Reining in the EPA
By now it should come as no surprise that Donald Trump is making good on his campaign promises. Yesterday, Trump nominated Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt to head the EPA. Pruitt has a record of waging legal battles with Barack liar-nObama's over-regulating EPA. In fact, he's currently one of the leaders suing the EPA over its Clean Power Plan, which would create significant price increases for Americans' power bills while having negligible impact on the environment. Pruitt is a big proponent of states' rights over and against the unconstitutionally powerful EPA. Trump's transition team stated in its announcement that Pruitt is "an expert in Constitutional law [who] brings a deep understanding of the impact of regulations on both the environment and the economy."
Maybe the best endorsement for Pruitt has come from those ecofascist groups who, with an almost religious fervor, shout their opposition. Michael Brune, executive director of the Sierra Club, said, "Having Scott Pruitt in charge of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is like putting an arsonist in charge of fighting fires. He is a climate science denier who, as attorney general for the state of Oklahoma, regularly conspired with the fossil fuel industry to attack EPA protections." And Rhea Suh, president of the Natural Resourced Defense Council, lamented, "The mission of the EPA and its administrator requires an absolute commitment to safeguard public health and protect our air, land, water and planet. If confirmed, Pruitt seems destined for the environmental hall of shame."
Pruitt responded to his critics: "It should come as no surprise that I am working diligently with Oklahoma energy companies, the people of Oklahoma, and the majority of attorneys general to fight the unlawful overreach of the EPA and other federal agencies."
This is indeed good, because, especially over the last eight years, two of the most abusive and unaccountable federal agencies have been the IRS and the EPA. Now it appears that needed change will be coming in a big way, protecting Americans' freedoms and saving the nation from unneeded expensive and oppressive regulations. ~The Patriot Post

No Accountability (Yet) for IRS, Koskinen
On Tuesday, the House voted against impeaching IRS Commissioner John Koskinen and referred the matter to the Judiciary Committee. This decision allows Koskinen to continue leading the IRS, effectively delaying any potential accountability for the beleaguered commissioner. Conservative representatives quickly voiced their opposition to the House's decision. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) said, "We think Mr. Koskinen has to go. Koskinen [was] brought in to clean up the mess, and he has done, in my judgement, just the opposite." That "mess" being the political targeting of conservative groups that continues to this day.
Republican Study Committee Chairman Bill Flores (R-TX) emphasized why the House should have voted to hold Koskinen accountable, stating, "IRS Commissioner Koskinen has willfully misled Congress, refused to comply with House subpoenas, and violated the trust of the American people. Commissioner Koskinen should be impeached and removed from office."
While the IRS's Tea Party targeting scandal did not start during his watch, Koskinen has done little to nothing to clean up the corruption. In fact, he has proven to act mostly as a roadblock to Congress's investigation of the scandal. The GOP-lead House's failure to even hold a vote to impeach Koskinen means that the IRS chief will still be heading the agency during most of the first year of Donald Trump's presidency, as his term isn't up until November 2017.
However, several Republicans argued that the decision was simply a postponement to allow for the incoming Congress to take up the issue and vote on it. While it remains to be seen if that indeed will be the case, it does leave one wondering if this isn't yet another example of Congress merely kicking an uncomfortable issue further down the road. {rickwells.us} ~ It’s helpful when listening to one of these attacks on what the crooked Democrats are labeling “fake news,” to remember that the real purveyors of falsehoods are the mainstream media outlets... What lying hacks such as liar-Hillary Clinton and the rest of the establishment and globalist attack poodles are calling fake news is most often simply the truth. It’s the same truth that their mainstream outlets avoided like a plague in their effort to get their criminal candidate of choice elected. It is that truth, our First Amendment in action, that also exposed them for the complicit propagandists that they are when Mr. Trump was victorious. Were it not for those the truth reported by “fake news” outlets, liar-Hillary Clinton’s medical conditions, including her face plant outside the 9/11 memorial ceremony would not have been covered. We would never have heard about the emails that were found on Anthony Weiner’s laptop, or Huma Abedin’s problems with her security clearances or Mrs. liar-Clinton’s bad memory when under FBI questioning. They all told us there was nothing to this email story until they could no longer pretend pressured by the “fake news” citizen journalists. Were it not for the truth of “fake news,” liar-Hillary Clinton would now be president-elect...

Breaking Into State Computer System

{rickwells.us} ~ What was Homeland Security doing attempting to access the State of Georgia Secretary of State’s computer system a week after the election? ... Nobody gave them permission and no state officials had knowledge of the intrusion in advance. That’s a question that Brian Kemp, the Georgia Secretary of State wants an answer to and he’s written to the obstructionist, lawbreaking DHS Secretary, jihadi Jeh Johnson for an explanation. Since even high ranking members of Congress, whom he must obtain funding from, are routinely given a hand gesture that indicates they’re number one by Johnson, it’s unlikely that a lowly state official would get a response. It’s even less likely given that he seems to have been caught in the act of committing a cyber attack against one of our states. Tax Reform Requires Transparency

{aei.org} ~ As the tax reform debate heats up, Congress and the public will want to know the budgetary impact of tax reform proposals, putting revenue estimators like those at the Joint Committee for Taxation in the limelight... Right now, the assumptions made by these estimators, which will help determine whether tax proposals live and die in Congress, are kept as closely guarded secrets. It’s time to bring those assumptions into the light of day. For a case study on the importance of these assumptions, let’s consider an example from recent memory: liar-Hillary Clinton’ proposed 4 percent surtax on taxpayers with adjusted gross income over $5 million. The liar-Clinton campaign calculated that the 4 percent surcharge would reap $150 billion in revenue over a decade. {townhall.com} ~ Although Donald Trump has signaled that he doesn't intend to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate liar-Hillary Clinton, knowledgeable sources tell me that liar-Hillary is far from out of the legal woods.
And, these sources add, it’s liar-Hillary’s own fault that she’s still in trouble.
Trump tried to be magnanimous toward his vanquished adversary. “I don’t want to hurt the liar-Clintons,” he said in an interview with Lesley Stahl of 60 Minutes. “They’re good people. I don’t want to hurt them.”
But Trump was irate when sore-loser liar-Hillary joined forces with Green Party candidate Jill Stein and asked for a recount in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania.
Now, Trump is listening to a chorus of vengeful Republicans who don’t want to let liar-Hillary skate on her use of a private email server and her pay-to-play conflict of interest with the liar-Clinton Foundation.
A sure sign that Trump is reconsidering his position came when he announced he was asking the renowned prosecutor Preet Bharara to stay on as U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York.
As I reported in my recent New York Times bestseller Guilty As Sin, Bharara, who has specialized in rooting out public corruption, is a close friend of James Comey, the director of the FBI, who still has an open criminal investigation of the liar-Clinton Foundation.
Bharara’s jurisdiction extends to Chappaqua, New York, where liar-Hillary stashed her home brew email server. And Bharara and Comey have discussed the liar-Hillary email case on several occasions.
“If Bharara agrees to prosecute the liar-Hillary case,” I wrote, “he could bring it to the chief judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. She would assign the case to one of the Southern District’s forty-four judges, who in turn would then empanel a grand jury either in Manhattan or in White Plains, the county seat and commercial hub of Westchester County. The jury would decide whether the case against liar-Hillary should go to trial.”
