Trump's Message to Kim
In an interview on Monday with Bloomberg News, Donald Trump said something that left many shaking their heads in disbelief or rolling their eyes over yet another instance of his verbal incontinence. Shocking, we know. Trump mused, "If it would be appropriate for me to meet with [North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un], I would absolutely. I would be honored to do it." He continued, "If it's under ... the right circumstances. But I would do that."
When it comes to ad-lib remarks in interviews, much like his unrefined use of Twitter (which thankfully is now subject to some moderation), Trump still is prone to forget that every word he says will be trumpeted around the world. At issue specifically was Trump's use of the word "honored" in his reference to North Korea's ruthless dictator. Once again, many pounced on Trump's words as further evidence of his supposed admiration of strong men. Coming on the heels of his promise to invite murderous Philippine dictator Rodrigo Duterte and Turkey's budding tyrant Tayyip Erdogan to the White House, this is understandable. But that's also an overly simplistic assessment that misses the purpose behind Trump's statement. Listen for what he means not what he says.
Clearly, Trump is aiming to diffuse an increasingly tense situation. His offer of a conditional olive branch toward Kim — and make no mistake, any meeting is absolutely conditional on North Korea's behavior — coupled with his flatting reference to Kim as a "smart cookie," are designed to lay ground work for a potential diplomatic solution. And while Trump's words may have little impact on Kim, it plays well with China, the most important player in helping the U.S. clamp down on the despot John McCain more accurately labeled the "crazy fat kid."
Showing honor, especially to those in positions of authority, is of great importance to the cultures of the Far East. Trump's statements play to the Eastern ear as a serious and respectful expression for seeking a diplomatic solution. And while Westerners justifiably hear Trump's words as foolish, the desired aim of de-escalating the growing conflict is not so careless. It's also important to note that Trump's statements were made at the same time as the U.S. military announced that the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Missile Shield in South Korea is now operational. That is no coincidence.
Finally, in the highly unlikely event that the Kim regime actually capitulates to the U.S. and the rest of the world's demand of nuclear disarmament, a bilateral meeting between the U.S. and North Korea would be a significant change in longstanding U.S. policy. That may end up being far more consequential than Trump's verbal blunder. ~The Patriot Post

CNN host Kate Bolduan asks Graham about a tweet that President Trump sent out, noting that it came on the heels of averting a government shutdown, in which he wrote, “The reason for the plan negotiated between the Republicans and Democrats is that we need 60 votes in the Senate which are not there. We either elect more Republican Senators in 2018 or change the rules now to 51%. Our country needs a good shutdown in September to fix mess.” She asks, “Is a government shutdown ever good, Senator?” He replies, “Well, no, but at the end of the day, since World War ll, there have been four times Republicans had the White House, the Senate and the House, 11 times for the Democrats. Now she tells Joy Reid on MSNBC that president Trump could be impeached. She hasn’t seen any evidence, but she says she believes he conspired it’s all true. Wacko Waters also believes the bogus Trump dossier produced by a former British agent for the President’s primary opponents which not only has been proven bogus, but includes an act that a germaphobe like Donald Trump would never do–but that doesn’t bother the congresswoman from California. Ryan, McConnell As Much Enemies Of Trump As Dems

{rickwells.us} ~ Laura Ingraham points out that the Democrats should be really happy with the spending bill, that once again Paul Ryan delivered to them everything they could have possibly asked for... She reminds us that President Trump campaigned as an unconventional politician, saying that if she had been advising him on this, she’ have told him to say, “‘Congress, I can’t tell you what to do, but I’ll tell you what I campaigned on. I’m not going to get everything I want, but I’ll tell you some things that are non-negotiable.’ Let them do what they want. If his main points and his main priorities are not in that budget, then he should veto it, make them own it, override his veto if they want, and give an address to the nation.” She continues, “A thirty minute address where you explain how we got into this mess and how responsible stewardship of this economy is required now and that he’s bold enough to do it. How about Earth Day 2014? Leftists worried about global warming trashed the protest grounds, then left others to worry about the mess. It should have been called a “garbage march.” Did the tree huggers ever contemplate how many trees were sacrificed to create their protest signs on unrecyclable colored paper?
It was same game by a different name in 2016, when Dakota Access Pipeline protesters gathered in the name of clean land and water. Six months later, protesters left behind mountains of garbage which quickly turned into frozen iceberg-sized chunks of junk. Sanitation crews scurried to remove the approximately 250 truckloads of garbage before the spring thaw so it would not turn to toxic waste. Law enforcement officials reported protesters had also set multiple fires in the area.
After these environmental hypocrites vacated the site, two abandoned dogs and six puppies were found roaming the area in the extreme cold. In addition, West Dakota news station KFYR-TV reports a fisherman found the body of a confirmed protester in a river located near a protest camp site.
How any of that helps land and drinking water is beyond comprehension.
Leftists’ words and actions rarely align. They protest simply for the sake of protesting. Lately, all their protests have the same anti-Trump theme cloaked under the pretense of one benign cause or another. Talk about accomplishments, in his first 100 days President Trump motivated more people, protesters, to get off their couch than Michelle liar-nObama did in 8 years!
Leftist women turned off the Hallmark Channel and got moving on January 21, 2017 for the anti-Trump Women’s March. Although the environment was one of the issues they protested, they lived up to their self-proclaimed “nastiness” with a nasty trail of trash left behind. Obviously, their love for the Earth was trumped by their hate for Trump. They yak about equality then expect others to clean up their mess.
Same march, different Saturday, leftists usurped Earth Day 2017, theming it as an anti-Trump march for science, obviously intended to polarize the man-caused global warming skeptics among us, which are many. Frankly, Earth Day should be renamed as “Trash Bash” given these science slobs’ history of leaving litter in their wake as they foot stomp in fascist fashion, demanding a cleaner Earth.
As I write, the Twitter-verse comes to life over the April 29 “People’s Climate Change” protests where a man with a bullhorn reminded marchers to take their trash with them. Why on Earth was that necessary at a save the Earth march is beyond me.
Social media pictures display marchers -- who demand policies to combat climate change and harp about corporate greed -- sipping from environmentally-unfriendly plastic-coated coffee cups at Starbucks while staring at their iPhones. Oh, the irony…
Meanwhile, celebrities like carbon billionaire Al Gore who predicted the ice caps would melt by 2014 and Leonardo DiCaprio who rents super yachts that burn a ridiculous amount of diesel fuel per hour did their part to save the planet…by showing up.
Apparently, their almighty presence neutralizes the exorbitant carbon footprint they create from owning multiple homes and traveling on private jets. It’s the thought that counts. Or something.
Because marching seems to be the latest trend, why not schedule a mandatory march following every march to clean up the litter leftists leave behind? After all, this is about saving the planet. Right?

Leftists described the 2011 Occupy Movement as a breath of fresh air, although movement trash rats deposited their bowel movements on police cars and Zuccotti Park doorsteps. They also left tons of foul rubbish on streets. Democrats are all about handouts, so maybe they should have handed out doggie doo bags.
