Government bank under fire yanks public info - The Hill: “Critics of the Export-Import Bank are seething over the removal from a government Web site of previously public data earlier they say helps them detect cronyism. Between January 29 and February 13, officials at the bank removed disclosures listing businesses that applied for financing at the bank but were denied, a source at the bank told The Hill. "During a regular quarterly review, it was decided to reformat the way data is presented," the source said. Under the changes, bank officials are no longer disclosing denied applicants. But critics of the Ex-Im, created to help U.S. companies finance overseas endeavors, say that information helps illuminate how the bank chooses which businesses to finance.” -Fox News

Will Congress Take the Immigration Off-Ramp?

Senate Republicans are starting to concede on the efforts to authorize Department of Homeland Security funding and stop Barack nObama's executive overreach on immigration. Given the judicial off-ramp, why should they try? A Texas judge issued an injunction, and if DHS loses its funding the executive branch would make it a political nightmare. Monday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McCon-nell introduced a bill that opposes nObama's executive actions but does not strip those diktats of funding. It's an effort to gain votes from sympathetic Democrats to override a certain veto. On the Senate floor, McCon-nell said, "Some Democrats give the impression they want Congress to address the overreach. But when they vote, they always seem to have an excuse for supporting actions they once criticized. So I'm going to begin proceedings on targeted legislation that would only address the most recent overreach from November. It isn't tied to DHS' funding. It removes their excuse." It used to be that the greatest power against an out-of-control president Congress had was its control of the purse. Only Now Does DHS Secretary Brings Up Terrorism Threat

An African terrorist group, the al-Qaida-affiliated al Shabab, called for attacks on U.S. shopping malls, including the Mall of America in Minnesota. Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson addressed the issue, saying, "We've seen this a number of times now where a group will call for an attack on a country, on a specific location. So, we've got to be vigilant. ... I am not telling people to not go to the mall. I think there needs to be an awareness. There needs to be vigilance. We're in a new phase right now, and that involves public participation in our efforts." So why is this news? Terrorists are known for calling for one attack or another against the West (anyone remember when al-Qaida called for jihadis to start forest fires?) and DHS has operated the See Something, Say Something campaign for years. Johnson only talks about the threat on national television because, at the end of the week, the funding for his department will dry up unless lawmakers pass a funding bill with or without monies for Barack nObama's immigration actions. 'Plenty of Reasons That Suggest nObama Might Not Love America'

The Washington Post's Ed Rogers is a "sufficiently intimidated, mostly tame Republican," and he "won't say" he shares Rudy Giuliani's opinion of Barack nObama's love of country. But Rogers also says there are "plenty of reasons that suggest nObama might not love America." For example, he writes, "It's easy to imagine Bill Clinton and either President Bush getting teary-eyed at the proverbial Fourth of July parade, as the veterans wave and flatbeds filled with 4-H kids roll by. It's hard to imagine nObama in a similar situation." Far more important than simple imagery, however, Rogers points to nObama's "willingness to accommodate America's traditional enemies and at times, disregard old friends, [which] has been a nagging and persistent pattern" in his presidency. Of nObama's lecture about the Crusades, Rogers says, "It was just another example of how the president appears willing to try to understand — if not justify — the actions of those who hate America. When the president is slow to condemn our enemies, it raises doubts about what he really thinks of their case against America." Pentagon Chief 'Open to Reconsidering' Military Retirement System

(Jon Harper) - Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter said Sunday he is open to altering the military retirement system but would not want changes forced on current or former servicemembers...A congressionally chartered Military Compensation and Retirement Modernization Commission submitted proposals last month to lower personnel costs in the Defense Department. It recommended changes to entice troops to opt out of the current pension system, which gives substantial retirement pay to those who serve 20 years or more but none to those who serve less time. The panel suggested all troops be automatically given a savings plan account that would sock away 3 percent of pay along with a contribution from the military. (Dr. Jerome Corsi) – Last week, after Federal District Judge Andrew Hanen’s 123-page opinion shut down Barack nObama’s implementation of hi DHS-engineered “amnesty” plan with a temporary restraining order, the White House defiantly went in search of a federal court willing to issue an emergency order to move forward.

The problem is that the way nObama issued his amnesty “executive action” has some fatal legal flaws, as I predicted and explained weeks ago in writing my new eBook entitled “Amnesty – the Plan nObama Designed to Break America’s Back,” available here at TeaParty.org.

The opening sentence of Judge Hanen’s opinion makes clear the injunction is issued not to block the implementation of an executive order signed by President nObama, but a memorandum issued by DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson.

“This is a case in which twenty-six states or their representatives are seeking injunctive relief against the United States and several officials of the Department of Homeland Security to prevent them from implementing a program entitled ‘Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents,” Judge Hanen wrote.

Noting that the case does not involve either a law passed by Congress or an executive order signed by President nObama, Judge Hanen noted, as my eBook explains, that the White House promoted the idea that President nObama had signed an executive order by having nObama fly to Las Vegas on Nov. 21, 2014, the day following the public address to the nation on immigration, where following his speech at Del Sol High School, nObama invited the press to witness his signing of two presidential executive orders on unrelated immigration issues.

“Finally, both sides agree that the President in his official capacity has not directly instituted any program at issue in this case,” Judge Hanen noted. “Regardless of the fact that the Executive Branch has made public statements to the contrary, there are no executive orders or other presidential proclamations or communiqué that exist regarding DAPA [Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents]. The DAPA memorandum issued by Secretary Johnson is the focus in this suit.”

In granting the injunction to the twenty-six states, led by Texas, that brought the case to court, Judge Hanen made clear his opinion that the DHS memorandum signed by DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson on November 20, 2014, was unconstitutional in that the DHS does not have the authority to grant millions of “DREAMER Parents” what amounts to amnesty by extending to them the deferred prosecution by extending to them the protection to remain in the United States lawfully established for the DREAMER children when in 2012 then-Secretary of DHS Janet Napolitano created the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals [DACA] program.

“The DHS was not given any ‘discretion by law’ to give 4.3 million removable aliens what the DHS itself labels as ‘legal presence,’ ” Judge Hanen concluded wrote in issuing an injunction. “In fact, the law mandates that these illegally-present individuals be removed. The DHS has adopted a new rule that substantially changes both the status and employability of millions. These changes go beyond mere enforcement or even non-enforcement of this nation’s immigration scheme.”

But no matter how intent Barack nObama is to cause a constitutional crisis with the courts to get his way in declaring amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants, these technical but fatal flaws will dog and defeat White House attorneys trying to overturn Judge Hanen’s injunction.

The truth is that nObama as president does not have the authority to ignore or over-rule a federal court, which is why amnesty is headed to the Supreme Court.

But last week, we got more evidence nObama and his open-borders supporters on the radical left are determined to legitimate with an amnesty decree millions of illegal immigrants that have broken U.S. laws to enter the country and remain here.

Approximately 2,000 illegal alien inmates in a Texas prison near the border rioted and set off fires last week in a disturbance that required a massive mobilization of Texas law enforcement to secure the border and restore order.

Local Texas television reported the uprising began at a federal prison in Raymondville, Texas, when a group of prisoners became agitated about the medical services in the private prison facility.

According to Breitbart News, this occurred after the illegal immigrant rioters broke out of the housing areas and set fires in three separate units of the facility, while tearing down tents used for their housing and shaking the perimeter fence as they chanted their grievances.

These are the lawbreakers that President nObama wants to give amnesty, Social Security numbers, work permits, a full range of state and federal welfare payments including food stamps, the right to apply for state driver’s licenses and the right to vote?

Maybe nObama has become desperate to get his amnesty approved by the courts because the Democratic Party has realized their presidential candidate will lose in 2016 unless nObama can get millions of illegal immigrants the same right to vote that citizens enjoy, to counterbalance with lawless illegal aliens the tens of millions that are finally seeing through nObama’s socialist Cloward and Piven plan to destroy the United States from within.

Two weeks ago, Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, urged Congress to shut down the Department of Homeland Security if that is what it takes to stop funding for Barack nObama’s unconstitutional amnesty executive actions.

“nObama is now talking about allowing all those people to whom he’s given unconstitutional amnesty the ability to bring in extended family members,” Gohmert said. “They’ll call it immediate family, but the five million could turn into 20 million or 25 million once you start bringing in all the other family members. That’s part of nObama’s plan to fundamentally transform America.”
