Judges serve AS LONG as they operate within moral and lawful limits... Good Behavior. See Article 3, Section 1, Clause 1 of the US Constitution.

The President appoints judges and is the Chief Executive Officer of the United States Government... (See Article 2, Section 1, Clause 1 US Constitution)  and is also the Nation's Chief Constitutional Law Enforcement Officer, (See Article 2, Section 3 US Constitution). Acting within the authority of these Constitutional offices he may REMOVE a Judge for Bad Behavior... Activist judges can be fired by the President.

The removal of Judges by a president's order is part of the CHECKS AND BALANCES that are part of our Constitution and democratic Republic. Pres. Lincoln arrested and removed a Supreme Court Justice... setting a precedent for the future if the need arises to do the same.

  • Judges may be removed from the bench by Presidential Executive Order or upon Impeachment and conviction by Congress. Lincoln removed a US Supreme Court Justice by Executive Order and Presidential warrant. Don't let some lawyer or judge tell you judges have lifetime appointments... they serve only if they maintain 'GOOD BEHAVIOR' as determined by the Constitutional authority removing the Judge... the President or Congress.
