What does the stunning outcome of last week’s British election mean for America’s most important ally? Manhattan Institute’s Anthony Daniels (pen name, Theodore Dalrymple) argues quite convincingly that the retention of incumbent Prime MinisterDavid Cameron is not a sign of Britons returning to their traditional political ways but is instead a harbinger of upheavals to come: “One of Britain’s prevailing assets has been its political stability. But that stability has evaporated, probably for good—with potentially disastrous results for its financial sector, upon which it so strongly (though foolishly) depends. Terrible political problems have been conjured out of nothing except the ambition of politicians, and the country’s deeper problems—its low productivity, its abysmal cultural and educational levels—remain not only unanswered, but unremarked.” -Fox News

DEMS DRUB nOBAMA ON TRADE, SEXISM
Rebuked on his top trade priority, President nObama’s waning clout and sharp divide with his own party were laid bare Tuesday as Senate Democrats blocked consideration of the Pacific Trade deal. Despite White House downplaying the rejection as a “legislative snafu” the president – who considers the issue “personal” – will have to ratchet-up his arm-twisting to save the deal. AP: “nObama went to work soon after the vote failed to revive the issue, summoning key Democrats to the White House to discuss possible strategies. Democrats said they had agreed to drop a contentious provision aimed at cracking down on countries that manipulate their currency, though it was uncertain that would resolve the impasse.”
[Yikes - “nObama advisers say the president sees Democratic opponents of his trade agenda as just as detached from reality as Republicans in Congress who held four dozen nObamacare repeal votes…,” Politico reports.] -Fox News

nObama’s attack on Warren deemed sexist - USA Today: “Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, chastised President nObama Tuesday for making the fight over trade legislation ‘more personal than he needed to.’ He was responding to a reporter’s question about comments nObama made dismissing Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., as another ‘politician’ and saying her criticisms of the trade deal were ‘absolutely wrong.’…[Brown] suggested nObama was being sexist by using Warren’s first name in the interview ‘when he might not have done that for a male senator.’” -Fox News

nObama fights currency controls now - WSJ: “Sen. Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) and other lawmakers in the House and Senate say President Barack nObama and Republicans shouldn’t pass trade legislation needed to expedite an agreement spanning the Pacific without also allowing a vote on binding rules on currency manipulation. … The nObama administration has sought to deflect such binding rules, saying they risk souring trade talks or putting U.S. monetary policy under scrutiny.”
Buuut… - When he was running for president the first time, nObama highlighted the issue of currency manipulation and promised to take action and touted U.S. bargaining power. In an April 2008 speech to the Alliance for American Manufacturing, nObama called then-President George W. Bush “a patsy” for the Chinese for not getting a currency manipulation deal. -Fox News

Hilly hiding - WaPo: “Clinton’s silence on trade, coming at the worst possible time for nObama, dovetails with her transformation into a presidential candidate eager to align herself more squarely with the liberal wing of her party. In other areas in which Clinton has moved to the left — such as immigration reform and gay marriage — White House aides have been delighted that she has forcefully embraced the president’s governing record. But on trade, Clinton’s hedge has left nObama without political cover in his increasingly bitter feud with Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and other progressives, who have fiercely opposed the pact as a boondoggle for big business.” -Fox News

Hilly Clinton - no reaction.
Don’t ask - Want to ask Hilly about the trade vote? On that and a host of other issues, so would the press. The Democratic front runner has yet to do a formal sit down interview since announcing her candidacy on April 12 and media reports say the last time she answered a reporter question was April 21 in New Hampshire. Fox News puts the number of press questions Clinton has responded to since her campaign launch at 8, which translates to one response every three and a half days. What about Bubba? NBC reports that over the past month husband Bill has taken more than 30 questions over the course of the three interviews. -Fox News

nObama Trashes America At UN, Inviting International Ridicule
(Norvell Rose) - When President nObama launched what critics widely called his “apology tour” shortly after his first inauguration, he made highly publicized speeches in a number of other countries in which he repeatedly pointed the finger of blame at the United States for its supposed past transgressions... For instance, he traveled to another country and chastised his own nation for having “shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive” toward Europe. Now, once again, the president has shown he is more than willing to paint the U.S. in a very bad light. He has put his stamp of approval on a report from the State Department to the United Nations in which the administration cites what it claims are widespread human rights violations within the U.S. itself. Breitbart News notes that the alleged violations cited in the report to the U.N. Human Rights Council include a number of so-called abuses which many say nObama and his radical policies have caused or worsened: http://www.westernjournalism.com/obama-has-just-thrown-his-own-country-under-the-bus-at-the-un-inviting-international-ridicule/?utm_source=MailChimp&utm_medium=email&utm_content=top-story&utm_campaign=DailyEmail05.13.15

Inspector General Said Hilly's Private Email Server Was A Concern
(Jeff Dunetz) - Buzzfeed obtained a series of e-mails from the Inspector General (IG) of the National Archives (NARA) where he voices surprise and concern about Hilly Clinton's use of her private email and server just days before the e-mail scandal broke in the NY Times... It's the National Archives that keeps all the employee emails for the federal government, so the IG should have known about the e-mail server because technically Hilly's emails were his to keep. What does this revelation mean? On one level it means that Hilly Clinton was not transparent about her e-mails even within the confines of the nObama administration. It also means that the Clinton e-mail scandal is not going away anytime soon. http://yidwithlid.blogspot.com/2015/05/national-archives-inspecter-general.html?utm_source=The+Lid+List&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=013b469e57-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN&utm_term=0_597b72c01c-013b469e57-291705165&goal=0_597b72c01c-013b469e57-291705165

nObama Subjects U.S. to Farcical U.N. ‘Human Rights’ Review
(Ari Lieberman) - The Geneva-based United Nations Human Rights Council has long been regarded by the sane world as a farcical organization consisting of the world’s worst human rights abusers... It is a place where nations like Saudi Arabia – which still implements oppressive Sharia laws, subjugates women and bans all religions except for Islam – sits in judgment of other nations and dictates to them ways in which to address human rights abuses. In metaphoric terms, it’s akin to the fox guarding the chicken coop. Driven by blind anti-Semitism and hatred for the “infidel Yahuds” who defile “holy Arab-Muslim soil,” Israel frequently and almost exclusively finds itself on the receiving end of the UNHRC’s hypocritical invective. Occasionally, however, the democracy stalwarts of the UNHRC will challenge the human rights records of other democracies. On Monday, the Council zeroed in on the United States and took great pleasure in needling the world’s greatest democracy. http://www.frontpagemag.com/2015/ari-lieberman/obama-subjects-u-s-to-farcical-u-n-human-rights-review/?utm_source=FrontPage+Magazine&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=393cfe3aff-Mailchimp_FrontPageMag&utm_term=0_57e32c1dad-393cfe3aff-156509103

CONGRESS WARNED 'CATASTROPHIC DANGER' LOOMING
(F. Michael Maloof) - The lack of a will among politicians in Washington to protect America’s future, and potentially the lives of millions of Americans, is the reason why there is no plan to secure America’s national grid system from an electromagnetic pulse attack, according to testimony delivered to Congress on Wednesday... Such an attack could come through nature, such as a massive solar flare that puts Earth in a bull’s-eye, but also could come through a nuclear explosion at altitude in the atmosphere above the U.S. Such an explosion would not necessarily have to be incredibly high-tech, experts have confirmed – simply a nuclear bomb that would produce those EMP waves that could kill much of America’s power grid. http://www.wnd.com/2015/05/congress-warned-catastrophic-danger-looming/

nObama Threatens Veto Of Defense Bill If Congress Includes...
(rickwells.us) - nObama is warning that he will not stand idly by as reason and common sense are inserted into the 2016 National Defense Authorization Act... Insanity and irresponsibility must be allowed to continue to flow from the White House in matters related to military affairs. At issue are restrictions on the ability of nObama to release terrorists from Gitmo and close military bases as well as a provision which allows for direct arming of the Kurds and Sunni fighters in Iraq. Current “efforts” to provide the arms result in them being intercepted by the Iranian-influenced government arms filter in Baghdad. nObama has threatened a veto if the restrictions remain in place. http://rickwells.us/obama-threatens-veto-of-defense-bill-if-congress-includes-restrictions-on-his-reckless-behavior/

(sharylattkisson.com) - Two and a half years after the Benghazi terrorist attacks, ex-CIA official Mike Morell and the White House continue with their litany of evolving and often conflicting explanations as to what happened and what went wrong... Not only do their statements today contradict ones they made previously, but at times they also contradict one another’s accounts. In an interview with Fox News‘ Brett Baier to promote his new book, Morell acknowledged what many documents and insiders have indicated from the start (but the White House and State Department vehemently denied): politics were in serious play when the administration mistakenly blamed a YouTube video rather than terrorists for the Sept. 11, 2012 attacks on the U.S. compounds in Benghazi, Libya. Four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens, were killed in the assaults. https://sharylattkisson.com/the-evolving-revolving-benghazi-story-from-mike-morell-and-white-house/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+SharylAttkisson+%28Sharyl+Attkisson%29

House Leadership to Ban Lawmakers from Amending Key Iran Bill
(Adam Kredo) - House leadership will not permit lawmakers to offer amendments aimed at strengthening a key piece of legislation that would provide Congress with oversight over any nuclear deal the nObama administration strikes with Iran, according to Rep. Ron DeSantis (R., Fla.)... DeSantis had been planning to offer several amendments to the legislation aimed at forcing Iran to disclose all of its nuclear-related work and provide international inspectors with access to all military sites. However, House leadership is planning to suspend normal rules and bring the bill to an immediate vote, preventing lawmakers such as DeSantis from altering the bill. http://freebeacon.com/national-security/house-leadership-to-ban-lawmakers-from-amending-key-iran-bill/

Congress Appropriated $4.2 Billion in Earmarks this Year
(Elizabeth Harrington) - Congress has appropriated over $4 billion earmarks this year despite a ban on pork barrel spending, Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) announced on Wednesday... The group unveiled the 23rd edition of itsPig Book at the Phoenix Park Hotel near Capitol Hill, revealing millions in earmarks for “fish passage,” “embryo adoption awareness,” and abstinence education. “The 2015 Pig Book continues to prove that any earmark is a bad earmark,” CAGW president Tom Schatz said. “At a time when members of Congress from both sides of the aisle and both sides of the Capitol continue to call for a restoration of earmarks, taxpayers should deliver a loud and clear message that it is time for earmarks to be permanently banned.” http://freebeacon.com/issues/congress-appropriated-4-2-billion-earmarks-this-year/

Could This Be Why Boeing Refuses to Hand Over Hilly Emails?
(Steven Ahle) - Recently a stockholder asked the CEO of Boeing to turn over all emails between the company and Hilly Clinton. Boeing refused. New facts coming out may explain why... In a previous story, I outlined how a multinational deal got Algeria relief from human rights abuses while Boeing got a 3.7 million dollar contract from Russia, which Clinton lobbied for. Soon thereafter, Boeing contributed 900,000 dollars to the Clinton Foundation. It seems the payoffs did not end there. After the deal with Russia was complete, Boeing hired Bill Clinton to deliver a speech to their employees for $250,000. Both Boeing and the Clinton Foundation deny that there was a quid pro quo involved. At this point, let me ask all of you a question. Where is the benefit that equals the $250,000 dollar speech or the up to $550,000 for speeches given by Hilly and Bill? Are they such great speakers that these companies benefit from these events? Or have these speaking events become a way to transfer money to a politician for access and help in future or past business dealings? After all, the CEOs who authorize these expenditures must answer to the stockholders. http://redstatements.co/could-this-be-why-boeing-refuses-to-hand-over-hillary-emails-the-corruption-chronicles/

Top Two ISIS Leaders Paralyzed, Dead – Gen Paul Vallely Weighs In
(rickwells.us) - J.D. Hayworth questions General Paul Vallely as to the validity of claims that the toptwo leaders in ISIS have been taken out of the fight... Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of ISIS, was reportedly injured in a U.S. airstrike while traveling in a car in Baaj, a town in northwestern Iraq, on March 18th. He is reportedly barely able to move, with spinal injuries and may have been permanently disabled and removed from the battlefield. His second in command, Abu Alaa al-Afri, a former physics teacher from Mosul, was elevated to the leader temporarily as a result of the injuries to al-Baghdadi. Reports are now circulating that al-Afri was killed along with many of his fellow terrorists while holding a meeting at a mosque in Iraq’s northern Tal Afar province. http://rickwells.us/top-two-isis-leaders-paralyzed-dead-gen-paul-vallely-weighs-in-warns-against-iranian-threat/
nObama's Middle East Debacle
Alan Caruba
.
.
(factsnotfantasy.blogspot.com) - I had to laugh when I heard that the new King of Saudi Arabia, Salmon, told the White House he wasn’t going to attend Thursday’s photo-op get together of Arab leaders. Some lesser Saudi officials will attend. The message is clear enough, so long as nObama continues to make nice with Iran, the center of the problems in the Middle East, the Saudis and the others are going to be wary of any proposal that comes out of the White House.
.
As far as the Middle East is concerned, nObama seems to have no idea of the history or the dynamics that affect all the actions there. His Secretary of State, hanoi Kerry, is no better. He met with Arab officials last Friday and they told him they want a defense treaty in the event they were attacked by “external forces”, something that the Congress will not approve so long as nObama is in the White House.
.
One would think that any President at this point would have concluded that the Palestinians have no intention of signing onto a peace treaty with the Israelis.
.
Writing in The New York Times on May 8, Jonathan Schanzer, vice president of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, put it bluntly, “It doesn’t matter what these politicians think now or have said in in the past. Peace between Israel and the Palestinians is not happening in the next two years.” That’s how long we all have to wait until nObama leaves office.
.
David P.Goldman, a Senior Fellow of the Middle East Forum, writing in Asia Times Online on May 10, spelled it out. “It is inconvenient for diplomats to say so, but the Palestinian Authority collapsed quite some time ago,” noting that “President Mahmoud Abbas’ term in office began in 2005 and ended six years ago, and he has not called new elections for the simple reason that Hamas—the Palestinian branch of the Egypt-based Muslim Brotherhood—would win those elections.” These days the Egyptians label Hamas a terrorist organization and have taken steps to eliminate the Brotherhood. At least they know who the enemy is.
.
nObama has been antagonistic to Israel from before he was elected and has made little effort to hide it. Consider this, as Goldman notes, “Hamas fired over 4,000 rockets at Israel in 2014, prompting Israeli counter strikes during the summer.” Its declared intention and the reason for its existence is to eliminate the State of Israel. Why are we surprised to hear that nObama wants to take the statehood issue to the United Nations, a hotbed of anti-Semitism, and has little to say of the Palestinian Authority’s assertion that it wants to drag Israel in front of the International Criminal Court for having defended itself against the attacks by Hamas!
.
Not only has the Saudi King sent nObama a message, but so did the Israelis when they overwhelmingly reelected Benjamin Netanyahu as their Prime Minister. “The Israelis look around the Middle East and see nothing but conflict, carnage, instability and danger,” said Schanzer. “The nObama doctrine—which includes a deliberate contraction of American power in the Middle East—has undeniably made Israel less safe.”
.
It has made the U.S. and the world less safe too.
.
One of the most obscene aspects of the nObama obsession with Iran is that, in return for any deal—which Iran would ignore and cheat—they are ready “to provide as much as $120 billion in sanctions relief to satisfy the narrow technical parameters of a nuclear deal, which would legitimize Iran as a threshold nuclear state. These funds,” said Schanzer, “will flow to Hezbollah, Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and other Iran terror proxies dedicated to Israel’s demise.”
.
To put all this in perspective, as Goldman reminds us, “From Israel’s standpoint, the Palestinian Authority was offered 95% of Judea and Samaria in return for a final peace agreement, and both times (at Camp David in 1999 under Ehud Barack and in 2008 under Ehud Olmert) the offer was rejected.”
.
“The U.N. Security Council,” said Goldman, “will punish Israel for the failure of negotiations that were meaningless to begin with, and establish a Hamas-controlled state within nine miles of the Mediterranean coast. Iran has already promised to arm West Bank Arabs, just as it armed Hezbollah and Hamas.”
.
Israel which has enjoyed the support of the United States since it declared its independence in 1948 is now put at risk by the first administration to deliberately turn its back on it in preference for a deal with the leading terror-sponsor, Iran, in the Middle East.
.
You cannot make a greater mess of the mess that already exists in the Middle East, but nObama is doing his best to add to it. What else should we expect from a President who refuses to utter words like “Islamic terrorism”?
.
