{spectator.org} ~ The Democrat Party has lost its mind. What’s happening there, however, is not happening in isolation. In society and in life nothing happens in isolation... There’s a word that describes the Party’s behavior: nihilism: “a viewpoint that traditional values and beliefs are unfounded and that existence is senseless and useless, a doctrine that denies any objective ground of truth and especially moral truths.” That definition fits the current Democrat Party. The Party and the left place little or no value on tradition, the Constitution, the sanctity of life, borders, private property rights, voting-law enforcement, election outcomes, standards of behavior, or free speech. These are all fundamentally different kinds of rules or systems of rules. The left does not like rules at least not for themselves. If you do not like rules, you do not like order, and the alternative to order is chaos. The Democrat Party is attempting to lead the country into chaos. Once you recognize that the Democrat Party is nihilistic it becomes easier to understand why they think and act as they do. Jordan Peterson’s profoundly brilliant and important book is titled 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote for Chaos. In it he writes “Chaos and order make up the eternal, transcendent environment of the living.” Chaos and order also define one of the important differences between liberals and conservatives. As President Trump has said, “If you don’t have borders you don’t have a country.” That’s actually fine with the Democrats and the left. For example, Democrats want to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE). They not only want to prevent more border wall being built, some of them want to tear down the wall already in place...

Palestinians: Arresting, Torturing Journalists

{gatestoneinstitute.org} ~ The Palestinian Authority (PA) in the West Bank is continuing its unremitting security crackdown on Palestinian journalists... particularly on those who are not affiliated with Mahmoud Abbas's ruling Fatah faction. Scores of journalists have been arrested or summoned by the PA in the West Bank on a regular basis in the past few years. In the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, Palestinian journalists are facing a similar campaign of intimidation and harassment. In the past few days, another two journalists, Hazem Nasser and Amer Abu Arafeh, were arrested by the PA security forces -- and not for the first time. Nasser, who is from the city of Tulkarem, and Abu Arafeh, who is from Hebron, have, in fact, become "frequent visitors" of PA detention centers and interrogation rooms. The incarceration of Nasser and Abu Arafeh brings to 16 the number of Palestinian journalists who have been arrested or summoned for interrogation by the PA security forces in the West Bank and Hamas in the Gaza Strip just since the beginning of this year. The Palestinian Committee for Supporting Journalists (PCSJ) has condemned the continued harsh treatment of its colleagues. The journalists were targeted because of their profession and political views, the committee said. It accused the PA and Hamas of waging a campaign of intimidation and harassment against Palestinian journalists by arresting them, summoning them for interrogation, raiding their homes and confiscating their computers and mobile phones...
The Most Insane College Courses Currently Radicalizing A Generation Of Students

by thefederalist.com:   On the Federalist Radio Hour, Emily Jashinsky and Spencer Brown, spokesman for Young America’s Foundation, discuss the craziest courses offered at American universities just this year alone... Colleges are creating classes that don’t just teach about debated ideologies like socialism, intersectionality or “Unsettling Whiteness,” but condition students to believe their ideologies are the correct ones to subscribe to without teaching the other side.  “It’s so overwhelming, if you’re a student walking onto a college campus, even on the first day of class you’re just his with this as being the only way to think, and any departure from that leftist orthodoxy is treated as a microagression,” Brown said.

Why House Republicans Should Force
A Vote On The Green New Deal

{thefederalist.com} ~ Several weeks ago, not long after Rep. commie-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) introduced her infamous Green New Deal legislation, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell  announced his intention to force the full Senate to vote on the measure... While they haven’t said as much publicly, House Republicans should attempt to follow suit, and demand that House Democrats vote on the bill. Multiple  press accounts late last week talked of divisions within the House Democratic Caucus pitting commie-Ocasio-Cortez and liberals against members from more moderate districts. Forcing a vote on the Green New Deal would highlight not just the bad ideas in the legislation, but how the Democratic Party remains in disarray over commie-Ocasio-Cortez’ socialist vision. Internal dissension within Democratic ranks erupted at a closed-door meeting of House Democrats last Thursday. On Wednesday, Republicans had successfully used a motion to recommit—the minority party’s last chance to amend legislation in the House before it comes to a final vote—to attach an immigration-related provision on to a Democrat gun-control measure. The amendment added a requirement that, if the national background check system finds that an undocumented immigrant has applied to purchase a handgun, authorities notify Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) of that fact. Ignore for the moment that 209 members of Congress—all but one of them Democrats—opposed this common-sense move to notify immigration authorities when individuals unlawfully present attempt to purchase guns. In Thursday’s closed-door meeting, House Democratic leaders and liberals in the party sounded incredulous against the 26 moderate Democrats who had the temerity to support such a provision. According to the Washington Post, commie-Ocasio-Cortez took the occasion to make some thinly veiled threats against her colleagues...  http://thefederalist.com/2019/03/07/house-republicans-force-vote-green-new-deal/?utm_source=The+Federalist+List&utm_campaign=e0c2dfa9db-

ACLU Says New Democrat Election Bill
is Unconstitutional

by patriotnewsdaily.com:   Well, you know the Democrats have overstepped when the American Friggin’ Civil Liberties Union is on their backs. The ACLU has been a left-aligned organization since its inception... but it has really taken off its “oh, we’re just here to defend the Constitution” clothing in the Trump era, where it has become a full-scale tool of the #Resistance. While they’ve made some nominal noise about making sure it’s okay for white supremacists to speak their minds and gather, the brunt of their work has gone towards suing the Trump administration, protecting the “constitutional rights” of abortion and gay marriage, and writing blog posts about how awful the right-wing in America is. So for them to come out against the Democrats and their new election legislation, you know it has to be some godawful stuff. In a 13-page letter announcing the ACLU’s opposition to the overhaul bill, the group’s national political director said there were aspects of the bill that would have a chilling effect on the First Amendment. “They will have the effect of harming our public discourse by silencing necessary voices that would otherwise speak out about the public issues of the day,” the ACLU wrote. Among the chief complaints from the ACLU are that the legislation would go after lobbying interests so hard that it would make it nearly impossible for a former lobbyists to even communicate with a senior federal lawmaker for up to eight years, an absurd punishment that does not fit the “crime” that Democrats are attempting to solve. The legal group also said that the disclosure rules included in the bill are broad to the point of uselessness, making it potentially illegal for independent organizations to take action on something they’d discussed even before an ally had run for office. “When groups like the American Civil Liberties Union, who have traditionally supported the Democratic party, echo my concerns with H.R. 1, it underscores why election reform legislation should not be developed in a partisan manner,” said Rep. Rodney Davis, the ranking Republican on the House Administration Committee.

Malkin, rino-McCain, and Immigration

Harold Hutchison:  Michelle Malkin’s speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference generated a lot of controversy — particularly when she fired a posthumous cheap shot at the late rino-John McCain. “Sanctuary cities have metastasized and both parties are to blame,” Malkin said. “And yes, I’m looking at you, retired Paul Ryan. And yes, I’m looking at you, Mitch McConnell. And yes, I’m looking at you, Bush family.” Then she pointed upward adding, “And yes, I’m looking at you, the ghost of rino-John McCain.”

Given rino-McCain’s reputation as a thorn in the side of conservatives, it’s no surprise that Malkin, whose syndicated columns appear at The Patriot Post, generated applause from the audience with that line during her speech. As much as anything, it’s the hypocrisy that rankles. While she complained about the Left abusing the dead for political gain, she did just that in her CPAC speech.

Unfortunately, Malkin also has had a close relationship with VDARE.com, a site that is remarkably tolerant of white nationalists. That relationship with VDARE (including an interview with Faith Goldy) has not only made it easier for a dishonest mainstream media to paint all those who want a secure border as racists, but it hands Silicon Valley“evidence” to justify its censorship of conservative voices on this and other issues.

We are aware that broken promises on border security are a major reason that the MAGA wing of conservatism has a valid reason to distrust both the Republican and conservative establishments. We also want our borders secure (including our maritime borders), and we want illegal immigration stopped, but we vehemently reject white nationalism and racism.

All that being said, rino-John McCain came in for his fair share of deserved criticism from our team when he was alive. All too often, he sought plaudits from the mainstream media at the expense of conservatives. He had a tendency to imply bad faith (or corruption) on the part of people who did not see things his way on issues that he was very passionate about (like campaign-finance “reform”), especially when it came to legislation.

That failing — an occasional blindness to the fact that Americans could disagree with him in good faith — was somewhat overlooked in the 2008 presidential campaign, largely due to his selection of Sarah Palin as his running mate. But even as he was being smeared by Democrats in that presidential race, he was simultaneously managing to annoy those whose enthusiastic support he needed to even have a prayer of winning the election in a very unfavorable political landscape.

Afterwards, rino-McCain sincerely pursued a number of policies he felt were best for the country. We had disagreements with some of them, including the halt of F-22 production and putting incredibly foolish limits on interrogations. rino-McCain also tended to push for bipartisanship, trying to address some of the most thorny issues America faced, but often undercut more conservative solutions.

One thing that we can say, though, is that there were never any grounds to doubt rino-McCain’s love for the United States of America. That was proven beyond a shadow of a doubt during his involuntary stay at the Hanoi Hilton. In addition, it is also certain beyond a shadow of a doubt that America would have been better off if rino-McCain had won the 2008 presidential election instead of Barack scumbag/liar-nObama.

When it comes down to it, rino-McCain supported the cause of limited government more often than not. He was a man who sacrificed much for this country while serving in the United States Navy, and who then spent his retirement from military service by again serving the United States in Congress as opposed to potentially more lucrative civilian employment.

In the past, our team has noted that while Donald Trump has been an effective president in advancing conservative policies and goals, he is not exactly the best role model. With rino-John McCain, we have to admit that in some ways, the opposite is true — he was often an outstanding role model who was, to put it mildly, probably not the best at advancing conservative policies and goal.

We wish that Malkin had kept that balance in mind.  ~The Patriot Post
