Nov. 4 It Begins’
The "non-violent" protest group Refuse Fascism is planning to spark a new round of protests against President Donald Trump and his administration around the country on Nov. 4.September 27, 2017
A group aligned with Antifa and other anti-Trump “resistance” organizations has announced it will launch a new round of protests—likely violent—against President Donald Trump’s election on Nov. 4.
The group, which calls itself Refuse Fascism, launched its get-the-word-out efforts Tuesday evening by blocking the 101 Freeway in Los Angeles. Protesters “took a knee” while holding up letter signs that spelled out “NOV 4 IT BEGINS.”
“It” in this case is an ongoing protest of the Trump-Pence administration and the 2016 election results that put it in power in Washington, D.C. According to the Refuse Fascism website:
We will gather in the streets and public squares of cities and towns across this country, at first many thousands declaring that this whole regime is illegitimate and that we will not stop until our single demand is met: This Nightmare Must End: the Trump/Pence Regime Must Go!
Our protest must grow day after day and night after night—thousands becoming hundreds of thousands, and then millions—determined to act to put a stop to the grave danger that the Trump/Pence Regime poses to the world by demanding that this whole regime be removed from power.
The group claims to be non-violent civil disobedient protesters, but they are already fundraising to set up a pool of money to pay for bail and court costs associated with future arrests. The group was previously involved in the Berkley protests of conservative journalist Ben Shapiro that involved Antifa.
The group’s co-founder, Sunsara Taylor, says she does not condemn “any tactics” used in protest because of the “extraordinarily fascist nature of the Trump administration.”
