The Election Thus Far
Now that both conventions have ended and each party's nominees have been confirmed, what can be learned and expected as the campaign season moves forward? First, let's take a look at the numbers. Of the 221 million eligible American voters only 30 million voted during the primaries. Donald Trump received the most votes of any Republican nominee in history, but liar-Hillary Clinton received even more votes, thanks to the fact that there are more registered Democrats than Republicans. Even with a record number voting this primary season, only 9% of Americans selected Trump and liar-Clinton as the nominees.
As expected, both Trump and liar-Clinton received respective jumps in the polls following their conventions. Though the polls show that Trump has slightly narrowed the gap nationally, this election will be won or lost based upon acquiring the electoral votes from the usual swing states of Florida, North Carolina and Ohio. For Trump to have a realistic chance of winning, he needs to sweep all three. With liar-Hillary essentially starting at 242 electoral votes, all she would need to win is 28 more. Florida alone accounts for 29.
Of course, four months is a political eternity. Will this highly unprecedented and thus far unpredictable election year continue to surprise and confound? Or will recent electoral history and conventional wisdom hold sway confirming that this is liar-Clinton's election to lose? Trump may have already begun laying the groundwork for rationalizing a loss, telling a crowd he's afraid the election is "going to be rigged." But he also made the same argument that our own Mark Alexander made last week: "If you really like Donald Trump, that's great, but if you don't, you have to vote for me anyway. You know why? Supreme Court judges, Supreme Court judges. Have no choice, sorry, sorry, sorry. You have no choice." -The Patriot Post

Democrats Campaign on Gun Control
James Shott: The New York Times sees a renewal of Democrats' efforts to increase restrictions on guns. The newspaper says that after 20 years of holding back on the gun control initiative, "a string of mass shootings involving high-powered weapons, rising anxiety about domestic terrorism, and killings of and by police officers have emboldened Democrats. They say the shootings are intensifying support for gun control, elevating weapons policy to a top-tier issue, with particularly strong appeal to suburban female voters."
Democrats, The Times says, will press for new restrictions in political races across the country that will include expanded background checks, new limits on gun purchases and increased scrutiny on gun makers and dealers — all of which is buoyed by polls they say show strong support for these measures.
National Rifle Association (NRA) spokeswoman Jennifer Baker said, however, that the American public would ultimately reject added gun control because Democrats, while cloaking their gun agenda in the language of "common sense," really want to go much further. "The political elites and DC politicians don't understand Middle America," she said. "They don't understand that voters support the Second Amendment and the individual right to self-protection." The NRA rightly says liar-Clinton would put an individual's right to self-defense at risk.
Connecticut Democrat Senator Christopher Murphy agrees that liar-Clinton and other gun control advocates are committed to making the issue a major theme of the campaign, and, should she win the November election, will continue it in her presidency. "This issue is a core value for liar-Hillary Clinton and it is good politics," Murphy said.
He should ask Barack nObama, the Gun Salesman of the Decade, about the results of these "good politics."
One of the favored talking points in support of restricting the rights of law-abiding citizens to protect themselves and their families is that 30,000 people die in America each year from guns.
If you accept that 30,000 figure taken all by itself, without context, it's shocking. That's a lot of people.
However, when context is applied, it is substantially less damning. Considered as part of the roughly 320,000,000 total population of the United States, it represents just 0.0001%. That means each American has a one in 10,000 chance of dying from a gunshot each year. And, frankly, if you're not a gang-banger on a Democrat-run urban poverty plantations, your chances are far lower.
Even that doesn't dig down into the details of gun deaths, showing how many are accidents, suicides, or justified shootings.
Furthermore, according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), more than 20 times more people die from heart disease each year than from guns, and nearly that many die from cancer. More people — 42,700 — die from "intentional self-harm (suicide)" than from so-called "gun violence."
In 2013, according to DrugWarFacts.org, which cites data from the CDC, motor vehicle deaths totaled 35,369, all homicides were 16,121, and in 2014, drug overdoses claimed 47,055 lives.
Gun deaths do not appear on the list of the top 10 causes of death in America. In fact, FBI data show slightly more than 8,000 gun homicides in 2014, quite a difference from the overhyped 30,000 figure.
Conspicuously missing from the leftist tirade is that guns are inanimate objects, incapable of doing anything on their own. Like such things as hammers, kitchen knives and automobiles, guns are under the control of their user. Is this simple concept too complex for leftists to understand?
No, it just gets in their way: They know and understand that a disarmed populace is a compliant populace.
Last week, we noted, "This year's [DNC] platform doesn't even bother to mention the words 'Second Amendment.' ... Drafters opted instead for the meaningless tripe about how 'gun ownership is a part of the fabric of many communities.' Fabric can be changed. Rights endowed by our Creator cannot."
The actions of average Americans tell a story different from Democrats. Matt Vespa reports that women obtaining concealed carry permits increased at twice the rate of men from 2012 to 2016. And the Crime Prevention Research Center notes that the murder rate fell by16% between 2007 and 2015, all while gun sales have gone through the roof.

Khizr Khan, the Media and the Rest of the Story

On stage Khan challenged Donald Trump’s knowledge of the U.S. Constitution and said that “You have sacrificed nothing and no one.” Khan’s comments struck a chord with anyone who ever had a son, daughter, husband or wife, or parent who ever served overseas in a war zone. Everything that she says must be subsequently verified for accuracy. The statements she made about Russia came in the same interview with Chris Wallace in which liar-Clinton was busted for lying about the statements of FBI Director James Comey regarding her lies about the criminal home server. In her recent lies in the unending series, liar-Clinton said, “We know that Russian intelligence services, which are part of the Russian government, which is under the firm control of Vladimir Putin, hacked into the DNC and we know that they arranged for a lot of those emails to be released. And we know that Donald Trump has shown a very troubling willingness to back up Putin, to support Putin.” The piece is mercifully cut off at that point by Fox and Friends, cutting to the couch. liar-Clinton appears to be attempting to avoid responsibility for yet more of her familiar careless handling of documents by blaming Russia and the “all powerful super villain Vladimir Putin” and connecting her opponent in her own crazy conspiracy theory with a foreign government. It’s the kind of crooked dealings she engages in on a daily basis through her foundation, but not the kind of thing that Donald Trump would do. He has been an outspoken opponent of the surveillance state and has helped many people to understand the depth and breadth of the actions of the NSA. He recently told Aaron Klein Investigative Radio that the FBI has accessed NSA databases before and can do it again. Don't take my word for it. Just re-read the ignored warnings issued by Muslim soldier Nidal Hasan, the vengeful mass murderer who gunned down 13 service members -- including a pregnant private first class who lost her life and her child -- and wounded more than 30 others at Fort Hood in 2009.
Two years before his rampage, while a senior-year medical school resident in psychology, U.S. Army Major Hasan delivered a 50-slide PowerPoint presentation to classmates and military superiors at Walter Reed. It was titled "The Koranic World View As It Relates to Muslims in the U.S. Military." Quoting chapter and verse, Hasan illuminated "what the Koran inculcates in the minds of Muslims and the potential implications this may have for the U.S. military."
Hasan cited the Verse of the Sword "I have been commanded to fight the people until they testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah", explained "offensive" and "defensive" jihad and summarized the concept of "abrogation" -- in which warring verses of the Quran trumped "peaceful verses."
In Slide 11, Hasan bemoaned: "It's getting harder and harder for Muslims in the service to morally justify being in a military that seems constantly engaged against fellow Muslims."
Slide 48 warned: "If Muslim groups can convince Muslims that they are fighting for God against injustices of the 'infidels;' i.e.: enemies of Islam, then Muslims can become a potent adversary i.e.: suicide bombing, etc. We love death more then you love life!"
Under Conclusions, Hasan recommended that the Department of Defense "allow Muslim Soldiers the option of being released as 'conscientious objectors' to increase troop morale and decrease adverse events." Cowed military superiors ignored the presentation, just as they had dismissed complaints from fellow students who noted Hasan's exaltation of Sharia over the Constitution and support for suicide bombings.
"Adverse events" was Hasan's euphemism for bloody jihad attacks and betrayals by Muslim soldiers against their own fellow U.S. soldiers. He included a case I've never forgotten: Traitor Hasan Akbar, the 326th Engineer Battalion Muslim-American soldier who lobbed stolen hand grenades and shot his M-4 automatic rifle into three tents filled with sleeping commanding officers at the 101st Airborne Division's 1st Brigade operations center in Kuwait in 2003.
Capt. Christopher Seifert, 27, and Maj. Gregory Stone, 40, died during the fragging. Fourteen others suffered wounds from grenade shrapnel.
Willful blindness to a Muslim-American soldier's fundamental internal conflict of loyalties led to those murders and injuries. Despite several incidents of insubordination and prior invocation of his Islamic beliefs to skip out of the 1991 Persian Gulf War, Akbar's superiors sent him to Kuwait -- and put him in charge of clearing land mines.
A decade later, in 2013, former Muslim-American Navy veteran Abu Khalid Abdul-Latif and an accomplice were convicted of plotting to kill officers and employees at a Seattle military recruiting center. The would-be killers wanted to retaliate against "the American military presence in the Middle East" and to prevent our troops "from going to Islamic lands and killing Muslims." The co-conspirators cited Nidal Hasan's Fort Hood attack as inspiration.
In March, U.S. Air Force vet and avionics weapons systems expert Tairod Nathan Webster Pugh, who declared himself a "Mujahid," was convicted of providing material support to ISIS. Last spring, 22-year-old Army National Guard specialist Hasan Edmonds was arrested on his way overseas to join the Islamic State. He had plotted attacks on his Illinois National Guard Armory, police stations and courts.
Over the years, I've reported on many more of Allah's soldiers in American uniforms, including:
--Army soldier Ali Mohamed, who pleaded guilty to conspiring with Osama bin Laden to "attack any Western target in the Middle East" and admitted his role in the 1998 African embassy bombings.
--Naval reservist Semi Osman, linked to a terrorist training camp in Oregon.
--Army reservist Jeffrey Leon Battle, who pleaded guilty to conspiring to levy war against the United States.
--Navy sailor Hassan Abu-Jihaad, convicted on espionage and material terrorism support charges after serving aboard the USS Benfold and sharing classified information with al-Qaida financiers, including U.S. ship movements prior to the USS Cole bombing in Yemen.
--U.S. Army Private First Class Naser Jason Abdo, who plotted to kill his fellow soldiers to "get even" with the military and strike at kafirs (non-Muslims).
The military's Muslim chaplains program has been similarly compromised by radical imams tied to the jihad-waging Muslim Brotherhood.
This is not "Islamophobia." This is fact: Not all U.S. Muslim soldiers are equal. To deny the deadly risk is to enable it.
