{ spectator.org } ~ Let us begin our annual celebration of The American Spectator by reviewing where we stand today, with the Right that is us arrayed against the Left that is them in another glorious democratic contest to bring heaven to earth... But first let me remind you of how right I was about the Mueller report of some months ago. I predicted last year at this gala that the report would include not a word about our blockbuster story of 2017. That was the story about how then–FBI Director scumbag-James B. Comey was caught on White House surveillance cameras blowing his nose on the White House curtains. The American Spectator broke that story well over a year ago. The New York Times with its front-page story of May 17, 2017, verified it. Incidentally, the curtains, according to the Times, were “blue.” Yet in the Mueller report, true to my prediction, there was no mention of the soiled curtains and of scumbag-Comey forgetting to bring Kleenex with him to the White House. Read the report for yourself. America is going through a dreadful period. It has got to come to an end. One among us saw it all coming years ago, long before there was talk of a second civil war being visited on America. I was sitting with Jim Piereson, our board member and frequent contributor, at the Yale Club discussing the condition of politics in the Republic. Jim astounded me with the observation that conditions are such that we could have another civil war today. That was 2010, nine years ago. Today we hear talk of how intense partisanship has become, and I often remind Jim of his prescient observation: “There could be violence.” In fact, there already has been violence, and it is not coming from the right, as we have been conditioned by our educational establishment and mainstream media to believe. Rather, it is coming from the left and at all levels. There have been assaults on people because they wear red hats that call for Making America Great Again. There have been assaults against participants at Trump rallies. There have been altercations with White House employees in restaurants and other public places. And of course there have been assassination attempts. Who will forget the demented commie-Bernie Sanders supporter who attacked the Republican baseball team and almost killed Rep. Steve Scalise? And the violence crosses new frontiers. The Democratic National Committee recently had to call upon its candidates to refrain from using crude back-alley language in debate. A major news network had to insist that the candidates refine their oratory to abide by the guidelines of the FCC. Many of these candidates have been women — supposedly the keepers of American virtue. Think of it: the political stars of the #MeToo movement are discouraging sexuality between adults while introducing crude back-alley language in their pursuit of the presidency. Has anyone ever been elected to the presidency because of his fluency with four-letter words? I can tell you as an official presidential historian — remember my scholarly writings on the scumbag/liar-Clintons — that never in American history has the entire upper tier of one of our major political parties had to be cautioned against using gutter language. For that matter, I am sure that the Communist Party of the USA never had to issue such a warning to its candidates. Did You Know This About Marie Yovanovitch?

{ spectator.org } ~ One, she was appointed ambassador to Ukraine by scumbag/liar-nObama in May 2016, six months before his presidency ended. From 2008 to 2011, she was Bush’s and scumbag/liar-nObama’s ambassador to Armenia... George W. Bush removed Yovanovitch’s predecessor, Ambassador John Evans, from the Armenia post after he rightly called the Turkish Holocaust of Armenians a “genocide.” Bush then nominated Richard Hoagland to be U.S. ambassador to Armenia, but he refused to acknowledge the Turkish Holocaust as “genocide,” so the Senate rejected him. Yovanovitch was the next nominee for the post, and she got the message not to call it “genocide” but to fudge it enough to placate Armenian Americans, so she played along and refused to call the Medz Yeghern — the Turkish Holocaust of 1.5 million Armenians between 1915–23 — a “genocide.” In the words of Sen. scumbag-Robert Menendez (D-N.J.), reported by the Associated Press on June 19, 2008, when he questioned her during hearings on her nomination, It is a shame that career foreign service officers have to be brought before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and find difficulty in acknowledging historical facts, and find difficulty in acknowledging the realities of what has been internationally recognized.… And it is amazing to me that we can talk about millions, a million and a half human beings who were slaughtered, we can talk about those who were raped, we can talk about those who were forcibly pushed out of their country, and we can have presidential acknowledgements of that, but then we cannot call it what it is. The Associated Press headlined its story “Nominee Refuses to Call Killings Genocide.” After the hearings on Yovanovitch, the Los Angeles Times reported the executive director of the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA), Aram Hamparian, stated, “We were troubled by Ambassador Yovanovitch’s refusal to offer any meaningful rationale for the Administration’s ongoing complicity in Turkey’s denials, other than her tacit admission that the United States has apparently allowed a foreign nation to impose a gag rule on America’s right to speak truthfully about the Armenian genocide.” Because Armenian Americans were so upset with Yovanovitch’s testimony and because Senate Democrats on the Foreign Relations Committee, including Sen. Barack scumbag/liar-nObama, felt comfortable criticizing the Bush administration’s refusal to use the word “genocide” to describe the Medz Yeghern, Yovanovitch’s nomination was delayed while she was forced to respond in writing to a series of written questions from the senators. Her responses further disgusted Armenian Americans. “We remain troubled by Ambassador Yovanovitch’s evasive answers, her outright non-responses, and her refusal, in her replies to Senator scumbag/liar-nObama and other Senators, to offer anything approaching a reasonable or factually supportable explanation of the reasons behind Administration’s misguided policy on the Armenian Genocide,” Hamparian said. “This being said, it appears as though Ambassador Yovanovitch and her colleagues have learned from the disastrous Hoagland experience and are coming to understand that the U.S. Senate will not accept — and the Armenian American community will never allow — an Ambassador to Armenia who denies the Armenian Genocide.” On October 2, 2008, towards the end of President George W. Bush’s tenure, she was asked while she was U.S. ambassador to Armenia what she would do if the newly elected president would change foreign policy, such as formally calling the Turkish Holocaust of Armenians a “genocide” even though she refused to do so. The ARMINFO News Agency reported, “An Ambassador serves his president and may be recalled anytime and for any reason,” newly appointed U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Marie L. Yovanovitch said in response to an ArmInfo question as to whether her personal stand on the Armenian Genocide will allow her further to work at the US Department of State if the new leadership of the White House recognizes Genocide.“The decision to recall an Ambassador fully depends on the president,” the American diplomat said avoiding a direct answer to the question. To recall, the former Ambassador John Evans was recalled from Armenia in 2006 for his statements on recognition of the Armenian Genocide... .
Fixing the Debt: A Reality Check

The national debt is $23 trillion and is projected to grow to 150 percent of national income in coming years... Think tanks of different persuasions agree that this growth in debt is not sustainable, but there is little consensus on how to “fix the debt”; most proposals are unrealistic and misleading. We can dismiss out of hand the new monetary theories proposing to print more money. Heavily indebted countries that finance spending by printing more money, such as Venezuela, end up with hyperinflation and a stagnating economy. Some proposals would attempt to close the fiscal gap. Closing the fiscal gap means stabilizing the ratio of debt to national income at current levels. But experience with debt in other highly indebted countries suggests that simply closing the fiscal gap is not a sufficient condition for fixing the debt. With high levels of debt, a country is exposed to economic instability, as revealed in highly indebted European countries during the recent financial crisis. The countries that have been successful in fixing their debt have done so by significantly reducing debt as a share of national income below the consensus target of 60 percent. Countries such as Sweden and Switzerland, for example, have reduced debt to sustainable levels by imposing a so-called “debt brake,” limiting the growth of spending and using surplus revenue to reduce their debt. In our research, we use a dynamic simulation model to estimate the potential impact of a Swiss-style debt brake in the United States. See vetfiscalrules.net. { thefederalist.com } ~ Over the past three days, our closest ally in the Middle East has endured a barrage of rockets from its Islamic jihadist neighbors in Gaza, resulting in the closing of Tel Aviv schools for the first time since 1990... In the early hours of Tuesday morning in Shajaiyah in Gaza City, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) assassinated Baha Abu al-Ata, a top commander of the Gaza terror group Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), a strike which has resulted in violent retaliatory measures against Israel on the part of the PIJ. Though Hamas is the terrorist organization currently exercising political control over Gaza, their absolute hold over the region has been more tenuous in recent years. And the Iran-backed PIJ has capitalized on this weakening of power, rising to fill the resulting power vacuum from Hamas’ decline. Yet, despite the hundreds of rockets launched at civilian centers throughout the southern part of Israel, only four of the top 10 2020 Democratic contenders bothered to comment—former Vice President loose lips liar-Joe Biden, Sen. lowlife-Kamala Harris who commented only when approached, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, and Sen. Amy Klobuchar. Notably absent were frontrunners Sen. Elizabeth dinky/liar-Warren (D-MA) and Sen. commie-Bernie Sanders (D-VT).The irony of this silence from top primary contenders such as Sen. commie-Bernie Sanders, D-VT., and Sen. Elizabeth dinky/liar-Warren, D-MA., is that they have no problem rustling up commentary on Israel when it is to lecture Israel on its immigration policy or to challenge Israel’s understanding of its own territorial claims. Indeed, many of the Democratic contenders expressed public anger at Israel’s denial of entry to Rep. worthless-Rashida Tlaib, D-MI., and Rep. worthless-Ilhan Omar, D-MN., who were refused admittance under Israel’s Entry into Israel Law due to their BDS activities which included the proposal of a pro-BDS bill in U.S. Congress. Though Israel’s decision was largely the result of adhering to laws already in place, public chastising on the part of the Left was swift and severe. Democrats prefer to discuss Israel only when they can condemn Israel... Guilty on all counts: Roger Stone, longtime

{ washingtonexaminer.com } ~ Roger Stone, the longtime Republican operative, flamboyant dirty trickster, and Trump ally, lied to Congress, obstructed an investigation, and intimidated a witness, a jury found Friday... He was found guilty on five separate counts of lying to the House Intelligence Committee in addition to two more charges of obstructing a congressional investigation and intimidating a witness following a two-week trial that centered on the actions taken by the self-identified "dirty trickster" and GOP agent provocateur during the 2016 election and beyond. Stone, 67, now faces up to 50 years in prison, a maximum of 20 alone for the most serious charge. Judge Amy Berman Jackson, who has presided over the case since January, will hand down Stone's sentence in February. The jury found Stone repeatedly misrepresented and concealed his 2016 attempt at collaborating with WikiLeaks and founder Julian Assange to obtain dirt on then-candidate scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton and stolen emails when speaking with Trump-Russia investigators from the House Intelligence Committee in a spin-off case from special counsel Robert Mueller’s two-year investigation. The charges against Stone included one count he “corruptly influenced, obstructed, and impeded” the congressional investigation and another that he attempted to “corruptly persuade” Credico’s congressional testimony. Stone also faced five counts of making “materially false, fictions, and fraudulent statements” to Congress. After the jury handed down its verdict, Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron Zelinsky argued that Stone should be held in prison for the next few months pending his official prison sentence... Yet nothing happens to scumbag/liar-Hillary or scumbag/liar-Schiff..
How Fordham University Lost
to Radical Palestinians in Court

{ americanthinker.com } ~ Coinciding with the 2019 National Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) conference held in Minnesota this past weekend... the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy (ISGAP) released an alarming report that exposes the toxic ideology that characterizes this radical campus group. The ISGAP report confirms what observers of radicalism in higher education have documented for years: that while SJP purports to be a group whose mission is to achieve a peaceful and just resolution to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict by supporting Palestinian self-determination, in fact, as the report put it, "SJP is steeped in an ideology that has roots in racist and antisemitic extremism." That toxic campus radicalism has meant that administrators, supporters of Israel, pro-Israel speakers, and Jewish students and organizations have experienced the caustic side-effect of SJP's presence on campus. As SJP grew more aggressive in its demonstrations and behavior, it occasionally, though rarely, has been sanctioned or restrained. Finally, in 2016, one university, Fordham University in New York, cognizant of SJP's history of poisoning dialogue on campuses and promoting a campaign of libels, defamation, and lies against Israel and Jewish students, reversed the decision of the student government to allow SJP to become a recognized student organization and decided that SJP, based on its sorry record at other universities, had no place at Fordham. Dean Keith Eldridge, aware of SJP's methods and ideology, bravely decided that "while students are encouraged to promote diverse political points of view, and we encourage conversation and debate on all topics, I cannot support an organization whose sole purpose is advocating political goals of a specific group, and against a specific country, when these goals clearly conflict with and run contrary to the mission and values of the University. ... The purpose of the organization as stated in the proposed club constitution points toward ... polarization." SJP immediately sued Fordham, in Awad v. Fordham University, 2019 WL 3550713, asserting that the decision to block it from becoming a recognized student organization was, as the judge ultimately found in reversing the dean's decision in 2019, "arbitrary and capricious," and "it must be concluded that Dean Eldridge's disapproval of SJP was made in large part because the subject of SJP's criticism is the State of Israel, rather than some other nation," and that "his only articulated concern was that SJP singled out one particular country for criticism and boycott." In fact, Fordham's instincts were well founded in that the dean knew, based in SJP's record elsewhere, of its pattern of radicalism, misbehavior, toxic speech, and overtly anti-Semitic behavior. That radicalism has been problematic, particularly since research by the AMCHA Initiative, an organization that tracks anti-Semitism and anti-Israelism at universities, "indicates a significant increase in actions which directly harm or threaten Jewish students, including physical and verbal assaults, destruction of property, harassment discrimination and suppression of speech, at schools with an SJP or similar anti-Zionist chapter." Equally serious is the report's findings that SJP's presence resulted in "incidents of Israel-related anti-Semitic harassment increaseing 70%."....

Black Americans Thriving in Trump Era
Political Editors: We noted it before but it bears repeating: All Americans are thriving under President Donald Trump, and especially black Americans. The data proves it, irrespective of what the Leftmedia claims. Under Trump, the black unemployment rate has hit record lows (5.4%), thanks in large part the Republicans’ Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which has helped create “opportunity zones” responsible for employing 1.4 million people within disadvantaged communities.
Under Trump, long-sought criminal-justice reforms have been realized. The First Step Act was passed, which shortened the length of mandatory-minimum sentencing requirements for nonviolent drug-related offenses and it allows the reevaluation of sentences that are suspected for being racially motivated. As of today, more than 3,000 Americans have been released from prison thanks to the First Step Act.
Trump’s policy agenda of pushing for greater school choice has resulted in the proposal of “a $5 billion per year tax credit on donations that fund scholarships for private schools, apprenticeships, and other educational programs,” as the GOP blog notes. Furthermore, Trump has established a board of advisers on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) — something sought under Barack Obama — and Trump “has appropriated more money than any past president to HBCU’s.”
In all honesty, based upon his record in support of black Americans, it is profoundly misleading and disingenuous for the mainstream media to continue screaming that Trump is a racist. The reality is that the majority of black Americans (as well as the rest of America) are doing better under Trump’s presidency than under his predecessor’s. ~The Patriot Post
