Part 7 – BIG PROMISES

If Trump is to accomplish anything he promises, it’s going to be a process, not a finger snap. For instance, fixing the Obamacare Disaster will take more than simply undoing a couple Executive Orders. He COULD do that and the ACA would collapse because those orders are only thing holding it out of insolvency. BUT before any of that, somebody has to make a soft place for ACA participants to land. The “no preexisting conditions” clause was great at face value. But then insured Americans had to play musical chairs with insurance policies as carrier after carrier withdrew. What do they do now? If they had their original policies, their “conditions” would still be covered. This is a relatively SMALL issue compared to fighting economic collapse, getting unemployment under control, dealing with national debt, avoiding a global nuclear war, or even caring for our veterans.

THE DIFFERENCES IN POLITICS AND BUSINESS

In all of our lifetimes, on the national level, we’ve watched politicians make deals with each other and ultimately make things worse for us. Trump isn’t into “political capital”. He didn’t even bargain with the Republican party to get support for the election. The shift in paradigm here is Trump bargains with the final provider of the benefit he seeks. Deals with businesses, deals with other countries, even deals with the citizens of this country are the route to his ends. Politicians will feel left out, but things will get done. The proof here is looking at the local level of government. The most effective office-holders in local jurisdictions are always the business owners who simply want to improve their community. They are also not viewed favorably by their political peers if they don’t “play ball”.

WHAT IS THE MANDATE?

I find it interesting that for the first election in several cycles, the pundits weren’t out there chirping about a “mandate”. It’s a dumb word without much real meaning but it sounds very important. All it means is, “What signal did this choice by the American people send?” The answer isn’t being discussed because it is completely damning to those who usually ride behind its banner. The signal is simply, “Go away.” America, by clear majority, is sick and tired of a political class using marketing tactics to sell them on little carrots while feasting on the vast spoils of their corruption.

The Republican National Convention no longer stands for… well anything at all really. The most frustrated citizens in this country, FROM BOTH PARTIES, rallied behind a Republican candidate who didn’t even have the support of the RNC. But wait, there’s more. The Democratic National Convention stands for the exact same thing: NOTHING. After you remove the political careers and the support the RNC/DNC provide for them, they are dead carcasses of lost ideologies. It’s not even worth trying to compare the realities of either to their stated “platforms”. They are complete frauds at an institutional level.

(Please stay tuned for the next part. It’s a long story, so I broke it down into life-sized bites.)
