"Despite a firm denial by Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, a senior law enforcement source charges that she gave an order for police to stand down as riots broke out Monday night, raising more questions about whether some of the violence and looting could have been prevented." http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/04/29/source-baltimore-mayor-ordered-police-to-stand-down/
Once again chaos, denials and burnt building ensue after a 'Stand Down' order was given. Or not given. Once again we have reports on the ground differing from our leader's statements.
The U.S. House Intelligence Committee’s report on the Benghazi attacks in November stating on Page 20, Paragraph 2: "Although some security officers voiced a greater urgency to depart for the TMF, no officer at the CIA was ever told to stand down. The evidence from eyewitness testimony, ISR video footage, closed-circuit television recordings and other sources provides no support for the allegation that there was any stand-down order. However, Deja vu, According to the contractors on the ground: This statement is grossly incorrect. Kris Paronto, CIA security contractor, stated to the committee, looking Rep. Rogers directly in the eye, that he was delayed and was told to wait twice. Paronto also stated that the “27” minute delay and his team waiting was a severe military tactical mistake. The exact words “STAND DOWN” were used by the Chief of Base “Bob” to CIA security contractor, John Tiegen approximately 15 minutes after the initial “help” call from the DS agents on the radio at the facility under attack. http://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2014/12/02/cia-benghazi-heroes-debunk-house-intel-report-as-full-of-inaccuracies-with-firsthand-account-from-the-ground/
Our leaders were not held accountable during the Benghazi debacle, and it is highly doubtful that the Mayor of Baltimore will be held accountable during the Baltimore debacle.
One of our founders warned us against apathy when holding our leaders accountable.
"A body of men, holding themselves accountable to nobody, ought not to be trusted by anybody." Thomas Paine
And as a great America Icon said, "When you allow unlawful acts to go unpunished, you're moving toward a gov of men rather than a gov of law"- John Wayne.
