I just got news from my company of 25 years regarding next years helath insureance. Needless to say it may be going through the roof. I have kept this job mostly because of my benifits. This comes at a time when I have a son that will be starting colledge next year. The money I will be needing for him will be used to pay for someone who want take care of their own health care. I find this outrage! I just want to say you have my support. Go Tea Party!
My cost have gone up every year too. Like you I also have preexisting conditions which were caused from a drunk driver when I was 20 years old. My company still hired me in 1985 and I was blessed to get insurance. I have kept this job for 25 years just for insurance. Like you I could not afford to quit because of the insurance. My problem is that the goverment is involved in health care and the cost. I do not want their involvment to affect my personal choices nor be able to tell me that if I retire I must purchase what they think I need. Have you looked at health care in Canada as an example or the lack there of. The U. S. has the best health care system in the world including research. It could mean if you want to keep your health care you may need to come out of retirement. I know it has been the one reason I have not retired. No offense. If more people are willing to make that sacrifice perhaps the kind of service one gets would be from people like you and I that have experience in our chosen fields. Experince is a good thing this president had little. It shows in the reform bill he has patched together. Perhaps if he had listened to the people of this country he would have realized most of us understand if you are seriously ill you will find the help you need. That is what Medicare, Medicade , free clinics, friends, churches, nonprofits help with. Are the perfect no, but nothing is. there is not a day that goes by I don't live with pain. So I keep working. Life is not free nor has good health care ever been even now with Obamacare!
