  • This exodus has come as the result of over taxation and it is as simple as that! Backroom political dealings and we have no other choice left but to meet or beat these offshore corporate tax rates or lose the business all together. Look at Obama's favorite toy "GE", they have gained the most for playing with Obama, and against the US interests, and they are paying a 3% rate! These corporate decisions were made because we no longer have a state department that is dealing in the best interests of our Nation.

    Our government is so large that it is completely dis-functional. It must be drastically cut, completely overhauled, and totally streamlined. It simply can no longer function as is. Government is so big (so large) that the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing and no one has any control of the shear size and volume of it. The only thing our government is now good for, is to create new departments and agencies, and more of them. There simply is no one in charge, nor is there anyone being held responsible!

    Unless we return to our constitutional principals, and our bill of rights, and unless we strictly enforce the required separation of the legislative and judicial branches, this Nation will not survive. If not by 2012 then it will simply no longer happen. We the People did not drive business out of America - special interest government has done that! Government is no longer doing its job because it simply is no longer qualified to do it

    Isn't it interesting that corporations avoid paying taxes and are permitted to do business in the US.  The True Tax lowers the corporate tax rate to 10%.  If these companies want to repatriate to the US they should pay a one time rate of 20%.  Otherwise, they should cease operations in the US.  Check this out:

I agree wholeheartedly and believe that we are way past this point already, which is why we must replace our flailing government, as corrupt and and ineffective it has become. Today, our government is self serving and completely useless to the people. Just look at what the Tea Party has begun, and much has yet to be accomplished. Government is so disconnected from reality that even as our economy is failing, and we are being sucked into this fiscal black hole, it keeps on spending more.

    THIS SELF-SERVING INSTITUTION MUST BE STOPPED, NOW, AND 2012 IS OUR LAST CHANCE!

    There is no question that the 2.4 trillion of additional Obama money is a total waste and the worst possible action we could possibly be taking at this time. The cut back on spending must ne made immediately and the savings must be realized. The perfect place to start is to eliminate Obamacare and eliminate all newly added Obama government jobs while we have been in recession (since the beginning of 2009). Unfortunately and until "We the People" regain that power you spoke of, the power to control our government, a reversal of course is unattainable!

    Again, 2012 must change all of that, which will require it to be a revolutionary election, or "We the People" will have lost this Nation to the politician! The UN, nor the New World Order, none of them would be a problem were it not for the fact that our politicians have refused to adhere to our Constitution and the Bill of Rights!  

  • Is It 1787 Again?

     

    Much has been said lately about the current direction of our great American country.  Our National debt must be acknowledged by any faction to be ridiculously, obscenely out of control.  The Federal Government has usurped authority and control of our freedoms that was not allowed to them by our Constitution and we seem to have no voice in the matter.  In these times, I feel moved to repeat the following lines:

     

    “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.  That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.  Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.  But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.” (The various emphases have been added by this writer.)

     

    Many of you, perhaps most of you, and maybe all of you will recognize these words as from the text of the Declaration of Independence, which preceded the Revolutionary War that liberated our Nation’s founders from the bonds of tyranny and the intolerable weight of despotism.  Then in 1787 some Plain, Honest Men [title of the book about the making of the Constitution written by Richard Beeman] concluded that the government created by the Articles of Confederation was fatally flawed and set out to replace it and to institute new government.  On September 15, 1787, these “plain, honest” men delivered our current form of government through the Constitution.  The flaws they saw to be fatal and in need of correction were; 1) the National Government’s inability to levy taxes to support the rightful duties of the national government (the National Government was too week), 2) it required unanimous approval of the state legislatures to amend the document (making it extremely difficult if not impossible to change and adjust when needed), and 3) there was no provision for an executive office (one person to represent the country).

     

    Some today say that the Constitution needs to be INTERPRETED in the light of present day conditions.  However, the founding fathers intended that the constitution be strictly construed.  They provided for changing when times seem to require it; it’s by the amendment process.  Our present day elected officials betray their oaths of office when they pretend that the Constitution can just be ignored when it’s inconvenient to follow its requirements.

     

    But now, in the face of years and to my mind egregious violations of the Constitution and actions by our Government that threaten our rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and general safety and well being, we may well have come to a point where we should no longer suffer these evils.  It seems like it is 1787 again.  There seem to me, given the circumstances of the present day, to be some fatal flaws in our current form of government that we should no longer suffer.  Granted that government form should not be changed on a whim and that is

  • We need to have a plan to base our recovery on. 
  • There are a lot of ideas that would help solve some of the problems that we are encountering these days.  I am an independent voter.  I do detest almost all politicians, as they are greedy leeches who want for themselves and not for their constituencies.  First, a piece of history.  Ronald Reagan began this period of deficit spending.  Next, RR de-regulated the banking system.  Next, RR gave humongous tax cuts to the rich.  RR allowed the system of K Street to flourish.  Remember the S&L meltdown, the emergence of LBOs, and the '87 Wall Street avalanche?  All due to RR's/Coolidge attitude.  We do need to force change on our government and we should start with the politicians first.  They have embraced their own entitlements, with large staffs, salaries, pensions and benefits, as much as any ordinary American has.  A flat tax would work great if all money exchanges are taxed with no exceptions.  A VAT would be OK if there were no exceptions.  A reasonable tax on capital gains would be a good start on the road to tax reform.  There are many ways to fix things.  The problem lies in the fact that the people who would lose the most money under reforms are the ones who have the politicians in their pocket.  Peace and God bless.

  • Deryl. N Davis - you are spot on. This very argument has been made time and again. I would only like to add our military service members in tat I believe no politician should ever be receiving government pensions, and healthcare, exceeding the benefits of retired military service personnel. We must fight to get this congressional reform act passed! Why should politicians be treated any different than ordinary citizen in service of their country - they should NOT, NOT EVER!

  • Kill the Federal Reserve. Stop the Black Boot tactics of EPA. Consider all growths of agencies over the past 20 years and demand that each one justify the increased expenditures or lose the gain in their costs from 20 years ago. Find all redundancy and eliminate it. Consolidate agencies whose responsibilities overlap. Lay off the excess or at least stop all new hiring other than 1/3rd of the technical/scientific people lost to attrition.

    UPHOLD THE LAWS on the books starting with Illegal immigration.  Get the US Government out of the marriage business. Continue to block polygamy and children being wed and bestiality on a national level, but all else is none of the government's business.

    See what Sharon R. Conroy wrote below!!  TRUE. Start by curtailing the Interstate Commerce Commission which has run amuck and is way outside the intent for which it was formed. 

    Now, with those resolved, determine what the total budget is. Determine each agency's percentage of that budget.  Now, determine what the income is for the US Gov.  Take 95% of the Revenue and give unto each agency the percentage they have been allotted but only of the Revenue and stop all borrowing.

    This leaves a 5% surplus each year that MUST be paid against our debt. In subsequent years, as revenues increase, always allow the budget to only use 95% of the available Revenue and apply the remaining 5% to the debt. How ya like them apples?!?  I do not pretend to suggest that this is a solution but like 500 Lawyers chained to the bottom of the ocean, it's a good start.  Peace, Bob
