{youtube.com} ~ President Donald Trump has set in motion his plan to build an "impenetrable, physical, tall, powerful, beautiful... southern border wall" between the US and Mexico. The border is about 1,900 miles (3,100 km) long and traverses all sorts of terrain. Mr Trump says his wall will cover 1,000 miles and natural obstacles will take care of the rest. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell estimated it will cost between $12-15bn, as he addressed reporters at a Republican conference in Philadelphia. There are other reasons the costs would be likely to escalate beyond Mr Trump's price tag - his plans require extending the wall into increasingly remote and mountainous regions, raising the building costs substantially. National Anthem Protests Taking A Toll On The NFL’s Bottom Line?

And I do.
{townhall.com} ~ Because Democrats have been wandering aimlessly since the 2016 election, I thought it would be helpful to give them some suggestions to help them get out of their funk in my fourth annual “Suggestions for Liberals” column. So here goes:
We reap what we sow.
The 1960s Sexual Revolution is why there is a #MeToo movement. We are reaping the toxic side effects from the highly sexualized culture you created. As much disdain as you have for moral absolutes, understand they exist for good reason. Rather than being morally honest with yourself, you’ve weaponized your newfound principles for political purposes. Moreover, you have the audacity to appoint yourself as judge and jury over this monster you created. Please know that conservatives have no interest in your fake “moral awakening.” It’s your problem. Fix it.
Quit howling over tax reform.
While it’s not perfect, the GOP’s $1.5 trillion tax overhaul is a historic victory for Americans and should be celebrated. Even left-leaning groups like Tax Policy Center [TPC] confirm the bill helps the vast majority of taxpayers. And the evil corporations getting big breaks may end up hiring some of your snowflake sons and daughters, so lighten up. If you are not interested in having more of your money, give it back. Better yet, act like a conservative and donate it to charity.
Choose a side.
The struggle between the commy-Sanders-Ellison-Elizabeth dinky-Warren Progressive wing and the corporate interest wing of your party is mutual assured destruction. You are hemorrhaging supporters. A study done by Global Strategy Group discovered many of your party’s base voters did something extraordinary in 2016. They voted for Donald Trump. In fact, the study found the liar-nObama-turned-Trump voters, “effectively accounted for more than two-thirds of the reason liar-Clinton lost.” No wonder you wanted to blame it on Russia and are gung-ho on destroying President Trump. You would be better served cleaning up your own house.
Ditch the arrogance.
Doug Jones’ victory in Alabama’s United States Senate special election wasn’t the earth-shattering, seismic win some suggest. Democrats didn’t win as much as Republicans defeated themselves. Flawed candidates lose. Ask liar-Hillary. If there was one candidate in Alabama a Democrat could beat, it was Roy Moore. Odds are, Senator-elect Jones’ will not win reelection in 2020 because his political views put him to the extreme left of most Alabama voters.
Drop the drama.
You’d need less therapy appointments if you quit acting like spoiled children whose parents took away their favorite pacifier since Trump’s election. Utilizing totalitarian methods to accuse Trump of totalitarianism is a little rich, wouldn’t you say? As kindhearted as they are, everyday Americans are sick of your antics. They’ve decided the only way to thwart your misbehavior is fight back because they know you have no interest in compromise or coexistence. Relinquishing unresolved anger will add quality to your life, so why not just let it go, man, let it go.
Consider the good.
One year into Trump’s presidency and ISIS is defeated. That alone is “yuge,” but add to that Trump decertified the Iran deal, pulled out of the Paris accords, and declared Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. On November 9, 2016, voters resurrected consumer confidence from the grave in which liar-nObama buried it. Now the stock market soars and the economy roars, unlike former President liar-nObama’s crummy economy that stalled to a pathetic 1.6 percent growth. liar-nObamacare’s mandate is repealed and ANWR is open to oil and gas exploration, thanks to the GOP tax bill. Neil Gorsuch’s appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court along with the flurry of young, judicial appointments means the judiciary system is positively reshaped for decades. All this winning is awesome. Celebrate it.
I hope this helps.
Despite the axiomatic nature of this rule, time after time, politicians and public figures on the Right have ignored it. Periodically, they make light of the distinction between governments run by their political camp and governments run by their leftist opponents.
To their credit, the converse is never true. Leftist politicians and activists never delude themselves that they are better off in the opposition. They always prefer governments led by their own camp to governments led by the Right.
For several years, this pathology unique to the political Right laid dormant – never entirely gone, but out of sight. Today, the Right’s pathological refusal to recognize that it is better off in charge than in the opposition is making a political comeback.
For the past month, a rapidly growing chorus of columnists and politicians – all of whom dwell on either the right-wing or left-wing margins of the nationalist camp – have decided to join the Left in its assault against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and call either directly or indirectly from his ouster from office.
The Left – like its rightist followers – characterizes its anti-Netanyahu campaign as an anti-corruption campaign.
For the past several months, Netanyahu has been the subject of two dubious criminal probes. The first involves allegations that he received too many cigars as gifts from his personal friends. To date, investigators have found no evidence that Netanyahu provided special favors to his friends in exchange for the cigars. We know no evidence indicating the cigars were bribes has been found, because if any had been found, it would have been leaked to reporters just as every shred of even mildly incriminating findings from the probe has been leaked to the media in real-time.
The second investigation is arguably even less substantive. Netanyahu is being investigated for conversations he held in 2014 with his political nemesis Yediot Aharonot publisher Arnon Mozes. Netanyahu recorded the conversations and they were found on the cellphone of his former chief of staff Ari Harow in the course of a separate criminal probe against Harow for alleged influence peddling. In the recordings, Netanyahu and Mozes discuss the possibility that in exchange for Mozes tamping down his incendiary coverage of Netanyahu at Yediot, Netanyahu’s ally, Sheldon Adelson, would decrease circulation of Israel Hayom, the free daily Adelson owns.
We know that the two men never made a deal because in late 2014, Netanyahu disbanded his own government after his coalition partners voted in favor of a bill drafted by Yediot’s lawyers, that was aimed at shutting down Israel Hayom.
Moreover, during the 2015 election and since, Yediot has led the 24/7 media campaign for Netanyahu’s political destruction.
Given the flimsy nature of the probes, it isn’t surprising that Attorney-General Avichai Mandelblit isn’t thrilled with them.
Mandelblit’s reported lack of enthusiasm over the probes led leftist political strategist Eldad Yaniv to launch a massive political campaign against him earlier this year.
Several months ago, Yaniv began organizing anti-Netanyahu demonstrations outside Mandelblit’s apartment building in Petah Tikva every Saturday night, demanding that he indict the prime minister.
Not surprisingly, the Netanyahu-obsessed media have given massive and sympathetic coverage to the rallies. Reporters have airbrushed out the protesters’ anti-Zionism while massively exaggerating the number of participants. And while the protests are self-evidently anti-government protests, the media have played along with Yaniv’s conceit that they are apolitical protests by people who simply want to ensure that Netanyahu is indicted because he has to be guilty because they hate him.
The story of Netanyahu’s alleged corruption has led nightly newscasts countless times as breathless reporters present the public with details of investigations that are supposed to be secret. The open bias of police investigators, some of whom have openly called for the public to participate in political rallies against Netanyahu, is ignored.
Recently, the protesters decamped from Petah Tikva to the tony Rothschild Boulevard in Tel Aviv. And although most right-wing commentators and politicians acknowledge the leftist agenda of the protesters, last week Yaniv scored a significant victory. Rabbi Yuval Cherlow, one of the rabbinical leaders of the National Religious community, participated in his rally.
Cherlow wasn’t the first public personality on the Right who chose to turn against Netanyahu. Last month rightist attorney and newspaper columnist Nadav Haetzni wrote in Maariv that Netanyahu has become a burden to his political camp and must resign. Last week, Haetzni’s niece Sarah Haetzni Cohen, a columnist at Makor Rishon, and Yehuda Yifrach, Makor Rishon’s legal affairs editor, wrote side-by-side columns arguing that the nationalist camp mustn’t allow the Left to monopolize the fight against public corruption and must support the criminal probes against Netanyahu.
Yoaz Hendel is a columnist at Yediot identified with the soft Right. Ahead of the 2015 election, Tzipi Livni offered soft-rightist Hendel a spot on her leftist Knesset list.
Hendel announced this week that he is organizing an “anti-corruption” rally for members of the nationalist camp at Zion Square in Jerusalem this Saturday night. Since members of the nationalist camp don’t feel comfortable standing with protesters holding massive pro-BDS signs on Rothschild, Hendel said he decided they needed a place of their own to go to show that they don’t like corruption, or Netanyahu.
Former MK Aryeh Eldad of the National Union Party, and Kulanu MK and coalition member Rahel Azariya, are scheduled to participate at Hendel’s protest.
The members of the nationalist camp insisting Netanyahu is bad for the Right ignore the weak foundations of the probes against him and the political bias of police investigators. They ignore as well the probable consequences for their political camp if Netanyahu is ousted from office due to these investigations.
Some of Netanyahu’s homegrown opponents like Hendel and Azariya are motivated by the belief that Netanyahu is too opposed to the leftist establishment that controls Israel’s legal system. They attack him for not stopping his party members from criticizing Israel’s activist, post-Zionist Supreme Court justices and for calling out police investigators and journalists for their bias against him.
Others, including Yifrach and Eldad, argue that Netanyahu isn’t much of a rightist since he hasn’t actively expanded construction in Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria and has not enacted significant court reform.
We’ve been here before.
The same groups from the soft and hard Right joined together twice before to overthrow right-wing governments and hand the Left the keys to the realm.
In 1992, the far-right Tehiya party brought down the government of Yitzhak Shamir. Tehiya leaders Geula Cohen and Hanan Porat on the one hand justified their behavior by pointing to the Left’s allegations that Shamir and his Likud colleagues were corrupt. On the other hand, they claimed that Shamir’s agreement to participate in then-US president George H.W. Bush’s “peace conference” in Madrid meant that he was no better than the Left.
Their action facilitated convinced enough right-wing voters that there was no difference between the Likud and Labor to bring about the Labor Party’s electoral victory in the 1992 election. A year later, then-prime minister Yitzhak Rabin recognized the PLO and initiated the Oslo peace process.
In 1999, the Likud’s soft-right and hard-right establishment bolted Netanyahu’s first government and formed new parties. Dan Meridor, Yitzhak Mordechai and Roni Milo left Likud and joined with leftist politicians to form the “Center Party.”
Bennie Begin abandoned his father Menachem Begin’s party to form the National Union party with far-right ideologues.
Neither of the two parties fared well in the 1999 election.
But together, they brought down Netanyahu’s government and facilitated the Left’s electoral victory and Ehud Barak’s replacement of Netanyahu as premier.
In other words, the soft Right and the hard Right paved the way for the Camp David summit and the Palestinian terrorist war that followed, as well as Israel’s surrender of south Lebanon to Hezbollah. Those events in turn brought about Israel’s surrender of Gaza and northern Samaria to the Palestinians.
Both in 1992 and 1999, the Left based its electoral campaigns on opposition to corruption and tough talk on terrorism. Rabin pledged in 1992 never to recognize the PLO or withdraw from the Golan Heights. The next year he recognized the PLO and the year after that he offered Syrian dictator Hafez Assad the Golan Heights.
In 1999 Barak assured voters that there was no possibility of reaching a permanent peace with the PLO. A year later, he offered Yasser Arafat the Temple Mount and half of Jerusalem.
We can see the same situation forming today. As prejudicial leaks from the investigation of Netanyahu’s cigars multiplied, and Yaniv received more and more air time for his anti-Netanyahu rallies, Labor leader Avi Gabbay made a series of centrist statements to the media. Last month he said he doesn’t support uprooting Israeli communities in the framework of a peace treaty. This month he said that the Left made a mistake by embracing atheism.
Yair Lapid, head of the center-left Yesh Atid party, for his part has been going out of his way to court the Right for more than a year.
In other words, like Rabin and Barak in 1992 and 1999, the Left’s two contenders for premiership are going out of their way to make members of today’s nationalist camp feel comfortable overthrowing Netanyahu while protesting their ideological purity and commitment to clean politics.
The willingness of ostensibly right-wing intellectuals and politicians to make the same mistake for a third time is stunning. If Netanyahu is forced from office for receiving lots of cigars from his friends, the Likud won’t be stronger without him. An ugly battle for succession in Likud among equally uncompelling politicians will immediately ensue.
The Likud will enter the early election frayed, with a weak leader, under the pall of Netanyahu’s forced resignation.
For their part, the leftist parties, with the full support of the media that will hide their radical Knesset candidates list, will present themselves as incorruptible, moderate centrists who are tough on security and nice to poor people.
And they will win.
Yaniv, Gabbay, Lapid and the media all know that they cannot overthrow the government. They know the government will only fall if its members bring it down.
And that’s where the right-wing intellectuals come in handy. By falling yet again for the Left’s Three-card Monte corruption trick, right-wing media personalities are leading a campaign that if successful, will lead to only one outcome: the rise of the Left. And again, once it is in power, the Left never ever governs from the Right.
{goppresidential.com} ~ Attorney General Jeff Sessions has ordered the Justice Department to investigate the Uranium One deal... the liar-Hillary Clinton scandal where, during her term as Secretary of State, a Russian energy company wound up with control of 20 percent of U.S. uranium. The Department of Justice will interview multiple FBI agents, to get to the bottom of this burgeoning controversy. That fulfills a promise the DOJ had made to Congress last month. {islamist-watch.org} ~ On December 19, CAIR Massachusetts put up a Facebook post congratulating Tahirah Amatul-Wadud... a CAIR-MA board member, for her announcement that she is running for Congress. One would think, given that CAIR faces recurring condemnation for its links to extremism, that they would be more circumspect about broadcasting their connection to Ms. Amatul-Wadud — who is deeply enmeshed in one of the most dangerous extremist groups in the United States. As she notes on her professional website, Ms. Amatul-Wadud is the general counsel for a community calling itself Islamberg, near Hancock, NY. Islamberg was founded by Pakistani cleric Mubarak Ali Gilani. Gilani is the leader of the extremist group Jamaat al-Fuqra, which operates in the United States under the name "Muslims of America" (MOA) — and in fact, Ms. Amatul-Wadud is the lawyer not just for Islamberg, but for MOA itself. {townhall.com} ~ President Trump, every Republican senator, and the GOP majority in Speaker Paul Ryan's House just put the future of their party on the line.
By enacting the largest tax cut since the Reagan administration, the heart of which is cutting the corporate rate from 35 to 21 percent, Republicans have boldly bet the farm.
They have rewritten America's tax code to reflect their belief that cutting taxes on the private sector will produce the prosperity they have promised. If it happens, the GOP will reap the rewards, if not by 2018, then in 2020.
Democrats, as the Party of Government, egalitarian and neo-socialist, have come to see their role as redistributing wealth from those who have too much -- to those who have too little. For, as men and women are born unequal in ambition, ability, talent, energy, personality and drive, free markets must inevitably produce an inequality of results.
The mission of Democrats is to reduce those inequalities. And as the very rich are also the very few, in a one-man, one-vote democracy the Democratic Party will always have a following.
Winston Churchill called this the philosophy of failure and the gospel of envy.
Republicans see themselves as the party of free enterprise, of the private not the public sector. They believe that alleviating the burden of regulation and taxation on business will unleash that sector, growing the economy and producing broader prosperity.
By how they voted Wednesday, Republicans yet believe in "supply-side" economics. In the early '80s, this was derided as "voodoo economics" and "trickle-down" economics, and pungently disparaged by John Kenneth Galbraith as an economic philosophy rooted in the belief that, if you wish to feed the sparrows, you must first feed the horses.
The problem for Democrats is that Reaganomics worked, and is seen historically to have been successful. In 1984, growth was near 6 percent and Reagan rode to a 49-state landslide over Fritz Mondale who, at his San Francisco convention, had declared he would raise taxes.
Thus the importance of what happened Tuesday and Wednesday on Capitol Hill should not be underestimated.
On their legislative agenda, Republicans broke out of a slump. Though they got not a single Democratic vote in either chamber, they showed they can govern alone. On the lead item on the GOP-Trump agenda -- taxes -- they delivered. They shifted policy dramatically toward Republican philosophy. They wagered their future on their convictions. And the splenetic rage among Democrat elites suggests that they know they have suffered a defeat difficult to reverse.
Moreover, though the bill that came out of Congress is unpopular, the nation will not vote on Trumpian management of the economy until November 2018, after the early returns from the tax cut have come in.
And the Democratic Party has also been put into a tight box.
As Democrats have denounced the tax bill for exploding the debt by $1.5 trillion, how do they propose to pay for all the free stuff, including free tuition and infrastructure, that they will have on offer?
There are only two options: borrowing and growing the national debt themselves or raising taxes, as Mondale promised to do.
Another problem for Democrats is the new $10,000 limit on the tax deduction for state and local income and property taxes.
In blue states like Oregon, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Hawaii, the top state income tax rate is 8 to 10 percent. In Jerry Brown's California and Andrew Cuomo's New York, it hits 13 percent -- before adding property taxes on homes and condos in Manhattan and second homes out on Long Island.
Virtually eliminating state and local tax deductions is going to cause some of the rich to consider relocating to low-tax or no-tax red states in the Sun Belt like Florida. And it is going to put pressure on blue state pols to cease adding to the state and local tax burdens that Uncle Sam is not longer helping to carry.
Stepping back from all the Sturm und Drang of 2017, the Trump-Republican record of achievement, of meeting commitments made in the campaign of 2017, is not unimpressive.
The largest tax cuts in decades. Elevation of Neil Gorsuch to the Antonin Scalia seat on the Supreme Court. A record number of new U.S. appellate court judges approved by the Senate. The U.S. is out of the Paris climate accord and out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
NAFTA is being renegotiated. Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge will be open for drilling. The U.S. is at full employment, with minority unemployment near record lows. The stock market has consistently broken records, with the Dow having added 5,000 points. The liar-nObamacare individual mandate tax is gone. liar-nObama-era regulations have been cut and some eliminated.
And one year deeper into Russiagate, and still there is no proven collusion between candidate Trump and the Russians.
Indeed, the Robert Mueller investigators appear now to be coming under as much scrutiny and suspicion for how they behaved during the election and transition as Vladimir Putin and the Russians.
{freebeacon.com} ~ Sen. commy-Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) said Sunday that Democrats would "absolutely" raise the corporate tax rate if they take back control of Congress... "If the Democrats take control of the Senate, and you caucus with the Democrats, what's the promise to America about what will be done to reverse the state of affairs that you're so unhappy with?" CBS host John Dickerson asked on "Face The Nation." commy-Sanders jumped into income inequality before changing the subject to child health care and the "Dreamers" before being interrupted by Dickerson to re-ask the original question. McCabe is under fire for conflict of interest in three areas. He is believed to be the “Andy” referenced in texts between FBI agent Peter Strzok and his FBI mistress Lisa Page — texts that slam then-candidate Donald Trump as a “menace” and “loathsome human,” as well as discuss an “insurance policy” in case Trump won. House investigators are interested in determining the role McCabe played in what Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) worried might be “a plan to take action to make sure that Donald Trump does not get elected president of the United States at the highest levels of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.”
Investigators also likely questioned McCabe regarding demoted Justice Department official Bruce Ohr and his wife, Nellie. Ohr, who is likely to be subpoenaed, had undisclosed meetings with Fusion GPS, the firm that produced the phony “dossier” — paid for by liar-Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the DNC. At the same time, Ohr’s wife worked for Fusion GPS on Trump-related matters. McCabe reportedly told the congressional intelligence committee that he couldn’t recall when he first learned that liar-Clinton and the DNC funded the Fusion project, “despite the reported existence of documents with McCabe’s own signature on them establishing his knowledge of the dossier’s financing and provenance,” Fox News adds.
Finally, McCabe’s wife ran as a Democrat for a state Senate seat in Virginia and took nearly $700,000 in contributions from donors like Terry McAuliffe linked to the liar-Clinton machine. That was at the same time McCabe supervised the “probe” into liar-Clinton’s illegal email server. He finally recused himself — one week prior to the election.
McCabe, Ohr, Strzok and a host of others lurking in powerful government positions are the very kind of “deep state” folks loyal to Barack liar-nObama who are busy undermining Donald Trump at every turn.

.
But who is actually most affected by the GOP tax bill in these high-tax states? The short answer: high-income earners. As the Wall Street Journal explains:
The truth is that few taxpayers even in high tax states will be hurt because they won’t need a deduction beyond the $10,000 state-and-local cap in the bill. Tax writers estimate that only about 5% of households will even itemize their deductions because the bill nearly doubles the standard deduction to $24,000. Most affluent households who do itemize will also be held harmless because of tax-rate reductions.
But the tax math will be tricky for many high-earners in states with the highest tax rates. The bill reduces the top federal tax rate to 37% from 39.6% and increases the threshold at which it kicks in to $600,000 from $470,000 for couples filing jointly. Our friend Don Luskin did the math and says that high earners in states with top rates exceeding 6.56% could see their tax bills increase.
What these high-tax states will be facing is pressure to lower taxes in order to prevent high-income earners from moving out of state. As the Journal further explains:
The problem is more acute when you consider that the top 1% of earners pay nearly 50% of state income taxes in California and New York, and 37% in New Jersey. States may experience significant budget carnage if more high earners defect. To head off a high-earner revolt, Mr. Cuomo could seek to eliminate the millionaire’s tax he campaigned against in 2010 but has repeatedly extended. Mr. Brown could campaign to repeal the 3% surcharge on millionaires he championed in 2012.
Both California and New York, as well as the Democrat-run states of Oregon and Minnesota, for example, may soon be facing an increasing exodus of high-earners to the low-tax pastures. ~The Patriot Post

The economy has been a bright spot. After the Democrat-caused financial collapse in 2008 and the Barack liar-nObama stagnation of the last eight years, the economy really turned a corner in 2017. President Donald Trump has worked on a fantastic regimen of regulation cutting, and, of course, Republicans just passed the biggest tax reform in a generation — both of which will spark even more economic growth going into 2018. The average family of four will save more than $2,000, and nearly all American families eagerly anticipate this long-needed relief.
On the national security front, Trump recently unveiled his “America First” national security strategy— a strategy that hinges on strong economic growth making America stronger. And that came on the heels of victory over the Islamic State, at least in terms of its control over territory in the Middle East. That Long War will continue against jihadis the world over, but destroying the “caliphate” is big news. Moreover, as far as the military is concerned, we finally have an administration that prioritizes military morale. Trump just made an unscheduled visit to wounded veterans Thursday, and Vice President Mike Pence made a surprise trip to Afghanistan to visit our troops.
Culturally there were also some good things: Planned Parenthood closed 32 clinics, teen pregnancy rates continue to fall, the NFL suffered for its players obnoxious anti-Americanism and scum-Al Gore’s “Inconvenient Sequel” grossed a pathetic $3.5 million. Perhaps that’s not so much good news as schadenfreude, but it also means leftists aren’t always gaining ground in the culture wars. It’s also fair to say that some good has come of the reckoning among Hollywood, media and political elites over sexual misconduct. Leftist playboys like the late Hugh Hefner helped cause the problem, and many of these (often leftist) creeps are now being held to account. Also, in the face of terrible natural disaster, scenes of Americans helping each other were very heartwarming.
Finally, as Mark Alexander wrote in November, “Patriots, take a deep breath, and take heart in the knowledge that there are tens of millions of Patriots who are equally devoted to Liberty. Hold fast to George Washington’s counsel in his 1776 General Orders: ‘Let us animate and encourage each other. … A Freeman contending for Liberty on his own ground is superior to any slavish mercenary on earth.’”
We humbly ask your prayers for our Patriot team, that we would be tireless in our mission in defense of Liberty, and that we would seed and encourage the spirit of Liberty in the hearts and minds of our countrymen.

Sen. John Cornyn, the Senate GOP whip, said that lawmakers would take up the subject of the Dreamers’ fate sometime in the first few months of next year. “The president has given us enough time to deal with this before March and so I think that’s plenty of time and I expect us to meet it,” Cornyn said. “If we can’t, then the president could extend the deadline if he chose to do so. This week on the White House lawn, President Donald Trump was flanked by House Republicans in a ceremony marking a historic legislative achievement: the passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017. The act is being heralded in many circles as the most conservative, pro-growth policy to emerge from Congress since President Ronald Reagan’s 1986 tax reform.
One might think the name of the act alone would clearly resonate with the American people. (Then again, when you have legislative catastrophes named the “Affordable Care Act,” folks can be forgive for some cynicism.) What could be better than keeping more of our hard-earned money and giving businesses the ability to invest in our nation’s economy, hire more workers and raise wages?
Apparently, not everyone is on board. In fact, most people don’t believe it.
How did this happen? How could the House Republican leadership and even the president allow such a momentous occasion to be summarily dismissed by the very people who will benefit?
Republicans have historically lost the public relations battle to Democrats and their mainstream media accessories, and while yesterday’s ceremony is a step in the right direction, one senses that average, hard-working Americans still want a common-sense explanation for how this tax bill will put more money in their pockets. This should have been done in the weeks leading up to the vote, but once again Republicans failed to control the debate.
Investor’s Business Daily reports that the tax plan is “widely unpopular” or “wildly unpopular” or “horribly unpopular,” depending on which news outlet one reads. The polling analysts at FiveThirtyEight say the tax plan is “historically unpopular,” noting that it gets an average of just 33% support in nine surveys taken in December, with 52% saying they oppose it.“ Yes, that’s the same FiveThirtyEight that had liar-Hillary Clinton beating Donald Trump late into the evening on election night. Nonetheless, someone is shaping the public’s perception about this bill, and it’s not Republicans on Capitol Hill.
Most of the surveys asked very broad questions about whether Americans support the plan or whether they think they’ll receive any benefits. It’s no wonder that many respondents are suspicious about the legislation. After all, Democrats demonized the act as soon as they got a whiff of it. While Republicans in the House and Senate were squabbling over the details, Democrats had effectively characterized the plan as another scheme to take from the poor and give to the rich. It’s a BIG Lie, but an effective one.
National Review’s Jibran Khan states, "The predictable result is that a false claim — Republicans are raising taxes on all but the very rich, full stop — has spread like wildfire across Twitter, and has been given added momentum by think tanks, verified accounts, and trending hashtags. This effort has certainly paid off. According to a recent New York Times poll, only a third of Americans believe that they will see their taxes go down in 2018. It should come as no surprise, then, that the bill’s extreme unpopularity is in line with historic tax rises, rather than tax cuts: The majority of people think it’s a hike.”
But it’s hard to run from the facts, and even The Washington Post had to admit that “8 in 10 Americans will pay lower taxes next year, according to the nonpartisan [insert hysterical laughter at that characterization] Tax Policy Center’s analysis of the final bill. Only 5 percent of people will pay more next year. Mostly, those are folks who earn six figures and own expensive houses in places with high local taxes, such as New York and California.” Yet the Post led the Leftmedia assault on the bill, and none of those outlets are backing down in their effort to mislead the American people.
Alexandra DeSanctis writes in National Review, “A couple of weeks ago, the NYT editorial board co-opted the Twitter account of its opinion page and spent an entire afternoon issuing tweets, urging readers to call their senators to protest the tax-reform bill. They even went so far as to include the office numbers for each senator, so readers could more easily petition their representatives. It was outright political lobbying, from an editorial board that has routinely denounced Citizens United and decried the supposed involvement of ‘dark money’ in U.S. politics.”
Clearly, Democrats and their media propaganda machine will go to any lengths to stop the Trump/Republican agenda.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck clown-Schumer (D-NY) said that the legislation “will be an anchor to the ankles of every Republican running in 2018.” Really? If Democrats truly believed that the tax plan will backfire on Republicans, then why did they fight so hard to stop it? Sounds more like Democrats are fearful that Americans will forget all of the rhetoric when they see more money in their 2018 paychecks.
Even so, Republicans aren’t helping matters. They need to do more than sit around and wait for the truth to take hold.
The fact that a significant number of Americans think that one of the largest tax cuts in American history is actually a tax hike should put Republicans at all levels on notice that they need to do a better job of communicating their ideas. This is the only way to overcome the coordinated assault on a measure that will fatten nearly everyone’s wallet.
But this is the problem. Democrats have always circled the wagons and come up with catch phrases and slogans to drive their points home. They never shy away from making their case, even when their case is baseless. Many Americans still believe that Democrats are the party of the working class, and Republicans are fat cats. That’s because the Left has been in lockstep on message for decades.
It’s time for Republicans to defend their ideas without apology. For the first time since Reagan, we have a president willing to embrace a bold, conservative agenda — if only members of his own party would join him.
President Trump has never been afraid of winning, but it’s taken Republican leaders in Congress a full year to catch on. ~The Patriot Post

This vote comes on the heels of a measure passed by the UN Security Council that would have prevented any country from moving its embassy to Jerusalem. The U.S. vetoed that measure, which was clearly designed to stop Trump. The results of Thursday’s vote was 128 countries condemning the U.S. (and Israel), with just nine against and 35 abstained.
Haley responded to the results, saying, “The United States will remember this day in which it was singled out for attack in the General Assembly for the very act of exercising our right as a sovereign nation. We will remember it when we are called upon to once again make the world’s largest contribution to the United Nations. And we will remember it when so many countries come calling on us, as they so often do, to pay even more and to use our influence for their benefit.”
What this UN vote only further exposes is the significant degree of anti-Semitism and anti-Israel bias present within this world body. After Europe’s shameful history of anti-Semitic pogroms culminating in the horrors of the Holocaust a mere 70 years ago, now the nations of Britain and France, not to mention Germany, are turning and embracing anti-Israel policy positions. It’s all under the guise of seeking peace, but what peace? How many decades has this “peace” process gone on, with still no peace in sight?
The truth of the matter is that Europe’s open borders policies have resulted in a significant increase in the number of migrant Muslims living within these countries. Thus Britain, France and Germany’s vote against the U.S. and Israel had more to do with fears over inflaming the Muslim communities within their own borders. All three nations have suffered from Islamist terror attacks in recent years, and their vote was aimed at placating their growing Muslim populations. Anti-Semitic though it may be, they know that this toothless UN resolution amounted to little more than opportunities for political grandstanding on the world stage. ~The Patriot Post

Despite that documented success in the 1980s, as well as the proof of presidential leadership on the issue before and since, this most recent reform only passed because Republicans stuck together and took advantage of reconciliation rules in the Senate to thwart minority Democrats from bottling it up.
So what brought on the change? It’s not like Democrats and their media allies haven’t repeated the same “tax cuts for the wealthy” mantra and rhetoric for each and every GOP-sponsored tax package over the last 35 years. Indeed, the Big Lie becomes believable if repeated often enough, which is why House Minority Leader Nancy Pulosi compared the passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act to “Armageddon.” Similarly, thanks to the fake news about Trump’s supposed collusion with Russia, his approval ratings have tanked, and Millennials now believe we should be more of a socialist nation.
Shamefully lost because of this need for re-education is a basic concept that our nation was founded upon: the idea that what you earn through your labor should be yours to keep. We in our humble shop certainly understand our responsibility to “render unto Caesar,” as well as our duty to help out the least among us. But at the same time, we honor the idea that there should be limits placed on what government does for us, lest we succumb to slavery of a different sort.
That concept, however, is lost on Democrats, who realize that the power to levy taxes is also the power to destroy. Thus, they’ve succeeded in destroying our concept of private property by characterizing our desire to keep a little bit more of what we’ve earned as outright theft from society.
We were warned on this point long ago by John Adams, who said, “The moment the idea is admitted into society that property is not as sacred as the laws of God, and that there is not a force of law and public justice to protect it, anarchy and tyranny commence. If ‘Thou shalt not covet’ and ‘Thou shalt not steal’ were not commandments of Heaven, they must be made inviolable precepts in every society before it can be civilized or made free.”
Democrats have molded their party’s entire philosophy around coveting and stealing.
Bringing Adams’ thought forward 230 years is David French of National Review, who wrote a scathing reminder to the “snowflakes” out there that, in truth, it’s taxation that’s theft — not the just-passed Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. “We’re back to culture war,” writes French. “Red and Blue America are once again like ships passing in the night. A conservative hears the language of ‘theft’ and laughs. I’m not stealing from anyone if I’m allowed to keep more of my own cash. The progressive hears the same word and nods. After all, the government must fund ‘our’ welfare state, and the more money a person has, the greater the government’s moral and legal claim on his resources.”
Democrats are busy promoting a narrative based on a belief that Republican tax reform is “theft.” Bernie commy-Sanders called it “looting of the federal treasury,” Elizabeth dinky-Warren characterized it as “a heist,” Chuck clown-Schumer accused Republicans of making it a priority “to give the riches few a bigger piece of the pie,” and Nancy Pulosi says tax cuts for everyone are an effort to “rob from [children’s] future and ransack the middle class to reward the rich.” They are more than prepared to make this so-called theft an issue for the 2018 midterms.
Actually, the average family of four will save more than $2,000. But facts don’t bother Pulosi and Co.
With Democrats gearing up for class warfare, the next election will serve as a referendum on the direction of our country, and on the belief that we work for ourselves rather than a government that decides how much of what we earn we can keep. We know that Democrats support the latter approach, and they’ve succeeded quite well in creating a narrative based on it. The GOP has no choice but to bet that the tax cuts boost economic growth and prosperity to the point that they overwhelm the Democrats’ efforts to instill in us a collective guilt for keeping more of what we earn. ~The Patriot Post

{townhall.com} ~ On December 21, 2017, the UN united as one to stand against one city on the planet: Jerusalem. Twenty-five centuries earlier, the prophet Zechariah wrote these words from the Lord, “I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem for battle” (Zech. 14:2) Did the UN just move us one step closer to fulfilling this ancient prophecy?
Before answering this question, let’s look at the events on the ground.
First, the UN once again distinguished itself for hypocrisy by targeting Israel for its criticism – specifically, America’s support of Israel – while remaining silent on so many issues of world importance.
What has it been doing during the horrific war in Syria? Where has the UN been during the attempted genocide of Christians in the Middle East? Decades earlier, what did the UN have to say about Tiananmen Square in China or Saddam Hussein’s chemical warfare against the Kurds? Yet when America recognizes Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, the UN is in an uproar.
As I noted previously, groups like UNWatch.org have documented the UN’s consistent policy of singling out Israel for rebuke and condemnation while virtually ignoring atrocities committed on a mass scale by other nations, including Israel’s neighbors.
To give one case in point, during the UN General Assembly’s 61st session (2006-2007), “the time spent by ambassadors on enacting the 22nd anti-Israel resolution of the year was time not spent on passing a single resolution on Sudan's genocide in Darfur.”
So, while Sudanese Christians were being slaughtered en masse by Muslim soldiers and gangs, the UN General Assembly spent its time enacting 22 anti-Israel resolutions.
In 2015, as noted by an Israeli government website, at the closing of the 59th UN Commission on the Status of Women, only one political resolution was passed, one that accuses Israel of mistreating Palestinian women, in all aspects of life.
A similar resolution was passed in 2016 by the same UN Commission.
So, of all the nations on earth, only Israel was singled out for its alleged mistreatment of women.
That’s why Abba Eban, Israel’s legendary diplomat, once remarked, “If Algeria introduced a resolution declaring that the earth was flat and that Israel had flattened it, it would pass by a vote of 164 to 13 with 26 abstentions.”
Second, in anticipation of the UN vote, the United States handled things exactly as it should have: with a strong word of rebuke and warning.
After all, different international leaders did not simply call President Trump and say, “We strongly differ with your recognition of Jerusalem.” Instead, in the most public forum available, 128 nations stood together to condemn America for doing was what right and righteous, declaring our decision “null and void.”
Nikki Haley’s words to the UN before the vote said it all: “To its shame, the United Nations has long been a hostile place for the state of Israel. Both the current and the previous Secretary-Generals have objected to the UN’s disproportionate focus on Israel. It’s a wrong that undermines the credibility of this institution, and that in turn is harmful for the entire world.”
Good for you, Mrs. Haley. Call the UN on the carpet.
Then, after articulating all the good our country does around the world, along with its support for the UN, she rebuked the UN for disrespecting America, saying, “The United States will remember this day in which it was singled out for attack in the General Assembly for the very act of exercising our right as a sovereign nation. We will remember it when we are called upon to once again make the world’s largest contribution to the United Nations, and so many countries come calling on us, as they so often do, to pay even more and to use our influence for their benefit.”
And finally: “America will put our embassy in Jerusalem. That is what the American people want us to do and it is the right thing to do. This vote will make a difference in how Americans look at the UN. And this vote will be remembered.”
Here, here, Ambassador Haley!
Third, the 7 nations that stood with Israel and America today are a most unusual group, consisting of Guatemala, Honduras, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Togo, and Palau. Honestly, now, how many of us heard of some of these countries before? And how many of us could locate some of them on the map?
Whether it was out of economic dependence on the USA, a connection to Israel, or something else, these nations should be remembered for good in the days to come. They did what was courageous and correct.
As for the countries that abstained 35 in all, two the Czech Republic and the Philippines already stated they are considering relocating their embassies; a number of African nations have developed solid ties with Israel; some might have considered their need for American dollars; and others might have remembered Israel’s kindness to them such as Mexico, which was greatly aided by Israel after their disastrous earthquake in September, although Mexico did use its floor time to speak critically.
Already, “U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley invited representatives of countries who didn't vote in favor of the United Nations General Assembly’s Jerusalem resolution to a reception as ‘thank you for your friendship to the United States.’”
Donald Trump has always appreciated loyalty.
But what of the matter of ancient prophecy? Is there a connection between the UN’s vote and the Bible?
I would say yes, for at least three reasons: 1) The vote confirms international hostility towards a Jewish Jerusalem. 2) The vote reminds us that the biblical authors were inspired when predicting that an end-time coalition of nations would come against a Jewish Jerusalem. 3) The vote tells us that, just as Scripture indicates, the city of Jerusalem alone is the whole world’s business (see Zech 12:3).
Of course, this does not set a time frame for a united attack on a Jewish Jerusalem, and we don’t know if “all nations” in the words of Zechariah means every nation on earth or simply a worldwide coalition. But, after watching the last 2,500 years of history, coupled with the UN’s anti-Jerusalem vote this week, it’s hard to read the Bible and think that the writers just guessed things right. What are the chances of that?
{townhall.com} ~ Unless you are spending this time of year at a spiritual retreat cut off from TV, newspapers or internet service you cannot escape the blaring music and the marketers attempting to sell you something they promise will bring you happiness and peace.
The many definitions of peace seem inadequate at this or any other time of year.
In Washington, D.C., there is a modern-looking building housing the headquarters for the United States Institute for Peace. Established by Congress in 1984, USIP's mission is "to promote national security and global stability by reducing violent conflicts abroad."
How is that working out? Wikipedia has compiled statistics and a map of armed conflicts around the world. While the colors are attractive, what they represent is not.
Then there are instances of terrorism and mass shootings in major cities, not to mention conflict in homes, which result in alienation and sometimes divorce, creating a different kind of casualty for children.
The Person Christmas is supposed to be about offers a different kind of peace from what the world offers and is unable to deliver: "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." (John 14:27)
Jesus of Nazareth is speaking to his followers and promising them contentment in a troubled and conflicted world. Not being afraid is a type of peace, isn't it? We fear not being able to make enough money to pay bills, we fear losing a job or we are fearful of the road taken by a rebellious child. There is also the ultimate fear -- what lies beyond the grave? Answering that question can provide the ultimate peace, if one is certain of his or her destination.
People who work at the Institute for Peace undoubtedly have the best of motives. Preventing, or ending, conflict in the world is a worthy goal. Ending one conflict, though, doesn't produce peace. Sometimes warring tribes rekindle conflicts. The Middle East is an ongoing war of words with the constant threat of another war. Then there is North Korea and Iran and their threats to peace.
In Washington, political conflict is ongoing with both parties focused on achieving power, but having gained it, neither seems capable of doing much that benefits the country, preferring instead to put politics ahead of public service.
In the 1981 film "Chariots of Fire," Ian Charleson, who plays the Scottish runner Eric Liddell, is shown speaking to a crowd. He likens faith to a race: "You came to see a race today. To see someone win. It happened to be me. But I want you to do more than just watch a race. I want you to take part in it. I want to compare faith to running in a race. It's hard. It requires concentration of will, energy of soul. You experience elation when the winner breaks the tape, especially if you've got a bet on it. But how long does that last? You go home. Maybe your dinner's burnt. Maybe you haven't got a job. So who am I to say, 'Believe, have faith,' in the face of life's realities? I would like to give you something more permanent, but I can only point the way. I have no formula for winning the race. Everyone runs in her own way, or his own way. And where does the power come from, to see the race to its end? From within. Jesus said, 'Behold, the Kingdom of God is within you. If with all your hearts, you truly seek me, you shall ever surely find me.' If you commit yourself to the love of Christ, then that is how you run a straight race."
That's where real peace is found, at Christmas, or anytime. It is the ultimate gift.

{townhall.com} ~ Within hours of his victory in last year's presidential election, Donald Trump dispatched his lawyers to establish a nonprofit corporation to manage his transition from private life to the presidency. This was done pursuant to a federal statute that provides for taxpayer-funded assistance to the newly elected -- but not yet inaugurated -- president. The statutory term for the corporation is the presidential transition team, or PTT.
In addition to paying the PTT's bills, the General Services Administration, which manages all nonmilitary federal property, provided the PTT with government computers, software and a computer service provider. During the course of the PTT's existence, the folks who worked for it sent or received tens of thousands of emails. The PTT ceased to exist upon Trump's inauguration, and a receiver was hired to wind it down.
Last weekend, a lawyer for the receiver revealed a letter he sent to Congress complaining that special counsel Robert Mueller -- who is investigating whether there was any agreement between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin that resulted in the now-well-known efforts by Russian intelligence to affect the outcome of the 2016 presidential election -- dispatched FBI agents to the GSA looking for copies of all the PTT's emails and that the GSA surrendered them.
How did this happen?
When the FBI is looking for documents or tangible things, it has several legal tools available. They range in their disruptive nature from a simple request to a grand jury subpoena to a judicially authorized search warrant.
The FBI request is the easiest for the government, and if FBI agents ask you for something and you give it to them, you cannot later be heard to complain that your privacy rights regarding the things you surrendered were violated. If they seize your documents pursuant to a subpoena or a warrant, they normally get to use what they have seized.
The issue becomes more complex when the FBI comes calling for documents of yours that are legally in the hands of a custodian -- such as your physician, lawyer, banker or accountant. In the case of Trump's PTT and Mueller's wish for all PTT emails, the sought-after data -- the electronic copies of all the PTT's emails -- were in custody of the GSA.
Anyone who has ever used a GSA computer is familiar with the warning that appears on the screen at the time of each use. It says that there is no right to privacy in the communications sent or received, as the electronic versions of those communications are the property of the federal government. This, no doubt, is the reason liar-Hillary Clinton infamously used her husband's computer servers during her four years at the State Department rather than the government's.
We do not know whether Mueller's FBI agents merely requested the electronic data from the GSA or his prosecutors obtained a grand jury subpoena. If it was a simple FBI request and if the GSA simply complied, that was a lawful acquisition by the FBI of the PTT emails, yet in that case, the GSA violated its fiduciary duty to inform the PTT of the request before it complied with it.
If the FBI came calling on the GSA with a grand jury subpoena, that means Mueller's team must have presented evidence under oath to a grand jury and demonstrated that the sought-after items would more likely than not be helpful to the investigation. When a grand jury issues a subpoena to a custodian of records -- no matter who the custodian is -- it is the moral and fiduciary duty of the custodian, not the government, to inform the owner of the subpoenaed items that a subpoena has been received.
In some cases, it is also the legal duty of the custodian to inform the owner, but it apparently was not in this case. As far as we can tell, there was no written agreement between the GSA and the PTT requiring the GSA to inform the PTT of any document requests or subpoenas. Had such a request been revealed, the lawyer for the receiver of the PTT would have had an opportunity to challenge the government before a judge. Without that notice, there is no time for the challenge.
Until 1986, it was the duty of the government when seeking documents or tangible things from a custodian to inform the owner, as well as the custodian, of its intent. That fair procedure gave the owner of the records time to challenge the government before a judge. But the Electronic Communications Privacy Act of 1986 which has nothing whatsoever to do with protecting privacy, enacted at the dawn of the digital age, did away with that requirement.
Now if the custodian remains silent in the face of an FBI request or a grand jury subpoena, the owner of the documents loses his opportunity to keep them from the government. That is what happened here.
But there is more.
The practical effect of Mueller's acquisition of the transition emails could be devastating to White House staff who once worked for the transition. Many of them have been interviewed by the FBI while no doubt being ignorant of the fact that the FBI had read their emails. Stated differently, the FBI was in a position to lead Trump White House staff members into a lying trap -- just as it did with retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn -- by asking them questions to which the FBI already had the answers.
Lying traps are reprehensible, but they're lawful. And they are not unique to Mueller's practices; it is the way the feds work today. Can the FBI get away with getting the Trump team's emails? In a word: yes. This investigation is not going away soon.
Haley then berated her UN colleagues for their assault against US sovereignty and for their prolonged efforts to delegitimize Israel and blame the Jewish state for the absence of peace. In her words, “The United States refuses to accept the double standard that says we are not impartial when we stand by the will of the American people by moving our US embassy, but somehow the United Nations is a neutral party when it consistently singles out Israel for condemnation.”
The liberal media, led by The New York Times chastised her.
“Punctuating America’s increasing international isolation, the United Nations Security Council demanded on Monday that the Trump administration rescind its decisions to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and to put the United States Embassy there,” the Times wrote in a purported news article.
While attacking Trump and Haley for isolating the US, the Times and its colleagues failed to explain what an international community-aligned US foreign policy looks like.
Notably, just such a policy and its consequences were the subject of a 15,000-word investigative report published Monday morning by Politico.
“The secret backstory of how liar-nObama let Hezbollah off the hook,” by Josh Meyer, detailed how in the interest of advancing a policy supported by the international community, then president Barack liar-nObama imperiled US public health, national security and its allies.
As Meyer recalled, liar-nObama entered office in 2009 promising to turn over a new leaf with Iran.
By promising to turn over a new leaf in US-Iran relations, liar-nObama signaled his belief that the sorry state of those relations was America’s fault. Because if it wasn’t America’s fault, then no American president could change the situation.
liar-nObamaa’s assumption was entirely wrong.
The Iranian regime declared war on the US shortly after it seized power. Months later, the regime’s shock troops stormed the US embassy in Tehran and held US diplomats hostage for 444 days.
Despite an uninterrupted record of Iranian aggression, since 1979 every US administration tried to convince the ayatollahs to abandon their hostility to America. Iran pocketed every presidential concession and redoubled its hostile actions against America and its allies and interests.
Ignoring the record, liar-nObama argued he had the Midas touch. liar-nObama made his case for uniqueness to Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood in his speech at Cairo University in June 2009.
There liar-nObama legitimized Iran’s grievances against the US. He invited Iran’s leaders and their Sunni jihadist counterparts in the Muslim Brotherhood to work with him.
At the same time, he attacked Israel and the US’s Sunni Muslim allies.
By attacking the US’s allies and embracing its enemies, liar-nObama signaled Iranians and the Muslim Brotherhood that he was interested in a strategic realignment of America’s Middle East posture.
In its editorial following liar-nObama’s speech, the Times’ editors gushed, “After eight years of American arrogance and bullying that has turned even close friends against the United States, it takes a strong president to acknowledge the mistakes of the past.”
IN THE months and years that followed his Cairo speech, liar-nObama’s primary goal in the Middle East was to persuade Iran’s regime to reach a nuclear accord with him. Although liar-nObama and his advisers insisted that his nuclear diplomacy didn’t affect their willingness to confront and punish Iran for its other rogue behavior, their actions showed the opposite was true.
From his earliest days in office, liar-nObama turned a blind eye to all of Iran’s bad behavior.
For instance, just days after his Cairo speech, the regime stole the presidential elections. Then Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was declared the winner of the poll against his two chief opponents Mir Hossain Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi. The public, which came out in the millions for Mousavi and Karroubi, rejected the official results. Millions took to the streets in what became known as the Green Revolution.
Instead of standing with the Iranians in the streets demanding freedom, liar-nObama stood on the sidelines and so effectively sided with the anti-American regime against the Iranian people begging for American support.
In his report, Meyer showed another casualty of liar-nObama’s obsessive desire to reach a nuclear accord with Tehran. Meyer chronicled the shocking fate of Project Cassandra, a multi-year investigation led by the US’s Drug Enforcement Agency. The DEA probe involved 30 US and foreign law enforcement and intelligence agencies. It was directed against Hezbollah’s worldwide narco-terrorist empire, which netted Iran’s foreign legion up to $1 billion annually.
Project Cassandra investigators “followed cocaine shipments, some from Latin America to West Africa and on to Europe and the Middle East, and others through Venezuela and Mexico to the United States. They tracked the river of dirty cash as it was laundered by, among other tactics, buying American used cars and shipping them to Africa. And with the help of some key cooperating witnesses, the agents traced the conspiracy, they believed, to the innermost circle of Hezbollah and its state sponsors in Iran.”
Rather than support the investigation, which showed that Hezbollah was importing thousands of tons of cocaine to the US and using US used car dealerships to launder their drug money, the liar-nObama administration quashed it.
“As Project Cassandra reached higher into the hierarchy of the conspiracy, liar-nObama administration officials threw an increasingly insurmountable series of roadblocks in its way.... When Project Cassandra leaders sought approval for some significant investigations, prosecutions, arrests and financial sanctions, officials at the Justice and Treasury departments delayed, hindered or rejected their requests.”
Meyer reports that Hezbollah used its drug profits to supply Syrian President Bashar Assad with chemical and conventional weapons he used against his own people. It used its drug money to provide tank-destroying roadside bombs to Iranian-controlled Shi’ite militias in Iraq which killed hundreds of US soldiers. It used its drug money to build apartment blocks in south Lebanon which, as the IDF has documented, double as missile launch pads and storage facilities in preparation for its next war against Israel.
And it used the money to turn a slew of Latin American countries into US enemies and Iranian allies in Tehran’s war to destroy America.
As liar-nObama Treasury Department official Katherine Bauer claimed in written testimony before the House Committee on Foreign Affairs last February, “under the liar-nObama administration... these Hezbollah-related investigations were tamped down for fear of rocking the boat with Iran and jeopardizing the nuclear deal.”
THIS THEN brings us back to Haley at the UN on Monday, and the US liberal media’s condemnation of her defense of Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
In November 2015, the UN Security Council unanimously approved liar-nObama’s nuclear deal. The resolution was submitted by liar-nObama’s UN ambassador Samantha Power.
The EU, the Russians and the Chinese all happily partnered with the liar-nObama administration in concluding a nuclear deal. That vaunted, unanimously supported deal paved the way for Iran to become a nuclear armed state within a decade.
The international community – along with the US liberal media – cheered as liar-nObama attacked Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for daring to warn of the consequences of his nuclear pact.
At the same time, the international community, the Times and its liberal media counterparts all hid the news of Hezbollah’s narco-terrorism empire and its responsibility for thousands of cocaine-related deaths each year in America. Indeed, as of Tuesday, neither the Times’ nor The Washington Post’s websites mentioned Meyer’s report.
In her statement Monday, Haley said, “This is the first time I have exercised the American right to veto a resolution in the Security Council. The exercise of the veto is not something the United States does often.... We do it with no joy, but we do it with no reluctance.”
She added, “The fact that this veto is being done in defense of American sovereignty and in defense of America’s role in the Middle East peace process is not a source of embarrassment for us; it should be an embarrassment to the remainder of the Security Council.”
And it should be an embarrassment to the New York Times and its colleagues for their refusal to report why Haley and Trump are demonstrably right to stand alone and why liar-nObama was catastrophically wrong to believe that the US should stand with the “international community” against itself.
According to Title 18 U.S. Code § 201, “(b) Whoever— (1) directly or indirectly, corruptly gives, offers or promises anything of value to any public official or person who has been selected to be a public official, or offers or promises any public official or any person who has been selected to be a public official to give anything of value to any other person or entity, with intent— (A) to influence any official act; … shall be fined under this title or not more than three times the monetary equivalent of the thing of value, whichever is greater, or imprisoned for not more than fifteen years, or both, and may be disqualified from holding any office of honor, trust, or profit under the United States.” Oops.
O'Donnell probably didn’t actually expect the senators to oblige, and maybe, just maybe, her inducement was completely in jest, as she appears to be suggesting. But that’s also not the point. You really have to believe that you can get away with anything if you’re this willing to bribe two senators on Twitter, where it’s available for everyone (literally anyone who has Internet) to see. And it’s not like a precedent hasn’t been set. When like minded malcontents like Kathy Griffin are allowed to showcase a severed head of Donald Trump and get away with it, no wonder O'Donnell thinks she can engage in something that’s illegal. Hollywood elitists are more immune to the consequences of nefarious behavior than they are even capable of understanding. ~The Patriot Post

Jake Tapper Points Out Hypocrisy Of Thursday’s UN Vote
{townhall.com} ~ People often lament that in our celebration of Christmas, we tend to lose sight of its true meaning. Not to be a contrarian, but I don't think the two are mutually exclusive.
At Christmastime, we celebrate family, giving, tradition, friendship, community, love, goodwill and so much else that is great and good about human existence. These sublime experiences and institutions are wonderful precisely because our savior, in whom goodness inheres, created them.
With proper godly perspective, delighting in these glorious gifts actually enhances our focus on God; it doesn't diminish it. Of course, we must discipline ourselves, if it doesn't occur naturally, to give thanks to God and to consciously savor him and his gift of life to us.
This time of year, we celebrate Christ's incarnation -- his birth, his earthly example and his miracles and teachings. We humbly bow at the Crucifixion, marvel at the magisterial Resurrection and gratefully acknowledge our regeneration salvation in him. We cherish that he is truth, the judge and the very giver of life.
Unlike the mythical god of deism, our God did not create us and then callously abandon us to a desperate state of sinfulness, misery and suffering. He is not only the Creator but also the sustainer of the universe. The writer of Hebrews assures us, "He upholds the universe by the word of His power." The Apostle Paul proclaims, "He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together."
Though God gave us the freedom to sin and mankind subsequently fell, Christ became sin for us, thereby conquering sin and death. He offers us redemption and eternal life in his presence.
It is fitting that we celebrate Christ's birth, because his redeeming work on our behalf -- his death on the Cross and thus our salvation -- could not have been accomplished without his incarnation. It is all part of a piece. If he had merely been in form a human but in substance only God, his suffering, the Crucifixion and the Resurrection would have been illusory.
Paul wrote to the Philippians: "Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross."
Jesus wasn't just the greatest of all human prophets. He was fully God and fully man, a truth that Christians believed from the beginning and that the Council of Chalcedon formally affirmed in A.D. 451. "Therefore, following the holy fathers, we all with one accord teach men to acknowledge one and the same Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, at once complete in Godhead and complete in manhood, truly God and truly man, consisting also of a reasonable soul and body; of one substance with the Father as regards His Godhead, and at the same time of one substance with us as regards His manhood."
Christianity's critics sometimes question God's permitting human suffering, but the Cross, to paraphrase the late Pastor John Stott, smashes those concerns to smithereens. Christ understands our suffering and even our mundane problems because he became one of us and experienced what we experience. "For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin" (Hebrews 4:15).
Christ suffered -- so that we can live -- more pain than anyone who has ever existed. It was not only his physical beatings and passion but also his excruciating separation from the Father and his endurance of God's wrath for all of the past, present and future sins of mankind. Moreover, God created us knowing at the time that Christ's human birth and sacrificial death would be necessary. John tells us that Jesus is "the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world." A greater act of love is inconceivable.
Having become human and suffering as a human being, Christ is an empathetic, personal God, who is approachable to us and with whom we can have a personal relationship. "Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in the time of need" (Hebrews 4:16).
This Christmas, let's celebrate the wonders of our existence as human beings created in God's image and with the capacity for his love, which we must abundantly share with one another. Let's draw near to his throne of grace, profusely thanking him for the undeserved mercy he gave us and meditating on "whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable" (Philippians 4:8).
Nikki Haley Gives The UN Hell: Why Pay For The “Privilege” Of Being Disrespected
Despite the disturbing revelations attendant to this and many more that evidenced liar-nObama as dangerous and manifestly unqualified for the office of president, instead of doing its due diligence, the establishment press ignored these facts and functioned as a dedicated public relations arm for liar-nObama over the following nine years. The political left anointed liar-nObama as a messiah, and far too many on the right cravenly refused to criticize him for anything solely due to his ethnicity.
The instances of the press and others giving liar-nObama a pass on important issues before and after his election were legion. From his dubious origins narrative, to the question of whether he may have had former homosexual lovers killed to preserve his optics, to his chumminess with militant black nationalist groups, to his arming drug cartels and Islamists, the operational modality of just about everyone of influence in politics was clearly “hands-off.”
In the case of President Donald Trump, their deportment has been quite the opposite – meaning that these entities are acting toward Trump in precisely the manner in which they should have acted with regard to liar-nObama. Indeed, if the press and Washington politicos had pursued the truth pertaining to liar-nObama with one-quarter of the vigor with which they are dogging Trump, liar-nObama
While ethnicity was not the only factor in 2008, neither is it the only factor at present. Obviously, if candidate Donald Trump had represented a continuance of liar-nObama’s policies, progressives and hard-line leftists alike would have adopted a similar affinity for him. Since Trump represents not only a threat to leftist ideology, but to the entire political establishment, they have marked him for political destruction. To this end, they have engaged in the most unseemly machinations, all calculated to bring about Trump’s downfall.
Interestingly, many of the preposterous allegations being leveled against Trump are uncanny projections of liar-nObama, particularly those that accuse Trump of being autocratic, authoritarian, or tyrannical. One of the most prominent among the plethora of slanderous allegations the left has leveled against Trump is that of him being a white nationalist. This is quite ironic, of course, given that they slavishly supported a candidate and later a president who was a real, live black nationalist.
It isn’t the irony or even the implausibility of the allegations that are most significant at this juncture. As I have said previously, these actions smack of a deep sense of fear and desperation on the part of the left and Washington progressives, and manifest their increasing inability to relate to the electorate.
This, I believe, will prove far more damaging to them than anything Trump has planned.
In the 1970s and 1980s, I tended to look askance at those of my ignorant peers who viewed communism and hard-line socialism as somehow “cool” or trendy – the sort of fools who one might see running around wearing those iconic Che Guevara T-shirts. Did they not see the oppression and squalor under which those behind the Iron Curtain, China, Cuba and North Korea lived?
Last week, a young editor for BuzzFeed in the U.K. tweeted her desire for “full communism now” in Britain as a Christmas present. I couldn’t help but wonder if this person was aware that Christmas is typically outlawed in communist countries.
What a lovely idea, I thought. Yes, those in the U.K. would benefit tremendously from freezing in winter, bread lines, gulags, impoverished, drunken surgeons operating on children with instruments that had been spit-shined in lieu of sterilization by similarly inebriated staff, and so forth.
Thanks to the press and the culture that prevailed during liar-nObama’s presidency, we now have another generation of young fools as well as millions of older people who are ripe for the retrograde, oligarchical collectivist con.
The surreal nature of the manifestations discussed above are often quite difficult to mentally process: How indeed does one reconcile American equivalents of the idiot Buzzfeed editor, the homosexual who whines about inequality when there are countries that actually execute homosexuals upon detection, or the black multimillionaire celebrity who is too stupid to recognize that any disenfranchisement or inequity under which black Americans suffer has its genesis in progressive policies?
The histrionics and calumnies being advanced by the political establishment where Donald Trump is concerned, and their determination to find absolutely anything they can hang on him evidence the same sort of intellectual immaturity and desperation as that expressed by the petulant child who demands endless “do-overs” until they achieve the result they wish. They are desperately afraid that by the time Trump – a man who has failed at very little in his life – gets done stimulating the economy to an unprecedented degree, re-establishing America as the world’s foremost superpower, bolstering national security and giving the lie to the socialist utopia, all things progressive will have been so thoroughly discredited that very few voters – particularly unaffiliated ones – will be willing to get on the bandwagon for anything advanced by progressives.
In short, they fear total annihilation – their political death.
{themadpatriots.com} ~ It can’t be denied that Donald Trump’s biggest selling point in the 2016 election was his remarkable and uncompromising stance on illegal immigration... But while that position was given the lion’s share of the overall attention, his promised policies on the Middle East and broader national security concerns was also a big departure from those of the liar-nObama administration. In fact, they were just as significant a departure from Republican Party orthodoxy. Under a Trump administration, the Republican nominee promised, the U.S. would not bog itself and its military down in fruitless Middle Eastern wars, would not needlessly take sides in the Israel-Palestine peace process, and would not make the mistake of seeing enemies as friends. In this last point, the primary name was Iran. President liar-nObama didn’t necessarily consider the Islamic Republic an ally, but he did think they were trustworthy enough to sit down at a bargaining table and hammer out a historic nuclear agreement that some – including Trump – have called one of the worst deals in the history of global diplomacy... http://www.themadpatriots.com/politics/trumps-new-national-security-strategy-names-and-shames-iran/
{jewishworldreview.com} ~ "Soon on your holidays," a sentence that would typically befit the celebrations of the Christmas festivities, was turned into a terrifying threat posted recently on an ISIS-related network vowing to attack major European cities during the Christmas holidays. The post included pictures of Santa Claus being stabbed by masked ISIS terrorists, among other chilling images, including landmarks from the Eiffel Tower to Times Square. These threats and attacks did not just target western communities, but Middle Eastern ones as well, where churches have a history of being targeted by deadly attacks such as the one in Egypt in December 2016 when St. Mark Cathedral's adjoining chapel was bombed by terrorists, killing 25 worshippers and injuring dozens of others. Since that attack, the country has increased security measures to safeguard all churches and places of worship, especially in the upcoming Christmas season.
The recent wave of ISIS threats to attack civilians during the Christmas season has forced governments to tighten security in the face of what is believed to be a serious threat from the terrorist group which has suffered major defeats in the Middle East, namely in Syria, Iraq, Libya and North Sinai (Egypt). Consequently, the U.S. State Department has issued a heightened alert for all American travelers to Europe to exercise caution, particularly at holiday events.
Accordingly, these countries have taken drastic measures to safeguard the celebrations of Christmas this year and the following are a few examples of such measures:
Germany
Six suspects were taken into custody during a Nov. 21 raid on eight apartments by a police force of about 500 officers. These preemptive strikes have saved Germany from another devious plan that aimed to kill dozens if not hundreds of people. Germany experienced one of the vicious attacks by ISIS terrorists in 2016 on a busy open air Christmas market in Berlin. German police shot Tunisian asylum seeker Anis Amri dead four days later in a shootout after he had killed 12 people and injured 56 more in the truck attack. German authorities continue to beef up security measures to protect public areas, particularly the country's estimated 2,600 Christmas markets. Organizers in Bochum, for example, decorated concrete barriers protecting pedestrian areas with festive Christmas wrapping with bows. Armed police patrols have been increased and stop-and-search checks were introduced at venues across the country.
France
France was rocked by a series of terrorist attacks and mass killings in recent years. The French Parliament approved tougher new laws giving security forces unprecedented powers during emergencies. This action was inspired by the December 2015 Paris attacks, which left 130 people dead and 413 people injured. Officials recently canceled a Christmas market in Lyon because security costs would be too high. Paris's Champs Elysees Christmas market also was cancelled due to fear of possible attacks. In the famous Strasbourg Christmas market, police patrols have been increased and 140 private security agents have been hired for added protection. During the Christmas weekend, traffic will be restricted to the Grand Ile "Great Island" in the historic center of the French city, turning into it into a pedestrian zone.
Spain
Amid political turmoil following the Catalan independence referendum and a possible repeat vote, Spain can't ignore its security priorities as Christmas approaches. Spain has been a target of al-Qaida and ISIS terrorists for years, as it remains the crown jewel of their fabled caliphate. In August, Spain woke up to an attack in Barcelona when 22-year-old terrorist Younis Abouyaacoub drove a van into pedestrians, killing 14 people and injuring 130. In the days before Christmas, the Spanish government have stepped up their security in all the cities despite fears that the numbers of police forces are not adequate to counter the threat of ISIS returnees from Iraq. For example, In Barcelona, bollards and hedges were installed in the city center and around the Sagrada Familia Cathedral to stop vehicles from approaching pedestrian areas. In the Spanish capital Madrid, authorities placed 1,100 kg concrete blocks on the famous Gran Via shopping street Dec. 1 and won't remove them until Jan. 7. Plans call for closing the street to all private vehicles by summer.
United Kingdom
Britain endured a series of seemingly lone wolf attacks this year, including May's bombing at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester that killed 23 people and wounded 116. Security forces are using drones to give officers at a command center and other offices live images of potential targets.
Scenes of the unarmed English police "Bobbies" are being replaced by heavily armed officers guarding Christmas markets and other high volume areas. Moreover, metal detectors, large concrete barriers, and stop and search checks are highly visible at the open markets across the United Kingdom.
United States
The United States remains the prime target of all jihadist terrorist groups across the world.
Manhattan saw two terrorist attacks in the past six weeks Sayfullo Saipov's truck rampage that killed eight people on a bicycle path, and last week's attempted suicide bombing by Akayed Ullah at Manhattan's Port Authority Bus Terminal.
New York police are using sand-filled sanitation trucks and sharpshooters to secure Times Square celebrations, which is similar to steps taken last Christmas and during last month's Macy's Thanksgiving Parade.
While ISIS and al-Qaida suffered battlefield defeats in the Middle East, they are far from finished plotting attacks and enticing lone wolf supporters across the world to do their vile bidding. So far, the 2017 holiday season has been more safe and peaceful, indicating the increased security measures may have helped.

According to their accusers, the alleged Malevolent Seven are powerful pervs and creeps who’ve been running wild at NPR and PBS for decades, sponsored and subsidized by taxpayers and corporate donors.
In August, award-winning broadcast and radio host John Hockenberry departed from his public radio program “The Takeaway” on New York City’s NPR affiliate, which garnered a peak audience of nearly 3 million weekly listeners on more than 270 stations. Female producers and interns accused him of harassment and bullying before and after he deployed his golden parachute. Hockenberry says he’s “horrified” by the allegations.
In October, NPR’s former editorial director and senior vice president of news, Michael Oreskes, was ousted from his perch after several women claimed he forcibly kissed them in the 1990s while seeking jobs at his previous employer, the New York Times.
That same month, NPR launched an investigation of veteran Minnesota Public Radio host Garrison Keillor, creator of “A Prairie Home Companion.” The liberal icon penned a column defending fellow sexual harassment suspect Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., in late November; the next day, NPR fired him for inappropriate behavior involving at least one female co-worker. Keillor says the only incident he recalls involves inadvertently slipping his hand up the bare back of a “friend.”
Also on the Thanksgiving holiday chopping block: PBS fixture and CBS morning news star Charlie Rose, who reportedly groped, grabbed, phone-harassed and exposed himself to upwards of eight female employees, interns and job applicants dating back to the 1990s
At the end of November, NPR canned Chief News Editor David Sweeney following an internal review after four of the public radio network’s female employees lodged formal complaints involving unwanted kisses, attention and gifts.
In mid-December, Boston-based Tom Ashbrook, host of NPR’s “On Point” live morning show broadcast on 290 NPR affiliates stations for the past 16 years, was suspended after young women alleged he gave “creepy” sex talks, hugs and back rubs in the studio. Ashbrook says he was “stunned” to learn of the charges.
And last week, PBS suspended weeknight host Tavis Smiley, whose interview show airs in New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Southern California and nationwide – with major corporate underwriting from Wal-Mart. He also hosted a podcast on NPR. Smiley has waged an aggressive campaign defending himself against his employer’s witch hunt “gone too far.”
I can’t tell you who’s lying and who’s telling the truth, but I know with absolute certitude that all seven of these men are left-leaning journalists and pundits encrusted in the public broadcasting establishment.
This is a golden opportunity for President Donald Trump to drain the elitist media swamps and inject true intellectual diversity in the newsrooms of NPR and PBS. Liberal bias at these Beltway institutions is notorious – from NPR legal analyst Nina Totenberg wishing AIDS upon Sen. Jesse Helms and his grandchildren as “retributive justice,” to “Sesame Street’s” Oscar the Grouch mocking Fox News on PBS, to top NPR executives slamming the tea party movement as “scary” and “racist” to the undercover journalists of Project Veritas.
If pushover Republicans can’t bring themselves to fully defund NPR and PBS, can’t they at least step up and advocate for hosts and editors who keep their hands to themselves and refrain from insulting the people in flyover country who keep their rackets afloat?
What better time, in the wake of liberal hypocrisy and sexual harassment self-implosions, to bring real balance to government-sponsored programming?
So far, the moment is being squandered. The replacements announced for Charlie Rose on PBS are BBC correspondent Katty Kay and former CNN anchor Christiane Amanpour.
That’s right. Two liberal British female journalists.
Come on, Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Do better, D.C.
All things considered, we could use a little more “America First” and a little less globaloney and groupthink from NPR and PBS. I can think of a conservative female journalist or 12 up to the task.
