{ washingtonexaminer.com } ~ At least one attendee at last month's 2020 Conservative Political Action Conference tested positive for the new coronavirus... The American Conservative Union announced that one of the attendees to its annual conference, which attracted 19,000 people in 2019 and roughly the same amount this year, contracted the COVID-19 virus prior to the event in National Harbor, Maryland, thus exposing others to the disease. "The American Conservative Union has learned that one of our CPAC attendees has unfortunately tested positive today for coronavirus. The exposure occurred previous to the conference. A New Jersey hospital tested the person, and CDC confirmed the positive result," the ACU said in a statement Saturday. "The individual is under the care of medical professionals in the state of New Jersey, and has been quarantined. " "This attendee had no interaction with the President or the Vice President and never attended the events in the main hall," the statement added. Several prominent members of the Trump administration attended the conference, including President Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, acting Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, Secretary of Education Betsy Devos, and White House counselor Kellyanne Conway. According to the ACU's announcement, the Trump administration is monitoring the situation and is in open communication with proper government agencies. Matt Schlapp, chairman of the American Conservative Union, called for the public to remain calm in response, vowing to help "friends" in attendance recover if diagnosed. "I hope that everybody stays calm. And if we have any of our friends, who test positive or get sick, we help them, and we'll get through this together as a country," Schlapp told RealClearNews. The incoming White House chief-of-staff notes an internal executive debate is still happening about how best to reform the FISA process as it is used upon/against American citizens. AG Barr, Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham insufferably want a clean renewal. President Trump, the righteous House team and Senators Paul, Lee and Cruz want far more substantial reform. Senator Paul has the best proposal which is to force the DOJ, FBI or domestic intelligence apparatus to go before a traditional Title-3 court any time a U.S. citizen is identified as a target for surveillance. Save FISA for foreign targets. Additionally, Meadows notes the shift in support for John Ratcliffe as DNI comes as an outcome of SSCI Chairman Richard Burr likely supporting the nomination. { wethepeopledaily.com } ~ The seemingly never-ending legal efforts against the Trump administration’s construction of a southern border wall continued on Tuesday afternoon with a federal lawsuit filed by 19 U.S. states... The 77-page lawsuit — which was filed in U.S. District Court for the North District of California — takes issue with the administration’s latest diversion of defense funds to construct the border wall, and claims that the plaintiffs seek “to protect their residents, National Guard units, natural resources, and sovereign and economic interests from the harm caused by President Donald J. Trump’s flagrant disregard of fundamental separation of powers principles ingrained in the United States Constitution.” Last month, the Pentagon informed Congress of its plans to divert $3.8 billion in defense funds to help with wall construction along the southwest border, per the terms of the national emergency that President Donald Trump declared last year over illegal immigration and the security situation at the border. The decision was criticized by congressional Democrats as well as the top Republican on the House Armed Services Committee, Mac Thornberry (Texas), who is not running for re-election. The states’ lawsuit goes on to say that the states are injured because the redirected Pentagon funding set to be used for the wall includes money that would have otherwise gone toward military projects in their states or toward gear for their National Guard units. Furthermore, the states also claim that “diversion of any funding toward construction of a wall along California’s and New Mexico’s southern borders will irreparably harm the sovereign interests of those States due to the environmental damage to their natural resources that construction will cause.” In addition to the separation of powers claims, the states’ lawsuit also accuses the Trump administration of violating the Constitution’s Appropriations Clause, of acting beyond its legal authority, as well as committing violations of the Administrative Procedure Act and National Environmental Policy Act... { meforum.org } ~  Michel Gurfinkiel, founder of the Paris-based Jean-Jacques Rousseau Institute and a writing fellow at the Middle East Forum, spoke to Middle East Forum Radio host Gregg Roman on February 12 about the consequences of massive Muslim immigration into France... Domestically, the past fifty years of steady immigration from Islamic countries into France is "transforming the fabric of French society" from within. Demographic and sociological surveys indicate that 10-15% of the French population is now of Muslim origin, including 20-30% of French citizens or residents under the age of 25. Some integrate successfully, but many align with the most radical and militant expression of the religion. Their rejection of France's secular constitution is matched by resentment of the French military's fight against global jihadism in Africa and the Middle East, seen as a "deliberate assault ... on Islam. "Whereas religious zeal is steadily increasing among French Muslims, Gurfinkiel said that "the classic national religion of France, Catholicism," is declining, citing research found in The French Archipelago (L'archipel français) by French pollster, demographer and sociologist Jérôme Fourquet. Traditional family and marriage are "unraveling among the native French," while birthrates drop. Islamic groups observing this change respond in two ways: those who support jihad to take control of France and those who see the inevitable ascent of Islam through non-violent "dawah" (proselytism) as the answer to a society "ripe for change." One way or another, according to Gurfinkiel, "Islam stands a very good chance to simply conquer ... this country." Already, freedom of speech in France has seemingly been conquered. In January, a 16-year old identified only as "Mila' criticized Islam as a "religion of hate" on her Instagram account in response to online harassment from a homophobic Muslim troll. The resulting online threats of bodily harm led to Mila and her family being placed under police protection. The French custom of satirizing or criticizing religion does not extend to Islam, "and the main reason ... is, of course, fear," said Gurfinkiel. "It's a fact that Muslims don't react peacefully to these kinds of speech as ... Christians do, and everybody ... remembers ... the humorists of Charlie Hebdo ... slaughtered by a Muslim commando a few years ago." These problems were "forecast many years ago by French scholars, journalists, and sometimes political leaders," said Gurfinkiel, who himself  warned in a 1997 Middle East Quarterly article that French Muslims tend "to think of themselves as a new nation, and even to have hopes of superseding the present Judeo-Christian nation of France." However, for decades the French government has been cautious in addressing the demographic growth and poor integration of Muslims in France. This is partly for fear of triggering riots and civil unrest, and partly for fear of emboldening the anti-immigration right, notably Marine LePen and her National Rally formerly the National Front party. When evaluating the data showing drops in exports from China is worthwhile to consider the lack of visible supply-chain disruption formerly predicted by global economic “analysts”. According to Reuters; to the extent data can be gathered from within a closed communist system; total exports from China dropped 17.2% in January and February. The lack of factory production has cut the estimated growth rate within China by half. However, is that a cause?  – or – Is that a cover? For decades corporations have moved to a supply chain process known as Just-In-Time (JIT) inventory. If Chinese component manufactured goods were part of a critical corporate supply chain, and with more than 30-days of source disruption quantified, there would be impacts by now. Where are the crippled customers? There are no measurable, demonstrable, citations for missing component parts making downstream finished goods impossible. There are lots of anticipatory declarations, but no shortage has materialized...

{ gatestoneinstitute.org } ~ While Christian leaders are busy condemning Israel and spreading blood libels against it, Christians in Bethlehem are again being targeted by hoodlums and punks... The latest victim of this anti-Christian violence is Dr. Salameh Qumsiyeh, a gynecologist from Bethlehem who was brutally attacked by unidentified thugs as he was driving his car in the center of the city on February 18. Four masked assailants intercepted  Qumsiyeh's car, eyewitnesses said, and beat him with clubs and sharp tools before fleeing the scene. Qumsiyeh was rushed to hospital, where medics said that the wounds he had suffered were serious. The doctor's family, one of the biggest Christian clans in the Bethlehem area, issued a statement harshly criticizing the assault, dubbing it a "sinful and despicable attack by a group of cowards and violators of laws and national and social norms." The clan went on to express shock over the attack and was careful to claim that it had been carried out by "mercenaries." It urged the Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces to do their utmost to "arrest the cowards and bring them to justice." Palestinian factions in the Bethlehem area also denounced the "brutal and cowardly" attack on Qumsiyeh. "We strongly condemn this cowardly and suspicious act, which is alien to our traditions," the factions said in a statement.
