Trump Keeps His Promise – Congress In Disbelief
{conservativehq.com} ~ Members of Congress – of both political parties – reacted with stunned disbelief when President Trump did what he promised and announced yesterday that he would not sign a continuing resolution... or any other spending bill, that did not meet his border security goals. “I’ve made my position very clear: any measure that funds the government must include border security,” the president said Thursday during a White House event. Democratic leaders were incredulous that Trump intended to fight for the Wall, with the Senate’s Minority Leader New York’s Charles scumbag/clown-Schumer, saying the president was throwing a "temper tantrum." House Speaker Paul Ryan, and House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, told reporters after meeting the president at the White House that Trump told them he will not sign the stopgap spending measure approved by the Senate Wednesday night because of “legitimate concerns for border security.” The House of Representatives later Thursday approved a bill that would fund most of the federal government through early February -- and provides $5.7 billion for President Trump's long-promised border wall. Eight Republicans joined all 177 voting Democrats to oppose the measure, which passed 217-185. Squishy Republicans, such as Rep. rino-Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, a Florida Republican who is retiring at year's end, voted against the revised plan that would send $5 billion to the wall...

Not To Stand In The Way Of A ‘Green New Deal’

{dailycaller.com} ~ The progressive bloc of House Democrats supporting a “Green New Deal” have a warning for their more moderate colleagues... Don’t get in the way of creating a “strong” climate committee. “I think it’s in the political self-interest of people like Frank Pallone to be supporting a strong select committee,” said Democratic California Rep. Ro Khanna, Politico reported Thursday. “If I were looking at the politics and the movement and how strong the movement is, I’d be out there cheer leading for creating a strong committee and saying I look forward to working in partnership with that committee,” Khanna said. New Jersey Rep. Frank Pallone and other top Democrats oppose creating a House climate change committee, preferring to shepherd any related legislation through the existing committee structure. Global warming wasn’t a top issue in the 2018 elections, but liberal Democrats are pushing for the House to put a major emphasis on the issue in 2019....

{dailycaller.com} ~ The United States and a score of other western allies joined together Thursday to blame China for a more than decade-long effort to gobble up trade secrets... and technology from a dozen countries. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin blocked a proposal to impose sanctions on Chinese agents implicated in hackings, The Washington Post reported, citing sources familiar with the matter. Mnuchin blocked the measure out of fear it would interfere with U.S.-China trade talks. Thursday’s accusations came as the Department of Justice unveiled indictments against two Chinese hackers, who it said acted “in association with” the Chinese Ministry of State Security (MSS). Two members of a hacking squad known as “Advanced Persistent Threat 10” were accused of conspiracy to commit computer intrusions and wire fraud, the indictment said. They allegedly presided over a Chinese-government-backed campaign of cyber theft targeting advanced technologies with commercial and military applications. A border also marks the enforcement of the laws that we use to build a national community, including providing an effective deterrent against illegal immigration. I represent a border state, and I know the system. If our laws don’t work, then our borders don’t work. Malevolent people have created a crisis by finding and exploiting flaws in our immigration laws. A series of court rulings, glitches in the asylum system, and well-intentioned but flawed legislation have combined to open a gigantic hole in the legal architecture of immigration enforcement. The pre-election migrant caravan is only a symptom of a larger, quieter, slow-moving migration catastrophe known as “catch-and-release.” Most people believe that when an alien is detained (caught) at the border, he is then expeditiously deported to his home country. That is the ideal of the current system, but it is far from the reality. Every year, tens of thousands of aliens are caught, then released into the interior of the United States. Many never show up for their immigration hearings and pass into the interior of the country, where they are almost never deported. Communist Antifa Leader Unmaskedby Political Editors: Smash Racism DC is the antifa outfit that chased Ted Cruz out of a restaurant in September and mobbed the home of Fox News host Tucker Carlson in November. It’s but a small arm of the national fascist “anti-fascist” movement coming to a theater near you. The leader of this movement had, of course, been operating pseudonymously out of the shadows — a convenient place from which to threaten and intimidate public figures while reducing his own personal risk. Well, thanks to The Daily Caller, we now know that “Jose Martin” and “Chepe” is actually Joseph “Jose” Alcoff.
The Caller notes, “Identifying as ‘Chepe,’ Alcoff advocates for the violent overthrow of the government and for the murder of the rich. He has relished the mainstreaming of Antifa’s militant tactics in the Trump era.”
Alcoff was also previously an organizer of Occupy Wall Street and “Cop Watch.” And a sampling of his other rhetoric is truly deplorable:
"#DearRichPeople die in a fire, or someday we will kill you in a fire.“ "Police lives don’t matter. They can all burn in Hell.” “I hate this country. It isn’t half bad. It’s all bad.”
“I truly hope [Trump] has a very public death at the hands of the pitchfork wielding exploited, a public execution that befits Trump’s stature.”
Unmasking him would have been less relevant but for the violence Alcoff foments. And not just random violence, either. Alcoff hypocritically declared in 2016, “You have to expose them and you have to expose where they live, their names, what they do for a living. Never let them be anonymous, and never just push their rhetoric without directly countering it.”
It’s time to force Democrat leaders to answer for their fringe constituents in the same way President Donald Trump has been forced to deal with his. ~The Patriot Post
