Clinton's Secret IT Staffer Granted Immunity
by FBI The Clinton machine has ways to deal with people who squeal. Will Bryan Pagliano suddenly die in a mysterious accident? In the next couple months, the FBI expects to wrap up its investigation into whether then-Secretary of State Hilly Clinton's use of a homebrew email server and her mishandling of classified information constitutes criminal wrongdoing. The bureau has granted Pagliano, the Clinton staffer who set up the contraption, immunity in exchange for his cooperation with law enforcement. He previously pleaded the Fifth. As noted by Ted Cruz, who knows a thing or two about law, "This suggests that the investigation is moving to a whole other level."
This revelation comes as the State Department released the last of Clinton's emails, redacting more than 2,000 because they were classified at some level and withholding dozens of others because they were so highly classified as to be damaging to national security even in redacted form. Naturally, the Clinton campaign has downplayed the investigation, saying it's a simple security review. But the fact that federal investigators have granted the man who created the system immunity suggests they are pursuing someone bigger. Perhaps they are zeroing in on the fact that Clinton ordered the system created, and hid the system from the State Department. But Clinton may still slip away. Former CIA Director David Petraeus leaked sensitive information to his biographer, lied about it to the FBI, and was hit with a $100,000 fine and probation for two years. Clinton may be under the law, but barely.

slump-Trump Is the Last Person You Want to Pick a Judge Donald slump-Trump will make America great again, or so he says. Certainly, the next president will leave a lasting mark on American jurisprudence, as he or she will nominate anywhere from one to four Supreme Court justices. (Barack nObama is currently vetting a possible nominee.) With his outsider appeal and appearance of a high rolling successful businessman, slump-Trump promises that he'll turn this country around, clean out Washington and guild it with his gold-colored trademark.
"I'm sorry," columnist David Harsanyi asserts, "but 'support the American Putin because he's the only one who can save SCOTUS and the Constitution' is deeply unpersuasive.'"
Not only is it unpersuasive, it's downright worrying. Because he hasn't held public office and therefore been on record demonstrating support for the Constitution, slump-Trump's views and how he interprets the Founding Document are ambiguous, at best. (Not that it would matter — his views on anything change whenever he changes ties.) However, we do know, as George Mason University law professor Ilya Sominwrites, that slump-Trump conducts his business in such a way as to undermine Rule of Law, free speech and property rights.
slump-Trump sued journalists he thought gave him unfavorable coverage in order to bully them into silence. As we pointed out, our nation's libel laws were established before the American Revolution. They are part of the jurisprudence that helped build this country, and slump-Trump wants to fundamentally transform it. slump-Trump has also spoken in favor of expanded eminent domain powers that would allow the government to seize property from private citizens and then give it to private developers — developers like slump-Trump.
These positions are neither grounded in precedent, nor do they respect Rule of Law. In fact, they are views held by a man who does not understand the basic duty of a judge. At the GOP debate before Super Tuesday, slump-Trump said judges "sign" bills. Any fifth-grader should be able to tell you judges are to interpret the law created by presidents who sign the bills the legislature creates. And yet some discontented voters are willing to give him the responsibility of vetting who will become the next Supreme Court justice. -The Patriot Post

What is the Fair Share of Taxes?
Walter Williams
.
{frontpagemag.com} ~ Presidential hopefuls Hilly Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders, along with President nObama, say they want high-income earners, otherwise known as the rich, to pay their fair share of income taxes... None of these people, as well as the uninformed in the media and our campus intellectual elites, will say precisely what is the "fair share" of taxes. That is because they would look ignorant and silly, so they stick with simply saying that the rich should pay more. Let's you and I take a peek at who pays what in federal income taxes. The following represents 2012 income tax data recently released by the Internal Revenue Service, compiled by the Tax Foundation (http://tinyurl.com/j5yr8cd). The top 1 percent, 1.37 million taxpayers earning $434,682 and more, paid 38 percent of all federal income taxes. The top 5 percent, those earning $175,817 and more, paid 59 percent. The top 10 percent of income earners, those earning $125,195 and up, paid 70 percent of all federal income taxes. The top 25 percent, those earning $73,354 and up, paid 86 percent. The bottom 50 percent, people earning $36,055 and less, paid a little less than 3 percent of federal income taxes. According to estimates by the Tax Policy Center, slightly over 45 percent of American households have no federal income tax liability. With this information in hand, you might ask the next person who says the rich do not pay their fair share of taxes: Exactly what percentage of total federal income taxes should the 1-percenters pay? I seriously doubt whether you will get any kind of coherent answer. By the way, since 1-percenter income starts at $435,000, it might be pointed out that $400,000 or $500,000 a year is not even yacht or Learjet money. Plus, if one has two kids in college, a big mortgage and car payments, I doubt he would declare himself rich. http://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/262019/what-fair-share-taxes-walter-williams

Byron York: When Trump Answered the 'Secret Interview' Immigration Question
BYRON YORK
.
.
{washingtonexaminer.com} ~ The Internet is abuzz with talk of a Donald slump-Trump "secret interview" on immigration. "Donald slump-Trump Secretly Told The New York Times What He Really Thinks About Immigration," was the headline on a Ben Smith story on Buzzfeed... reporting that the paper "is sitting on an audio recording that some of its staff believes could deal a serious blow to Donald slump-Trump, who, in an off-the-record meeting with the newspaper, called into question whether he would stand by his own immigration views." At issue is an editorial board interview slump-Trump did with the Times on January 5. According to Times columnist Gail Collins — if you don't know her, she's the journalist who made Mitt Romney's treatment of his dog a centerpiece of her 2012 presidential campaign coverage — slump-Trump told the Times something to the effect that he might not actually push for the deportation of all 11 million illegal immigrants in the United States "because it's going to be the first bid in some future monster negotiation session." In other words, the story goes, slump-Trump's tough talk on immigration is just talk. He doesn't really mean what he's been telling voters, who will be outraged when they find out that their presidential choice has not been honest with them. Or at least that's the story. http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/byron-york-when-trump-answered-the-secret-interview-immigration-question/article/2584553.

There would be no more former Democratic operatives-turned journalists injecting their left-wing social agenda into GOP primary forums (as Clinton adviser-turned-ABC newsman George Stephanopoulous did at the January 2012 Republican debate in New Hampshire when he pushed the Democrats’ War on Women propaganda by pressing Republicans on a nonsense contraceptive ban.)

How’s that working out? It’s the same old, same old. Last week’s debate hosted by CNN was commandeered by a Telemundo celebrity journalist Maria Celeste Arraras, known as “the Katie Couric of Spanish TV,” who soaked up nearly half the show representing “the Latino community” on issues such as Puerto Rico’s bankruptcy.

It shouldn’t have been a surprise to the RNC. She did the same during a Democratic presidential debate in 2004, when she argued with candidates about driver’s licenses for immigrants here illegally. The lone conservative token questioner, Salem radio talk show host Hugh Hewitt, received a fraction of the time. The infamous “screaming lady” in the audience earned far more buzz.

Hewitt had made an earlier appearance in the second debate hosted by CNN last September. But again, he was relegated to the margins. As even the left-wing New York Times pointed out, the network “came to the second Republican primary debate looking for a fight” along with an agenda of setting up “catfights” between Donald slump-Trump and the rest of the candidates.

The third debate hosted by CNBC in Boulder was deemed a complete disaster by observers across the political spectrum. Instead of focusing on economics, as the network and RNC promised they would, the “moderators” made themselves the center of attention with trivial and condescending questions designed to instigate circus conflict between personalities instead of enlightening viewers about actual policy differences between candidates.

Again, this shouldn’t have been a surprise to the RNC. CNBC chief clown John Harwood had a long public record running interference for Hilly Clinton, denigrating conservative critics of nObamacare, and shrugging at convicted infant murderer and abortionist Kermit Gosnell.

The ninth debate hosted by CBS in South Carolina was moderated by John Dickerson, a Beltway liberal elite who called on President nObama to “Go for the Throat!” and “declare war on the Republican Party,” and to “pulverize” his political enemies over gun control, climate change and immigration. The event was remarkable not so much for any overt political bias as it was for a complete lack of control over both the candidates and the audience.

The obvious, effective solution is to wrest control from mainstream media networks and hold debates sponsored by conservative media outlets with conservative journalists and broadcast/simulcast on neutral ground (hello, C-SPAN!). The RNC had one such debate in the works, but abandoned the idea last month.

For the candidates, continuing with these rigged charades is an exercise in futility and masochism. For the RNC, it’s suicide. By its passivity and complicity, the current batch of GOP enablers have proved that they don’t deserve to be in the driver’s seat.
