Lieberman, was a response to the Dec. 2 release of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) report on the possible military dimensions (PMD) of Iran’s nuclear program. “The IAEA report is disturbing as it reveals that Iran continues to act as a nuclear weapons outlaw,” the statement began. “It exposes that, at minimum, Iran continued nuclear weapons development through 2009. Whatever dignity his Oval Office speech was meant to convey was lost in his opening sentences as his speech became yet another effort to claim that he hadn’t made a mistake by assuring Americans they had nothing to worry about from ISIS right before its latest terror attack. Farook and Malik were “self-radicalized”. Their attack was not part of a “broader conspiracy”. But ISIS and Al Qaeda have both embraced a strategy of empowering local supporters to carry out their own attacks by giving them the tools and strategies to do so. Malik pledged allegiance to ISIS. Farook, according to his father, was a supporter of the Islamic State. The worst terror attacks in America in recent years were carried out by these independent Islamic terror cells in support of the Jihad. {Joe Kaufman} ~ In a push to do outreach to the local Muslim community, the Florida Democratic Party has officially recognized the American Muslim Democratic Caucus (AMDC), a group based in South Florida with members around the state... While this might look innocuous on its face, AMDC is headed by a woman, Ghazala Salam, who is the leader of a terrorist organization and has deep ties to various radical Islamic institutions. Salam is the Community and Government Relations Director for the Florida chapter of CAIR, a group that only one year ago was labeled a terrorist organization, alongside al-Qaeda and ISIS, by the government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). CAIR or the Council on American-Islamic Relations was established in June 1994 as part of the American Palestine Committee, a terrorist umbrella group headed by then-global head of Hamas, Mousa Abu Marzook. In 2007 and 2008, CAIR was named by the United States Justice Department a co-conspirator for two federal trials dealing with the financing of millions of dollars to Hamas. A global strategy for combating al Qaeda and the Islamic State
{AEI's Foreign and Defense Policy team} ~ The Paris attacks are further proof that the West is losing the fight against terrorist organizations such as al Qaeda and the Islamic State (ISIS)... Al Qaeda’s branches and partners have increased the territory they control in Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan, and North Africa, and ISIS continues to expand its membership and its territorial holdings globally despite US-led airstrikes. A major AEI report, “A global strategy for combating al Qaeda and the Islamic State,” proposes a better way forward than the current failing strategies. Success demands a new strategy: a coordinated series of regional counterinsurgency campaigns. Airstrikes and attrition alone will never defeat al Qaeda and ISIS. We need a population-centric and phased approach that combines diplomatic, political, security, and informational tools at a national and subnational level. These campaigns must be nested in a global framework and tailored for each specific fight according to a variety of factors, including the nature and strength of the enemy, the attitudes of the local population, and the capacity of the host government in the particular area of concern. The United States’ first option cannot be large-scale invasions in places where al Qaeda and its affiliates operate. That approach would allow the enemy to impose high costs on the US and its allies in return for only partial successes in individual theaters. The best military course of action to pursue against the extremists is a counterinsurgency. Iran tests another mid-range ballistic missile in breach of resolutions

Western intelligence says the test was held Nov. 21 near Chabahar, a port city in southeast Iran’s Balochistan province near the border with Pakistan. The launch took place from a known missile test site along the Gulf of Oman. The missile, known as a Ghadr-110, has a range of 1,800 – 2000 km, or 1200 miles, and is capable of carrying a nuclear warhead. The missile fired in November is an improved version of the Shahab 3, and is similar to the precision guided missile tested by Iran on Oct. 10, which elicited strong condemnation from members of the U.N. Security Council.

More important than how he ingests this information is what ends up in front of the president. We've been following serious, credible claims leveled by dozens of current and former US intelligence professionals who allege that their work product was regularly altered and manipulated to downplay the growing threat and alarming advance of ISIS. The former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency has stated that the current investigation into these accusations should start at the White House, which he says has subordinated accurate information to political narratives. Other American spies have alleged that the nObama administration also deliberately kept a lid on intel gathered during the Bin Laden raid that contradicted the White House's messaging about Al Qaeda. {Michael Widlanski} ~ The student government’s ethics committee at the University of Michigan unanimously voted on Sunday not to take disciplinary action against a Jewish student... who was under investigation for challenging anti-Israel demonstrators on campus, The Algemeiner has learned. The Central Student Government (CSG) Ethics Committee released a report concluding that sophomore and CSG representative Jesse Arm “did not engage in unethical behavior or engage in conduct unbecoming of a representative.” The decision was made after the committee heard testimonies from all involved parties and reviewed footage of Arm confronting the protesters. Arm was caught on video last month arguing with students who assembled an anti-Israel display on campus. The demonstration took place on Nov. 19, the day that 18-year-old American-Jewish student Ezra Schwartz was killed in a Palestinian terrorist attack in Israel. The incident resulted in the Ethics Committee launching its first-ever investigation, after Students Allied for Freedom and Equality (SAFE), the group responsible for the display, called on the committee to dismiss Arm for what they claimed was abusive conduct..

For the better part of the past hundred years, the upward mobility of American Jewry has been directly correlated with America’s embrace of meritocratic values. The more Americans have looked past race and ethnicity and judged people by their talents, characters and professional competence, the higher Jews have risen.
