My old high school American History teacher would have had a field day with Mr. Hilliker.
Mr. Marquez was not only a teacher, but a debater as well. He loved it when a student would disagree with him, and start a class debate.
It was an indication the class was engaged in the subject matter, and everyone was paying attention, and he was doing the job he was supposed to do. Teaching!
His theory was, when students just sit in the class, and say, or do nothing but listen to a teacher drone on, it means they are bored, and not really learning very much.
