The Gang That Couldn’t Impeach Straight
by J.E. Dyer
{ lidblog.com } ~ The media and House Democrats are trying to railroad the American people with misleading headlines into buying off on an impeachment... that would shame a kangaroo court. I think most people understand that, without having to go through the bill of particulars line by line. But just for fun, let’s briefly consider each point we’re being encouraged to ignore or believe wrongly about. First – and this is the one that should be decisive and fatal in its own right – the House Democrats are holding secret hearings in which the people never see what questions are being asked, who’s asking them, or what we can independently verify the witnesses have said. That alone should kill the “impeachment” effort. A president cannot, must not, be impeached based on testimony given behind closed doors. Nothing justifies it. This isn’t about what is due the president. It’s about what is due the people. Second, the Democrats are nevertheless “leaking” selective information to the media from each hearing, while keeping almost the entire House of Representatives out of the closed-door sessions and muzzling committee Republicans. The Republicans, unlike the Democrats, are not disclosing details from the testimony, because doing so violates the House rules for closed-door testimony. The Democrats are breaking the rules every day. This inherently demonstrates bad faith on the part of the Democrats’ leaders. We have no reason to believe anything the Democrats give the media to publish. Therefore, any ridicule from anyone about the propensity to believe or not believe allegations about Trump is moot. That cannot be overemphasized. The “you’re a stupid Trumpista” card is played out. In fact, it is somewhere between vile, disgusting, and pathetic to keep trying to play it. It only makes the card player a fool. Hold hearings in the open, by the rules, or shut up...

Building a Movement to Stop
‘Democratic Socialism’
Kay Coles James
{ dailysignal.com } ~ The rising tide of socialism in America is reaching a critical point as more Americans warm up to the idea of bigger, more intrusive government... A Gallup poll earlier this year found that 43% of Americans say socialism would be a good thing for the country. Other polls show similar findings. The percentages are even higher for women, minorities, and young people. If we hope to recognize this country 10 years from now, if we want to pass on to our children and grandchildren a nation that’s at least as free and prosperous as the one we inherited, we need to focus our efforts on turning everyday Americans away from the false promises of bigger government. And we need greater education and outreach to do it. Certainly, one reason for this worrying trend is because average people see problems in this country they want solved, and a flurry of politicians, lobbying groups, and others excitedly offer them more big government in response, with many of their solutions verging on outright socialism. Just look at “Medicare for All,” free college tuition, and the Green New Deal as examples. What many average Americans fail to see is that conservatives see the same problems they do and want to solve them, too, but just by different means. But how do we convince them that we have better answers? Fortunately, we have several factors on our side. First, we have the truth. Socialism has failed in every country, every time it’s been tried. Additionally, here in the United States and in countries that have softer “democratic socialism,” decades of data show that big-government policies continue to fail over and over again. More often than not, they end up hurting the very people they were supposed to help. Welfare in the United States is just one example. Second, some of the polls showing Americans warming up to socialism also show that, when pressed, respondents didn’t understand what socialism actually involved. While initially they loved the idea of free college tuition, free health care, and the Green New Deal, when they were told even a few details—like what it would cost them in new taxes, how their choices would go away, how bureaucrats in far-off places would be making decisions for them—they quickly turned against the proposals...

Our Core Cultural Conflicts
by Star Parker
{ dailysignal.com } ~ Two recent high-profile speeches by Trump administration officials say much—maybe even all we need to know—about the core cultural conflicts in the country and what will define the upcoming election... One speech, titled “Being a Christian Leader,” was delivered by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to the American Association of Christian Counselors in Nashville, Tennessee. Attorney General William Barr delivered the other speech to the law school and the de Nicola Center for Ethics and Culture at the University of Notre Dame. Pompeo discussed how, as a young man at West Point, he refocused his Christian faith to the center of his life. He went on to relate how this influences today how he understands America’s role in the world and how he does his job as secretary of state. Barr discussed the aggressive and destructive secularism now sweeping the country. He touched on the key point, made first by then-President George Washington in his 1796 farewell address to the nation, that a free nation must be a self-governing nation and that this only is possible through moral virtue. Limited government requires a population that rules itself. This requires, as Barr explained, “shared moral values” that “rest on authority independent of men’s will—they must flow from a transcendent Supreme Being.” There is no way two high-profile officials from the Trump administration would give public presentations like these without support from the president, particularly in today’s highly charged political environment. Pompeo and Barr communicated a worldview starkly in contrast to what we’re hearing from the Democratic presidential hopefuls, most recently at the debate in Westerville, Ohio. The line is drawn clearly in the sand. President Donald Trump is running on the premise that America is a free nation Under God. Democrats see our future in secular humanism...

Grassley Suspects ‘Deep State’
Responsible for Delay in FISA Abuse Report
by Chuck Ross
{ dailysignal.com } ~ Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, expressed frustration Monday at a months long delay in the release of the Justice Department inspector general’s report on possible FBI surveillance abuse against the Trump campaign... questioning whether the “deep state” has somehow slowed the release of the document. “All of the delays and excuses why the Horowitz IG FISA report isn’t public yet after several months of anticipation of its issues leads me to the suspicion it’s going to be ‘deep six’ [sic] by the deep state,” Grassley wrote on Twitter.Michael Horowitz, the inspector general, began in March 2018 investigating whether the FBI complied with legal requirements in applications for Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrants against Trump campaign aide Carter Page. The bureau relied heavily on the unverified Steele dossier in applications for the warrants, as well as for the main investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian government. Christopher Steele, a former MI6 officer, dug up dirt on the Trump campaign on behalf of the Democratic National Committee and scumbag/liar-Clinton campaign. In the dossier, he alleged that Trump aides, including Page, worked with Kremlin operatives to influence the 2016 election. Steele also claimed that there was a “well-developed conspiracy of coordination” between the Trump team and Russians. But the special counsel’s report undercut much of the dossier. It said there was insufficient evidence to establish a Trump-Russia conspiracy. The Office of Inspector General report was initially expected to be released in June, but has been steadily delayed amid new developments, including an interview that same month with Steele. Horowitz told several congressional committees on June 25 that the investigation was nearing completion. He submitted the report to the Justice Department and FBI for a declassification review on Sept. 13...

McConnell Introduces Resolution
Opposing Trump on Syria Withdrawal
by Luis Miguel
{ thenewamerican.com } ~ Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and other leading Senate Republicans introduced a resolution on Tuesday opposing President Trump’s withdrawal of U.S. troops from Syria... The senators contend that the president’s decision has benefitted ISIS, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Russia, and Iran. “If not arrested, withdrawing from Syria will invite more of the chaos that breeds terrorism and creates a vacuum our adversaries will certainly fill,” McConnell said. The measure introduced by McConnell would require the president to report to Congress that both ISIS and al Qaeda have been defeated “before initiating any further significant withdrawal” of troops from the region. According to McConnell, Russia will “gain more leverage” in the Middle East, Iran could get greater access to a “strategic corridor that runs all the way from Tehran to the very doorstep of Israel,” and the Assad regime will be enabled to “reassert its oppressive control” — all unless the president reverses his decision. McConnell simultaneously urged President Trump to rescind his White House invitation to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan until a “more enduring cease-fire” between Turkish and Kurdish forces has been achieved. Senator Richard Burr (R-N.C.), chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said Congress “didn’t have an opportunity” to provide input before the president went ahead with the withdrawal. “Congress has a voice and now is the time ... to exercise it,” Burr stated...

Joe Scarborough’s Latest Lie,
Claims GOP Secretly Wants Trump Out
by Jeff Dunetz
{ lidblog.com } ~ Gee, remember when he was a conservative Republican? Joe Scarborough has really changed since he started sleeping with his very liberal married co-host, who he eventually married... Back then, I would watch his show every morning. That was before Morning Joe became totally unwatchable and Scarborough joined the rest of his network in feeding viewers lies and ad hominin attacks against President Trump and everything Republican. According to Joe Scarborough’s latest lie, President Trump would be impeached and Vice President Mike Pence would be elevated to the Oval Office within hours if the Senate were able to conduct their vote in secret. Scarborough went on to argue that GOP senators prefer to “talk about policy” and not the president’s attempts to “loot the federal treasury to make hundreds of thousands of dollars” at his resorts. Joe, Doral was going to host the G7 for free as for the other resorts I would love to hear about it…where’s your proof? Mike Barnicle added that he didn’t think any member of the Senate “would want their children or grandchildren to espouse the values that Donald Trump maintains each and every day of his life.” Joe agreed–now that’s rich. What does Joe Scarborough know about values? He should worry about the values he espouses to his children and Mika’s children and all their future grandchildren. Joe and Mika were both married with children when you guys decided to throw out your marriage vows and started sleeping with each other. What kind of values are those?...

CNN: A Case Study in HypocrisyThomas Gallatin: Project Veritas recently exposed the fact that the gross anti-Trump bias espoused by CNN on a 24/7 basis stems from directives issued by CEO Jeff Zucker. However, CNN’s bias problem doesn’t merely stem from the management. On Monday, CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin apologized for his part in covering scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton’s email scandal. Following the news Friday that the Justice Department had concluded its investigation into scumbag/liar-Clinton’s mishandling of classified emails while she was secretary of state, determining that there was no “deliberate” mishandling of classified information, Toobin blamed the mainstream media and himself for making a story out of “a big nothing.” Toobin opined, “I think I paid too much attention to them, and I regret that.”
Furthermore, Toobin lamented, “scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton likely lost the election because of it, and I think I should have been talking about other issues, not about emails.” It appears Toobin has an outsized view of his own political influence, but more significant is Toobin’s ridiculous assertion that scumbag/liar-Clinton’s email scandal was “a big nothing.” While the State Department couldn’t seem to find a deliberate intention to mishandle classified information (give us a break), that didn’t mean the investigation found no wrongdoing. In fact, the investigation found more than 600 security violations by 38 State Department employees during scumbag/liar-Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state. Moreover, the entire point of her email secrecy was to hide the way she used the State Department as a pay-to-play arm of the scumbag/liar-Clinton Foundation.
This was a massive story as the evidence of violations demonstrates, and Toobin’s notion that the story should have been ignored by the news media only highlights the fact that he’s committed not to practicing good journalism but to political activism. The Washington Examiner’s Becket Adams observes, “A real journalist would not apologize for covering a legitimate news story, including one that involves an FBI investigation and a secretary of state-turned-presidential candidate who had been ‘extremely careless’ with classified intelligence.”
So, does Toobin offer a similar apology for CNN’s fake news on the Trump/Russia collusion hoax? Nope. In fact, Toobin claims, “Comparing Donald Trump’s record of ethical problems with scumbag/liar-Hillary’s emails lent a misleading impression. And I have to say, I am determined not to do that again to the extent that I can. I am going to try to look at corruption and ethics issues each on their own rather than trying to create some sort of equivalence that isn’t there.” Toobin’s statements serve to cement the fact that CNN has become the de facto propaganda wing of the Democrat Party. ~The Patriot Post
