Congress Avoids Shutdown and Funds
Border Security ... in Mexicoby Thomas Gallatin

Why We're Divided
by Jeffrey Folks
{americanthinker.com} ~ Senator scumbag/clown-Schumer has rejected the President's request for funding a border wall, even withdrawing an earlier offer of $1.6 billion... As I write, Congress is working on a stop-gap measure to avoid a shutdown but with no funding for the wall. This action doesn't bode well for congressional relations in 2019. It reflects the underlying truth that America is more divided than at any point in modern history. It's not just the border wall. Sen. scumbag/clown-Schumer's response is the Bronx cheer to anything the President proposes. Nancy Pulosi follows up with her sniveling whine about how "he hasn't got the votes." What about discussion? It's hard to discuss issues with someone who begins and ends the conversation with derision and contempt for the other, and that's the default position of the Democrat Party today. Democrats are so reflexively partisan that compromise is impossible. Then they proceed to accuse conservatives of causing the division. And that accusation is the basis for more division. Conservatives operate from the assumption that politics is a civil discussion of ideas leading to proper decisions. There is a problem at our southern border, and it's getting worse. The Left rejects even this obvious truth. They support open borders and elimination of ICE, a policy that would invite vast caravans of millions of illegal immigrants along with criminals and terrorists in their midst. The latest Rasmussen poll showed Americans evenly divided about significantly expanding the border wall though among the President's base there remains overwhelming support. Politicians are divided, but that division reflects a fundamental truth: Americans themselves are so strongly divided that compromise seems impossible....
AG Nominee William Barr Lambasted dirty cop-Mueller
Tactics In Private Memo To Rosenstein
by Kevin Daley
{dailycaller.com} ~ Attorney General nominee William Barr sent a memo to the Department of Justice criticizing special counsel dirty cop-Robert Mueller’s investigation... particularly those aspects of the probe relating to obstruction of justice in June. The unsolicited document, whose existence was first reported by The Wall Street Journal, argues President Donald Trump’s dismissal of former FBI Director scumbag-James Comey does not rise to obstruction of justice, since the president was carrying out his constitutional responsibilities. “As I understand it, dirty cop-Mueller’s theory is premised on a novel and legally insupportable reading of the law,” Barr wrote. “Moreover, in my view, if credited by the Justice Department, it would have grave consequences far beyond the immediate confines of this case and would do lasting damage to the presidency and to the administration of law within the executive branch.” Barr conceded a sitting president could obstruct justice by destroying evidence or tampering with witnesses, according to the Journal. Still, he insisted that the president cannot commit obstruction of justice when exercising his lawful powers. Elsewhere in the memo, he warned that moving against Trump based on an inventive theory of criminal liability would inflame much of the country and compromise faith in the democratic process....
Palestinian Children: Victims of Arab Apartheid
by Khaled Abu Toameh {gatestoneinstitute.org} ~ Mohammed Majdi Wahbeh, a three-year-old Palestinian boy from the Nahr al-Bared refugee camp in northern Lebanon, is the latest victim of apartheid and discriminatory laws... targeting Palestinians in an Arab country. Wahbeh was pronounced dead this week after Lebanese hospitals refused to receive him because his parents were unable to cover the cost of his medical treatment. According to reports in the Lebanese media, one hospital asked the boy's family to pay $2,000 for his admittance. The boy had been in coma for three days before his death, but no hospital agreed to receive him because his family could not afford to cover the expenses of his treatment. The death of the Palestinian boy at the entrance to the hospital has sparked a wave of anger among many Lebanese and Palestinians. Addressing the Lebanese Minister of Health, Ghassan Husbani, Lebanese journalist Dima Sadek wrote on Twitter: "Mr. Minister, as residents, we ask you: Why did a three-year-old boy die at the entrance to a hospital, and who issued the order to prevent him from being admitted? Doesn't your ministry bear responsibility? Since when does an illness differentiate between a Palestinian boy and a Lebanese boy? What is your responsibility with regard to this crime?"....
Ex-defense chief warns US pullout from Syria
could spark ‘all-out’ war in north
by ALEXANDER FULBRIGHT
{timesofisrael.com} ~ Former defense minister Avigdor Liberman warned Thursday that US President Donald Trump’s decision to pull all American troops out of Syria could lead... to a northern war between Israel and Iranian-backed forces. Trump announced Wednesday that American soldiers would leave Syria as the Islamic State jihadist group had been “beaten.” The planned pullout was criticized by officials in the United States and Israel, who warned it could undercut efforts to counter Iran in Syria.“The withdrawal of the US from Syria significantly raises the chance of an all-out conflict in the north — both in Lebanon and Syria,” Liberman told Israel Radio. He said the US pullout would boost the morale of Syria’s President Bashar Assad, Iran and the Lebanese terror group Hezbollah, as the latter two fight on behalf of the Syrian regime in that country’s civil war... https://www.timesofisrael.com/ex-defense-chief-warns-us-pullout-from-syria-could-spark-all-out-war-in-north/?utm_source=The+Daily+Edition&utm_campaign=daily-edition-2018-12-20&utm_medium=email.
Senate Intelligence Committee Security Director
James Wolfe Sentenced to Two Months Prison time
by sundance {theconservativetreehouse.com} ~ The sentencing guideline for the single count of lying to federal investigators was: 0 to 6 months... After a rather sketchy plea deal, DOJ Prosecutors had requested an upward revision to two-years incarceration based on the severity of the conduct. The judge rejected the request for an upward revision of sentencing; and she rejected a victim impact statement from Carter Page outlining the damage to him caused by James Wolfe’s leaking… In essence, James Wolfe became the benefactor of a corrupt FBI/DOJ trying to protect the Senate Intelligence Committee from scrutiny. If you have followed the case against SSCI Security Director James Wolfe you will note the original indictment against him outlined, obliquely, how Wolfe took custody of the Carter Page FISA application and then leaked it to his concubine at Buzzfeed Ms. Ali Watkins. The leak of the FISA application was a rather explosive issue not readily identified when Wolfe’s indictment was first presented (June ’18). It was only possible to connect the dots after the FISA application was released (July ’18) and a comparison on specific dates, times, contacts and chain-of-custody, was possible...

Congress Avoids Shutdown and Funds Border Security ...
in Mexicoby Thomas Gallatin: There’s no two ways about it — Democrats won the latest showdown with President Donald Trump on funding the border wall. Trump backed off his funding demands as Congress came to an agreement on a spending deal that averts a government shutdown. Once again, Trump has been thwarted on immigration policy. And fulfilling his signature campaign promise won’t get any easier with the House coming under the control of Rep. Nancy Pulosi (CA) and her Democrat #Resistance army. While the ultimate blame for failure to fund the border wall falls on Congress — specifically Republicans, who failed to use their majority to pass legislation — the lion’s share of this political defeat falls on the president.
The reason: Trump failed to follow through on his threat to play hardball last week when he boldly proclaimed to Senate Minority Leader Chuck scumbag/clown-Schumer (D-NY) and incoming House Speaker Pulosi, “I am proud to shut down the government for border security because the people of this country don’t want criminals and people that have lots of problems and drugs pouring into our country. So, I will take the mantle. I will be the one to shut it down. I’m not going to blame you for it. The last time you shut it down, it didn’t work. I will take the mantle of shutting down.” Well, it now appears that Trump had second thoughts on taking up the shutdown “mantle.” It was an empty threat at that, which should be a lesson to him.
And to add insult to injury, the spending deal includes $10.6 billion in funds given to Mexico to help pay for its own border security. What happened to building a wall that Mexico would pay for? That said, as bad as the political optics of this look for Trump, it’s actually not a bad deal in terms of stemming the tide of illegal immigration at its source.
Finally, even from a minority position Democrats have been exceedingly effective in blocking Trump on a campaign issue that they themselves were in favor of a mere decade ago. At this point it’s hard to see Trump ever getting this wall.
Update: Trump has reconsidered and will not back off his demand for wall funding. House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) recently addressed the issue stating, “We just had a very long productive meeting with the president. The president informed us that he will not sign the bill that came up from the senate last evening because of his legitimate concerns for border security.” ~The Patriot Post
