. OPINION IN BRIEF
George Will: "The idea that essentially zero interest rates are, after seven and a half years, stimulating the economy 'strains credulity,' says James Bullard, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. But last month he and other members of the Federal Reserve Board understandably felt constrained to vote unanimously to continue today’s rates for an economy that created just 38,000 new jobs in May, and grew just 0.8 percent in the first quarter, after just 1.4 percent in the previous quarter. The grim news is not that the economy continues to resist returning to normal. Rather, it is that this 'current equilibrium' (Bullard’s phrase) is the new normal. If 2 percent growth is, as he says, 'the most likely scenario' for the foreseeable future, the nation faces a second consecutive lost decade — one without a year of 3 percent growth. ... Bullard says ... it takes a while for technologies to 'diffuse through the economy.' And some of the diffusion — in leisure, in richer living experiences (social media; smartphones and their apps) are not captured in GDP statistics. Perhaps that helps to explain why nObama’s job approval has reached 52 percent at a moment when she who seeks to replace him concedes that the economy is so anemic that her husband will be assigned to 'revitalize' it." -The Patriot Post

Dallas Provides Presidential Contrast
There will be a memorial service today in Dallas for the five police officers slain in the line of duty last Thursday. George W. Bush will speak, which is appropriate given his status as not only former president but former governor of Texas. He also lives in Dallas. After the murders, Bush said, "Laura and I are heartbroken by the heinous acts of violence in our city." He commended the "dedication, professionalism, and courage of the Dallas Police Department," and offered prayers for the families of the dead and for the wounded. It was, as is characteristic of Bush, full of graciousness and respect.
Barack nObama will also speak today, and that is far less welcome. His remarks both before and after the Dallas murders were full of bitterness and division, blaming police for systemic racism. On Sunday, he condemned those who attack officers ... for doing a "disservice to the cause" of reforming criminal justice. And if it wasn't racist cops, the problem was access to "powerful weapons." Both grievances merely echoed politically charged themes nObama's been harping on for his entire presidency.
Naturally, his Leftmedia super PAC was already at work. The New York Times "reported" on nObama's speech preparation, fawning and lamenting on his behalf, "Mr. nObama approached the effort with the frustration of a man who has poured his heart and soul into similar speeches, only to later feel that nothing has changed and no one is listening." Perhaps that's because, for nObama, the concern is all about his political agenda, not for the officers or the real causes of such violence. As Fox News' Brit Hume so eloquently put it, "The president has consistently chosen to see things through the eyes of an aggrieved black activist rather than of a president of all the people." -The Patriot Post

'Grave concerns' may have been a grave mistake
by Chad Groening, Jody Brown
.
.
{onenewsnow.com} ~ Last week, James Comey strongly defended the government's decision not to prosecute the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee over her private email setup while secretary of state... During four hours of questioning by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Comey said there was no evidence liar-Clinton knew that anything she was doing was against the law – and no evidence that she had lied to federal investigators. While Comey testified the year-long investigation was conducted in "an apolitical and a professional way," a number of Republicans - and even some Democrats - have suggested a double standard exists for charging everyday people accused of crimes as opposed to politically powerful individuals like liar=Clinton. "If your name isn't liar-Clinton, or you're not part of the powerful elite, then Lady Justice will act differently," noted committee chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah)... http://www.onenewsnow.com/legal-courts/2016/07/12/grave-concerns-may-have-been-a-grave-mistake?utm_source=OneNewsNow&utm_medium=email&utm_term=16784410&utm_content=565493864984&utm_campaign=25558

dinky-Reid: Senate Dems will
block Zika funding again
by Susan Ferrechio
.
.
{washingtonexaminer.com} ~ Senate Minority Leader Harry dinky-Reid warned Monday that lawmakers in his party would not vote for a $1.1 billion funding measure to combat Zika, guaranteeing the measure will stall ahead of a seven-week congressional recess... "What the Republicans are asking for has very little support over here ...," dinky-Reid said. dinky-Reid's announcement came after Majority Leader Mitch McCon-nell, R-Ky., called on Democrats to abandon their opposition to the bill. The House and Senate will leave town at the end of the week and won't return until Sept. 5, which means there will be no further avenues to pass a funding bill to combat Zika for the rest of the summer...dinky-Reid the must corrupt senator of all time. http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/reid-senate-dems-will-block-zika-funding-again/article/2596174

City rips secret planting of Syrian 'refugees'
by Leo Hohmann
.
.
{wnd.com} ~ The secrecy of the federal refugee-resettlement program has once again been highlighted by a local official who has seen the dark side of the program play out in living color... In Lowell, Massachusetts, a 13-year-old girl was twice groped at a public pool last week by a 22-year-old man freshly imported into the community from Syria as a “refugee.” The city manager of Lowell told his local newspaper Tuesday that he was not even notified by the U.S. State Department or its resettlement contractor that Syrians were being delivered to his community. This marks the second high-profile sexual assault on an American girl in the past month by a refugee. On June 2, a 5-year-old girl in Twin Falls, Idaho, was reportedly raped by an Iraqi refugee boy while an older refugee from Sudan filmed and coached him during the assault...

Welfare reform to promote work and marriage
by Robert Doar, Kiki Bradley
.
.
{aei.org} ~ Robert Doar and Kiki Bradley ground their approach to alleviating poverty from the holistic success of TANF... They believe its results should spur conservative reforms to bolster self-sufficiency, strengthen civil society, promote marriage, and encourage noncustodial parents to assume greater responsibility. Doar and Bradley advocate work requirements for means-tested programs. Such a stipulation can enable poor Americans to enter the labor force and ultimately move out of poverty. Next, few existing anti-poverty programs are held accountable to any measurable performance standard. This should not be the case; instead, means-tested programs must include definitive performances measures and a process for review and revision when outcomes fall short... http://www.aei.org/publication/welfare-reform-to-promote-work-and-marriage/?utm_source=paramount&utm_medium=email&utm_content=AEITODAY&utm_campaign=071316

Iran’s Airbridge to Syria
by Paul Bucala, Ken Hawrey
.
.
{aei.org} ~ Boeing and Airbus are set to sell nearly 200 aircraft to Iran’s state airline, Iran Air, despite indicators that Tehran is already using the airline’s aircraft to support its efforts in Syria... Since June 2015, 31 airplanes belonging to Iran Air and the private airline Mahan Air have departed from airports in Iran and landed in Syria, according to public flight-tracking data from Flightrader24.com. Tehran appears to have developed an expansive network of repurposed commercial aircraft to supply its expanding war effort in Syria. This airlift to Syria is crucial for Iran’s operations in Syria and the rest of the Levant. Supply by sea is slow and vulnerable to interdiction by Western militaries. ISIS forces continue to control overland routes from Iraq into Assad-controlled Syria. Tehran would be unable to conduct this resupply effort without the use of commercial aircraft due to the Iranian Air Force’s limited airlift capabilities. In 2011 and 2012, the US Treasury Department applied pressure to this lifeline by sanctioning Iran Air, Mahan Air, and the cargo airline Yas Air for transporting military equipment to Syria on behalf of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC). However, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) committed the US to remove sanctions on Iran Air, notwithstanding that US Treasury designations implicated the airline in flying cargo to Syria in support of the IRGC and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad...Didn't Congress stop this sale? http://www.aei.org/publication/irans-airbridge-to-syria/?utm_source=paramount&utm_medium=email&utm_content=AEITODAY&utm_campaign=071316

Watch Loretta Lynch Repeatedly REFUSE
to Answer Why liar-Hillary Gets Special Treatment
by Caleb Howe
.
{redstate.com} ~ After exposing Attorny General Lynch's and the rest of the Dem establishment's rank hypocrisy on liar-Hillary, he asked her to be specific... He gave her a chance to explain exactly why she and the rest of Justice don't find what liar-Hillary did worthy of any charges. What specifically did she find that gave her that conclusion? She simply would not give an answer. It's alright though. We already know the answer. It's a double standard. liar-Hillary is allowed to get away with what others would not, because she's a liar-Clinton and because the whole of nObama's D.C. is more than willing to subvert justice in the name of partisan politics. In other words, business as usual. http://www.redstate.com/absentee/2016/07/12/watch-loretta-lynch-repeatedly-refuse-answer-hillary-gets-special-treatment/?utm_source=rsmorningbriefing&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=nl

28 pages on 9/11 that GOP still
doesn't want you to see
by Jerome R. Corsi
by Jerome R. Corsi
.
.
{wnd.com} ~ In an apparent move to preserve the reputation of former President George W. Bush regarding the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the decision to go to war against Iraq... the Republican platform committee on Tuesday voted down a plank introduced by Maine State Sen. Eric Brakey to call for the declassification of 28 pages that are believed to link the government of Saudi Arabia to the 9/11 hijackers. In drafting the platform plank, Brakey noted President nObama twice promised 9/11 family members he would release the pages, which could be invaluable in any lawsuit. However, the administration has refused to declassify the pages, even in the face of bipartisan support for their release that includes former 9/11 commission members and 73 current representatives and senators. “The public has a right to know,” Brakey said after the platform committee adjourned. “It saddens me that, here we are, 15 years later and it sounds like there’s key pieces of information to our understanding of what happened on that day, and the government has been keeping that information from us.”...

Fighting Anti-Israel Hate
.
> by BARRY SHAW
.
{familysecuritymatters.org} ~ There is room for stating Israel's historic and legal rights to a Jewish homeland in a reasonable manner, but this does not seem to be making much progress in projecting Israel as a normal country with the same system and values of regular democratic countries... Indeed, it is these democratic countries that outrageous demonstrations based on lies and intimidation are being allowed to be perpetrated with increasingly hostile actions against Israel. The reason we are not making headway is because we have considered it impolite to be as rude and forceful in our arguments as our detractors are. We don't want to appear as aggressive as the intimidators that trash us 24/7. And so we lose the fight for the broad middle ground by conceding without a fight or, even worse, by adopting parts of our enemy's narrative just to appear reasonable. IRS “Security” Program
Can’t Stop $3.1 Billion Scam
by JUDICIAL WATCH
by JUDICIAL WATCH
.
{familysecuritymatters.org} ~ While it's absorbed persecuting law-abiding conservative groups the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) can't seem to stop crooks from scamming it to the tune of several billion dollars in one year alone via bogus tax refunds... It's the latest of many transgressions at the agency that's doubled as an nObama administration tool to crack down on political adversaries. A special IRS security feature called Taxpayer Protection Program (TPP) couldn't prevent criminals from scamming the agency out of an eye-popping $3.1 billion in one year, according to a federal audit. TPP was implemented to curb an epidemic of identity theft that allows criminals to fraudulently get tax refunds. Supposedly, identity theft fraud is reduced through a verification process but the federal probe, conducted by the investigative arm of Congress, the Government Accountability Office (GAO), found serious loopholes. "TPP uses single-factor authentication procedures that incorporate one of the following authentication elements: ‘something you know,' ‘something you have,' or ‘something you are,'" the GAO report states. "TPP's single-factor authentication procedures are at risk of exploitation because some fraudsters obtain the PII (personally identifiable information) necessary to pass the questions asked during authentication."...What do you mean they can't stop it? http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/detail/irs-security-program-cant-stop-31-billion-scam?f=must_reads

From Lenin to nObama
.
by ALEXANDER G. MARKOVSKY
.
{familysecuritymatters.org} ~ This is an updated version of the article posted on this site in December 2014. Much has happened since and the spate of violence has begun just as I predicted... How did I know this? I have been inside this monster and I know him well. In the world of Marxist dialectical materialism, change is the product of a constant conflict between opposites, arising from the internal contradictions inherent in all events, ideas, and movements. Therefore, any significant change in a society, according to Marxism, must be accompanied by a period of upheaval. "Our task," wrote Lenin in 1902 in What Is to Be Done, "is to utilize every manifestation of discontent, and to collect and utilize every grain of rudimentary protest." Indeed, if you want to change a society, here is Lenin's script: cause the problem. Spread the misery. Send a cadre of professional community organizers to unite all of the angry and disinherited spirits to fuel an organized revolt. Entice chaos and violence. Exploit chaos for larger political objectives. Blame your political opponents, demonize and criminalize them. Move decisively to request a temporary suspension of civil liberties in exchange for the restoration of law and order. Usurp power before the deceived masses realize that there is nothing more permanent in politics than something temporary... http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/detail/from-lenin-to-obama-july-2016-update?f=must_reads

Today's Trends
by Tom MaLaughlin
.
{tommclaughlin.blogspot.com} ~ My mother keeps track of her thirty grandchildren and her forty-six great-grandchildren. She knows all their names too — pretty remarkable for a woman in her nineties. She’s getting forgetful, but not about family. She had eight children of her own and I’m the fourth. Ours was a large family, but not unique. My best friend across the street was one of seven and so was my wife. We had only four children, which was considered a lot for my generation. Fewer Americans want to have any these days though. I’m seeing more people of childbearing age raising dogs and cats instead of babies and I’ve written about it several times including here and here. Why don’t Americans want to have children anymore? What is happening to us?
.

Ma on her 90th birthday with a few of her descendants
.
Our population is still growing but mostly because of immigration. The percent of Americans born somewhere else is approaching record levels. In Portland, Maine, one of six people was born in another country and most of those who are women are having children at much higher rates than native-born Americans. They, at least, have some hope for the future, which is one meaningful aspect of bearing children. Another is willingness to give of oneself.
.

.
Americans tend not to marry much anymore either from what I can see. For two months, I’ve been advertising an apartment above our garage, and while several couples have inquired, none have been married. Typically, a woman calls me to say she is interested. I ask if she’s alone and she says no, it would be for her and her boyfriend. That’s the norm these days. When I say I need first and last months’ rent, a security deposit, and a credit check, that all presents too high a bar for most to get over..

.
Pondering this, I saw a story on CBS News that two out of three Americans could not cover a $500 unexpected expense such as a car repair. I was shocked and realized that statistic bodes ill for our nation. There have always been people who live close to the edge and spend every dollar that comes their way as quickly as they can, but 66% of us live like that now? Even when we were a young family living below the federal poverty line, we kept that much on hand. That was back in the 1970s when $500 could buy about what $2500 buys now. It was hard to save up but we did so by eating a lot of soup and watching where every penny went. My wife and I agree those times were among the happiest of our lives. Most people we knew lived similarly, but that way of life is not the norm anymore. What is happening to us?
.

.
Used to be that when people went broke, they would go to local churches to ask for money to pay the electric bill, the rent, buy heating oil, food, or whatever was the most pressing basic need. Doing so, they had to be accountable to the priest, minister, or rabbi about their spending habits, work habits, and/or lifestyle that might have gotten them into their predicament. If they went to someone in their family for a loan, the same accountability would usually apply. They’d have to explain how they got in the hole they were in and what they were doing to climb out of it.

.

.
Today it’s different. Today people go to government. In the 1960s when President Johnson declared his “War on Poverty,” the federal government began supporting people. There are forms to fill out but few inquiries about lifestyle. Either you qualify for government aid or you don’t. That aid increased steadily to the point where it now spans womb to tomb. It used to be that most had an incentive to save up for emergencies, but if they should save a given amount today it would disqualify them. In 2014, America reached the point where more than half of us received some form of government benefit. How far can “entitlements” expand? We’ll be $20 trillion in debt when President nObama leaves office -- double what it was when he was first inaugurated, and most has gone to pay for unsustainable social programs. That’s a whole year's GDP. Still we hear candidates promise to make college free and forgive another trillion in student debt with no explanation for how they’ll pay for it.
.

.
Americans are living beyond their means and so is the government upon which they depend. It’s not enough anymore to ask what is happening to us. We must ask what will happen if we continue on this path.
