Don't Cave in Fellow Tea Party Members

Listening to Mark Levin made me think today.  He pointed out that the Tea Party Caucus was not supporting the truest Constitutional Conservatives because it wanted to support the candidates that are most likely to win.  I understand why, assuming for a moment he is correct.  Any Tea Party member should be more concerned about rallying behind the person that can beat President Barak Hussein Obama, than split the votes.

At the same time, we are in the primaries NOW folks.  NOW is the time to split the vote in order to get the best possible candidate for the country.  NOW is not the time to start giving in on what created the amazing movement, the ideals of smaller government, consistent, Constitutional representation and financial responsibility.  We must not, as a caucus, sit back quietly and let the media decide who are candidate will be.  Mitt Romney is not less influenced by big money politics than President Obama.  That is not to say he is a worse choice.  Obviously.  That is not even to say that I dislike Romney at the face.  But there is no question that Mitt Romney has changed his position on almost every issue including Romney Care simply to lead in the polls.

"Is Romney a trustworthy conservative?  If so, how so?" is the question posed by Mark Levine this evening, December 8th, 2011.  Can anyone answer this question for me.  The perhaps you will be able to convince me that you have put real thought into your lack of support for candidates like Michelle Bachmann or Rick Perry.  I admit, in closing that it doesn't look like they would beat Obama now, but if you heard that Bachmann was polling at 32% in Iowa tomorrow would you feel differently?  If so, then the media truly has affected your thinking.

The United States needs strong, principled conservative leadership more now than ever.
