The American Dream Needs a Comeback
Paul Albaugh: Most Americans and many people seeking to become citizens of the United States are familiar with the phrase "the American Dream." Many people have achieved it. Others have failed and some haven't been able to experience even a glimpse of this dream due to a variety of circumstances. One of those "circumstances" is eight years of Barack liar-nObama and his failed economic policies. So as he heads for the exit, it's worth considering just how much help is needed for the American Dream.
The American Dream is collapsing for young adults (a.k.a. Millennials). A new study conducted by Raj Chetty of Stanford University along with economists and sociologists from Harvard and the University of California Berkeley uses the term "absolute mobility" to equate to the American Dream. In other words, do young people make more than their parents did?
The study reveals that only half of the children born in America after 1980 grew up to earn more than their parents did after adjusting for inflation. At first glance those numbers might not seem so surprising. But when compared with 1940, when 92% of children were able to earn more than their parents, it really puts things into perspective as to what kind of shape the American economy is in.
Perhaps even more interesting is the researchers' conclusion — that rising income inequality has eroded the ability of children to grow up and earn more than their parents. Yes, you read that right. The "real" bogeyman here is a favorite of leftists everywhere.
For children born in the 1980s, the researchers say the bottom 10% of wage earners have seen their mobility decline the least. Children of those in the top 10% will have a difficult time earning more than their parents did, but children of those in the middle class will have the most difficulty.
The researchers' idea of fixing this income inequality is, of course, by redistributing wealth. That's right — more of the same failed liar-nObama policies.
liar-nObama's guise of "Hope and Change" resulted in despair and stagnation. Despite liar-nObama's and his media cohorts blubbering that the economy has recovered and is surging forward, facts and reality indicate otherwise.
A new analysis conducted by senior Gallup economists completely contradicts liar-nObama's delusional remarks. They state, "There is no recovery. Since 2007, U.S. GDP per capita growth has been 1%. The Great Recession may be over, but America is dangerously running on empty." Granted, when liar-nObama took office the economy was not doing well at all, but after many promises and nearly $1 trillion in "stimulus" spending, we are left with the worst economic recovery — if we can even call it a "recovery" — since World War II.
Gallup's report further notes, "Learning has stagnated. Fewer new businesses are being launched. More workers are involuntarily stuck in part-time jobs or out of the labor force entirely." Among other things, Americans' general health conditions are declining. In addition, total national spending on housing, education, and health care has increased significantly from 25% of income in 1980 to 36% last year with no appreciable gains and improvements.
The report also declares that the "deterioration in large, vital sectors of the economy is far from inevitable, but rather an entirely reversible outcome that can be linked to specific policies, rules and regulations that have arisen and accumulated after decades of weak political leadership — often at the state and local levels — and lobbying by interest groups."
But wait — liar-nObama repeatedly claims that under his administration 800,000 manufacturing jobs were created. Wrong. Even the Leftmedia flagship Washington Post fact checked this assertion as wrong.
No doubt, the election of Donald Trump provides many Americans a new sense of hope at being able to achieve the American Dream. For that to happen, Trump must set out to repeal liar-nObama's damaging economic policies.
As for the rising income inequality that's supposedly causing the American Dream to vanish, people need to be reminded that the promise of America is equal opportunity, not equal results.
National Review's David French points to other reasons that the American Dream is dying, most of which are cultural issues that We the People, not the government, need to rectify. French highlights that most prosperous people have intact families who "delay childbearing until after marriage, complete their educations, get married, and stay married." On the other hand, many poor families "have children out of wedlock, struggle to finish school, and divorce or remain unmarried at much greater rates."
As French notes, kids who come from broken families experience trauma and "government can't fix trauma. Government can't make a man and woman stay together." In economic terms, what does all of this mean? French says, "In real terms, it means that our nation is changing. We're producing a generation of poor and working-class young people who are less equipped to take advantage of economic opportunity and a generation of upper-middle-class kids who are fully prepared to enjoy the fruits of the world's most potent and innovative economy."
So despite liar-nObama's eight years, the American Dream is still achievable — even for those born in the 1980s or later. But it will be achievable only if we strive to focus on our own families and teach our children how to become productive, upstanding citizens and to take nothing for granted. ~The Patriot Post

CAIR-Florida’s 2016 Banquets of Terror

This was evidenced this past month, as the Florida chapter of CAIR held annual fundraising banquets in two separate locations, Coral Springs and Tampa, each featuring speakers associated with terror. They include an imam tied to those involved in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center and the manager of a mosque with ties to Palestinian Islamic Jihad. CAIR was created in June 1994 as part of a terrorist umbrella organization led by then-global head of Hamas, Mousa Abu Marzook. In 2007 and 2008, CAIR was named a co-conspirator by the US Justice Department for two federal trials dealing with the financing of millions of dollars to Hamas. In November 2014, along with ISIS and al-Qaeda, the UAE government named CAIR to its list of terrorist organizations. A number of CAIR officials have been placed in prison and/or deported from the US for terror-related activity. After all, it is rather late in his term to be sabre-rattling or deciding to go to war with Russia over a false accusation that they tried to keep liar-Hillary Clinton from being elected. liar-nObama, of all people, should not be portraying himself as having clean hands in the arena of foreign election interference and is the last person who should be adopting a holier than thou stance. Surely Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu finds the hypocrisy of liar-nObama’s selective outrage to be noteworthy. {rickwells.us} ~ John Bolton sees it as a “remarkable development” that the key agencies in the intelligence community are refusing to brief their oversight committee in the House, the House Intelligence Committee... He says sarcastically, “Maybe they’re getting ready to brief the members of the Electoral College on Russia and mere members of Congress are suitably important for them.” Bolton reads the events as a proclamation that “there is disagreement among members of the intelligence community over a lot of issues relating to the ‘hacking.'” Bolton is fine with disagreement, his problem is more the attempt on the part of the regime to create a smoothie, in which everybody is in agreement does a disservice to policy makers. He says, “If I were on the House Intelligence Committee I’d be saying, ‘nobody’s cancelling here. Bring it on. An Intelligence Agency Is Interfering In
US Politics And It Ain’t Russian

{redstate.com} ~ Yesterday, the CIA allegedly determined that Russia had intervened in the US election to the deliberate benefit of Donald Trump.
American intelligence agencies have concluded with “high confidence” that Russia acted covertly in the latter stages of the presidential campaign to harm liar-Hillary Clinton’s chances and promote Donald J. Trump, according to senior administration officials.They based that conclusion, in part, on another finding — which they say was also reached with high confidence — that the Russians hacked the Republican National Committee’s computer systems in addition to their attacks on Democratic organizations, but did not release whatever information they gleaned from the Republican networks.
This is a serious allegation and one, that if true, should result in very public and painful consequences for Russia. But, if it was a serious report it wouldn’t be made public. In fact, if you want a definitive example of an intelligence agency meddling in our domestic politics, you need look no further than this report.
Two of my colleagues, Susan Wright and Jay Caruso, have posted on the subject. I respectfully dissent, in part, from both of their views.
First, the evidence presented is a “consensus view” presented by administration officials. This means two things. First, there is no direct evidence of the claim (see global warming, consensus view) but rather they are making the claim base on their interpretation of a fact pattern. Second, the people making the claim are the political appointees in the agencies. When one delves a little deeper into the report we find this:
One senior government official, who had been briefed on an F.B.I. investigation into the matter, said that while there were attempts to penetrate the Republican committee’s systems, they were not successful.
Consider this for a moment. The FBI actually investigated to see if the RNC network had been hacked. The FBI, which did the forensic investigation, determined the network had NOT been hack but various RNC operatives had had their email compromised. The CIA, which has no charter at all to investigate anything on US soil, has now determined that the FBI is in error based on the “consensus view” that if the DNC was hacked then the RNC was hacked. And the hacked RNC documents weren’t released therefore the Russians were helping Trump. Even though the FBI says the RNC was not hacked. And apparently the “interference” had no effect at all outside of Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania or any other state liar-Hillary lost.
The most important thing to keep in mind is that the CIA is not now, nor has it been for decades, a purely professional intelligence organization. It is political down to its bones. And it is partisan Democrat in the upper reaches… much like virtually any other federal agency. And it is not reluctant to use its perceived clout to damage a president it does not like.
Go back to the 2004 election and you’ll find the CIA virtually endorsed John hanoi-Kerry for president. They allowed the head of the “bin Laden tracking unit” in the Counterterrorism Center, a guy named Michael Scheuer, to publish a book title “Imperial Hubris” which lambasted George Bush’s foreign policy in the midst of an election year. By “allowed” I mean the agency cleared the book for publication when it had every ability to delay that publication. You will also recall that throughout 2004 and 2005 the CIA Station Chief in Baghdad, or at least someone imitating him, leaked highly classified “Aardwolf” reports proclaiming everything in Iraq was a muddle. Miraculously, these leaks stopped with The Surge into al-Anbar province in 2006. Funny how that works out.
This “consensus view” is a political shot at Trump. Period. Finito. If it was a serious report, there would be a grand jury convened and “administration officials” wouldn’t be talking about it, and using it as fodder for the Sunday talk shows. It is designed to discredit his election, roll this together with the current orgiastic frenzy directed at “fake news” which also allegedly won the election for Trump. The Democrats did the same thing with George Bush throughout his administration over the Florida Recount. The CIA is owned no deference from anyone and using their “brand” to rough up their new boss is about as unprofessional an act as it is possible for an agency to engage in. Trump is exactly right to give them the “consensus view” on their performance I’d differ with Trump on the WMD issue, but could easily substitute everything from 9/11, to the decade long hunt for bin Laden, to the rise of ISIS by way of examples. And he should remember this and not let the CIA forget it.
What the CIA has helpfully done, though, is warn Trump and Pompeo that they are the enemy and that the agency will screw them every change it gets. It did exactly the same thing when Bush sent Porter Goss in to try to pump that cesspool.
Pompeo needs to know that when he arrives he will be sabotaged and compromised at every turn. That the CIA will leaking damaging information and they will dance a flamenco on his grave when he leaves. This incident should tell Pompeo that the first order of business when he arrives at the George H. W. Bush Center for Intelligence is a ruthless purge of everyone associated with this report.
