"I take responsibility for every decision I made, but that's not why I lost." So began liar-Hillary Clinton's latest blame-game festivities. Everyone was culpable except her, including, as usual, James Comey and "1,000 Russian agents," but also the DNC and "voter suppression." For good measure, she even poo-poohed her email scandal. Again. "My email account was turned into the biggest scandal since Lord knows when," liar-Clinton complained. "This was the biggest nothing-burger ever." Remember, her illegal server was designed specifically to conceal her communications and keep them from the public record. That gross deceit is anything but a "nothing-burger." Of the DNC, liar-Clinton whined, "I set up my campaign, and we have our own data operation. I get the nomination, so I'm now the nominee of the Democratic party. I inherit nothing from the Democratic party. I mean, it was bankrupt. It was on the verge of insolvency. Its data was mediocre to poor, nonexistent, wrong. I had to inject money into it." Fine thanks for a DNC that was guilty of actively working for her and against Bernie Sanders.
Then she turned to supposed "voter suppression," saying, "The AP did a really well-researched piece about voter suppression in Wisconsin, and they literally found people who showed up to vote and were turned away."
She also recently lamented to New York Magazine, "I would have won had I not been subjected to the unprecedented attacks by Comey and the Russians, aided and abetted by the suppression of the vote, particularly in Wisconsin." She further warned, "Whoever comes next, this is not going to end. Republicans learned that if you suppress votes you win."
Thus, despite winning the popular vote, liar-Clinton is peddling a new vast right-wing conspiracy: Republican voter ID laws and the like — or what Democrats refer to as "voter suppression" — in must-win states helped hijack the election, stealing from liar-Clinton a coronation she wrongly assumed was predetermined.
Of course, liar-Clinton's incorporating voter ID into her distortion-ridden cocktail of excuses is utter hubris. There is a reason identification is not only a requirement in some states but should be a prerequisite everywhere when electing leaders — because voter fraud is real. According to a new Public Interest Legal Foundation report, "Virginia election officials quietly removed 5,556 voters for non-citizenship between 2011 and May 2017; 1,852 of those removed as noncitizens cast ballots." This problem isn't confined to Virginia, either. National Review's John Fund writes, "In 2014, three professors from two Virginia universities estimated, based on comprehensive survey data, that 6.4 percent of the nation's non-citizen population voted illegally in the 2008 election, enough to have changed the outcome in some states. In 2008, more than 1,200 felons illegally cast votes in Minnesota's ultra-close Senate race, in which Al Franken was ultimately declared the winner by 312 votes." Yet it seems liar-Hillary is content with consoling herself by blaming Comey, the Russians and now voter suppression for her poor campaign and woefully unlikable self. ~The Patriot Post

Trial for Death of Ex-Girlfriend

Cathriona White killed herself, and her death was already officially ruled as a suicide by the LA County Coroner’s office, in July 2016. So why is the Dumb and Dumber actor being tried for the Irish makeup artist’s death? White’s mother, Brigid Sweetman, blames Carrey. She says he provided White with the prescription drug that she overdosed on. Raymond Boucher, Carrey’s lawyer, previously filed to have the case dismissed, but Sweetman is not giving up. {rickwells.us} ~ Former UN Ambassador John Bolton calls President Trump’s pronouncement that we have left the Paris Climate agreement an “excellent decision,”... describing the Paris accord as a “self-licking ice cream cone, its purpose is to exist. In the short term it really would have had next to no effect, the danger was in the longer term.” He explains his view that, “In the short term, it’s a bunch of national programs that you could have devised any way you wanted. Supreme Court to hear travel ban case

{washingtonexaminer.com} ~ President Trump's administration formally petitioned the Supreme Court to hear arguments over his travel ban in an expedited fashion and restore the ban immediately... The filing indicates Trump's team wants the high court to review the petition quickly so that arguments could begin promptly at the start of the next term. Scheduled oral arguments have ended for the existing term, which concludes this month. "Regardless of whether a stay is granted, the government respectfully requests expedited briefing and consideration of its petition of a writ of certiorari," said the Trump team on Thursday. For decades, conservative voters have allowed these RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) to use labels such as “Republican”, “conservative” and “Pro-Life” to get votes, but then once they get into office they govern like Democrats and we never seem to hold them accountable. So even though we have given the Republicans control of the White House, the Senate and the House of Representatives, the government continues to function pretty much as it did when the Democrats were running things. I was ten years old when Ronald Reagan won the 1980 election, and ever since that time I have regarded myself as a conservative. Specifically, let's talk about how and why I came to be one of the countless parents across America and around the world who have let their chronically ill children try it.
A groundbreaking new study published last week in the New England Journal of Medicine reported on the health benefits of cannabidiol for children with epilepsy. The randomized, double-blind, controlled study found that among children with Dravet syndrome taking cannabidiol, the decrease in the frequency of convulsive seizures was 23 percentage points greater than the decrease in seizures among children taking a placebo.
Cannabidiol is one of hundreds of chemical components found in cannabis plants. Unlike THC, the most famous of marijuana's compounds, CBD is nonhallucinogenic and nonaddictive. It doesn't make you high. CBD can be extracted from hemp and sold as an oil. That's what the pioneering Stanley Brothers of Boulder, Colorado, did several years ago when they conceived and manufactured "Charlotte's Web" -- named after Charlotte Figi, a Colorado Springs girl with Dravet syndrome whose seizures dramatically decreased after using CBD.
Until now, evidence of marijuana's benefits for pediatric epilepsy patients has been largely anecdotal. The new CBD study, led by researchers at the NYU Langone's Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, is a hugely significant development because it uses the scientific gold standard of a randomized controlled trial. Other limited clinical trials involving CBD have explored the drug's therapeutic benefits for pediatric patients with conditions ranging from anxiety to movement disorders to inflammatory diseases, multiple sclerosis and cancer.
My own interest in pediatric use of medicinal marijuana is more than academic.
When my daughter, Veronica, fell ill in late spring of 2015 -- unable to breathe normally, bedridden with chronic pain and fatigue -- she saw dozens of specialists. Among those doctors was a leading neurologist at one of Denver's most well-regarded hospitals who treated intractable cases. The various drugs prescribed to my daughter weren't working and had awful side effects.
One of them, a potent anti-epileptic drug called Trileptal, was supposed to treat the severe motor tic that left her gasping for air nonstop for months. But Trileptal ended up causing extreme loss of appetite, more fatigue and temporary dystonia, while doing nothing to alleviate the tics. The constant jerking of her body caused one of my daughter's hypermobile shoulders to dislocate multiple times a day -- increasing her pain and anxiety.
To our surprise, the mainstream neurologist suggested Veronica try CBD. This doctor had other young patients who used CBD oil with positive results, but she could not directly prescribe it because of her hospital affiliation. So we did our own independent research, talked to a Colorado Springs family whose son had great success using CBD to treat his Crohn's disease symptoms, consulted with other medical professionals and friends -- and entered a whole new world.
Two physicians signed off on our daughter's application for a medical marijuana card. She became one of more than 360 children under 18 to join Colorado's medical marijuana registry in 2015.
And we became pediatric pot parents.
For Veronica, CBD provided more relief than all the other mainstream pharmaceutical interventions she had endured, and without the scary side effects. But ultimately, it was a temporary remedy for her complicated basket of neurological and physiological conditions. We were glad for the chance to try CBD at the recommendation of medical professionals, and glad that so many other families are having success with it.
Our experience showed us the importance of increasing therapeutic choices in the marketplace for all families -- and trusting doctors and patients to figure out what works best.
It flies in the face of current science to classify CBD oil as a Schedule I drug, as the feds did at the end of 2016. Nor does it make sense to draw the line at CBD if some patients and doctors believe that the benefits of using THC therapeutically outweigh the potential harm.
As a lifelong social conservative, my views on marijuana policy may surprise some of you.
I used to be a table-pounding crusader for the government's war on drugs. When I worked in Seattle in the 1990s, I initially opposed efforts to legalize medical marijuana. I also opposed efforts to loosen restrictions on conducting studies on the potential therapeutic effects of using marijuana.
But the war on drugs has been a ghastly quagmire -- an expensive and selective form of government paternalism that has done far more harm than good. What has this trillion-dollar war wrought?
Overcrowded jails teeming with nonviolent drug offenders. An expanded police state enriched by civil asset forfeiture. And marginalization of medical researchers pursuing legitimate research on marijuana's possible therapeutic benefits for patients with a wide variety of illnesses.
The Trump administration has sent mixed signals on a medical marijuana crackdown.
So let me be clear as a liberty-loving, conservative mom: Keep your hands off. Let the scientists lead. Limited government is the best medicine.
