My name is Kathleen, and I'm helping run a 99% Spring action training next week. I'm in Denver, but there's a training in Lewisville too and I hope you'll go.
I know just how broken our economy is right now. You see, I have been out of work for some time, and as an older person, it is tough to find work at my age.
I see gas prices spiking, food prices increasing, and there seems to be no end to how difficult the 1% wants to make it for the rest of us. I think it's time to say "No, we've had enough!" Every day I tell myself, "They don't get to win ... not without a fight from me."
Today is the anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., and I'm leading a nonviolent direct action training next week because I'm ready to follow in his footsteps, and the footsteps of so many everyday people throughout our history who have taken courageous action to stand up for justice.
After our training here in Denver, we're planning a huge protest on Tax Day to demand that the 1% pay their fair share. But I don't want things to end there. I hope we're part of a huge national wave—a true 99% Spring—of direct action challenging the destructive greed and influence of the 1%.
I want you to help make that happen along with me. I understand there's a training planned in Lewisville on Saturday, Apr. 14, 2012, at 12:00 PM. Will you join in?
No, I can't make it, but I'd like to take action on Tax Day.
At the trainings, we'll discuss how to tell the story of what happened to our economy and learn crucial skills that will help us take effective action. Anyone can participate! People from every walk of life, from every community, at any age have a role to play—you don't need any special experience.
I believe that right now we have the chance to stand together. If enough people like you and me join in—people who understand that our system is broken and want to do something about it—we could win real change. The struggles to transform our country have never been won from the top down. Great change happens through grassroots movements and people taking bold action.
The wave of direct action I want to see spread this spring is already starting to build, not only where I live here in Denver but in places like Sanford, Florida, where students and young people are mobilizing on Monday—the first day of our nationwide trainings—to protest the injustice of the killing of Trayvon Martin.
Over the next 60 days, groups all over the country are planning to carry the wave of action forward. They will confront tax-dodging millionaires, greedy Wall Street CEOs, dirty energy polluters, politicians pushing voter suppression in the states, corporations trying to buy our elections, and more.
Martin Luther King Jr. taught us that "the ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."
I'm so inspired to know that tens of thousands of people have already signed up, and I want you to join us. Can you make it to the training in Lewisville on Saturday, Apr. 14, 2012, at 12:00 PM?

There was a protest about immigration and a Hispanic stated "We love America but just want to change it". Into what??? where they come from?? If that is true why come here and change it, why not stay there and change it. Here they can get it all for free. Illegals not only cross the borders but also: murderers, selling children into prostitution, drugs, beheadings, using children for transporting drugs, possible chemicals to wipe out a city, etc.
Texas Patriots should band together to meet these people in force and run them out of Texas! We're tired of these malcontents disturbing and spoiling our communities. They are NOT the 99%. They are the 47% that live off of the rest of us who pay all the taxes. Van Jones is a despicable human being. If you hate the 1%, then you'd might as well hate the 53% because we stand WITH the 1% and hope to get there one day by working hard and honestly.

I guess it has to be someone's fault because you are out of work. Instead of spending so much time doing this kind of (you know what) try spending the time looking for work. The 1% don't owe you anything. You need to get out there and earn it.

You ask any legal imigrate, why they are here and they will tel lyou this. They came here for the freedom to persue any job they would like and make as much money as they want. They came here for free speach and to wishop what ever religion the like. Obama and the Socialist party have embeded in your head the rich aren't paying enough and your entittled to what they have worked hard for. I don't have much money and have worked all my life to support my kids. I worked 3 jobs to give them opportunities to do and be what they want. I didn't expect others to pay more taxes for me. My son inlaw works 70-80 hrs a week to provide for his family, they barley make it each month, but you don't see him ralling against people that work hard to have what they earned. Did your parents raise to expect everyone who pays taxes to pay more for you? Obama is a socialist, he's a Muslem and he plans to take this country to a welfare state and have everyone depend on the government. When is the last time a poor man gave you a job ???? I am surprised at your age you haven't taken the time to learn what is going on in the country. We could end up like Germany 1944 and I am not kidding. Think about this before you rally! Do you want the goverment to take over every thing and distribute your share whether you work or not? You need to stop asking for other peoples money and earn your own. Obama is lying to people and the news media his covering for him. If you want to rally, rally to freedom for every one and not for those who work hard and get a education to make a good living. LIVINGSTON IS NOT MY HOME TOWN-I'M FROM WISCONSIN. BUT MY WIFE LIVED IN TEXAS JUST SOUTH OF THERE GOT THE INFORMATION I PUT OUT I GOT FROM PICTURES AND INFORMATION MY WIFE SHARED WITH ME. SHE USED TO TAKE HER MOM AND SON FISHING ON THAT DANDY LAKE. THEYALWAYS HAD A NEIGHBORHOOD FISH FRY WHEN THEY CAME HOME. ONE TIME THEY CAUGHT A WHOLE WASHTUB FULL OF CROPPIE. THEY HAD TO SHARE THEIR CATCH WITH HER NEIGHBORS--TOO MANY FISH TO CLEAN. ANOTHER TIME SHE AND 2 OF HER GAL PALS HAD A 2 DAY HUNTING TRIP 2 MILES NORTH OF LIVINGSTON . THEY CHUMMED THE DEER TRAIL WITH BULL DURHAM CHEWING TOBACCO. THEY BAGGED THREE BUCKS THE FIRST MORNING. THE WIFE GOT A 12 POINT. (SHE SURE CAN HANDLE A 30 ODD 6) THEY DROVE TO THE TOWN SQUARE GROCERY STORE TO GET SOME PROVISIONS APPLES AND SUCH. THEY WANTED THE APPLES TO STUFF IN THE DEERS' MOUTHS. THE LADIES HAD LOADED UP THE BACK OF THEIR BLAZZER WITH THE DEAD DEER WITH THEIR HEADS HANGING OUT THE BACK. WHEN THE STORE MANAGER FOUND OUT THEY HAD 3 DEER WITH TAGS IN THEIR EARS HE NOT ONLY GAVE THEM A WHOLE SACK OF APPLES FOR FREE. FOR HE PERSONALLY CARRIED THEIR PROVISIONS TO THE BLAZER AND STUFFED THREE APPLES IN THE DEERS' MOUTHS AS A GENTLEMAN'S GESTURE TO THE LADY HUNTERS. THE WIFE HAS PICTURES OF THIS. THEY ALSO WERE TREATED TO FREE BEERS AT THE LOCAL SPIRIT'S HALL AND WERE GIVEN FREE DINNER AT THE TOWN SQUARE RESTAURANT. THEY CAME HOME EARLY. IT GOT DARK.
