Looking to Jesus

From the secular humanist point of view; that is, without specific allusion to religious doctrine, I’m herein looking to Jesus.

Jesus was born during Rome’s glory. The Romans oppressed Jesus’ people. Jesus came, not as a conqueror, but with a message of brotherhood. The prophet Jesus was born at the beginning of the Age of Pisces. When given the choice of who to crucify, Barabbas, a convicted murderer, or Jesus, who preached love thy neighbor, the people chose Jesus, reminding me of Shirley Sherrod’s and the Reverend Wright’s case, both racist bomb throwers from way back. There is a skunk under the woodpile. Jesus said, “Forgive them for they know not what they do.” I want to discuss this outrageous action further, but for now the Age of Aquarius, an age of brotherhood, did you ever think of this? When we speak of Jesus’ second coming we speak of the Age of Aquarius.

The Roman Emperor Constantine made Christianity the state religion. After Rome fell, the Holy Roman Catholic Church remained, and in union with European royalty. With the church as bad as the Romans, Jesus every other word, but nowhere to be seen, the meek continued to be oppressed for another thousand years.

Around 500 years ago, Galileo proved with his telescope that the earth circles the sun. The Church held that Earth was at the center of the universe. Galileo was convicted of heresy and confined to his villa for the rest of his life. But he wrote a book on his findings and sneaked it out. Came the Age of Enlightenment, the power of the Church greatly diminished.

The meek of whom Jesus spoke, seeking the opportunity for a better life, came to America, to declare independence from England. England’s egomaniac, King George, was mortified. What the other European rulers would think of him was his main concern.

On the day the American revolutionaries signed the Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776, the planet Uranus was on the ascendant of the zodiac, meaning America was born under the sign of Aquarius—on earth as it is in heaven, from the Lord’s Prayer, did you ever think of that? Think about this. On November 19, 1863, at the dedication of the Soldier’s National Cemetery in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, four and a half months after the Union defeated the Confederacy at the decisive Battle of Gettysburg, President Abraham Lincoln’s speech is regarded as one of the best ever made. Why? Lincoln invoked the principles of the Declaration of Independence and defined the Civil War as “a new birth of freedom.” Lincoln’s speech, only two minutes long, referring to the American Revolution, stating “Four score and seven years ago,” in the context of the Civil War, using the ceremony as an opportunity to exhort his audience to ensure survival of America’s representative democracy, calling it “a government of the people, by the people, for the people—shall not perish from the earth—the significance of those words remains an American legend.

Abraham Lincoln was born with Aquarius his sun sign and his rising sign. “A new birth of freedom,” have you ever thought in those terms? America, born under the sign of Aquarius, we Aquarians are futuristic in our thinking. We are idealistic, independent, and stubborn in our beliefs. We can be liberal in our thoughts, but fixed in opinion, we never let our emotions get in our way. We look at the big picture.

Although we Aquarians love being in the company of others, our humanitarian quality making us down to earth, but hating hypocrisy, we avoid shallow people.

We Aquarians are creative and imaginative, but better at dreaming than doing. We’re quite unconventional, our motto, “don’t fence me in.” We are visionaries who would rather debate the issues than fight. We could make good leaders but prefer not to take center stage. We prefer to keep our independent lifestyle and influence others.

Aquarians are loyal and trustworthy, but if we feel trapped, rest assured, we will find a way to break free. We get impatient with people who refuse to see our point of view. Our independence makes us appear cold and without compassion. We can also appear rebellious and unpredictable. Jimmy Hoffa was an Aquarian. H.G. Well’s, who wrote of the future was Aquarius rising.

As earlier stated, Jesus was born at the beginning of the Age of Pisces. Now, in order that you might understand where we are today, Piscean and Aquarian personalities clash, and little wonder. America is once again as divided as before the Civil War. Appropriately, the symbol for Pisces is two attached fish swimming in opposite directions. Pisceans are forever changing their minds. My first wife was a Piscean. You can read the same as I’m telling you about Piceans.

Pisceans make life altering changes on whim. I found this terribly aggravating and baffling. Pisceans are receptive to a wide range of energies. They are very good at catching the moods of others. They make great politicians, preachers, and lawyers. They are sensitive to their environments, and, along with this sometimes reclusive and conniving. With their willy-nilly nature, they are for peace at any price. Pisceans tend to be champions of the underdog. They will do almost anything to help those in need. Unfortunately, they can be gullible. Opportunists take advantage of their sympathetic natures, and just look where we are!

Pisceans avoid saying anything hurtful. And they want so much to do the right thing they suffer terribly over the smallest things. Pisceans sacrifice their own needs. And they develop the martyr complex—and from this get dumped upon. And due to the fact that they don’t retaliate, Pisceans are subject to becoming enslaved to the ideas of others. And to escape when things get tough for them, they can resort to drugs and alcohol.

Interestingly, you know you are looking at a Piscean when you see someone wearing goofy clothing or an outlandish hair style. Pisceans love to wear costumes and disguises, which matches their personalities. And, they can swing from joy to dark psychic states. I know all about that. It can happen several times a day. Laughing and friendly one moment, the next in a snit, highly emotional, they can actually live two or more truths at the same time. Their mood swings make them nonsensical and impractical. They can squander money on silly things. They can be at the same time compassionate, greedy and self serving. I admit that It was more than I could take.

We’ve come to a jumping off place. Jesus told the world 2,000 years ago that we are our brother’s keeper. He died so that we might live to become the people we are destined to be. He promised that the meek would inherit the earth. The time has arrived.

A Piscean editor for a liberal newspaper told me 20 years ago he was afraid that I could be wrong. He wouldn’t print my story. Poor fellow! His newspaper’s readership has gone to the dogs. Fox News viewing audience is soaring. Fox News’ Glenn Beck is a recovering alcoholic who found Jesus. He’s a Mormon. When I hit rock bottom, I cut from the herd and went strictly on my own. I found Jesus. Both Glenn and I say look to Jesus.

America, born under the sign of Aquarius, stands for brotherhood. We are all God’s children—all Americans. President Obama, join us. Quit being your own worst enemy. You are listening to losers. You’ve come to us from the land of Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln, emancipator of slavery, an Aquarian, said in Gettysburg that America’s representative form of government shall not perish from the earth.

Welcome everyone to the Age of Aquarius. Pledge allegiance to one nation under God, with liberty and justice for all.

  • Well, Phil, I didn't get silence, or the claim that I'm the anti-Christ. That's an improvement.

Obama could get anything he wanted done if he knew that 99.9 percent of us have our own thoughts. Obama, surrounded by yes men, and one himself, poor fellow, they all sit around supporting themselves, and then Robert Gibbs gives us the answer. U-u-u-h, no comment.
  • RIGHT ON !
