Just Who's Opposed to Indiana's Law?
Indiana's Religious Freedom Restoration Act stirred plenty of opposition, including from many corporations doing business in the Hoosier State -- Cummins, Apple and the NCAA to name a few. But National Review's Charles C.W. Cooke wonders how this is possible, writing, "We were told at the time of Hobby Lobby that companies can't have consciences. We were told that they can't have feelings. We were told that they can't corporately opine on moral or legal questions as might an individual, and in consequence they can't be worthy of praise or admonition. What, one wonders, has changed? It couldn't be, could it, that progressives are opposed to the idea that corporations are entities that are capable of holding opinions and taking political stands ... until they are needed in a fight that they care about?" Remarkable, isn't it, how "new" arguments present themselves when leftists have a bone to pick?  -The Patriot Post

SCOTUS: School Safety More Important Than Free Speech
On Monday, the Supreme Court declined to hear the case of a group of California students who were sent home after they wore American flag-themed shirts on Cinco de Mayo. In 2010, the Morgan Hill Unified School District forbade students from wearing American flag themes because it feared the act would spark racial violence. But the Supreme Court upheld the Ninth Circuit Court's ruling that justified stifling the students' speech. In an amicus brief, siblings Mary Beth Tinker and John Tinker wrote to the Supreme Court, "If students learn that threatening speakers is an effective way to suppress speech, this will produce more threats, and more suppression of a wide range of other speech. And beyond this, even peaceful students will learn that free speech must yield whenever its opponents are willing to threaten violence -- a message antithetical to all things this Court has tried to convey about the First Amendment." It wasn't always this way. The Tinkers were the two siblings in a 1976 ruling that students have First Amendment rights just like every other citizen. More...   -The Patriot Post

nObama to Pledge Goals for UN Global Warming Treaty
The nObama administration will announce today what the U.S. will contribute to the UN's effort to fight global warming and change the world economy as we know it through an international treaty. But the pledge to the UN will be a rehash of all Barack nObama's old dreams. According to the Associated Press, nObama will pledge to cut America's greenhouse gas emissions 26% to 28% by 2025 -- a war on cars, coal and capitalism. It's a move that'll make nObama's international cronies happy, but will probably face fierce opposition at home. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McCon-nell said, "Considering that two-thirds of the U.S. federal government hasn't even signed off on the Clean Power Plan and 13 states have already pledged to fight it, our international partners should proceed with caution before entering into a binding, unattainable deal." In the months before the UN's December meeting in Paris to draw up the treaty, look for the nObama administration to embellish the grandeur of it all: the legacy, the hope, the change. But this time, nObama has to work against a Republican Congress to enact his goals. More...

Ted Kennedy Institute Remarks a Bridge Too Far
Barack nObama spoke Monday at the Dedication of the Edward M. Kennedy Institute in Boston, which, by the way, cost taxpayers $38 million. Naturally, he spoke well, if inaccurately, of the "Liberal Lion" of the Senate. "What if we carried ourselves more like Ted Kennedy?" nObama asked. "What if we worked to follow his example a little bit harder? To his harshest critics, who saw him as nothing more than a partisan lightning rod -- that may sound foolish, but there are Republicans here today for a reason. They know who Ted Kennedy was. It's not because they shared Ted's ideology or his positions, but because they knew Ted as somebody who bridged the partisan divide over and over and over again, with genuine effort and affection, in an era when bipartisanship has become so very rare." Wait, did he just use the word "bridged" in a eulogy for Ted Kennedy? loose lips Joe Biden was even worse, saying, "He was an anchor to many of us." Mary Jo Kopechne was not available for comment.  -The Patriot Post

dinky Reid's Replacements Don't Exactly Inspire
The happy news of Senate Minority Leader dinky Harry Reid's impending retirement has lost some of its luster now that he's tapped Chuck Schumer of New York as his successor. So what do we have to look forward to? Schumer, now the third-ranking Democrat in the Senate, is one of the party's most prodigious fundraisers. He is also a shrewd political strategist who was the architect of the strategy that flipped 14 Republican-held seats in two consecutive election cycles in 2006 and 2008, giving Democrats a filibuster-proof majority to pass nObamaCare in 2009. The New York Democrat has an unrivaled reputation as a press hound. One of the running jokes in DC is that the most dangerous place in Washington is between Chuck Schumer and a TV camera. A number of Schumer's colleagues, including Minority Whip Dick Durbin, have endorsed him for leader primarily because of his extensive work in bolstering the Democrat caucus. He is known for burning up the phone lines to keep the caucus in line and for his dogged leadership at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and Democratic Policy and Communications Center, which he founded. Schumer has a reputation for being a pragmatic dealmaker ... with other Democrats, that is.  -The Patriot Post

America A Dictatorship – Latest Illegal Central American Assault
(rickwells.us) - We’ve all seen the level of criminal activity within the White House, the Department of Homeland Security and the State Department steadily trend upward over the last six years under the guidance of our illegal alien “president” and his cabal of anti-American co-conspirators...It’s reached the point now to where America effectively no longer has immigration laws in any real, practical sense. What we have in their place is a loose framework, a secondary structure of subversion which has been erected around our laws; an illegal state-sanctioned mechanism of violation, intended in the near future to create a de facto North American Union. Our sovereignty is being diluted and diminished on a massive scale by the criminal hands of this corrupt anti-American regime. Under the dictatorial nObama establishment, neither our agreement nor our permission is necessary to implement their mandates. He, Jeh Johnson and Hanoi John Kerry make the decisions around here and we, the insignificant peasant slaves, can just sit down and shut up. They know we don’t approve and they couldn’t care less what we think.       http://www.rickwells.us/america-is-now-a-dictatorship-latest-illegal-central-american-assault-removes-the-facade-of-representative-govt/

Hanoi John Kerry Begging Iranians For Something To Put On Paper
(rickwells.us) - Lt Col Ralph Peters finds it appropriate that the Iranian Nuclear Arms enabling talks were extended into April Fool’s Day, as “The Iranians have been making fools out of us since the initiation of these negotiations.”...Peters says, “And Stuart, I think we can agree that we’re begging the Iranians, Hanoi Kerry’s begging them today, as we speak, for something he can put on a piece of paper and wave around. And you know, begging is not a good strategy. It is not a good strategy in your romantic life, it is not a good strategy in your professional life, and begging certainly is not a good strategy when you’re dealing with a hostile, treacherous and crafty opponent such as Iran, which is pursuing nuclear weapons.” He asks, “How does Hanoi Kerry expect this to work, he’s like on his knees, ‘oh darling, please don’t leave me.’” Varney asks why the American “negotiators” don’t just pack up and go home, recognizing the reality that Peters is describing.       http://www.rickwells.us/ralph-peters-john-kerry-begging-iranians-for-something-to-put-on-paper-begging-is-not-a-good-strategy/

JW Sues For Records Of nObama’s “Terrorist Free Pass Into The U.S.”
(rickwells.us) - Judicial Watch announced today that on February 13, 2015, it filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to obtain a copy of an Office of Inspector General (OIG) report about an alleged “hands off list”...used by the nObama administration to allow individuals to enter the U.S. who had previously been barred because of suspected terrorist ties. The suit also requested any and all records of former DHS Inspector General Charles Edwards regarding the OIG report. The lawsuit was filed in United States District Court for the District of Columbia (Judicial Watch v U.S. Department of Homeland Security (No. 1:15-cv-00222)). Judicial Watch filed the suit after DHS failed to comply with a July 14, 2014, FOIA request seeking: A copy of the DHS Office of Inspector General report regarding, concerning, or related to a “hands off list” purportedly maintained by DHS, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and/or US Customs and Border Protection (CDP) used to allow certain individuals to enter the United States, who had previously been denied entry to the United States or been made to undergo secondary screening by CBP based on suspicion of terrorism ties.       http://www.rickwells.us/judicial-watch-sues-for-records-of-obamas-terrorist-free-pass-into-the-u-s-dhs-hands-off-list/

Military Historian And Adviser Sees “Stunning Capitulation” On Iran
(rickwells.us) - Military Historian and adviser Max Boot offered his opinions on the ongoing Iranian Nuclear Talks, in a session before the global elite at the Council on Foreign Relations...Boot commented, “But if we were to reach some kind of a deal on the terms that have been leaked, maybe somewhat constrain the Iranian program for maybe a decade but allow them to have thousands of centrifuges, not come clean about their past nuclear activity, not allow unfettered inspections, not force them to take reprocessed fuel out the country. He says, “If under all those terms we then agree to their primary demand, which is to lift the multi-lateral sanctions right away, this would be seen as a stunning capitulation, not only in Israel but in the Sunni Arab states. And I think it would in fact make the situation worse because I think the obvious Saudi counter-move is that they will go nuclear themselves if they see that the United States is acquiescing in a nuclear program in Iran.” He adds, “So that to my mind is actually a pretty frightening scenario.”       http://www.rickwells.us/military-historian-and-adviser-sees-stunning-capitulation-on-iran-as-triggering-nuclear-middle-east-arms-race/

Iranian Foreign Minister “all smiles” over nuke concessions from US
(Robert Spencer) - Javad Zarif, Iran’s foreign minister, said late Wednesday that he is “all smiles” as talks with Western powers over the country’s nuclear weapons program run past a self-imposed deadline and Tehran pushes the United States to make more concessions...When asked by a reporter whether he was feeling less optimistic following tension in the negotiating room, Zarif responded, “I am all smiles.” Zarif also demanded that negotiators stop pressuring him and the Iranian side lest the talks stall without an agreement. “Any agreement and pressure will not go together,” Zarif said. “They are mutually exclusive. So our friends need to decide whether they want to be with Iran based on respect or that they want to continue based on pressure. They have tested the other one. It’s high time to test this one.”       http://www.jihadwatch.org/2015/04/iranian-foreign-minister-all-smiles-over-nuke-concessions-from-us?utm_source=Jihad+Watch+Daily+Digest&utm_campaign=9f57af6dd3-Daily_Digest&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_ffcbf57bbb-9f57af6dd3-123451509

New Pro-Gun Rights Amendment Could "Shut Down Parts of the UN"!
(Tim Brown) - Several gun owner rights victories have occurred recently in the united States Senate, including a vote that shut down the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty...Among those victories is Senator Jim Inhofe's amendment, which Gun Owners of America claims has the potential to shut down parts of the United Nations if they stay on course with the ATT. First, Senator Mike Crapo (R-ID) added a committee amendment to deal with nObama's DOJ and their anti-gun Operation Choke Point. As a result, the bill wasn't even taken out on the floor of the senate. Well done, Senator Crapo. As you recall, Operation Choke Point was a huge overreach of federal powers by the usual criminal, Attorney General Eric Holder, which sought to strong arm gun businesses and other businesses the Justice Department deemed "risky" business, in order to put pressure on banks to sever ties with gun dealers.       http://eaglerising.com/16813/new-pro-gun-rights-amendment-could-shut-down-parts-of-the-united-nations/

Negotiators say preliminary agreement reached at Iran talks
(foxnews.com) - International negotiators said Thursday they've reached a preliminary agreement on Iran's nuclear program, and were holding a press conference to announce the details...Secretary of State Hanoi John Kerry tweeted that all sides have the "parameters to resolve major issues" on Iran's nuclear program and will soon get back to work on a "final deal." "Big day," he tweeted. The apparent breakthrough comes after days of exhaustive talks, which blew through a Tuesday at midnight deadline earlier this week, raising doubts about whether the negotiators could reach any agreement at all.        http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/04/02/preliminary-agreement-reportedly-reached-in-iran-nuke-talks/

nObama's hypocritical attack on Netanyahu

Obama's hypocritical attack on Netanyahu

(jewishworldreview.com) - It took Bibi Netanyahu nearly a week to apologize properly for his inflammatory comment on Israel's election day warning that Arab voters were "heading to the polls in droves." On Monday, speaking at his Jerusalem residence to a group of Israeli Arab community leaders, the newly reelected prime minister expressed his regret: "I know the things I said a few days ago wounded Israel's Arab citizens. That was not in any way my intention, and I am sorry."

But even after four and a half years, there has been no apology from Barack nObama for his inflammatory remarks just before the 2010 election, when he exhorted Latinos to generate an "upsurge in voting" in order to "punish our enemies and . . . reward our friends." Nor has the president ever expressed regret for his running mate's racially-tinged warning to a largely black audience in 2012 that the GOP was "going to put y'all back in chains" if Mitt Romney won the White House. In fact, the nObama campaign insisted no apology would be forthcoming.

Under normal circumstances, there would be no reason to link these episodes. But the White House pointedly reproached Netanyahu for his distasteful words. "This administration is deeply concerned by divisive rhetoric that seeks to marginalize Arab-Israeli citizens," nObama spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters the day after the election. The president himself declared in an interview that Netanyahu's "rhetoric was contrary to what is the best of Israel's traditions," and warned that it "starts to erode the meaning of democracy in the country."

Fair enough — except for nObama's egregious failure to meet his own standard. The candidate who captivated America with his promise to transcend partisan and racial rancor turned out to be the most consistently polarizing president in modern history. He hasn't scrupled to inject barbed racial comments into the nation's political discourse, but if he has ever candidly apologized for doing so, it must have been on deep background. nObama's contempt for Netanyahu is nothing new, but before he lambastes other political leaders for their "divisive rhetoric," the president really ought to take a good look in the mirror.

Then there is the ginned-up outrage from the White House over Netanyahu's election-day assurance that Palestinian statehood would not happen on his watch. Netanyahu subsequently stressed that he continues to favor a two-state solution in principle, but that under current circumstances — with Islamist fanatics rampaging through the Middle East, Mahmoud Abbas refusing to acknowledge Israel as a Jewish state, and Gaza a Hamas-ruled terrorist base — a Palestinian state isn't feasible.

A two-state solution remains the best outcome, and the Israeli prime minister's about-face is no reason for President nObama to follow suit.

Whichever Netanyahu position you take to be genuine, or even if you believe that his attitude toward the "peace process" is wholly driven by politics, it is astonishing to watch Team nObama going ballistic over Bibi's purported flip-flop.

"We cannot simply pretend that those comments were never made," intoned White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough, in a speech to the left-wing Jewish lobby group J Street. nObama claims he took Netanyahu "at his word" when he momentarily ruled out a Palestinian state. The prime minister quickly backtracked, but the president's fury hasn't cooled.

When Iran's Ayatollah Khamenei declaims "Death to America!," as he did in a speech last week, an unruffled White House brushes it off as "intended for a domestic political audience." Doesn't it cast doubt on Tehran's trustworthiness? Not to worry, nObama's press secretary assured CNN. Iranian negotiators have "demonstrated a willingness to have constructive conversations."

But there is no "domestic political audience" allowance for Netanyahu. If he says one thing today and something different tomorrow, the American president's wrath knows no bounds.

Perhaps Netanyahu should be flattered that nObama holds him to such a high standard of constancy. The president has certainly never demanded it of himself. On a whole slew of issues, nObama has adamantly taken one position, then cast it aside when it was politically advantageous to do so.

He stoutly told AIPAC that Jerusalem must remain the undivided capital of Israel. Then he took it back.

He endlessly promised voters that if they liked their existing health plan, they could keep it. Then he took it back.

He repeatedly explained that he didn't have the authority to unilaterally change or ignore immigration law. Then he took it back.

He coldly warned Syrian dictator Bashar Assad that any use of chemical weapons would cross a "red line"calling for a military response. Then he took it back. He firmly asserted that he was not in favor of same-sex marriage. Then he took it back.

Time after time, the president has come down clearly on one side of a controversial policy debate, only to walk away from it and end up on the other side. "We cannot simply pretend that those comments were never made," says the White House witheringly about Netanyahu.

Hypocrisy, thy name is nObama.
