Greece Faces Hard Economic Times of Its Own Making 
Ah, the innocence of short-term groupthink. Sixty-one percent of Greeks voted Sunday to resist the economic demands of international creditors. In doing so, the Greeks are strumming their Bouzoukis right into a steaming pile of economic mess. How could they not? International creditors are telling the country to cut its spending, telling the country how to spend its money. And the birthplace of democracy has figured out it can vote itself into regulatory tyranny and a death by entitlement spending. A vote against accepting the repayment plan is a vote for Greece's bull-headed independence, whatever the consequences. Well, the consequences are dire for the country with the economic clout of Connecticut, as there's a good chance it will be booted from the Eurozone. Greece's pile of rubble for an economy will disintegrate even further because it may try to resurrect its own currency, the drachma. Cue the inflation, cold creditors and hard times. While Greece's plight sounds like the international version of a shopper with five-too-many credit cards, America should not be quick to laugh. Our entitlement spending is increasing our $18 trillion federal debt. Meanwhile, the Greek government plans on going back to the rest of Europe to ask for another bailout, a move that sounds like it will go over like a lead balloon. -The Patriot Post

10 Holiday Murders in Chicago, Not One by Confederate Flag
Chicago had yet another bloody weekend, as some 64 were shot and 10 killed. Amazingly, this Independence Day weekend was a bit better than last year's tragic numbers, and not terribly different from any weekend on the shores of Lake Michigan. Leftists continue to cry for something to be done — "Where are the gun laws?" demands Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel. But the Windy City sports some of the nation's toughest gun control laws. Leftists often blame out-of-state guns, but, clearly, this isn't a "gun problem." It's also worth noting that none of the gangbangers doing the shooting were flying Confederate flags, which, we gather from leftist drivel, are responsible for the Charleston murders last month. From the South Carolina state capitol to Amazon and TV Land, the Confederate flag is being purged from society, as if the Left's politically correct exorcism can heal all racial wounds. Yet there's nary a peep about the plague of inner city black-on-black violence created by deliberately institutionalized urban poverty plantations, which have become mass breeding grounds for such violence. -The Patriot Post

CNN Bites the Bullet, Reports Two Former Employees Saved by Gun
How hard must it have been for CNN to report this story: "A former CNN reporter was wounded three times Tuesday night during a deadly shootout with a man who allegedly tried to rob him and his wife in a New Mexico motel room. Chuck de Caro and his wife, former Headline News anchor and CNN correspondent Lynne Russell, were on a road trip and spending the night at an Albuquerque motel when de Caro killed the man during what Russell called an attempted robbery." No charges will be filed against Caro, who clearly acted in self-defense. "I am really proud of him," Russell said. "I thank him over and over for saving my life. He really is my hero." Of course, if the network itself had its way with guns, as typified by former anchor and anti-gun zealot Piers Morgan, this pair wouldn't have been able to defend themselves, and CNN would be reporting about the deaths of two former CNN employees. -The Patriot Post

Oregon Bakers Fined, Silenced for Hurting Lesbians' Feelings Not only do Christians who oppose same-sex marriage no longer have their religious liberty, they no longer have the right to free speech. At least that's what an Oregon judge decided in the case of the bakers who refused to bake the cake for a same-sex wedding. Expect the beatings to continue until morale improves because this is what happens when "love wins."
In February 2013, Aaron and Melissa Klein, who owned the now-closed Sweet Cakes by Melissa, declined to bake a wedding cake for Rachel and Laurel Bowman-Cryer. At the time, same-sex marriage wasn't even yet legal in Oregon, but no matter — the offended couple filed a complaint.
In January 2014, the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries, which enforces discrimination law, decided the Kleins illegally discriminated.
Last Thursday, Oregon Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian issued his final decision on the punishment — just in time for Independence Day, and only days after the Supreme Court endorsed "gay marriage." The Kleins must pay a fine of $135,000 in "emotional damages" to the couple they denied service. The alleged suffering included — no kidding — “acute loss of confidence,” “doubt,” “excessive sleep,” “loss of sleep,” “felt mentally raped, dirty and shameful,” “high blood pressure,” “impaired digestion,” “loss of appetite,” “migraine headaches,” “pale and sick at home after work,” “resumption of smoking habit,” “shock,” “stunned,” “surprise,” “uncertainty,” “weight gain” and “worry.”

Ted Cruz is right, George Will is Wrong

McCarthy) ~ Within the space of just 48 hours, the United States Supreme Court ruled that the president is above the law; that straightforward statutory words may be twisted to mean the opposite of what they say; that discrimination... heretofore, the textbook example of a willful act — can be committed unconsciously, thereby supplanting our constitutional foundation of equal opportunity for all with the totalitarian’s dream of guaranteed outcomes for favored factions; and that five politically unaccountable lawyers, by dint of being issued robes, may impose their vision of the good society on 320 million Americans, reimagining our most basic institutions, our founding law, centuries of jurisprudence, and millennia of civilization. Like millions of Americans, Senator Ted Cruz (R., Texas) thought this was a disastrous couple of days for the country. So did the rest of the Trumped-up cavalcade of GOP presidential hopefuls — or, at least, they said they did. Cruz, however, undertook to do something about it. It also has released nearly 3,000 pages of emails implicating members of the nObama administration in their own lies. As Vice President loose lips Joe Biden appears to be preparing to jump in the race for the Democratic nomination later this summer, questions are also emerging as to whether or not the nObama administration is throwing Hillary under the bus through these emails. Each new batch of these emails expose additional lies made by the nObama administration and Mrs. Clinton, despite MSNBC, Newsweek, and other news organizations maintaining that there is little to be found. A Litmus Test for the Next President

France Deports 40 Islamic Jihad Imams

Palestinian Cleric Anti-Semitic Sermon, Incites Violence Against Jews 
(investigativeproject.org) ~ Another Palestinian cleric conducted a blatantly anti-Semitic sermon and incited violence against Jews, the Middle East Monitoring Research Service (MEMRI) reports... Preaching from al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Khaled Al-Maghrabi cited an infamous verse, or hadith, in the Qu'ran which encourages killing Jews. Al-Maghrabi is part of the Palestinian Authority's Waqf, or religious authority, and receives government pay. Last month, the Simon Wiesenthal Center called on PA President Mahmoud Abbas to denounce separate remarks by al-Maghrabi and terminate his pay. In a lecture posted online, al-Maghrabi repeated the "blood libel" that Jews use the blood of children to make matzoh.

WH-Linked Dark Money Group Threatens Dems on Eve of Nuke Deal

Then he and President nObama accused white teachers and principals in public schools for creating a “pathway to prison” by suspending a higher percentage of black teenagers than whites. Again, both ignored overwhelming evidence that black students misbehave much more than white students. It’s racial discrimination, they insisted, ordering schools to reduce black suspensions.

The St. Paul, Minnesota school district spent over $3 million to educate white teachers and principals about their “privilege.” EAGnews (Education Action Group) had to file Freedom of Information requests to learn the amount the district spent over a five year period. The money went to an organization called Pacific Educational Group founded in 1992 which offers conferences around the country at which caucasian teachers can flagellate themselves for their “White Privilege” and their sins of unconsciously propagating “Systemic Racism.”

According to a New York Post article by Paul Sperry: “Pacific Education Group does the racial-sensitivity training of teachers as part of professional teacher training workshops, reprogramming them to think that THEY are the problem, not the misbehaving kids, that their ‘whiteness’ and ‘cultural insensitivity’ is the reason African-American students tend to be, on average, more disruptive and violent than other students and tend to underperform academically.”

(tommclaughlin.blogspot.com) ~ Been thinking lately about teachers and cops. Both are besieged by left-wing, multiculturalists and results are disastrous for schools, cities, and everywhere else. The left needs a public perception of pervasive white racism and it’s stoking the fires whenever it can. Reality has little to do with the campaign, and our mainstream media is assisting whenever they can. Former Attorney General Eric Holder saw this effort as his primary responsibility. On another level, cops face a similar quandary. President nObama, Attorney General Eric Holder, and countless mainstream media outlets fabricate the narrative that “racist,” white cops are to blame for the crimes of young black men. When they’re told to stand down in the face of looting and arson in Baltimore, to use only one example, chaos reigns. “No,” insisted Baltimore’s black police chief Anthony Batts, according the New York Daily News. Cops were not told to stand down. Rather, they were instructed: “Do not engage,” as if there were any difference.

Teachers are demoralized when told they are the reason for disruptive behavior by black students. They back off and chaos takes over. Cops are demoralized when they are blamed for the crimes of young black men. They back off and crime skyrockets. Chaos reigns in cities across the country..

Even in rural Maine where I live, cops are demoralized. They go into law enforcement thinking of themselves as the good guys who are there to protect people from bad guys. They take their “To Serve and Protect” motto seriously. The nObama Administration and mainstream media assault on the character and integrity of all police has enormous effect on morale. That 95% of “racist” incidents are fabricated or exaggerated is the worst part. It’s all so unnecessary..

How will it all end? Not well, I’m afraid. We still have another year and a half before it can even begin to get better..
