I am a vocal opponent of Black on Black ( & ALL ) crime and support the mayor of New Orleans anti-gang effort against ghetto jihadis I call chocolate Klansmen.
As an equal opportunity anti crime activist Ive watched for my three years in New Orleans while a smelly, often vulgar and violent group of gangs collectively called gutter punks, are allowed to run wild with impunity, even in front of New Orleans police officers???
From the vantage points of Duncan Plaza across from City Hall and world famous Canal St, Ive watched this mayor and his police treat them like ambassadors.
The same Canal St zone where aggressive panhandling is enforced, mostly against homeless Blacks, plays host to open begging by this group with little police interference.
This area is New Orleans police 8th district and I have nothing but love for many of the street officers Ive met there.
Ive watched gutter punks threaten people and illegally block traffic during numerous Occupy Nola protests with no police response.
Many of them are drug addicts and score drugs as the only White faces in Black drug zones without being stopped.
They menace and fight people in the French Quarters without any of the intense response Black criminals doing the same would get.
On Aug 22nd, I witnessed a well documented gutter punk contingent block traffic and threaten to attack neighbors in the Marigny community during a Justice For Merritt Landry rally.

An NOPD lieutenant and officers, ironically including one I'd once filed a complaint against, were on scene but did nothing.
A fellow anti crime activist once told me an officer he questioned about this said the mayor declared " hands off " on gutter punks because they're " part of the local culture. "
I'm not a liberal so please don't misunderstand this article. I want all groups of thugs rounded up as many times as it takes to shut them down.
I'm hard on gangs of any color but New Orleans Democrat mayor is soft on gutter punks for reasons which baffle supporters of color blind law and order.
