Rep Peter King – DOJ Wants An Advance
Copy Of Memo So They Can Attack It
{rickwells.us} ~ Laura Ingraham points to the absurdity that the Justice Department has written Rep Devin Nunes seeking to get an advance look... at the memo that Nunes wrote to House members before it is released to the General Public. Rep Gowdy has already stated that the information used in composing the memo was all based upon FBI and DOJ documents, so they already have all of the information. Apparently they just want to prepare their defense and delay the release, which is typical of the obstructionist enemies of the people who still populate the offices of the two agencies. Congressman Peter King outlines the process that will be in place for the release of the memo, with approval from the White House, which, at least in theory and the Constitution, has control over the Justice Department, including the FBI...  https://rickwells.us/king-doj-memo-attack/

{washingtonexaminer.com} ~ The missing text messages between FBI officials Lisa Page and Peter Strzok have been located... Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz told Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and Senate Homeland Security Chairman Ron Johnson, R-Wisc., in a letter Thursday. The text messages were missing from a critical five-month period — Dec. 14, 2016 to May 17, 2017 — because of an alleged technical issue on FBI-issued mobile phones. “Forensic tools,” were successfully used to retrieve the texts, the inspector general said. Attorney General Jeff Sessions said this week that he had asked the inspector general to figure out if the text messages — roughly 50,000 — were retrievable. “Our effort to recover any additional text messages is ongoing,” Horowitz said Thursday, adding copies will be provided to Justice Department leadership so it can then determine “any management action it deems appropriate.”... http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/justice-department-inspector-general-finds-missing-fbi-texts-between-peter-strzok-lisa-page/article/2647061?utm_campaign=Washington%20Examiner:%20News%20Alert&utm_source=Washington%20Examiner:%20News%20Alert%20-%2001/25/18&utm_medium=email

clown-Schumer, Pulosi Ask Americans

{cnsnews.com} ~ The just-paused clown-Schumer Shutdown of the federal government... brought to mind one of the most surprising headlines I’ve ever read. Last September, Senate Minority Leader Chuck clown-Schumer, D-N.Y., joined with House Minority Leader Nancy Pulosi, D-Calif., to pen a CNN.com op-ed headlined, “Dreamers Are as American as Apple Pie.” If that pie came into the country illegally, I guess they’d be right. But I don’t think that was their point. Instead, clown-Schumer and Pulosi were trying to convince readers that the term “American” no longer means being a legal U.S. citizen... https://www.cnsnews.com/commentary/kay-coles-james/schumer-pelosi-ask-americans-defer-their-dreams-those-illegals?mkt_tok=eyJpIjoiTjJKa1pXRmtOMkkxWkRFMCIsInQiOiJoTjhVRmFMbUR3Y0t4Z0NLcUIzVHlieVpOeVJ1amdnVVh1Wm4yRXpWXC9PWndIc2s2aW5YQjVQRFp5Tk8xTVV6QXk4ZzF1Q2pcLzdISkNiMGY3QTBxa0d4UzFDNGVEQWFHS0l1T1p2dnZwcXJPaGIrUmFcL04yc01ab3g2OWJMZjNNKyJ9

The Moral Quandary of Merit-Based Immigration

{stream.org} ~ Take merit-based immigration. President Trump and Jeff Sessions support it... as do tech billionaires such as Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg. It’s supposed to replace a bad policy: a random diversity lottery plus “chain migration.” That’s where distant relatives of immigrants can come here just because they’re distant relatives. If we turn to a merit-based system instead, we would select immigrants based on their knowledge, skills, pluck, resolve and let’s hope desire to be good citizens. This policy would have a short-term cost: competition for labor among other highly skilled Americans. It’s just supply and demand: Assume everything else stays the same. If there’s a sudden spike in the supply of labor for, say, computer coding, and the same demand, then that will depress wages for that labor... https://stream.org/the-moral-quandary-of-merit-based-immigration/?utm_source=The+Stream&utm_campaign=4129f8cf5f-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2018_01_25&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_8da00e4cb4-4129f8cf5f-371883569

Pakistani Islamism Flourishes in America
by Sam Westrop

{islamist-watch.org} ~ On January 1, President Trump tweeted that Pakistan gives "safe haven to the terrorists."...
The State Department subsequently suspended over a billion dollars of security assistance and military funding to the country. The suspension of this aid is both welcome and long overdue. For decades, elements within Pakistan's government have openly supported America's most virulent enemies, including funding and training the Afghani Taliban and sheltering Osama bin Laden. Today, the country continues to provide support and sanctuary for the  perpetrators of terrorist attacks against the U.S. and its allies. But if the Trump administration is determined to cripple Pakistan's support for Islamist terror, it cannot limit its focus to South Asia; it must also confront Pakistan's Islamist proxies in the U.S. One of the most important Islamist networks running America's Muslim communities today is Jamaat-e-Islami (JI). Founded in British India in 1941 by the prominent Islamist theorist Abul Ala Maududi, JI maintains branches in dozens of countries across the globe. In 1971, JI terrorists helped Pakistani forces murder hundreds of thousands of Bangladeshis fighting for freedom from Pakistani rule. In the decades since, JI has been complicit in violence across the subcontinent. As a result, the U.S. government has designated the head of JI's paramilitary wing in Pakistan and Kashmir, Syed Salahuddin, as a "global terrorist."...  http://www.islamist-watch.org/28352/pakistani-islamism-flourishes-in-america?utm_source=Middle+East+Forum&utm_campaign=7bb68554f2-westrop_iw_2018_01_24&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_086cfd423c-7bb68554f2-33703665&goal=0_086cfd423c-7bb68554f2-33703665

{jewishworldreview.com} ~ The government shutdown is over. Democrats finally realized that closing the government over illegal immigration was a losing political battle. They created a needless crisis and got rolled. So who is to blame for their current predicament? Along with Charles clown-Schumer and Nancy Pulosi, Democrats can put the blame squarely on the man who could have legalized the "dreamers" when he had the chance: Barack liar-nObama.

During his 2008 campaign,
liar-nObama promised in a conversation with Univision anchor Jorge Ramos to make passing immigration reform one of his first legislative priorities, and even set a timetable. "I cannot guarantee that it is going to be in the first 100 days," he said. "But what I can guarantee is that we will have in the first year an immigration bill that I strongly support and that I'm promoting. And I want to move that forward as quickly as possible."

If he had wanted to act, he could have.
liar-nObama's party controlled the House, and Democrats had a 60-vote filibuster-proof majority. If liar-nObama really wanted to pass either the Dream Act or comprehensive immigration reform, Republicans were powerless to stop him. But he didn't do it.

In a 2012 interview, Ramos called
liar-nObama on it. "At the beginning of your governing, you had control of both chambers of Congress, and yet you did not introduce immigration reform. And before I continue, I want for you to acknowledge that you did not keep your promise." liar-nObama objected that he had made his promise "before the economy was on the verge of collapse. . . . And so my first priority was making sure that we prevented us from going into a Great Depression." Ramos was having none of it. "It was a promise, Mr. President. . . . And a promise is a promise. And with all due respect, you didn't keep that promise."

liar-nObama's excuse was weak. In the midst of dealing with the economic crisis, he championed liar-nObamacare and got other legislation passed. If passing immigration reform had been a real priority, he could have done it. And if he had, there would be no immigration impasse today.

Of course,
liar-nObama was not alone in failing to act. Who was in charge of the issue on Capitol Hill? On the Senate side, none other than clown-Schumer, D-N.Y. In 2009, clown-Schumer succeeded Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., as chairman of the Senate Judiciary subcommittee on immigration. In that role, the New York Times reported, "Mr. clown-Schumer would take the point in pushing for passage of a new bill." But clown-Schumer didn't push.

Neither did Pulosi, D-Calif., who was speaker of the House at the time and had the power to bring immigration legislation to the floor at will. And
liar-nObama also did not push because, according to the Times, the president "does not intend to get out in front of any proposal until there is a strong bipartisan commitment to pass it."

Funny, he did not wait for a "strong bipartisan commitment" before pushing
liar-nObamacare. But apparently immigration was not a priority.

By the time
liar-nObama got around to immigration legislation, Republicans had retaken the House. After failing to act when he had the votes, in 2012 liar-nObama announced he would implement Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, an unlawful executive action to effectively legalize the presence of illegal immigrants who had arrived in the United States as children. The Post's editorial board correctly called it an "unprecedented" move that "flies in the face of congressional intent," adding that "Republicans' failure to address immigration . . . does not justify Mr. liar-nObama's massive unilateral act." Even "Saturday Night Live" skewered liar-nObama's executive action.

President Trump was right to reverse
liar-nObama's unconstitutional decision. He had no choice. He also said at the time he supported letting DACA recipients stay, set a deadline of March 5 for a legislative solution and added that he would be willing to give Congress even more time if necessary. "Congress now has 6 months to legalize DACA," Trump tweeted on Sept. 5. "If they can't, I will revisit the issue!"

In other words, there was no crisis for DACA recipients. This was, as
liar-nObama said when Republicans shut down the government in 2013, a "manufactured crisis" - one that liar-nObama helped manufacture with his broken immigration promises. For once, Democrats were the ones making unreasonable demands. And now Democrats will have to pay the political price. If they don't like it, they can only blame themselves and liar-nObama.
