What is the "Smart Grid" really about, and why should it concern you and me? Think of your citys implementation of "Smart Meters" in your home (Oh, yes, it is coming, and, at the moment you have NO recourse whatsoever if you dont want it)
Read it and weep, we are NEVER going to be rid of it once it is implemented......
"· A Sustainable Development Council is the most promising option to respond to the
integration of the three pillars. The legal process of creating the Human Rights Council is
a good model in terms of time line and process.
· A SD Council would, inter alia (inter alia means "among other things"; explanation mine),
o Replace or integrate the CSD functions into broader structure.
o Oversee a new peer or other review process, but would require increased capacity
for this purpose.
o Introduce country review, linked especially to helping countries develop their
own sustainable development policies or planning documents to respond to
differential country needs.
o Go hand in hand with the reform of the UNDG to a UN Sustainable Development
Group to oversee “Delivering as One.”"
From this UN report:
http://www.uneca.org/eca_programmes/sdd/events/Rio20/cfssd7/IFSD%20FIVE%20OPTIONS%20REPORT_31Oct11.pdf
The above is a corollary to RIO+20 The Future We Want.
It is coming in just 108 days folks, look at the intent:
7. We reaffirm our commitment to advance progress in implementation of the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development, Agenda 21, the Programme for the Further Implementation of Agenda 21,the Johannesburg Declaration on Sustainable Development and the Plan of Implementation of the World Summit on Sustainable Development, the Barbados Programme of Action and the Mauritius Strategy for Implementation. The Rio Principles shall continue to guide the international community and serve as the basis for cooperation, coherence and implementation of agreed commitments.
For those who say that Agenda 21 doesnt exist, or that we are a batch of nut-jobs, re-read the intent:
"We reaffirm our commitment to advance progress in implementation of the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development, Agenda 21, the Programme for the Further Implementation of Agenda 21..."
(Further implementation of Agenda 21 even has an agenda:
2012-2013: Forests, biodiversity, biotechnology, tourism and mountains
2014-2015: Oceans and seas, marine resources, small island developing States, and disaster management and vulnerability
2016-2017: Overall appraisal of implementation of Agenda 21, the Programme for the Further Implementation of Agenda 21 and the JPOI)
To see how that translates to the USA, read this on the US Department of Energy website:
http://energy.gov/smart-grid
and see what the government wants access to in your life and mine:
http://energy.gov/articles/five-million-smart-meters-installed-nationwide-just-beginning-smart-grid-progress
Do you see all of the wonderful "sustainability" coursing throughout the presentation? How long before the Government decides how much energy you and I can use on a daily baisis? With the "Smart Grid" they WILL control what you use, and when you use it!!!! Does anyone still really think that "Smart Growth" is a good thing for Our Country, States, or Cities?
This and much more information is available on www.UNAmericantakeover.org Read about Millennium Development goals and see how many policies the USA has adopted already.

i have been raising heck about these smart meters for awhile now but can't get anyone to listen. not only the health issues because you are getting bombarted with emf-s 24-7 but the privacy issues , they can tell everytime you turn a light on , when you take a shower or when you go to bed , they can tell exactly when you are home or not . ther is no security on these things, anyone with any knowledge can hack into the grid. what has happened to the 4th amendment. when they come to put one on my house ,i wouldn't let them put it on and i got threatened, they were going to turn my electric off or they were going to call the sheriff. by the way according to stopsmartmeters.org. the smartmeters are funded through the D.O.D
