Primaries show Trump GOP strength

{ washingtonexaminer.com } ~ The Democratic Super Tuesday primaries made all the news, but many states had Republican primaries, too. The results of those contests suggest President Trump is in an extraordinarily strong position with GOP voters... His campaign believes the turnout also indicates that the president's strength extends beyond Republicans to independents, as well. Trump won the Texas primary with 94.1% of the vote. In 2004, the last time an incumbent Republican president ran for reelection, George W. Bush, a former Texas governor, won the Texas primary with 92.5% of the vote. This year, Trump won with 1,889,006 votes out of 2,007,314 Republican votes cast. Democrat loose lips liar-Joe Biden won Texas with 716,030 votes out of 2,075,862 Democratic votes cast. Winning a higher percentage of the Texas primary vote than a former Texas governor indicates Trump's power in the party. And having such a large number of Republican votes in an essentially meaningless GOP primary, compared to Democratic votes in a hotly contested and enormously consequential primary, also suggests Republican muscle. The story was similar in other states. In Alabama, Trump won the Republican primary with 96.2% of the vote. In 2004, Bush won the Alabama primary with 92.8% of the vote. This year, Trump won with 695,469 votes out of 722,809 Republican votes cast. loose lips liar-Biden won with 286,065 votes out of 452,278 Democratic votes cast. In Oklahoma, Trump won the Republican primary with 92.6% of the vote. In 2004, Bush won with 90%. Trump won with 273,562 votes out of 295,409 Republican votes cast. loose lips liar-Biden won with 117,552 out of 303,977 Democratic votes cast. In Arkansas, Trump won with 97.1% of the Republican vote. In 2004, Bush won with 97%. Trump won with 237,863 out of 244,932 Republican votes cast. loose lips liar-Biden won with 92,586 out of 228,476 Democratic votes cast. In some states, there was greater Democratic turnout than Republican. In Tennessee, for example, Trump won the Republican primary with 96.5% of the vote. In 2004, Bush won with 95.4%. Trump won with 380,276 out of 393,969 Republican votes cast. loose lips liar-Biden won with 215,005 out of 515,440 Democratic votes cast. In other states, there are no 2004 numbers for comparison of Trump's performance; given Bush's dominance in the Republican Party, some states simply did not hold GOP contests that year. But Trump's performance Tuesday is still big...  https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/columnists/primaries-show-trump-gop-strength?utm_source=breaking_push&utm_medium=app&utm_campaign=push_notifications&utm_source=WEX_News%20Brief_03/05/2020&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=WEX_News%20Brief&rid=5261

telegraph.co.uk  } ~ Coronavirus has mutated into two strains, one which appears to be far more aggressive, scientists have said, in a discovery which could hinder attempts to develop a vaccine... Researchers at Peking University’s School of Life Sciences and the Institut Pasteur of Shanghai, discovered the virus has evolved into two major lineages – dubbed ‘L’ and ‘S’ types. The older ‘S-type’ appears to be milder and less infectious, while the ‘L-type’ which emerged later, spreads quickly and currently accounts for around 70 per cent of cases. Genetic analysis of a man in the US who tested positive on January 21, also showed it is possible to be infected with both types. The finding comes just days after government health experts warned that the virus could hit Britain in ‘multiple waves’, and led to fears that some vaccines might not work on mutated strains…    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/2020/03/04/coronavirus-has-mutated-aggressive-disease-say-scientists/?li_source=LI&li_medium=li-recommendation-widget&wgu=275405_73669_15834448475052_97b3d2615c&wgexpiry=1591220847&WT.mc_id=tmgoff_paff-30828_subsoffers_basic_planit_us&utm_source=tmgoff&utm_medium=tmgoff_paff-30828&utm_content=subsoffers_basic&utm_campaign=tmgoff_paff-30828_subsoffers_basic_planit_us

{ observer.com  } ~ If you are hitting the sky or railways, the new coronavirus Covid-19 could throw a wrench into your travel plans, as major air carriers... train services and local public transportation systems across the U.S. scramble to impose restrictions in an effort to contain the spread of the virus. At press time, there are at least 158 cases of Covid-19 confirmed in the U.S. and more than 90,000 cases elsewhere in the world. Earlier Wednesday at the White House, President Donald Trump met with CEOs of major U.S. airlines to discuss emergency measures to help protect Americans from the deadly virus. A day earlier, the president told a group of reporters that the administration may invoke a temporary travel ban with Italy and South Korea, where the number of new cases had skyrocketed in the past week. Several major airlines, as well as Amtrak and mass transit systems around the country, have already adopted proactive policies to accommodate travelers amid this escalating public health crisis. - American Airlines - United Airlines - Delta - Jet Blue - Alaska Airlines - Hawaiian Airlines - International Airlines - Amtrak - Metro Transportation...

{ washingtonexaminer.com } ~ Everyone itching to get their hands on John Bolton’s memoir will have to wait until May. The lengthy White House review process of the former national security adviser's book has bumped the publication date of The Room Where It Happened to May... The book was set for release later this month on March 17, but the White House must first comb through the memoir to ensure that no confidential details are published. Bolton has already accused the White House of “censorship” because of sections the executive branch wants to be cut. President Trump has argued that Bolton was a “traitor” and reportedly said he wanted to block the book altogether, while the White House noted that it contains information that has been deemed top-secret. Portions of the manuscript have already leaked to the press, including information about Trump’s phone call with Ukrainian leaders that became the foundation for the House impeachment process. Bolton wrote that Trump said Ukraine’s military aid was being put on hold until the country announced an investigation into loose lips liar-Joe Biden and his son and Hunter. Trump accused Bolton of coordinating the leaks from his book to drop just before the Senate voted to acquit him on both articles of impeachment in hopes of swaying some Republican votes. The former national security adviser denied that he coordinated the leaks and blamed the White House’s National Security Council's “corrupted” review process. Bolton’s book has already earned a place on Amazon’s 100 bestsellers list, which likely means a significant number of preorders were placed. He departed the White House in September after more than a year as national security adviser.  https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/white-house-review-postpones-boltons-book-release-until-may

CNN's Begala: Trump will 'dump Pence' for

{ thehill.com } ~ Longtime CNN political analyst Paul Begala predicted on Monday that President Trump is "gonna dump Vice President Mike Pence in favor of former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley" on July 16... when the Democratic nominee is slated to give his or her acceptance speech. The former "Crossfire" co-host "guaranteed" Trump will throw Pence "under the bus" because of his handling of the coronavirus, which the president tapped Pence to lead a task force on last week. “This is not a prediction. It’s a certainty. On Thursday, July 16 — that’s the date the Democrat gives his or her acceptance address — on that day, to interrupt that narrative, Donald Trump will call a press conference at Mar-a-Lago. He’s going to dump Mike Pence and put Nikki Haley on the ticket to try to get those suburban moms," Begala predicted during a panel discussion at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s (AIPAC) conference in Washington, D.C."You watch. Guaranteed," Begala said. “Trump put Pence in charge of coronavirus to throw him under the bus." "Mike Pence is a great vice president,” Trump said in November, while noting Haley would “absolutely” be involved in his 2020 campaign. “She is a friend of mine, she endorsed me with the most beautiful endorsement you’ve ever heard. She did a great job at the U.N.,” Trump added of Haley.  Begala is off his rockier. Its not going to happen.  https://thehill.com/homenews/media/485562-cnns-begala-trump-will-dump-pence-for-haley-on-day-of-democratic-nominees

Supermoon to Appear on Purim, then Passover:

By Adam Eliyahu Berkowit
{ breakingisraelnews.com } ~ The first supermoon of 2020 will appear on Monday evening as the holiday of Purim ends and the second day referred to as Shushan Purim begins... A supermoon occurs when the full moon coincides with the perigee — the closest that the Moon comes to the Earth in its elliptic orbit — resulting in a larger-than-usual apparent size of the lunar disk as viewed from Earth. A full moon at perigee appears roughly 14% larger in diameter than at apogee and appears up to 30 percent brighter. Supermoons usually appear 3-4 times each year. The holiday of Purim was set for the 14th day of the Hebrew month of Adar. As per the Book of Esther, the Jews who lived in Shushan celebrated Purim on the 15th of Adar. These two dates were established in perpetuity. The sages established this rule for other cities that were similar to Shushan, that is to say, walled cities that existed when Joshua entered Israel after the Exodus from Egypt. Along with Shushan (which is located in modern-day southwestern Iran), this includes Jerusalem, Jericho, and, according to some opinions, Jaffa and Tiberias. Purim also coincides with the vernal (spring) equinox when the Sun crosses the celestial equator – the imaginary line in the sky above the Earth’s equator – from south to north. On the equinox, the day and night are each about 12 hours in length everywhere on Earth...

China, Nike Team Up With Forced Labor
a7kaJnzkFXFsVZFSqZGuyrCuRw8wUpsFYHfVGEVqRuxJgQ4uowK1NQjswKecFo29BQOjmGvZV4bBj67dxmo6hkd5k-END4pVajK_PzhCHp3dHFsBShXoDAz-zUsOIg_j4YqNssSZe9_VPc32o1GqH594AhGYAbwGixySJSc=s0-d-e1-ft#%3Ca%20rel%3Dnofollow%20href=?profile=RESIZE_710x
Nate Jackson  This just in: China uses forced labor. But the latest report from the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) brings a twist: “The Chinese government has facilitated the mass transfer of [more than 80,000] Uyghur and other ethnic minority citizens from the far west region of Xinjiang to factories across the country. Under conditions that strongly suggest forced labour, Uyghurs are working in factories that are in the supply chains of at least 83 well-known global brands in the technology, clothing and automotive sectors, including Apple, BMW, Gap, Huawei, Nike, Samsung, Sony and Volkswagen.”

First of all, remember that whenever you’re told that the “free market” led to China’s rise as one of the world’s most dominant economic powers.

But second, note that the list of companies supplied by these factories includes such “woke” brands as Apple and Nike. The latter in particular might raise your ire, because the athletic-equipment company two years ago paid big bucks to make America-hating ex-quarterback Colin Kaepernick the face of its brand, even yanking a Betsy Ross shoe when he whined about it.

On his refusal to stand for our national anthem, Kaepernick said, “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.” But he has no problem taking a huge paycheck from a company supplied by actual minority slave labor in an oppressive communist country.

ASPI notes, “Local governments and private brokers are paid a price per head by the Xinjiang provincial government to organise the labour assignments. The job transfers are now an integral part of the ‘re-education’ process, which the Chinese government calls ‘vocational training.’” More than a million people have “disappeared into a vast network of ‘re-education camps.’” And, the report adds, “A factory in eastern China that manufactures shoes for US company Nike is equipped with watchtowers, barbed-wire fences and police guard boxes.”

Naturally, Nike denies there’s a problem. “We are committed to upholding international labor standards globally,” insisted spokeswoman Sandra Carreon-John. Suppliers are “strictly prohibited from using any type of prison, forced, bonded or indentured labor.”

If there’s one thing the world’s socialists have always had in common — from the Nazis to the Bolsheviks to the Chinese — it’s forced labor and “re-education.” Nike’s response? It’s all about the money, so just do it.
