Enshrining Muslims as a protected class
.
{wnd.com} ~ While it might be no surprise, that which our esteemed affirmative-action Attorney General Loretta Lynch is apparently unable to do by decree, radicals in the Democratic Party are attempting to do through legislation... One may recall that Lynch recently threatened to prosecute anyone who advocated violent action against Muslims in the United States as a response to escalating acts of violence by Muslims. A group of Democratic lawmakers want to take Lynch’s initiative a step further. In a measure similar to laws passed in some European nations, House Resolution 569 is a bill that seeks to criminalize “violence, bigotry, and hateful rhetoric towards Muslims in the United States.” The Resolution, submitted on Dec. 17, is currently on its way to the House Committee on the Judiciary. We’ve been telling Americans for some time that the enshrining of Muslims as a protected class is coming, and measures such as this are efforts to that end..
USS Harry S. Truman Launches Anti-ISIS U.S. Carrier Strikes After 2.5 Month Pause

{news.usni.org} ~ After a two-and-a-half month pause, the U.S. is again launching anti-Islamic State in Iraq and Syria strikes from an aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf, the Navy announced on Tuesday... Boeing F/A-18s launched at night from the deck of USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75) to launch the first carrier-based strikes for Operation Inherent Resolve since the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group left the Persian Gulf in October. The Truman CSG joins French nuclear carrier Charles de Gaulle (R 91) which has been launching fighters in the Persian Gulf since Nov. 23. “Dual carrier operations with the French allow us to maximize our firepower and provide a unique opportunity to further progress against ISIS,” Rear Adm. Bret Batchelder, commander, Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 8 said in a Navy statement. Two carriers allow more flexibility in operations, Carrier Air Wing 7 commander Capt. Fredrick Luchtman said in the same statement. http://news.usni.org/2015/12/30/video-uss-harry-s-truman-launches-anti-isis-strikes-from-after-2-month-carrier-gap?utm_source=USNI+News&utm_campaign=85dc1366cd-USNI_NEWS_DAILY&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_0dd4a1450b-85dc1366cd-231491269&mc_cid=85dc1366cd&mc_eid=3999f18767.

A new era in South Korean–
Japanese relations begins
.
{aei.org} ~ The news out of Tokyo and Seoul on the eve of the New Year was nothing short of blockbuster. After decades of dispute, recrimination, and ill will... Asia’s two most powerful democracies agreed to resolve one of the bitterest lingering issues from World War II. In forthrightly offering “his most sincere apologies and remorse to all the women who underwent immeasurable and painful experiences and suffered incurable physical and psychological wounds,” Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe appears to have succeeded in bringing diplomatic closure to the issue of South Korea’s “comfort women” — captives forced to have sex with Japanese servicemen. There are officially 64 surviving comfort women in South Korea today, out of the tens of thousands forcibly taken by the Imperial Japanese Army for sexual services during World War II. The question of official responsibility for the “comfort women” has plagued postwar relations between Tokyo and Seoul, becoming among the most rancorous of disputes resulting from Japan’s 35-year colonization of the Korean peninsula, from 1910 to 1945. Tokyo has claimed that the issue was resolved with the 1965 normalization of relations between Japan and South Korea and the establishment of a private fund in the 1990s to provide compensation to surviving comfort women. http://www.aei.org/publication/a-new-era-in-south-korean-japanese-relations-begins/?utm_source=paramount&utm_medium=email&utm_content=AEITODAY&utm_campaign=123115.

A Poll Asked Military Members
How They Felt About Hilly —
And Here’s What They Said
.
{patriotsandpolitics.com} ~ A recent poll conducted by Rasmussen asked active duty and retired U.S. military members what they thought about 2016 Democrat presidential candidate Hilly Clinton... As it turns out, their opinion of the former Secretary of State and First Lady was not very good. An overwhelming 81% viewed her unfavorably. That included a whopping 69% who had a “Very Unfavorable” impression of her. Only an anemic 15% of military members had a favorable impression of her. Ouch. If you can’t get the military to stand behind you, what kind of Commander in Chief do you think you are going to be?

nObama launches 'secret'
new immigration scheme
.
{wnd.com} ~ In the final hours of 2015 the nObama administration has quietly proposed a host of rule changes that critics say will end up being a bonanza for foreign students and illegal immigrants seeking work in the U.S. while putting a dagger in the hearts of thousands of American workers... The rules, as proposed by nObama’s Department of Homeland Security, make it easier for employers to hire and retain foreign workers who have not yet received their green cards or “lawful protected resident” status. The U.S. already hands out approximately 1 million green cards per year, but under the proposed changes those foreigners who apply unsuccessfully for a green card can enter the workforce with a temporary work permit.

Of course, prejudice against Muslims should be condemned. But the accusation of Islamophobia confuses prejudice with legitimate criticism of Islam and concerns about Islamic extremism.

An example of this has surfaced in Britain with the publication by an organization called Hope not Hate (HnH), titled, "The Counter-Jihad Movement: Anti-Muslim Hatred from the Margins to the Mainstream."

Outrageously, the document links neo-Nazi and fascist groups with Middle East scholars such as Dr. Daniel Pipes and even with courageous Muslim reformers such as Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, president of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, and stellar counter- jihadists such as the Somalian campaigner Ayaan Hirsi Ali.

A number of these counter-jihadists already live under a permanent Islamist threat to their lives. Yet, astoundingly, HnH accuses them of spreading anti-Muslim hatred.

I, too, am included in this grotesque list, even though I have repeatedly acknowledged the many millions of Muslims who are neither extreme nor violent and emphasized that the Islamist perspective is merely one interpretation of Islam. Moreover, I am described as a "supporter of Israel" — as if it is axiomatic that Israel supporters will be Muslim-bashers.

Like several other victims of this document's smears, I have placed this matter in the hands of my lawyers. But there is a yet more disturbing aspect to this calumny. For HnH is supported and backed by mainstream UK Jewish organizations.

HnH was an offshoot of the anti-fascist paper Searchlight from which HnH's executive director, Nick Lowles, split in 2011. Lowles, a far-left activist, has equated anti-fascism not with fighting totalitarian Islamists but with attacking Islamophobia.

Although he did condemn al-Muhajiroun as a "hate group," praised the banning of a radical preacher from the London School of Economics and condemned Islamic State, most of his attacks have been directed not at Islamic extremists but at those who fight them.

Despite the message of "solidarity" Lowles offered the murdered Charlie Hebdo journalists, in 2012 he implied that the magazine was somehow asking for it by "publishing obscene cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad." He went further. All anti-jihadists, he claimed, were really "Muslim haters." So he drew no distinction between those who really were prejudiced against Muslims and those who fought Islamist extremism and violence.

And he went further still. "There is a depressingly symbiotic relationship between the Muslim haters and the very people they claim to oppose. They need each other. In fact, they welcome the actions of the other to justify their own activities."

Did the CST really not know about any of this? Even now it won't condemn HnH or its report. I asked it why it had not denounced HnH for putting courageous Muslim reformers at further risk by accusing them of spreading hatred of Islam, and for implying that Israel-supporters should be presumed by definition to hold such hateful views.

This was its reply. "CST's past support of HnH was because of its many years of work against the far Right. We note that legal actions have begun regarding this report, and do not, therefore, wish to publicly comment on this particular matter."

Such an unholy alliance was rooted in the assumption among many Diaspora Jews, especially those on the Left, that anti-Semitism and thuggish political violence are to be found only among neo-Nazis or on the far-right. It is an article of faith that what is not Left is Right, what is Right is evil and so all that is not Left is evil.

As a result of this mindset, neo-Nazis are conflated with democratic nationalists who merely want to halt the mass immigration now threatening to submerge Europe. They, too, are thus deemed to be fascists.

Mostly, though, it reflects the equation made by Diaspora Jews between anti-Semitism and Islamophobia. This equation is utterly false. Anti-Semitism is pure bigotry, reflecting hatred of Jews not for what they do but for what they are. Islamophobia, by contrast, is nothing other than a mind-bending smear designed to stigmatize and silence all who seek to expose or fight Islamic extremism and holy war.

The result of this false equation is that UK Jewish leaders have identified the community with the campaign to eradicate Islamophobia. This means they stigmatize as Islamophobic anyone — including Jews and courageous gentile supporters of Israel — who criticizes aspects of the religion or culture of Islam.
