Part 10 – Perhaps the Biggest Tool in the Box

I hope at this point, I have not alienated anyone, but now I have to talk about the single biggest no-win political situation plaguing us today. It’s a horrible topic and my position on it, indeed anyone’s position on it, can be nothing less than horrible since you can’t make a cupcake out of a lump of excrement. It’s time to talk about politicized abortion. Please note, I said POLITICIZED abortion. I am not going to approach the moral or ethical topic of abortion itself because it is unapproachable. There is a sharp, passionate divide between those who believe it is murder and those who believe it is a woman’s right over her own body.

But consider this: The people who disagree with you on this topic are your fellow citizens. At the national level, the division is split right down the middle. That is a sure fire way to identify an issue which can not be debated on a national level. The politicians KNOW THIS. Why do you think they keep bringing it up? It’s a golden topic for a red herring whenever they need it. Did Hillary fund ISIS (who kills and rapes women and children)? I don’t know, but she’s completely 100% pro choice all the way with no limits. I guarantee you, lots of pro choice people voted for Trump in this election because the old scam fell flat on ears burning for other answers.

Trump, who used to be known as “pro choice” came out in the debate as “pro life”, kinda sorta. He didn’t bring it up, someone else did, just like always. His stance “horrified” many, but he didn’t explain it very well. He said “the states should decide”. And indeed they should. Or maybe counties should decide or even individual cities. However small the jurisdiction must be for a stance to be in a majority is where the issue belongs. For the pro life people, if you don’t like abortion, don’t have one. That’s really easy. For the pro choice people, if you feel you must have an abortion, go somewhere that believes it’s okay for you to have one.

Give the Gift of TRUMP

Trump completely, and with obvious success, side-stepped the issue, even though he fumbled with the wording. It should simply not be a national issue because it can not be cleanly declared the will of the majority either way. As long as this issue continues to arise in national political battles, it will continue to be used to hide actionable issues from discussion. CUT THE LEASH. Stop letting them do it. If you want the 80/80 to have what most of us want, you have to be willing to let things work out differently than your imagined best case scenario. I know it’s a struggle to get there, but the logic is unbreakable.

(Please stay tuned for the next part. It’s a long story, so I broke it down into life-sized bites.)
