"Giving up the high area of the Golan Heights may put Israel at great security disadvantage, and it is unnecessary to say that I cannot think of anyone more unworthy of receiving such a prize than Syrian dictator Bashar Assad," he added. Qatar, the ‘Israel Lobby,’ and the Secret List of 250 with Influence

{ meforum.org } ~ In 2017 the Gulf emirate of Qatar, home to a large US military base, found itself suddenly isolated by its neighbor Saudi Arabia and Riyadh’s allies in the UAE, Egypt and Bahrain... Doha was worried about losing allies in Washington, especially in the Trump administration. So it set about recruiting lobbyists and allies who provided it with a list of 250 “Trump influencers,” according to a new article. At the same time people in Qatar were concerned that a documentary Al Jazeera had made in 2017, featuring footage from an undercover investigator supposedly exposing the “Israel lobby,” might be used against Al Jazeera to force it to register as a “foreign agent.” Now bits of that documentary have been leaked at the same time as the list of 250 influencers has come to light. Taken together the two incidents are embarrassing for the emirate and also show the lengths it went to in the US to find favor in Washington. On August 29 The Wall Street Journal published a report that Qatar had “targeted 250 Trump ‘influencers’ to change US policy.” The report covers some familiar names, such as New York restaurateur Joey Allaham and Nick Muzin, a former deputy chief of staff to US Sen. Ted Cruz. “Mr. Allaham’s and Mr. Muzin’s lobbying firms earned at least $3 million from their work for Qatar,” the article says. Part of their strategy was to come up with the names “250 people Mr. Allaham says he and his lobbying-business partner, Nick Muzin, identified as influential in President Donald Trump’s orbit.” Qatar was going big in lobbying in 2017 to salvage its position in Washington, spending $16m. Among the 250 influencers were two dozen who were sent on trips to Qatar, including former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, as well as Alan Dershowitz. Some of those targeted say they didn’t know the reason for the trips. “If I had known their purpose with me was maybe to impact the president, I would not have gone,” Dershowitz told the Journal. Huckabee got a “$50,000 honorarium” for the visit. by Thomas Gallatin: In their ongoing campaign to obstruct President Donald Trump at every turn, dummycrats-Democrats have been digging deep into their bag of tricks. This week’s objective is to derail the confirmation of Trump Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, a man who by all measures has proven himself to be a fair judge with a brilliant judicial mind. In other words, he’s just the type of person all Americans who hold the Constitution in high esteem should want sitting on the nation’s highest court. But clearly, dummycrats-Democrats and their increasingly hard-left base want little to do with constitutionally consistent jurisprudence. No, if a justice doesn’t commit to standing in support of leftist causes, then that person must be declared “unfit” for the job. But it’s difficult to label a man as evil if nothing in his history supports such a conclusion, so dummycrats-Democrats and their Leftmedia cohorts must manufacture a smear with the hope that it will taint a good man’s reputation enough to promote their own agenda.
A classic example of this smear campaign was demonstrated at Kavanaugh’s first day of hearings on Tuesday. After being delayed by several leftist protesters, the hearing was interrupted numerous times by protesters randomly shouting statements against Kavanaugh and Trump. As we previously noted, it was a circus. So, within this obviously hostile environment, a designed moment was staged to rattle Kavanaugh. As the hearing broke for lunch, a man suddenly jumped up to shake Kavanaugh’s hand, but Kavanaugh, clearly unfamiliar with who the individual was, did not return the shake in part because he was turned around by security and escorted out.
The scene was captured by a press photographer (just as intended), and it went viral on social media. The stunt man wrote, “Just walked up to Judge Kavanaugh as morning session ended. Put my hand to introduce myself as [Parkland victim] Jaime Guttenberg’s dad. He pulled his hand back, turned his back to me and walked away. I guess he did not want to deal with the reality of gun violence.” So Kavanaugh is really not a nice guy, you see, and he doesn’t care about “gun violence.”
Once again there is much more to the story that reveals both motive and who was behind this whole smear. Fred Guttenberg, the father of a victim of the Parkland attack, was invited to the hearing by none other than Demo gun-grabber extraordinaire Dianne Fein-stein. After the hearing, she bragged, “I invited Fred Guttenberg to sit in the audience at today’s hearing because the Supreme Court affects the lives of real people. He knows firsthand how Brett Kavanaugh’s extreme views on guns could lead to more massacres. Thank you Fred, for honoring your daughter.”
And Guttenberg himself was no mere gullible pawn of the dummycrats-Democrats. On Monday, Guttenberg wrote, “I will be at Kavanaugh hearings and I hope to play a role in ensuring that this man does not become the next Supreme Court Justice.” Play a role, indeed. This whole event was a classic dummycrats-Democrat setup, orchestrated to smear Kavanaugh.
