Dear Friends at Tea Party.org,

This is my first post and I am happy to share info.

I am not doing this as an article, as I have a current injury that keeps me from lengthy typing.

I have been in the Chinese area-that is Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the Mainland for around 16 years.

I am a former Army vet from the Viet-nam era (in Germany) and USN -USS Ranger in the Pacific

area.

I speak and read  Mandarin Chinese, but traditional and simplified characters.

First, let me say that the Chinese are fascinated by the West, especially the USA and

Obama's picture has been seen here with typical brainwashing media promotions, such as angel wings and halos and 'hope'-which we all know was a propaganda stunt to quell a rebellion.

Americans here are treated with respect and dignity. For the locals, freedom is little. There is no 2nd amendment, or religious freedom except in govt. approved churches with Priests appointed by central govt.

On the other hand, we do not have TSA. The culture would not allow it as the Chinese are very modest

and conservative people in public.

In many respects, we have more freedom here than the USA. For one, there are not so many

rules and regulations. Cops do not threaten and beat foreigners, though I imagine that the

scenes you hear about regarding torture and organ harvesting of Falun Gong members are

true. Evidence of this came out in Shenyang, Liaoning Co. near Beijing, where I used to live.

On the other hand, torture at GITMO and war crimes of Cheney, Bush and Co. would be like hypocrisy

if I criticized a place such as where I live by comparison.

No one gets a Nobel Peace prize for pushing wars even further in Afghanistan, unless it is Obama.

As I write this, I am doing so through a vpn server, since Facebook, twitter, blogs (wordpress etc)

are prohibited. Ironically on I pad I cannot get Alex Jones and infowars.com through satellite, but can get it through local servers.

In HK the press is open and China is often criticized.

Well, send me your questions and I can post more as you like.

Thanks and regards,

Gary

  • No. My only job is to help teach languages, such as English so that students who want to go abroad and study can communicate.

  • Yes, that is true. I did say that only govt. approved Churches are allowed.

This is because public gatherings of any kind are prohibited. It is far from perfect.

This is all they print about currencies-however I am aware of manipulation. As far as Iran or Syria,

they are no threat to the West and quite frankly it is not up to the US to be the policeman of the world.

China's main focus here it to avoid war. If Iran were a serious threat-they would be wiped out. They are just interested in protecting themselves from Israel and who could blame them.

Syria has human rights issues, but so does the US: tasering, the Patriot act; the list goes on and on (NDAA).

We would be better off concentrating our efforts at home (just like Adam Smith's guns and butter theory with the economy) than meddling in foreign affairs. George  Washington was against it.

    I feel the same. Thanks!

China ‘trying to avoid currency war’
  • nice ty but what about them manipulating their Currency and their political support to Iran and Syria?

  • The fault with products lies with the govt. allowing it to happen. Sending GE or GM here is a policy of the US. Recently, Gibson guitars were harassed by the FBI for finishing unfinished wood from India and were told that the heat would let up if they moved to India. So it is the policy of the US govt or the bankers, ie New world order-whoever runs them not to create US jobs, but to export them. Again the threat is from within.

  • They have a population of 1.4 billion and everyone is required to do army training in college. It has a large army for reasons I don't really know, however I know that people in general are pacifists. They are also collective manic-depressives and can be docile, yet go on a rampage without warning within their own country.

how/why u can trust me? Just follow my posts and do your research. The big threat to our own country is within-not without.

  • I also read where the citizens make only $2.00 a day making products sold in america "made in china".

  • how do/can we trust you?why and how does the chinese army have more than a million man strong,(active) Army?

  • Meaning the Chinese army are not a real threat to America. They safeguard their own borders. My favorite part about this region, is that one could lose a job and pick up another within 24 hours. The average salary in HK varies from 2500 USD to 4000, on Taiwan, about the same.

On the mainland it is around $1200 and always includes free housing and meals at $1.50 with breakfast around 50 cents. Jobs for westerners are plentiful if locals can't do them, such as teach.

  • I can't see why Americans think this country is a threat, when they are only safeguarding their borders.?
