent Bozell & Tim Graham point out, “We’re at a point where we should be asking what liar-nObama’s top intelligence hacks, then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and then-CIA Director John Brennan, were cooking in 2016. But guess what. CNN hired Clapper, and NBC News hired Brennan. Now they are paid by the networks to tell the folks at home that Trump is nutty for insisting they did anything nefarious.”
Is Brennan in hot water? Was his recent warning to Republicans a calculated attempt to shift focus away from himself and his actions? It remains to be seen.

Speaking before reporters, Zeldin said, “19 members of Congress will be introducing today a twelve-page House resolution detailing misconduct at the highest levels of the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation. It will be outlining FISA abuse, how and why the liar-Hillary Clinton email probe ended, and how and why the Trump-Russia probe began.” He revealed, “This resolution also calls for the appointment of a second special counsel to investigate the gross misconduct with the understanding that the Justice Department cannot be expected to investigate itself”...   https://rickwells.us/house-gop-2nd-special-counsel/.

We’re talking about only two big unions we’re talking about, like public employees union and teachers union. Only that, $258 billion. How are you going to add more money for health care coverage for illegals?” Steel said. “I mean, this is almost like obnoxious.” Steel said the state government is pushing its agenda too far and thinks its financial estimates are unreliable...Just think we use to live there for 40 years.

{ dailysignal.com } ~ It’s being reported that House Republicans plan to vote on several immigration bills in June in order to head off a discharge petition... by a group of party moderates that would force a vote on amnesty. Those bills, as I noted previously, are in fact amnesty bills. And as is generally the case with amnesty bills, these proposals are growing more and more unfair not just to American citizens, but to legal immigrants. Amnesty rewards those who have broken the law with citizenship, a precious thing in a republic, while millions of legal immigrants have waited—and are waiting—to come to the U.S. the right way...Thanks liar-nObama you really screwed things up.   https://www.dailysignal.com/2018/05/23/amnesty-first-breaks-faith-with-the-american-people/?utm_source=TDS_Email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=MorningBell%22&mkt_tok=eyJpIjoiTXpsbE5tWTNZakk1TURsaCIsInQiOiJ0M2xBNEU2UE9JdVlQVVZHYlFSZkZrMkwwUGY0Q0JcL3V6cURSdjlTeEpPMThmTG9nOTlWY3lBRXNxWHZPMDZXdDBzc3ZMNzBRNUVJMlVJVlwvNVNQdTREVFE2bXZDTDNSMXdcL040bThaUWVjM2Q4RXJaQWNrWFVoWlJBcXEwcm9zTyJ9

{ dailycaller.com } ~ Special Counsel Robert Mueller asked a federal judge Tuesday to reject the four-decade-old speedy trial law... in the case against 13 Russians and three Russian companies and has asked for an indefinite delay to the Russian collusion trial. It is the second time Mueller tried to delay the trial. Judge Dabney L. Friedrich, a Trump appointee, rejected the earlier request without comment and ordered the case to go forward. One of the Russian companies — Concord Management and Consulting — entered the U.S., hired American lawyers, and demanded a speedy trial. Rising Income, Dodd-Frank Rollback Yield GOP Support

The result has been a boost to the economy. The latest is a report showing that median household income is steadily rising again after stagnating during the previous administration. In January 2017, it was $59,471; now, it’s $61,483. According to Investor’s Business Daily (IBD), “Household income is now higher than it’s been in at least 50 years — after adjusting for inflation.” The economy is largely about consumer confidence. Rising incomes, more jobs, lower taxes and less regulation all add up to help people feel better about the economy, which then propels even more growth.

So it’s against this backdrop that Congress has accomplished a notable feat — rolling back significant chunks of Democrats’ onerous financial regulations. In 2010, Democrats rammed through the massive Dodd-Frank regulatory package in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, which, by the way, Democrats created with bad policy started in Bill Clinton’s administration. The result of Barack liar-nObama’s regulatory bonanza was years of stagnation.
Tuesday night, the House passed reform legislation, following the Senate’s lead back in March. The bill falls short of dismantling Dodd-Frank, but it will substantially help smaller banks that weren’t big enough to cope with Democrats’ massive regulations. Republicans raised the threshold for many of those regulations from $50 billion in assets to $250 billion, meaning just 12 banks will be subject to onerous oversight instead of 38.
“You take what you can get,” said economist Stephen Moore. “If I can get half a loaf, I take that over no loaf at all.”
Meanwhile, one final measure of the economy may actually be the “generic ballot” poll between Republicans and Democrats. “As recently as March,” IBD notes, “Democrats had an average 9-point lead on this question — which is seen as an indicator of the enthusiasm for the two parties going into the midterm elections in November.” Now? Republicans are up by six points, their first lead in this election cycle. Perhaps voters are putting two and two together — Trump’s economic policies are directly benefiting the average American. Why go back to the Democrat malaise?   ~The Patriot Pos

{ americanthinker.com } ~ This is an outrage, but it is common nationwide: the Daily Caller News Foundation reports that Mountain Ridge Middle School in West Virginia... is "instructing junior high students to write the Islamic profession of faith ostensibly to practice calligraphy."  Students are made to write out the Shahada, which states: "There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah." This is exactly what I warned about in my book, Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance, in the chapter "The Mosqueing of the Public Schools." In order to convert to Islam, one says the shahada. Saying the shahada makes you a Muslim. The shahada is what is on the black flag of jihad. No non-Muslim student should be forced to write or say the shahada without the qualifier "Muslims believe that..." This is because it is a statement of faith. If the school exercise is requiring students to write it, it should be clear from the wording of the exercise that this is Islamic faith, not the student's faith. That distinction has been glossed over in many, many school textbook presentations...  https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2018/05/islamizing_the_schools_the_case_of_west_virginia.html

{ lidblog.com } ~ The American mainstream media has been anti-Israel for decades... The coverage of last week’s Hamas attack on Israel was a prime example of their pro-terrorist/ anti-Israel bias. Horribly while the celebration of the American embassy move was happening on April 14th, a long-promised violent Hamas protest was also occurring. Israeli pre-protest warnings not to rush the border fence area were ignored, and IDF soldiers were forced to protect their country, especially the communities on the Israeli side of the Gaza border. The American media was quick to lie about the violent Hamas-led attack on Israel. Inventing a narrative, the mainstream media blamed the violence on the embassy move,  the Trump administration or an Israeli sense of entitlement...   https://lidblog.com/msm-pro-terrorist-anti-israel-bias/

by Cal Thomas
{ townhall.com } ~ When President Franklin D. Roosevelt famously said, "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself," he could not have foreseen today's Republican Party.

A bill authored by Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) that would require the federal government to balance the budget each year was soundly defeated last week in the Senate. Even Paul admitted he thought the bill had no chance, but he told the Washington Post his purpose was to point out Republican hypocrisy. Paul accused his Republican colleagues of engaging in an "unholy alliance" with Democrats to keep increasing spending, thereby adding to the deficit and national debt, which now exceeds $21 trillion with no end in sight.

In the House, Republicans pushed back against President Trump's proposal to cut a measly $15 billion from several programs. For Congress, $15 billion is pocket change, but even this small amount is too much for the GOP, which fears Democrat campaign commercials accusing Republicans of not caring about children and wanting to evict grandma from her home.

Rep. Ryan Costello (R-Pa.) exposed Republican fears in a comment quoted by the Post: "I worry about the messaging the Democrats will be able to do off it. Those ads write themselves."

This scenario happens with regularity. Are Republicans so stupid that they can't see it coming? Are they so inept that they can't devise a strategy to overcome the left's predictable tactics and put them on the defensive for their failed, expensive and unnecessary programs, along with their refusal to reform entitlements, the real driver of debt?

If the only motivation for Republicans is the next election, and the one after that, ad infinitum, why have any Republicans in Congress at all? Why have a Republican Party, which once was supposedly the party of small government, low taxes and individual responsibility? Now it seems the GOP has joined the other side and has become part of the problem rather than the solution.

It's not that Republicans -- and Democrats for that matter -- don't know how to balance the budget. The bipartisan Balanced Budget Act of 1997 would have balanced the budget by 2002. Unfortunately, the law had a short lifespan. By 1999 and 2000, new legislation was introduced and passed that effectively obliterated the previous attempt at fiscal discipline.

During the 2016 presidential campaign, Donald Trump rightly criticized President Obama for "...almost doubling our national debt to more than $19 trillion, and growing. And yet, what do we have to show for it? Our roads and bridges are falling apart, our airports are in Third World condition, and forty-three million Americans are on food stamps."

Even some Democrats get it right sometimes, though when spending push comes to election shove they usually vote with the big spenders. Rep. Bobby Scott (D-VA.) has said, "Obviously, there has to be a profound change in direction. Otherwise, interest on the national debt will start eating up virtually every penny that we have."

Well, maybe not obviously to many Republicans.

Republicans need to stop fearing the fear factor and start winning arguments. They can start by asking Americans if they want their money to continue to be spent on failed and unnecessary programs. They should then propose alternative programs that do work and promote the power of the individual, which once was paramount before government became our "keeper."

Fear is not a policy for Republicans. It is surrender. As John F. Kennedy said in another context, "We can do better."

{ cnsnews.com } ~ Three months after President Franklin Roosevelt named Robert Jackson attorney general, Jackson addressed a gathering of U.S. attorneys... He issued a worthwhile warning. "With the law books filled with a great assortment of crimes, a prosecutor stands a fair chance of finding at least a technical violation of some act on the part of almost anyone," Jackson said in a speech delivered April 1, 1940.  "In such a case," he said, "it is not a question of discovering the commission of a crime and then looking for the man who committed it, it is a question of picking the man and then searching the law books, or putting investigators to work, to pin some offense on him." { dailycaller.com } ~ Many agents in the FBI want Congress to subpoena them so they can reveal problems caused by former FBI Director James Comey and former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe... three people in direct contact with active field agents tell TheDC. “There are agents all over this country who love the bureau and are sickened by James Comey’s behavior and Andrew McCabe and scum-Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch and the thugs like John Brennan–who despise the fact that the bureau was used as a tool of political intelligence by the liar-nObama administration thugs,” former federal prosecutor Joe DiGenova told The Daily Caller Tuesday. “They are just waiting for a chance to come forward and testify.” Ahead of the release of the Department of Justice (DOJ) inspector general report on how the FBI handled the liar-Clinton email investigation, TheDC spoke with DiGenova, a former Trump official who maintained contact with rank and file FBI agents and a counter-intelligence consultant who conducted an interview with an active special agent of the FBI’s Washington Field Office (WFO)...

{ gatestoneinstitute.org } ~ There is a new development in Palestinian hatred of the Trump administration... the Palestinian leaders' verbal attacks on the US are now being translated into acts of violence against US delegations visiting Palestinian communities in the West Bank. The Palestinian campaign against the US began in December 2017, when President Donald Trump made his announcement recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital, and escalated after he announced that the US embassy in Tel Aviv would be moved to Jerusalem. The anti-US rhetoric has come from Palestinians representing all walks of life -- from the most senior, including President Mahmoud Abbas, to ordinary citizens in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and from secular groups such as the ruling Fatah faction to extremist Islamist organizations such as Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. If there is anything that unites the vast majority of Palestinians, it is their hatred of the Trump administration's representatives and policies... Sounds like the Dems and some Repub.

Surveillance Target Sam Clovis Discusses
His Contacts With FBI/CIA Intelligence Agent Stefan Halper
by sundance

{ theconservativetreehouse.com } ~ I’m working on a rather comprehensive outline to put all of the actions within the larger political operation together... things in sequence will make much more sense. However, in the interim, here’s former Trump campaign adviser Sam Clovis discussing his encounters with the CIA controlled intelligence agent Stefan Halper. *Note* For the sake of context, intellectual honesty and narrative transparency, it is important to note that Sam Clovis is legally represented by Victoria Toensing, wife of Joe diGenova. The reason for this understanding will become more obvious at a later date. Note how the thread/relationship connecting Stefan Halper and Carter Page is surfacing with growing clarity....

Trump: Time to Probe FBI's Collusion Probe

fO1GX3AG-53_7Lh3j0AYAPT-HXiz846fUsnJlY0VNEOwc-SF27EysK4KOgj_Z9bEb-oaJChvYEOJsoJ8ty7JK9D-vLBUG5sG11sNgRIPFS1FidnuJ0JBul5bwArzKB1yxtZj2CloX_3FD7AK0U1UaUQwgmS8CUsdIlz5MyTvcts=s0-d-e1-ft#%3Ca%20rel%3Dnofollow%20href=?width=450by Thomas Gallatin:  In the wake of recent reports alleging that Barack Obama’s FBI had a secret informant within Donald Trump’s 2016 election campaign, Trump has called for a new investigation. On Sunday, the president stated, “I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes — and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the liar-nObama Administration!”

Seemingly recognizing the seriousness of Trump’s charge, Justice Department Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein quickly responded by requesting that Inspector General Michael Horowitz expand his current probe of the FBI/DOJ’s handling of the liar-Hillary Clinton investigation to include the agency’s surveillance of the Trump campaign. Rosenstein released the following statement: “If anyone did infiltrate or surveil participants in a presidential campaign for inappropriate purposes, we need to know about it and take appropriate action.” It remains to be seen, however, if Rosenstein’s actions fully meet Trump’s demands. The obvious question here is whether the DOJ can be trusted to objectively investigate itself.
Meanwhile, more information has surfaced narrowing the description of the alleged FBI informant within the Trump campaign. The New York Times published the following three key details: The informant is an American academic who teaches in Britain. The informant sent a “curious message” to Trump campaign volunteer George Papadopoulos, offering to pay him $3,000 to write a research paper on “a disputed gas field in the eastern Mediterranean Sea”; the informant also offered a paid trip to London so they could meet. The informant sent Papadopoulos an email on September 2, 2016, writing: “I understand that this is rather sudden but thought that given your expertise it might be of interest to you.”
The Daily Caller claims to have identified the individual in question as Stefan Halper, a retired professor who had interactions with both Carter Page and George Papadopoulos. While not naming names, The Washington Post’s reporting seems to corroborate both the Caller’s and Times’ stories. A source for The Daily Wire notes that the DOJ and FBI appear to be leaking information to the Post and the Times rather than giving it to Congress, “all for the purpose of spinning an embarrassing story.” The irony here is that the reason the agencies have given Congress for refusing requested documents and information is concern over putting a source at risk.
In short, the trickle of information keeps these stories alive, for better or worse.   ~The Patriot Pos

{ ickwells.us } ~ Rep Ron DeSantis talks to Lou Dobbs about the mess that is the United States Congress under Ryan and McConnell... and how they are running interference for the swamp and their treasonous acts against the American people and our nation. Dobbs says, “Let’s start with your calls for a second special counsel, your thoughts about how likely it is that resolution will influence the outcome.” DeSantis doesn’t have high expectation, answering that he has hope that it does, with the reality that the swamp is attempting to protect their own tempering his optimism. DeSantis says, “I don’t think it was limited to the FBI, I mean, I want to know, people like John Brennan at the CIA. What, if any, involvement that institution had with some of these individuals. Because I don’t think it was all just cooked up in one agency. So having a special counsel, they’ll have the authority to be able to investigate the potential criminal offenses and then hold people accountable, subpoena people, whatever.”...   https://rickwells.us/rino-ryan-desantis-2nd-special-counsel/.

I don’t know how to say this. There is no possible way that we should be allowing — even if it was legal, we should never allow this in this country. Congress should not allow for anything like this to ever occur again to any political campaign if it in fact happened. { frontpagemag.com } ~ A bollard, Wikipedia tells us, “is a sturdy, short, vertical post. The term originally referred to a post on a ship or quay used principally for mooring boats... but is now used, primarily in British English, to refer to posts installed to control road traffic and posts designed to prevent ram raiding and car ramming attacks.” For a time I lived in a city, Amsterdam, where bollards numbering in the tens of thousands have been a feature of the urban landscape for generations. I didn't know them as bollards, but rather by the local word, Amsterdammertjes. They're all identical – brown and about hip-high and shaped rather like humongous dildos, which, given the city's international image, is not entirely inappropriate. Each of them has a vertical row of three X's on it. They're crosses, actually: Christian crosses, an allusion to Amsterdam's coat of arms.  Amsterdammertjes were originally intended to separate the sidewalk from the street and protect buildings from traffic; later they also helped prevent illegal parking. But since they date back to an era before contemporary jihadist terrorism, they aren't nearly strong enough to forestall deliberate car or truck attacks, only accidents involving relatively light, slow-moving vehicles. They're quaint relics, widely beloved – although for years now municipal authorities, presumably recognizing their inutility, have been gradually removing them. If developments elsewhere in the Western world are any indication, however, the  Amsterdammertjes will likely soon be replaced by solider objects – dividers capable of repelling deadly truck assaults of the sort committed on Bastille Day 2016 in Nice and last Halloween in New York...

Pompeo Announces New Hardline Against Iran

-SupPfqN8OdEeGu8i7A-0hFalAgdLZnGJPC-j6WmqBO6QAIgLNL1sCxIGz5KTQBUGmCMSUONXo8DwPQTXBYVxHuEl1sB2H90M64lR7vZ8hi7VPOJ83H6xkvlL2ACpuabnxa_CHYm2BgjVWPAxyZrxqxjOIOrG5E6fSU-avgyoDI=s0-d-e1-ft#%3Ca%20rel%3Dnofollow%20href=?width=450by Thomas Gallatin:  Speaking at The Heritage Foundation on Monday, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo issued a clear, no-nonsense ultimatum to Iran’s leaders: They should end their nuclear weapons and missile programs and stop funding and supporting terrorism throughout the Middle East and across the globe or “the strongest sanctions in history” will be leveled against them.

In beginning his speech, Pompeo explained President Donald Trump’s rationale for pulling out of Barack liar-nObama’s bogus “nuke deal,” officially called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Pompeo stated succinctly, “President Trump withdrew from the deal for a simple reason: It failed to guarantee the safety of the American people from the risk created by the leaders of the Islamic Republic of Iran. No more. No more wealth creation for Iranian kleptocrats. No more acceptance of missiles landing in Riyadh and in the Golan Heights. No more cost-free expansions of Iranian power. No more.
The secretary of state then highlighted the main flaw with the JCPOA, saying, “Strategically, the liar-nObama administration made a bet that the deal would spur Iran to stop its rogue-state actions and conform to international norms.” But, he added, “That bet was a loser with massive repercussions for all people living in the Middle East.” Pompeo noted that the JCPOA “merely delayed the inevitable nuclear weapons capability of the Iranian regime.”
Pompeo then shifted focus and laid out the new direction the U.S. would take with Iran, declaring, “We will continue to work with our allies to counter the regime’s destabilizing activities in the region, block their financing of terror, and address Iran’s proliferation of missiles and other advanced weapons that threaten peace and stability.” He continued, “We will also ensure Iran has no possible path to a nuclear weapon — ever.” He listed 12 demands that Iran must meet in order to see the sanctions lifted.
Although directed at the Iranian regime, the speech was also intended for European leaders who opposed Trump’s decision to pull out of the JCPOA. And the message to Europe is clear: Get on board with the new plan or feel the economic squeeze yourself. Trump is determined to reverse liar-nObama’s appeasement doctrine and bring America back to its role as leader of the free world, with the aim of promoting substantive and long-term change that comports with the interests of the U.S. and our allies. Similar to his economic squeezing of China in order to get it to pull the reins on North Korea, Trump is now squeezing Europe with the aim of getting full cooperation in raising stifling economic sanctions against Iranian regime. The ultimate goal may be seeding regime change in Iran. Pompeo has just issued the call. Time to see how quickly Europe’s leaders get on board.
Answering objections from the Left regarding Pompeo’s tone, Mark Alexander notes: “Despite the fact the Leftmedia treats policy in the region like it is a checkers game, it is a very sophisticated chess match. From my perspective, Trump and his team are the best foreign policy chess players since the Reagan administration, and it appears to me that virtually every move in the Middle East is, strategically, aimed directly, not tangentially, at Russia. As for claims that this makes war between Iran and Israel inevitable, while we would prefer all wars be preventable, some are inevitable. As for the latter, the abject strategic negligence in this region over to liar-nObama terms, has fused any additional warfare that ignites in the region.”  ~The Patriot Pos

{ rickwells.us } ~ Sean Hannity begins the segment with some tweets by President Trump which cut right to the point... of why the spy that was planted in his campaign by the liar-nObama/liar-Clinton/scum-Soros Mafia was paid such a large sum of money for his services, reportedly between $400,000 and $1,000,000, when the standard fee for an adviser in that purported function is much less. President Trump urges that America follow the money, noting that the spy was there earlier than the timetable of events would logically permit or dictate. He also points out that if the actual purpose, as has been argued by Clapper in an attempt to stay out of prison, was to investigate Russia-Trump collusion against liar-Clinton, why was no evidence ever provided? The reason may be because it was a political operation conducted in violation of federal law by our hijacked government. That’s also the reason why the documented liar-Clinton-Russia collusion is not being pursued. They have no interest in justice, the goal is to get Trump – period....

The group's president, former Ohio Democratic state senator Nina Turner, elicited rebuke in a report released Monday for her controversial leadership style and what some believe is an aversion to properly courting Latino voters, according to Politico, who spoke to two dozen sources inside and outside the organization. Turner's detractors pointed to her unwillingness to leverage the group's resources in initiating broader advocacy efforts to fix the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) program, an liar-nObama administration's executive order that provided legal protections to illegal immigrants brought to America as children. The issue came to a head in September when President Donald Trump rescinded the program, arguing it was conceived and implemented through executive overreach. SCOTUS: Contracts Mean What They Say

In the case Epic Systems Corp v. Lewis (to which similar cases Ernst & Young LLP et al. v. Morris et al. and National Labor Relations Board v. Murphy Oil USE, et al. were joined), the Court ruled that employees who agree to arbitration standards upon accepting a job must follow those same standards should a dispute arise. It was a solid ruling that also shows the importance of the current 5-4 divide.

In Epic, employees were seeking to forego arbitration and form a class action case against their employer rather than follow the individual arbitration standard they agreed to upon accepting their jobs and as outlined in the long-standing Federal Arbitration Act. In other words, the employees wished to throw out the rules because they had changed their minds.
The Wall Street Journal notes some history in the dispute: “In 2012 the liar-nObama National Labor Relations Board ruled that arbitration clauses in contracts that ban class actions violate Section 7 of the 1935 National Labor Relations Act. The novel ruling conflicted with even the board’s own general counsel’s opinion in 2010 that the validity of arbitration agreements ‘does not involve consideration of the policies of the National Labor Relations Act.’”
Justice Neil Gorsuch framed the case in two basic questions. Can employers insist that workplace disputes be handled through individual arbitration? Should employees always have an option of bringing claims in collective actions through the courts?
“As a matter of policy these questions are surely debatable,” Gorsuch wrote for the majority, which included Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Anthony Kennedy, Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito. “But as a matter of law the answer is clear. In the Federal Arbitration Act, Congress has instructed federal courts to enforce arbitration agreements according to their terms — including terms providing for individualized proceedings.”
On the other side of the 5-4 ruling were leftist Justices Stephen Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. It was Ginsburg who wrote the particularly shrill dissent, and she insisted on reading it from the bench.
“The court today holds enforceable these arm-twisted, take-it-or-leave-it contracts — including the provisions requiring employees to litigate wage and hours claims only one-by-one,” Ginsburg complained. “Federal labor law does not countenance such isolation of employees.”
Ginsburg’s dissenting opinion supports the idea that workers can accept terms of employment that include individual arbitration, but then opt out of those terms down the line if the worker believes that the terms are no longer suitable for whatever reason.
While the idea of following the rules only when they suit you is a typical component of the leftist worldview, it does not (or should not) hold in contract law or in business. As Gorsuch noted, the law is very clear on this issue. Ginsburg’s belief that this ruling will lead to an erosion of workers’ rights is overstated and misguided, as is the belief that the courts exist to weigh every single dispute between companies and their workers. Moreover, the notion that courts should always side with employees is another component of the leftist outlook that is simply false.
Gorsuch’s ruling was refreshing in that it demonstrated precisely how the Supreme Court should always operate — by examining a case on the merits and respecting the Rule of Law. Ginsburg’s dissent clearly demonstrated all that is wrong with the judiciary. She chose to engage in speculation and tried to create a ruling not based on what the law is but what she believes it should be.
Indeed, Gorsuch addressed this, writing, “This Court is not free to substitute its preferred economic policies for those chosen by the people’s representatives.
Hopefully, Gorsuch’s ruling in this case will be just one of many level-headed rulings we can expect from the Court as this term comes to a close. There are some blockbuster cases yet to come.   ~The Patriot Pos

{ rickwells.us } ~ Michael Caputo, a former Trump campaign adviser who has had his life turned upside down and his financial situation destroyed by Mueller... and his evil gang of political operatives, spoke about the COUP and the abuse of power by the liar-nObama regime, utilizing the federal government as their weapon against American citizens. He and Carter Page, who is in a similar situation, were both Laura Ingraham’s guests.  Speaking of the infiltration and attempted infiltration of the campaign by political agents of the liar-nObama regime, Caputo reverted to a common underlying theme in the plot to upend liar-Clinton’s opposition in the 2016, the Russia narrative. This time it had more to do with the similarity in tactics than the interaction. Caputo told Ingraham, “You’ve spent time in Russia, Carter and I both have. In Russia they call this “Siloviki,” the national security leadership that secretly spies on the entire citizenry of Russia. And here we are in the United States, with our own Siloviki underneath ‘president’ liar-nObama.”...

{ dailycaller.com } ~ Former Fox News host and close presidential advisor Eric Bolling took aim at Attorney General Jeff Sessions in a tweet Tuesday... Bolling’s direct shot at Sessions is the latest in a series of attacks from close presidential advisors in the media directed at the attorney general. The anger of these advisors centers on Sessions’ original recusal from the investigation of the 2016 presidential election and his unwillingness to curb or assist conservative lawmaker’s efforts to shed more light on the probe. Judge Jeanine Pirro, a Fox News personality and presidential advisor, similarly blasted Sessions Saturday night calling him “the most dangerous man in America,” saying, “The most of powerful prosecutor in the world, the man who holds the scales of justice in his hands, hides behind the coat tails of a Rod Rosenstein.”...   http://dailycaller.com/2018/05/22/eric-bolling-attacks-jeff-sessions/?utm_medium=email.

Yes, a Drop in Global Temperatures, But...

425M3CfrYfz43gw6y6VveBM9kEicRjbWyLdjl52CWGk76iwKcGyl3QpNfqGLQ2fkext20paYWm2eBvr2EQ0b9_65lhso8KW19H3uxMEXrdZheupqSiOY3mBKwoVuxKq90t_eeNJj8UEfTAx6kergXKoy9dGCkcRY2sHpjOleJEc=s0-d-e1-ft#%3Ca%20rel%3Dnofollow%20href=?width=450by Jordan Candler:  A recent editorial from a typically reputable conservative publication touted a sharp global temperature drop between February 2016 and February 2018. There’s no disputing the fact that records indicate a temperature drop on a global scale during that time. However, the editorial — the purpose of which was to lambast the nefarious mainstream media for purposefully ignoring this inconvenient fact — did not explain fully what is actually happening. Here’s why:

Global temperature drops are typical after El Niños, which naturally warm the globe. La Niñas do the opposite. Moreover, the last El Niño (2015-16) was exceptionally strong — a.k.a. a Super Niño. Therefore, it only makes sense that a significant global temperature drop would follow, as we’ve just registered back-to-back La Niña years. That being the case, the fact of the matter remains that global temperatures remain above normal two years after the last El Niño and above where they were two years after other El Niños. A higher threshold is seemingly being established following each Super Niño. Before 2015-16, the last one occurred in 1997-98. A pause ensued, but that baseline was higher than the average temperature over the previous 20 years. This doesn’t prove ecofascists’ rationale (not to mention justify their “solutions”) for so-called “climate change,” but it also doesn’t do conservatives any favors to borrow from the Left’s playbook by cherry-picking statistics simply for the benefit of aiding a narrative.
The cause may have to do with the immense amounts of water vapor that are released during Super Niños. These events result in a longer-lasting effect in Arctic regions years later, as tiny amounts of water vapor most affect temperatures where they are climatologically lowest and the air is driest. A glance at temperatures where most life occurs reveals that temperatures have returned to near normal, but the warmer polar regions are leading to the above-normal global temperatures, primarily during the coldest times of the year. It’s still very cold, but even slight warming there can skew the entire global temperature a few tenths of a degree higher. Regardless, global temperatures are still higher than they were after previous El Niños.

To its credit, the editorial in question does note that the latest temperature drop could be entirely meaningless. However, a little basic research would have precluded the editorial altogether. As meteorologist Joe Bastardi said in an email to The Patriot Post, “This is like saying you scored a couple of touchdowns and instead of being down 56-0 you are now losing only 56-14.” He added, “The point is that until temperatures return to or below normal, what is all the hoopla about? The other side can rightly point to a two-year post-El Niño record high.” The mainstream media should be criticized for how it handles reporting global warming. Conservative media should avoid falling into the same trap.   ~The Patriot Post

{ gatestoneinstitute.org } ~ Germany's Federal Office for Refugees and Migration (Bundesamt für Migration und Flüchtlinge, BAMF)... will review more than 25,000 asylum decisions after allegations of corruption at its regional office in the northern city of Bremen. Interior Minister Horst Seehofer announced the audit after it emerged that a former official at BAMF's Bremen branch allegedly accepted cash bribes in exchange for granting asylum to at least 1,200 refugees who did not meet the necessary criteria. Five others, including three lawyers, an interpreter and an intermediary, are also being investigated. The three lawyers allegedly received cash payments from "refugees" across Germany and submitted their asylum applications to the Bremen office. The interpreter then "interpreted" asylum interviews in such a way that the answers supposedly given by refugees matched the requirements for successful asylum applications. He reportedly received €500 ($680) per asylum seeker...   https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/12344/germany-asylum-scandal

Trump suggests historic summit with North Korea could be delayed

{ foxnews.com } ~ President Trump on Tuesday suggested the historic summit between him and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un could be delayed... past the scheduled date of June 12 in Singapore, amid threats from the rogue regime to cancel talks after U.S.-South Korean military exercises. The president’s comments came during an Oval Office meeting with visiting South Korean President Moon Jae-in. The two leaders discussed a strategy for denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, and Trump’s potential upcoming summit with Kim. “If it doesn’t happen, maybe it will happen later. You never know about deals. I’ve made a lot of deals, you never really know,” Trump said about the summit. “It may not work out for June 12.”...

Anni was recently invited to the Henry Monsky Lodge of B’nai B’rith in Omaha, Nebraska, to talk about Sharia Law and how she survived it. At the end of her talk, a leftist by the name of Steve, who described himself as a “lawyer,” attacked Anni with the preferred Jihad Denial slanders and accused her of preaching “hatred.” His intriguing performance was caught on video -- As it quickly became evident, Anni takes no prisoners when confronted with ignorance and she wiped the floor with Steve -- just as she recently did with an Antifa “feminist.”...

As part of the bankruptcy settlement, Avenatti agreed to pay $4.85 million to Jason Frank — a former lawyer at his Newport Beach firm — but did not complete the first $2 million installment, which he personally guaranteed would be paid by last week, according to a lawsuit Frank filed earlier this month in California Superior Court. The Justice Department revealed during the Tuesday hearing that Avenatti also defaulted on $2.4 million in back taxes he personally owed under a separate bankruptcy settlement. Avenatti, who has paid $1.5 million of the total, has blamed the unpaid taxes on an unnamed payroll company...

Trump's Not Messing Around With MS-13 'Animals'

SGPm07-gSuq_hRCXKQ9Uy-rtWw6UBEsLpxMjK-Snbeo3WY4W_XXE3CFVbHDRM_uN-iC1DNxF8FhFZg4greHZnT4mdO17EwHSZ5APBdEC0jQBA16bmkmalxXDdmdeOd1bj8k91fQa_5hB0jrfS-OUyLsK7MWnaq1Hlr3uTZD7omU=s0-d-e1-ft#%3Ca%20rel%3Dnofollow%20href=?width=450by Nate Jackson:  The Leftmedia went out of its way to peddle a BIG Lie about Donald Trump and immigration last week — that he called all illegal aliens “animals” instead of simply the violent thugs of the MS-13 gang. Never one to shy away from a fight, Trump issued a White House statement yesterday titled “What You Need To Know About The Violent Animals Of MS-13.”

Trump’s statement recounts numerous incidents of “unthinkable violence of MS-13’s animals.” And he’s right — their crimes include decapitation, dismemberment and savage beatings and stabbings. “President Trump’s entire Administration is working tirelessly to bring these violent animals to justice,” the statement concludes.
Politically, this accomplishes two things beyond sending a message of law and order to illegal alien thugs. It reassures Trump’s base that he’s serious about addressing the worst elements among immigrants. And it also fires a shot across the Leftmedia’s bow that Trump won’t be intimidated by lies meant to “prove” his supposed racism. “I referred to them as animals,” he said later, “and guess what? I always will.”
Dennis Prager gets to the bottom of the issue, “Biologically, of course, we are all human. But if ‘human’ is to mean anything moral — anything beyond the purely biological — then some people who have committed particularly heinous acts of evil against other human beings are not to be considered human. Otherwise ‘human’ has no moral being.”
Meanwhile, President Trump is requesting $500 million more for the border wall.   ~The Patriot Post

{ rickwells.us } ~ Rudy Giuliani has said some things lately that got him into hot water but which he and President Trump explained away... as his new lawyer getting up to speed. The revelations regarding payments to “Storm Drain” Daniels were roundly questioned, for example, but most of us attributed it to Giuliani putting the house in order, removing obstructions or problems and heading towards resolution. But Giuliani really outdid himself with this latest one regarding the timetable for ending the Mueller witch hunt. He said that Mueller’s inquisition will wrap up by September 1st because of the upcoming November elections. He told the New York Times, “You don’t want another repeat of the 2016 election where you get contrary reports at the end and you don’t know how it affected the election.” So he’s pressing for a schedule that will guarantee exactly that. Giuliani understands it’s not simply a matter of Mueller firing a shot into the air and declaring, “Witch hunt over.” There is a report, the pot of gold at the end of the taxpayer funded rainbow for Democrats, in which Mueller will insinuate, minus any evidence, that President Trump was involved in something that is borderline illegal but which they couldn’t quite pin on him. He’s applaud his own contrived charges and arrests of others on unrelated and largely fabricated offenses and point to the “great service he and his band of coup participants did in safeguarding the liberty of the United States” by fabricating a pointless and damaging hoax in their effort to force a sitting President from office...   https://rickwells.us/giuliani-trump-massacre-sept/

{ lidblog.com } ~ On Sunday, President Trump wrote on Twitter that he would be ordering an investigation into allegations that the FBI and/or the DOJ spied on the Trump campaign for political purposes... Trump’s call for an investigation led liberals to go foaming at the mouth crazy. Keep in mind the president didn’t come up with the idea his campaign may have been spied on, it was the progressive bibles, The NY Times and the Washington Post. Two months before the Times and Post, the story was actually broken by Chuck Ross at the Daily Caller. In his March 2018 report, Ross even outed the “spy” Cambridge Professor Stefan Halper. But the story didn’t really build until it was picked up by the liberal media. By Sunday the “spy story” was everywhere, and the president demanded answers...   https://lidblog.com/president-trump-spy-probe/

{ americanthinker.com } ~ One of my articles of faith is that there are no conspiracies, only stupid efforts to cover things up... Hello, Intelligence Community! In the last week or so, we have seen the unraveling of the Russia collusion narrative, the notion that the Trump presidential campaign was in bed with the Reds. Imagine! Not under the bed, as in olden times, when the left did it, but actually in bed with the pesky Russkies!  I can't believe the Trumpists did that!...

H.A.L.P.E.R. Spells Game Up
for liar-nObama's Spies
by Clarice Feldman

{ americanthinker.com } ~ Last week I reported that Internet sleuths had winkled out the name of the spy/agent provocateur that liar-nObama's intelligence officers had used on the Trump campaign. The New York Times and Washington Post, the Democrats' semi-official newspapers this week megaphoned the instigators, offering up their justifications without naming his name.

Again, the name is Stefan Halper, who, as I wrote here last week, was paid a substantial sum by the Department of Defense's Office of Net Assessment.

If it was for this work – and it suspiciously looks like it because the payments were made in July and September of 2016 when he was weaseling his way into the campaign – then we know we have the DNI, CIA, DOJ, FBI, Dept. of State and the Defense Department working for Hillary's election and to smear and create a basis for further spying on Trump and his campaign.

The NYT and Washington Post stories were clearly dictated by the perpetrators of this unprecedented effort to interfere with our elections. A careful reading shows that they leaked just enough about Halper to positively identify him while the press refuses to name him because the selective leakers warned, "that exposing him could endanger him or his contacts." If you buy that nonsense, please send me your name and contact information because I have a great investment deal for you.  Nevertheless, in trying to justify what was done, the papers revealed more of how Halper worked to entrap low-level campaign workers, perhaps to pad up a nonexistent predicate for the spying which had already occurred and which continued, even after the election when Deputy Attorney General renewed the fatally flawed FISA warrant.

In the selective leak to the press the officials who claim neither we nor Congress are entitled to this information we, nevertheless, learn this about his work:

From the Post story: Halper struck up a conversation with Carter Page a longtime FBI asset and witness against Russian interests himself in July 2016 posing as an academic "interested in American politics." In late summer Halper met with Trump campaign co-chairman Sam Clovis and offered to provide "foreign policy expertise to the Trump effort." Clovis begged off further meetings in which they discussed policy toward China due to the press of campaign activities. In September, he contacted George Papadopoulos, "an unpaid foreign policy advisor" to the Trump campaign, and invited him to London to work on a research paper on energy for which he paid him $3,000. The Post concedes this is a standard intelligence trick --offer to pay a mark you're trying to recruit for a report on an innocuous subject.

I suspect like the long-debunked claim that Valerie Plame was a covert agent whose naming jeopardized national security; the claim that Halper's name must not be revealed is utter bunk, but the press incuriously bought it then and buys it now:

The stakes are so high that the FBI has been working over the past two weeks to mitigate the potential damage if the source's identity were revealed, according to several people familiar with the matter. The bureau took steps to protect other live investigations that he has worked on and sought to lessen any danger to associates if his identity became known, said these people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive intelligence operations.

The Wall Street Journal's Kimberley Strassel has been having a field day unraveling the many contradictions of the intelligence community's shifting stories and the persistent stonewalling by the DoJ and FBI to congressional investigators at the very same time they are dropping tales to compliant press.

For example, she tweets:

5. Back in Dec., NYT assured us it was the Papadopoulos-Downer convo that inspired FBI to launch official counterintelligence operation on July 31, 2016. Which was convenient, since it diminished the role of the dossier

6. Now NYT tells us FBI didn't debrief downer until August 2nd. And Nunes says no "official intelligence" from allies was delivered to FBI about that convo prior to July 31. So how did FBI get Downer details? (Political actors?) And what really did inspire the CI investigation?

Let me explain this. In May 2016 Australia's High Commissioner to the UK, Alexander Downer a liar-Hillary friend) met with Papadopoulos in a London wine bar and questioned him about Russia and the liar-Hillary emails. Two months later he reportedly forwarded information about the conversation to the FBI, which it claimed was the basis for the counterintelligence investigation of Trump, but as Strassel notes – Downer wasn't questioned by the FBI until days after the investigation was opened.

Halper and Downer weren't alone in trying to see if Papadopoulos had information about the hacked DNC emails whose impenetrable password you may recall, was "password".

Former FBI agent Mark Wauck suggests Halper may have been operating under a preliminary investigation (PI), not a full Investigation (FI)

The FBI is asked--way back as early as 2015, but who knows? -- to be helpful to the Dems and they agree. What they do is they hire non-government consultants with close Dem ties to do "analytical work" for them, which happens to include total access to NSA data. Advantages? For the Dems, obviously, access to EVERYTHING digital. A gold mine for modern campaign research. For the FBI there's also an advantage. They get to play dumb -- gosh, we didn't know they were looking at all that stuff! They also don't have to falsify anything, like making stuff up to "justify" opening a FI [full investigation] on an American citizen and then lying to the FISC to get a FISA on the USPER US person and having to continually renew the FISA and lie all over again to the FISC each renewal. And the beauty of it all is, who's ever going to find out? And even if they do, how do you prove criminal intent?

So everything's humming along until a pain in the a** named Mike Rogers at NSA does an audit in 4/2016, just as the real campaign season is about to start. And Rogers learns that 85% of the searches the FBI has done between 12/2015 and 4/2016 have been totally out of bounds. And he clamps down -- no more non-government contractors, tight auditing on searches of NSA data. Oh sh*t! What to do, just give up? Well, not necessarily, but there's a lot more work involved and a lot more fudging the facts. What the FBI needs to do now is get a FISA that will cover their a** and provide coverage on the GOPers going forward. That means, first get a FI on an USPER US person connected to the Trump campaign who looks, in April or May 2016, like the GOP candidate so you can then get that FISA. That's not so easy, because they've got to find an USPER with that profile who they can plausibly present as a Russian spy. But they have this source named Halper.

So they first open a PI [preliminary investigation]. That allows them to legally use NatSec Letters and other investigative techniques to keep at least some of what they were doing going. But importantly this allows them to legally use Halper to try to frame people connected to the Trump campaign -- IOW, find someone to open a FI on so they can then get that FISA. However the PI is framed, that's what they're looking to do. It has legal form, even if the real intent is to help the Dems. And you can see why this had to be a CI [counterintelligence] thing, so in a sense the Russia narrative was almost inevitable -- no other bogeyman would really fit the bill, and especially on short notice.

So that's what they do, and Halper helps them come up with Papadopoulos and Page, so by the end of July they've got their FI. Problem. Their first FISA is rejected, but eventually, 10/2016, they get that.
And then Trump wins and Rogers visits Trump Tower. And the Deep State has a fit.

If his surmise is valid, it's likely all leading Republican contenders were also the subject of preliminary investigations.

Sundance fisks the NYT article on the repeated efforts to get nonexistent information from Papadopoulos by Halper, Downer, and also Halper's female assistant who over drinks tried to get him to admit he knew about Russian attempts to affect the election when the other two attempts had failed.

Halper, per the NYT, also spied on General Michael Flynn.

The justification peddled to and bought by the NYT is that the FBI agents and their contractor Halper were just trying to protect Trump from the Russians. I may be naïve, but I should think that spying on all the communications of a political candidate and his associates and unmasking and leaking what might help his opponent seem a preposterous justification when a meeting to convey their concerns would have been more than adequate. It sounds like an after-the-fact weak justification for otherwise inexplicable conduct.

When the efforts of the intelligence community conspirators failed, they came up with another gambit:

"So until election day, the "working group at Langley" was trying to dig up dirt on the Trump campaign and wasn't coming up with any. But Brennan didn't want his efforts to go to waste, so he leaked to Senator Harry dinky-Reid the existence of the counterintelligence probe into the Trump campaign. He couldn't leak any damning findings from that probe because there weren't any. But he could inflict political damage by getting Reid to tell the press darkly of the probe's existence."

And the same press which is trying to persuade us to believe an impossible thing every day, dutifully marched in step to spread the word that there was a counterintelligence investigation into Trump, believing we were all dumb enough to think a shrewd billionaire had great interest in conniving with the Russians. At the same time the press was downplaying Hillary's far more substantive financial contributions and connections with Russia and Russian interests, even her endorsing the sale of a substantial amount of our uranium deposits to them.

Soon enough, we are told, we'll get the long-awaited report of the DOJ's Inspector General on the first part of his inquiry – the investigation into Hillary's misuse of classified information on her email servers. Nevertheless, the DOJ stonewalling continues. Senator Chuck Grassley has had quite enough of this, demanding a copy of the letter describing the scope of the Special Counsel's mandate and power by Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein. He's given the Department of Justice until May 31 to hand over an unredacted copy of the Rosenstein memo naming Mueller and describing in the vaguest terms Mueller's powers and jurisdiction. The same thing he's asking for was just provided to Judge T.S. Ellis in the Manafort case in Virginia. How desperate are the Democrats to keep us from knowing what went on and what is still going on? This desperate: Senator Mark Warner (D-Va) is claiming that the FBI must not accept congressional oversight:

In essence he's arguing a notion that Judge Ellis has correctly swatted away – that the intelligence community is entitled to operate as a government on its own, without oversight. A preposterous argument from a member of the Gang of Eight whose job it is to conduct – wait for it – all oversight of the DOJ and FBI. Of course, as Sundance notes, Warner has every reason to shun congressional oversight and transparency – he was in on the intelligence scam himself:

Mark Warner was also the guy caught text messaging with DC Lawyer Adam Waldman in the spring of 2017. his first assignment Waldman was the lawyer for the interests of Christopher Steele – the author of the dossier.

While he was working as an intermediary putting Senator Warner and Christopher Steele in contact with each other, simultaneously Adam Waldman was also representing the interests of… wait for it… Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska.

Derispaska was the Russian person approached by Andrew McCabe and Peter Strzok and asked to assist in creating dirt on the Trump campaign, via Paul Manafort.

You see, Senator Mark Warner has a vested interest in making sure that no-one ever gets to the bottom of the 2016 political weaponization, spying and surveillance operation.

Senator Mark Warner was a participant in the execution of the "insurance policy" trying to remove President Trump via the Russian Collusion narrative.

In this regard – vested interests in hiding from us the extent of the liar-nObama Administration's lawless perfidy – Senator Warner is not alone. Ben Weingarten at The Federalist discusses how there is no longer any upside for Mueller's investigation to continue and offers up why he thinks Mueller continues on this pointless endeavor.

He notes how the latest effort of the Mueller team – the indictment of 13 Russians and three front companies – has devolved into clownishness. Mueller clearly thought these flawed indictments would never go to trial and the public relations affect was all that he wanted. Ka-Boom – wrong. One of the companies named hired very capable counsel who has, among other things, noted that one of the three entities named wasn't in existence at the time of the purported offense, some of the people named do not exist, and the offense charged is not illegal in any event.

The company has made discovery demands, the court has denied the Mueller request for delay.

The Russians will now get to enjoy all the benefits of our legal system without the actual "employees" involved ever likely appearing in court. So what was once a no-downside case for the Mueller special counsel has now become one with little upside.

At best, the Mueller special counsel may be highly embarrassed in being forced to essentially fold by dismissing the indictment, or at least the charges against Concord Management. Of course, this would delegitimize the special counsel by showing that one of its few non-process-crime cases pertaining to its Russia-centric mandate fell apart.

Adding insult to injury, a New York Sun editorial posits the special counsel could find itself facing litigation from Concord Management under the "Hyde Amendment" concerning frivolous criminal prosecutions. Russia will certainly be laughing.

Why continue this, he asks, and answers:

The Russiagate investigations inevitably seem to lead back to the investigators. This is not because the president's defenders are running interference. Rather, so many people seem to have been invested in protecting assumed presidential winner liar-Hillary Clinton, then in destroying her opponent and victor Donald Trump, that too many loose ends were never tied up and the malefactors need to cover their tracks. The Mueller special counsel is run by their friends and colleagues.

The cover-up effort has come into focus because it is so widespread and the fact pattern has played itself out over and over too many times. Every day we see more evidence of it in stonewalling, leaking,
disingenuously raising national security concerns, contradictory statements, and claims that protecting the integrity of institutions justify unethical if not illegal actions when it is these actions themselves that have destroyed the integrity of those institutions. ...

But increasingly it is very clear that for the non-useful idiots, all of the most insane narratives about Trump must be kept up or their credibility will be shredded.

Wretchard tweets something impossible to deny: "The biggest problem with politically weaponizing intelligence agencies is it CREATES a pathway for the foreign takeover of the system. If once a hostile power takes over the WH, it obtains the power to remain indefinitely."

We now have an imaginary crime – collusion – with imaginary evidence and even imaginary defendants. What is not imaginary is the selfish effort to destroy our polity by several handfuls of men and women who abused their positions of trust for intended partisan gain that failed. Give them the hook already.
