Aside from the rise of hand sanitizer stations across the complex, White House officials are educating staff on hygiene, sick days, and remote-work policies, Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham told the Daily Caller on Friday. A group led by White House Deputy Chief of Staff Tony Ornato is also reviewing further measures including taking the temperatures of visitors, according to the New York Post. “The White House Complex has, and will continue to reassess circumstances and adopt new processes and safe practices,” Grisham said. “While we are taking every common-sense precaution necessary to protect federal employees, our policies and procedures remain in line with the President’s guidance to the country – and that is to continue to do everything we can to avoid disruptions to the day-to-day business of leading our Nation.”  President Donald Trump’s planned trip to visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta was briefly cancelled Friday morning after an employee there was suspected of contracting COVID-19.  The employee was tested and the results came out as negative, however, and Trump’s trip to the headquarters was put back on the itinerary at the end of the day. The news comes amid reports of the first cases of coronavirus in the Washington, D.C. area. Republican Governor Larry Hogan said the three patients in Maryland are in “good condition,” according to the Washington Post. { dailycaller.com } ~ San Francisco ignored multiple pleas by federal immigration authorities to transfer custody of a criminally convicted illegal alien... revealing how far city leaders will go to refuse cooperation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).  ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations officers apprehended an unnamed illegal alien near a courthouse in San Francisco, California, on Tuesday, the agency revealed in a press release. The arrest marked the latest development in an ongoing saga between ICE and San Francisco officials regarding this particular alien, whom they refused to hand over despite his extensive criminal history. The illegal alien, who was not identified by the agency, had been arrested by local law enforcement at least seven times in the past five years. ICE had lodged eight detainers with law enforcement following his arrests, but the agency said that because of “sanctuary laws,” he was able to be released back into the community each time. “For many years, the city and county of San Francisco has refused to cooperate with ICE — much to their own detriment,” said ICE San Francisco Field Office Director David Jennings. “Criminals like this individual are released to reoffend again and again,” Jennings continued. “A simple phone call to ICE to arrange the secure transfer of such individuals would serve the hard working residents of the city far more than a misguided sanctuary policy that, as proven here and numerous times in the past, goes to great lengths to protect criminals under the guise of protecting the citizenry.” The illegal alien was a convicted criminal, carrying three felony convictions for second-degree burglary from 2019, 2017 and 2016...   https://dailycaller.com/2020/03/06/san-francisco-criminal-illegal-alien/?utm_source=&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=12159

The rule in question previously required state-run laboratories to only run medical tests pre-approved by the F.D.A. Commissioner Stephen Hahn first addressed the testing problem on Saturday by issuing new guidance that would allow the state labs to conduct not-yet-approved  coronavirus testing on patients in response to the public health emergency. In return for skirting the scumbag/liar-nObama-era regulation, laboratories must apply for an F.D.A. review of the new test, document the test’s accuracy and notify the F.D.A. of the test’s validity prior to F.D.A. completing the approval process. “We believe this policy strikes the right balance during this public health emergency,” said FDA Commissioner Stephen M. Hahn of the rule change. “We will continue to help to ensure sound science prior to clinical testing and follow-up with the critical independent review from the FDA, while quickly expanding testing capabilities in the U.S.” “This action today reflects our public health commitment to addressing critical public health needs and rapidly responding and adapting to this dynamic and evolving situation.” Vice President Mike Pence confirmed to reporters Wednesday that the rule in question had in fact been reversed, and  President Donald Trump addressed it during his Wednesday meeting with airline officials at the White House. “The scumbag/liar-nObama administration made a decision on testing that turned out to be very detrimental to what we’re doing, and we undid that decision a few days ago so that the testing can take place at a much more accurate and rapid fashion,” Trump stated. “That was a decision we disagreed with. Reacting to the public threats scumbag-Schumer made Wednesday, in which the senator singled out for retribution the two justices by name, Levin tweeted that scumbag-Schumer’s “loathsome conduct” has endangered the justices and attempted to coerce them. scumbag-Schumer’s comments are especially egregious, given that he is both a lawyer and a Senate Democrat leader, Levin wrote, calling for the American Bar Association, the Senate and the Justice Department to take action: "1. Chuck scumbag-Schumer’s direct threats today against two Supreme Court justices absolutely does endanger them. The Chief Justice said as much.  scumbag-Schumer also insisted that the justices rule on an active case as he demands." "2. scumbag-Schumer should be sanctioned by the Bar, admonished by the Senate, investigated by the Senate ethics committee, and even reviewed by the DOJ. This ongoing tragedy is mostly man-made, according to an analysis by Paul Driessen, who is a senior policy adviser with the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT) and the Center for the Defense of Free Enterprise. Driessen says that billions of desert locusts have attacked the eastern Africa nations of Kenya, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti and Somalia. According to the U.N., the locust attack in Kenya is the worst in 70 years and the worst in 25 years for other east African nations. Locusts are destroying crops and threatening tens of millions of Africans with lost livelihoods and starvation. These locust swarms can blanket 460 square miles at a time and consume more than 400 million pounds of vegetation daily. They reproduce fast, too, meaning locust swarms could be 500 times bigger in six months. Africa's locust plague is man-made. Economic development organizations and activist nongovernmental organizations have foisted "agroecology" on the poorest nations — an organic-style agriculture. They promote the virtues of peasant farming. So how do these poor farmers fight the locust plague? Driessen says: "Desperate Africans are responding with 'time-tested' methods: whistling and shouting loudly, banging on metal buckets, waving blankets and sticks, crushing the bugs perhaps even roasting and eating them, under UN-approved nutrition programs. In Eritrea, they are using 'more advanced' methods: hand-held and truck-mounted sprayers. In Kenya, police are firing machine guns and tear gas into the swarms!" Antonio Guterres of Portugal, the U.N. secretary-general, claimed global warming as a cause of the problem. He said there is a link between climate change and the unprecedented locust crisis plaguing Ethiopia and East Africa. Guterres said: "Warmer seas mean more cyclones generating the perfect breeding ground for locusts. Today the swarms are as big as major cities and it is getting worse by the day." Guterres' suggestion that global warming is the cause of today's plague is sheer nonsense. Locust infestations have been feared and revered throughout mankind's history. Devastating locust attacks in Egypt around 1446 B.C. were mentioned in the Book of Exodus in the Bible. "The Iliad" describes locusts taking flight to escape fire. Plagues of locusts are also mentioned in the Quran. Driessen concludes: "A primary reason this plague of locusts has overwhelmed East Africa — indeed, perhaps THE primary reason — is that the UN Food and Agricultural Organization, other UN agencies and multiple environmentalist NGOs have been extolling and imposing 'agroecology' on Africa. This highly politicized 'movement' rabidly opposes hybrid seeds, synthetic insecticides and fertilizers, biotechnology, and even mechanized equipment like tractors! { jewishjournal.com } ~ At least 40 people have been quarantined against their will in a Palestinian hotel near Bethlehem, in the West Bank, due to an outbreak of coronavirus... They include 14 American citizens, as well as about 25 Palestinian guests and employees. The Angel Hotel, in mostly Christian Beit Jala, just west of the city where Jesus is said to have been born, is where seven people were discovered to have the virus, making them the first known cases in the Palestinian Authority, a matter made public on Thursday morning. “My staff and I are inside the hotel,” Maryana al-Arja, the manager, told The Media Line. “The Americans left the hotel this morning, but the Palestinian Tourism Police brought them back because they could not secure another lodging place” in the Bethlehem area, she said. “The seven people who are infected or suspected of being infected are inside the hotel.” She says that all the hotel guests are in private rooms and that PA health officials are present to make arrangements for transporting them to medical care. “The American guests are aware of the situation and are in contact with their country’s embassy,” Arja continued. “Israeli authorities have asked that the Americans be quarantined for 14 days before being admitted to Israel. So far, no samples have been taken from the Americans. We call on health officials to inform us of their plan.” The Israeli Defense Ministry ordered an end to crossings from the area until further notice. There are currently 17 known cases of coronavirus in Israel, where harsh measures have been imposed in an effort to stop the spread.  Foreign nationals arriving from several hard-hit countries in Asia and Europe are being denied entry to Israel, while Israelis returning from those nations are immediately being sent to quarantine.
