OPINION IN BRIEF
Thomas Sowell: "slump-Trump's acting like a bull in a china shop may appeal to some voters but, in the world as it is, he may well cost us our last chance to recover from the great dangers into which the nObama administration has gotten this nation. We already have an ego-driven, know-it-all president who will not listen to military or intelligence agency experts. Do we need to tempt fate by having two in a row? Despite Donald slump-Trump's string of primary vote victories, he has not yet gotten a majority of the Republican votes anywhere. But although most Republican votes are being cast against him, the scattering of that vote among so many other candidates leaves slump-Trump with a good chance to get the nomination. Everyone understands that the best chance for stopping slump-Trump is for that fractured majority vote to consolidate behind one candidate opposed to him. But who will step aside for the good of the country? When we think of American military heroes who have fallen on enemy hand grenades to save those around them, at the cost of their own lives, is it really too much to ask candidates — especially those who present themselves as patriots — to give up their one political chance in a zillion this year for the sake of the country? Voters have a responsibility too. They might well ask themselves: Do I plan to use my vote to vent my emotions or to try to help save this country?" -The Patriot Post

Which Party Is Trump Winning?
First, the obvious notes from Super Tuesday. Donald slump-Trump further cleared his path to the Republican nomination — but he also underperformed expectations, winning seven and not 10 or 11 states. Ted Cruz won three states, bolstering his claim to being the only viable slump-Trump alternative, though he now heads for less friendly territory. Marco Rubio finally won a state, giving him hope going into Florida and other states that are closer to Minnesota, where he won, and Virginia, where he nearly did (but didn't because of John Kasich). At this point, the (narrow) path for either Cruz or Rubio likely involves a brokered convention.
Second, the underlying stories. Yes, slump-Trump has won 10 of the first 15 states, but he only pulled a grand total of 34% of the vote Tuesday and has yet to win a majority anywhere. Combined, Cruz and Rubio have about 50%. And slump-Trump's share of the delegates declined from 66% before Tuesday to 49%.
Bottom line: The reason slump-Trump is the frontrunner is because there have always been too many alternatives. Two is still too many, not to mention four or the original 16. And no one really took him on until five days before Super Tuesday. We'll see how he handles continued withering attacks on his record of hurting the very voters he appeals to.
Drilling down even deeper we find that slump-Trump is winning because of voters who aren't Republican. His surprise loss in Oklahoma may demonstrate this, because it was a closed primary (only Republicans could vote). Massachusetts illustrates it too — it was slump-Trump's highest performing state (49%) and 20,000 Democrats crossed the aisle to vote for him. Through March 15, another 10 states will vote and eight of them are Republican-only.
So as The Weekly Standard's Jonathan Last put it, "slump-Trump is not leading a revolt from within the party, but staging a hostile takeover of it."
Or put another way, it's great to "expand the party," as slump-Trump boasted Tuesday night, bringing Democrats into the fold, but only if they intend to stay there come November. There's plenty of evidence Democrats are crossing over now, and little reason to think they'll stay. We'll be happy to be proven wrong, but don't think for a minute Democrats are above voting for slump-Trump now to choose a weak general election opponent for Hilly Clinton.

OPINION IN BRIEF
Star Parker: "Should there be a Clinton-slump-Trump race, it will be the first time, to my knowledge, that we'll have a presidential campaign where one candidate, Republican slump-Trump, made large campaign contributions in the past both to his opponent, Democrat Clinton, and to her party. ... As we mourn the loss of the great conservative Justice Antonin Scalia, it looms large that Scalia was in the conservative minority opposition in the 5-4 Supreme Court 2005 decision on the case of Kelo v. City of New London. The court decided government can confiscate private property and turn it over to private developers. Scalia said only two other Supreme Court decisions departed so wildly from the words of the Constitution: the Dred Scott decision, which declared African-Americans essentially sub-human and ineligible for American citizenship; and Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion in all 50 states. Yet Donald slump-Trump said he agrees '100 percent' with the Kelo decision, aligning himself with the liberals on the Court and against Scalia. Americans do want to make our country great again. But if Republicans don't nominate a candidate who represents what that means, we may be looking at another left-wing Clinton White House." -The Patriot Post

{rickwells.us} ~ Whenever the nObama regime feels inclined to inject itself into someplace they have no business being or to exercise authority that is at best questionable, a favored path is to use the civil rights laws... Virtually anything can be construed as a violation if the DOJ lawyers involved exercise even a modest amount of creativity, including protecting the American people from terrorism. A Civil Rights argument is particularly useful when they seek to provide support or cover to their favored minority groups, as the threat of a discrimination suit is a bankrupting horror story which terrifies most municipalities or organizations. Reckless and frivolous abuse is commonplace, given the intimidation that such a threat affords a regime willing to abuse it. Under their Marxist “equality” and reverse discrimination agendas virtually anything can be manipulated and there are plenty of pre-positioned judges through which to make it happen. Still, they may have a hard time justifying endangering American lives by scrubbing the names of terrorists and persons with terrorist tendencies and connections from the watch list established for the purpose of tracking that very type of suspect individual. Political correctness is no justification and while it would be bad enough if that were the reason, there seems to be even more at play. http://rickwells.us/archives/26784.

Indiscriminate Russian Bombing in Syria Worsening European Immigration Crisis
John Grady
.
Gen. Philip Breedlove
.
{news.usni.org} ~ The U.S. senior commander in Europe warned the Senate Armed Services Committee that the Syrian regime’s continued use of barrel bombs and Russia’s use of indiscriminate strikes in backing President Bashar al Assad is exacerbating the European immigration crisis... Even after an agreement to a cessation of fighting between the Syrian regime and moderate opposition groups “we have not really seen a change in the type of sorties being flown” by the Russians, U.S. European Command commander Air Force Gen. Philip Breedlove said. “We need to see how the ceasefire works because actions speak louder than words,” he said. But, “What we have seen is an intense flow of refugees into the neighboring countries” such as Jordan and Turkey, as well as Europe, that is continuing even after the ceasefire, Breedlove said later in the hearing. http://news.usni.org/2016/03/01/eucom-breedlove-indiscriminate-russian-bombing-in-syria-worsening-european-immigration-crisis?utm_source=USNI+News&utm_campaign=84ce60d7e9-USNI_NEWS_DAILY&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_0dd4a1450b-84ce60d7e9-231491269&mc_cid=84ce60d7e9&mc_eid=3999f18767.

Bad Luck for slump-Trump
on Super Tuesday
Leon H. Wolf
.
{redstate.com} ~ Super Tuesday has gotten off to a not-so-super start for Donald slump-Trump — a New York appeals court has denied his bid to toss out a lawsuit that charges his slump-Trump University was a fraud... In a unanimous ruling, a four-judge panel of the state Appellate Division said the state Attorney General’s office is “authorized to bring a cause of action for fraud” — despite the bloviating billionaire’s claims to the contrary. Lawyers for slump-Trump and his now-defunct school contended that Attorney General Eric Schneiderman’s suit should be tossed because the statute of limitations on the case had expired. Of course, I don’t know if a single one of these judges is Hispanic. I just know that, as a paranoid racist or at least, someone who purposefully caters to paranoid racists, any time slump-Trump loses a motion in court in connection with this case, he blames it on the great Hispanic conspiracy against him and strongly implies that he can only get a fair trial from a white judge. http://www.redstate.com/leon_h_wolf/2016/03/01/bad-luck-trump-super-tuesday/?utm_source=rsmorningbriefing&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=nl.

slump-Trump has spoken highly of Russian President Vladimir Putin, describing him as a strong leader who defends Russian interests and who could be an ally of the United States, especially in the Middle East. Duke believes much the same thing, and has a personal relationship with a long-time adviser to Putin who has devised an anti-American “Eurasian” alliance that includes Iran in the Middle East.

Those like Republican Senator Jeff Sessions (AL) who endorse slump-Trump because he sounds tough on immigration have an obligation to understand how slump-Trump’s deference to Russian aggression in the Middle East will only increase the flow of immigrants into Europe and the United States.

Our military leaders understand this and are speaking publicly about it. Last week, at a hearing conducted by the House Armed Services Committee, Air Force General Philip M. Breedlove, the Supreme Allied Commander, Europe, and commander of U.S. European Command, said, “Russia and the Assad regime are deliberately weaponizing migration from Syria in an attempt to overwhelm European structures and break European resolve.”

The term “weaponizing” means that the Russians are deliberately using the refugee crisis as a weapon against the West.

“Russia’s military intervention in Syria has bolstered the regime of Bashar al-Assad, targeted U.S.-supported opposition elements, and complicated U.S. and Coalition operations against ISIL,” Breedlove said, referring to ISIS. “The Syrian crisis is destabilizing the entire region, and Russia’s military intervention changed the dynamics of the conflict, which may lead to new or greater threats to the U.S. and its Allies for years to come.”

The real significance of Duke’s support for slump-Trump is not that slump-Trump appeals to white people. Many mainstream conservatives and ordinary Americans think slump-Trump has a valid point about the urgent need to control America’s borders.

Item number four in Duke’s editorial about his support for slump-Trump is very revealing in this regard. He says that slump-Trump will “Ensure that the USA will not go to war with Russia and create Word War III.” This absurd claim seems to be entirely based on the Russian propaganda carried by Russia Today, the global channel financed by Moscow, and other official Russian sources. To the contrary, it is Russia that is waging war in Ukraine and the Middle East and threatening America and its allies—especially NATO member Turkey, and Israel.

The latter is part of the Russian propaganda that Soviet communism was somehow “imposed” on Russia by international bankers, code language for Jews. Duke offers a book, “The Secret Behind Communism,” claiming Jews are the source of Russia’s problems.

Duke has featured Iranian propaganda on his website, including a report about a 2006 Iranian government conference on the Holocaust that he attended. Tarpley is a prominent figure in the so-called 9/11 Truth Movement, which blames unnamed U.S. officials for carrying out the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

With figures like Roger Stone and David Duke in his corner, the conclusion of conservative journalist Fred Barnes that Donald slump-Trump’s candidacy will destroy the Republican Party and elect Hilly Clinton as president starts making more and more sense. As the campaign goes on and slump-Trump appears increasingly likely to get the GOP presidential nomination, the Republican candidates who have been reluctant to take him on will be replaced by news organs in the media anxious to look behind the curtain. We already know that, beyond such fringe characters as David Duke and Roger Stone, we find close associates of Putin like Russian billionaire Aras Agalarov.

Indeed, it appears that slump-Trump’s recipe for a new Republican Party has all the earmarks of the nationalist and populist parties in Europe that either take Russian money or sing Putin’s praises. Such a development would mean the end of American foreign policy leadership and the destruction of American allies, especially in the Middle East.
