{jpost.com} ~ Thursday, February 28, 2019, will be remembered as a historic day for Israel. A sitting prime minister has been informed – pending a hearing – that he will be indicted... The charges, it is important to keep in mind, are for crimes he allegedly committed as Israel’s leader.  Netanyahu’s predecessor, Ehud Olmert, stepped down as prime minister in 2009 and resigned from politics after the initial police recommendation that he be indicted. He ended up being sent to jail, but in contrast to Netanyahu, the crime he was convicted of – taking a $15,000 bribe – was when he was mayor of Jerusalem, years before he became Israel’s prime minister. The indictments against Netanyahu refer to crimes he is suspected of committing over the last few years while serving as Israel’s prime minister.  More than historic though, Thursday will be remembered as a sad day, not just for the people who support Benjamin Netanyahu and believe he is innocent and the victim of political persecution, but also for those opposed to Netanyahu and the policies he has led for the last 10 years as Israel’s powerful prime minister. For all Israelis, no matter where they stand on the political spectrum, this is not a day to be proud of. Yes, it shows that no person is above the law; but it will have a long-term negative impact on the country and its electoral process. From the outset of these elections, Attorney-General Avichai Mandelblit was in an impossible situation. On the one hand, if he delayed his decision until after April 9, it would have seemed like he was giving Netanyahu – his former boss – preferential treatment. On the other hand, by announcing his decision before Israel goes to the polls, he exposes himself to accusations of election interference. His argument is that investigations need to move on a timeline that is – as much as is possible – independent of any external interference. The reason for this is simple, and we basically saw it play out a couple of months ago. If politicians – prime ministers or other party leaders – know that elections will delay criminal investigations, they will potentially use their political power to topple governments if they feel threatened. Basically, that is what Netanyahu tried to do when he broke up his coalition in December...
‘Put Socialism on Trial,’ Larry Kudlow Urges

{dailysignal.com} ~ Larry Kudlow, director of the president’s National Economic Council, called Thursday for putting socialism “on trial”—and convicting it... “I want you, and everybody in this room and your friends and your neighbors, I want you to put socialism on trial, that’s what I’m asking,” Kudlow said, speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference just outside Washington. “I don’t want us to stand idly by,” he told the CPAC audience. “I don’t want to let this stuff fester. I want it challenged. I want it debated. I want it rebutted. I want to convict socialism.” The top economic adviser to President Donald Trump noted the emergence of support for socialism among young voters and among Democrats in Congress. He singled out the so-called Green New Deal, a proposal backed by congressional Democrats in the form of a resolution sponsored by Rep. commie-Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, D-N.Y., and Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass.  The Democrats’ plan would move the country away from fossil fuels while implementing a raft of liberal initiatives...  https://www.dailysignal.com/2019/02/28/put-socialism-on-trial-larry-kudlow-urges/?mkt_tok=eyJpIjoiTkdNMlptVTVNamN6T0dSbCIsInQiOiJcLzdrOURuMTVcL2kzWk8yUTJRTlJVZnFpUXRNVlRWWHVDaGxlbjZkbHM3N1FQaHFVRlI4V2czcmNcL3E1ZjZNZ1FcL3lqd25JWlo0aHlsN3BmeFdXclJEZFpnb3gyMGJWM3p5QXFneUZzUGpNXC8rdVFcLzA3cTA4TlF5ejdMVWk3M2pLaCJ9

{onenewsnow.com} ~ A bill in California seeks to force foster care parents to use a child's preferred name and gender pronoun, but there is pushback against such an "Orwellian" demand... AB-175 was introduced by Assembly Member Mike Gipson (D-District 64), who says the goal is to make a child's home environment more inclusive. "Foster youth have to overcome many barriers and many burdens and having a high rate of unemployment and incarceration," Gipson told the Human Services Committee on Tuesday. "These youth have few people to turn to that can help them understand the resources and the rights entitled to them under the foster care system here in the state."  Responding to the assemblyman's bill, Greg Burt of California Family Council tells OneNewsNow it sends a message to Christian foster parents that California doesn't want them. "The Assembly Human Services Committee approved this particular foster care bill 7-1," Burt says. "We had one Republican on our side, one defaulted. Then they more or less said they liked the bill, that parents are going to be forced to use the gender pronoun of their child's choice, and that's the loving thing to do and that anybody that resists is part of the problem."...Resists.

House Democrats Unveil Plan to Bring Total Government Control Over American Health Care

{dailysignal.com} ~ Liberal House Democrats just unveiled the Medicare for All Act of 2019, a comprehensive bill to abolish virtually all private health plans—including employer-sponsored coverage—and impose total federal government control over Americans’ health care... Despite its sweeping and detailed government control, as well as the imposition of huge but unknown costs, the 120-page bill has nonetheless initially attracted 106 Democrat co-sponsors, almost half of all Democrats in the House. The legislation is profoundly authoritarian. For example, Section 107 ensures that no American, regardless of their personal wants or medical needs, would be able to enroll in any alternative health plan that “duplicates” the government’s coverage. Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., the bill’s primary sponsor, is at least open about the bill’s intent: “The Medicare for All bill really makes it clear what we mean by ‘Medicare for All.’  We mean a system where there are no private insurance companies that provide these core comprehensive benefits.”... Yet the House and Senate are not involved in this 'Medicare for All". They are totally dishonest.

{westernjournal.com} ~ As Congress debates the Green New Deal, which calls for a massive increase in renewable energy use... new reports show wind energy “dropped off” as frigid Arctic air descended on the eastern U.S. earlier this year. “An earlier than expected drop in wind, primarily caused by cold weather cutoffs, increased risk of insufficiency for morning peak,” according to a report from the Midcontinent Independent System Operator, which oversees electricity delivery across 15 states. The wind power shortfall triggered a “maximum generation event” on the morning of Jan. 30 when temperatures plummeted, MISO reported of its handling of the historic cold that settled over the eastern U.S. in late January. Unplanned power outages were higher than past polar vortex events, MISO reported, much of it because wind turbines automatically shut off in the cold. Coal and natural gas plants ramped up production to meet the shortfall and keep the lights on. “This what happens when the government starts mandating and subsidizing inferior energy sources,” Dan Kish, distinguished senior fellow at the Institute for Energy Research, told the Daily Caller News Foundation. Kish, a Green New Deal opponent, said the proposal would just “double down with more ‘Rainbow Stew’ sources” that “don’t work when you need them the most.” Kish isn’t alone in his concern. Energy experts for years have been exploring the feasibility of integrating more solar and wind power onto the grid. The Green New Deal brought that debate to the forefront... They completely over looked or look the other way about the cool temperatures.  https://www.westernjournal.com/green-new-deal-wind-power-dropped-off-grid-polar-vortex/?utm_source=Email&utm_medium=patriottribune&utm_campaign=dailyam&utm_content=libertyalliance

Jim Jordan Exposes Dems' Impeachment Strategy

by Thomas Gallatin:  “The Democrats don’t care,” Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) said in his opening remarks at Wednesday’s House Oversight Committee hearing for President Donald Trump’s former personal lawyer Michael Cohen. Jordan then zeroed in on the real reason behind the Democrats’ call for Cohen’s testimony: “They just want to use you. You are the patsy today. They want to find someone somewhere to say something so they can remove the president.” That would be impeachment. From there, the hearing descended into several heated exchanges between members of both parties with one another and with Cohen.

There were a few important points to note, however. First off, Cohen did nothing to negate Trump’s recent characterization of him as “proven liar” who was “lying to reduce his jail time.” In fact, it appears Cohen lied again during his testimony when he claimed that he did not want a job in the White House. That statement does not comport with what he had privately told friends and colleagues, captured in seized text messages — that he expected to get an important job within the administration.

As we noted yesterday, Cohen admitted he had no evidence to support the long-running Trump/Russia collusion narrative. But he did try his best to continue spinning the Democrats’ favorite conspiracy narrative, suggesting that Donald Trump Jr. may have alerted Trump to the infamous Trump Tower meeting with a Kremlin-linked lawyer. “Mr. Trump had frequently told me and others that his son Don Jr. had the worst judgement of anyone in the world,” Cohen said, “and also Don Jr. would never set up any meeting of any significance alone — and certainly not without checking with his father.” However, when he was pressed on whether Trump actually colluded, Cohen hedged, “I wouldn’t use the word ‘colluding.’”

Ironically, Cohen’s testimony actually exonerates Trump of the charge of Russian collusion and undercuts his own claim of  campaign-finance violations. Cohen stated that Trump never really intended or expected to win the election; rather his aim was “only to market himself and to build his wealth and power.”

If, according to Cohen, Trump had no intention of winning but was simply running to build his own brand, then there would have been no reason to engage in collusion with Russia or to pay legally specious hush money to Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal. In other words, Cohen’s testimony on Trump’s motivations was contradictory.

In the end, little new information was gleaned from Cohen, and none of it appears to be legally damaging to Trump — even as much of the mainstream media seeks to spin it as such. That said, the factor that may be most damaging to Trump is having hired Cohen in the first place. What does it say about Trump’s decision-making when he hired and retained for over a decade a man of Cohen’s obviously poor character?
