Black Voters, er, Lives Matter to Democrats
The infamous hacker Guccifer 2.0 released hacked memos he claims came from Nancy Pulosi's personal computer. She and her staff have denied the allegation, saying, "Leader Pulosi does not have a personal computer at the DCCC, so no hacked, dumped or doctored documents can be attributed to her computer." In any case, the leaked memos reveal strategic guidance for Democrats as to how best to deal with the Black Lives Matter activist/agitator group. They advise Democrats to "partner" with the group and to "lead from behind," but not to "co-opt" their movement. The memo warns Democrats to steer clear of using phrases such as "all lives matter" and "black-on-black crime." You know, avoid saying true things.
Many of the demands of Black Lives Matter are outright racist, yet Democrat leadership views BLM as a movement that can help garner them more votes and support for their leftist causes. The problem is that because the BLM platform is so radical, Democrats risk looking too extreme should they be aligned too closely with BLM. In the meantime, they are content to show support for the radical movement, without getting their hands dirty, as it were.
The real story here is that the Democrat Party would want to so willingly identify itself with such a radical, racist group as Black Lives Matter. Then again, it should come as no surprise given Democrats' long, checkered history of supporting various radical and racists groups. ~The Patriot Post

More Secret Side Deals for Iran
It seems like every time we report on Barack nObama's nuclear deal with Iran (or liar-Hillary Clinton's scandals, or nObamaCare, etc., etc.), things get worse. David Albright and Andrea Stricker of the Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS — yeah, we know), a DC think tank specializing in nuclear issues, reveal the latest problem. They write, "We have learned that some nuclear stocks and facilities were not in accordance with JCPOA limits on Implementation Day, but in anticipation the Joint Commission had earlier and secretly exempted them from the JCPOA limits." (JCPOA stands for Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the official name for the deal.) In other words, nObama agreed to secret side deals that made Iran's compliance unnecessary. He allowed exemptions for low-enriched uranium, heavy water production and radiation containment chambers. The whole idea of secret exemptions, warn Albright and Stricker, "risks advantaging Iran by allowing it to try to systematically weaken" the JCPOA.
The Wall Street Journal writes, "The White House has waved off the ISIS report by insisting it 'did not and will not allow Iran to skirt' its commitments. The non-denial would be more credible if the Administration hadn't last year agreed to a secretive process in which Iran was allowed to inspect its own nuclear-related military facilities."
In related news, Iran has stationed Russian S-300 surface-to-air missiles at one of its key nuclear facilities — the one at Fordow. That heavily fortified facility housed a substantial part of Iran's nuclear weapons program, and Western negotiators initially sought to shut it down. So much for that — nObama caved, and now the Iranians have even more heavily fortified a critical facility. Wonder what that means...~The Patriot Post
Another secret Iran deal exposed

Then we learned last month that the nObama administration made secret $400 million ransom payment to Iran, in which “wooden pallets stacked with euros, Swiss francs and other currencies were flown into Iran on an unmarked cargo plane” on the very same day that US hostages were released. Now it appears the nObama administration has cut yet another secret deal with Iran – this one allowing Iran to evade some of the restrictions on its nuclear program. Lawmaker: liar-Clinton Lied to
Become Secretary of State

At the time, Cornyn expressed grave reservations about a potential conflict of interest. Secretary hanoi-Kerry added that "Iran has undertaken significant steps that many, and I do mean many, people doubted would ever come to pass." nObama Sent 3 Secret Shipments of $400 Million to Iran

nObama's Most Flagrant
Violation Of the Constitution Yet

He purported to commit the United States to a legally binding treaty without first obtaining consent by two thirds of the Senators present, as required under Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution... nObama is using the United Nations to end run the Senate with regard to the Paris Agreement on climate change negotiated last December. Last week, nObama submitted an instrument to United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, for deposit with the UN, which he claims signifies official “acceptance” of the Paris Agreement by the United States. nObama said he and China’s President Xi Jinping together decided to “commit formally to joining the agreement ahead of schedule.” nObama was constitutionally entitled to sign the Paris Agreement as an executive act, which he did in April of this year. However, signing the Paris Agreement was only the first step. In order for the Paris Agreement to actually take effect and enter into legal force, at least 55 countries representing at least 55 percent of global emissions need to formally join the Paris Agreement. Discoveries Continue to Frustrate OPEC

{thenewamerican.com} ~ Apache Corporation, the sixth-largest independent oil and gas producer in the United States, announced this week that it has found a new gargantuan reserve of oil and natural gas in West Texas that could be one of the largest energy finds in the last decade... At the low end, the new “Alpine High” field could contain two billion barrels of oil plus massive natural gas reserves. More importantly, especially to OPEC members gearing up to find ways to raise prices, the company’s estimated profit margin is 30 percent after taking in account all expected development costs, even with crude selling at below $50 a barrel. Apache isn’t waiting around for higher prices but instead has already drilled 19 wells into the new field and has committed one-fourth of its capital budget this year to develop the field further. The profit potential for natural gas is nearly off the charts. So abundant is that energy source from the new field that the company’s breakeven point is just 10 cents per million British thermal units (BTUs) while the market price for natural gas closed Tuesday at $2.72. Border Patrol Agent: 80 Percent of Those
Caught at Border Set Free in U.S.

{thenewamerican.com} ~ Border Patrol Agent Hector Garza, acting in his role as president of the National Border Patrol Council’s (NBPC) Local 2455, appeared on Fox News Channel recently and said, “Eight out of ten people that are caught entering our country illegally are not deported and are allowed to stay in the United States.”... Garza’s appearance on Fox News was heavily quoted in an article posted by Breitbart News on September 5. Garza stated further: “Unfortunately for Border Patrol agents, we are trying to do our jobs as best we can with the very limited resources that we have.” Breitbart noted that Garza, speaking on Fox News, complained about the lack of resources that the nObama administration has made available to the Border Patrol agents responsible for defending our nation’s borders: "We do not have enough vehicles for our agents to patrol with, we do not get the manpower that we need…. Through executive orders and prosecutorial discretion … most of the people that we apprehend end up getting released into the country. It is very difficult to adequately patrol the border. Keep in mind, if we don’t have enough agents out there, there are going to be people who are going to get away — and we don’t know who those people are. {townhall.com} ~ You don't see many Californians when you look at lists of federal inmates whose sentences President nObama has commuted. The reason is simple: The mandatory minimum sentencing system effectively has allowed federal prosecutors to choose defendants' sentences by deciding how to charge them. U.S. attorneys in California have been less heavy-handed than prosecutors in other states.
The feds sometimes can choose whether to charge buyers and sellers for dealing crack cocaine when it's still powder -- crack commands a longer sentence. Prosecutors can charge defendants for quantities that higher ups trafficked. They can include past convictions to lengthen a sentence. Or not. Thus, when a jury convicts a drug offender, the charges have already determined the sentence.
On Tuesday, the nObama administration granted presidential commutations to 111 federal inmates -- including Oakland's Darryl Lamar Reed, a.k.a. "Lil D." So Reed stands out as the rare Californian to win a commutation, as well as an exception to the criteria for nObama's 2014 Clemency Initiative. Then-Deputy U.S. Attorney General James M. Cole explained that inmates applying for a sentence reduction should be "nonviolent, low-level offenders without significant ties to large-scale criminal organizations, gangs or cartels."
Former Alameda County prosecutor Russ Giuntini was appalled to see Reed's name on a commutation list. "This is not a guy that got caught up in the draconian federal sentencing guidelines," Giuntini wrote in an email. Lil D is the kind of guy "the guidelines were made for. He headed the largest dope organization in Oakland," which was responsible for a lot of carnage, was caught "red handed" processing some 20 kilograms of cocaine into crack -- and thus landed in the federal pen.
Reed was only 20 in 1988 when police raided his apartment and found the crack, a handgun and nearly $60,000 in cash. Reed had taken over the extensive drug operation of his uncle, Felix Mitchell, the one-time kingpin who died in federal prison. Reed was no low-level grunt. The San Francisco Chronicle had reported he was "the most powerful crack cocaine gang leader in the East Bay." The feds however didn't convict Reed of a violent crime. I'll assume he did not brandish the handgun, so one can argue he was nonviolent. Nor was he convicted for firearms possession. But low level and with no significant ties to gangs? Hardly. In 2010, Reed told the Contra Costa Times he had made "millions of dollars" dealing drugs.
Reed's not the only high-level offender among the most recent commutees. Four others were convicted of "continuing criminal enterprise." Former prosecutor-turned-defense attorney James Lassart told me, "We only used it with the person who was heading the show." By definition, Lassart confirmed, these inmates are not low-level offenders.
Giuntini, who says he voted for nObama twice, wonders, "Who's doing due diligence for the president?"
The Office of the Pardon Attorney would not talk on the record about Reed. nObama has said that he departed from his initial criteria on guns. If an inmate was convicted for firearms possession, but didn't use a gun during a drug deal, for example, he would qualify as nonviolent. Now it seems the administration is focusing on the first criterion alone -- that an inmate would have "received a substantially lower sentence if convicted of the same offense(s) today." Given changes in federal drug law, Reed likely would not have been sentenced to 35 years if convicted today.
Without this commutation, Reed would be eligible for release in 2019. With it, Reed's release date is Dec. 28 --or two-and-a-half years early. He says he regrets his years peddling dope and has turned away from crime.
The pardon power is the rare power granted in the Constitution that the president can exercise with no check from Congress. nObama can devise whichever criteria he chooses. He is free to depart from his own standards. That's why modern presidents at least start off using the power sparingly. nObama was absolutely stingy. In his first term, he released only one low-level offender serving a draconian federal sentence. In 2013, he stepped up to the plate when he commuted the sentences of eight crack offenders -- six who were serving life terms, including Clarence Aaron a first-time low-level nonviolent offender sentenced to life in prison. He became comfortable reducing the sentences of little guys who never should have been sentenced to decades behind bars, and that was good. Now he's using this power to release some drug-gang big shots. Why? As Giuntini muttered, these things only happen when "people aren't running for re-election."
