{fixthisnation.com} ~ Senate Republicans are determined to pass their version of a new healthcare bill by July 4th, and Democrats are preparing various ways to make sure that doesn’t happen... According to a new report from Politico and Fox News, Chuck clown-Schumer’s minions are plotting to stall the GOP through public statements, filibusters, and any other means necessary. Included in that is the narrative that Republicans are proceeding with the bill in a secretive, closed-door fashion that prevents the public from knowing what’s going into the law before it comes up for a vote. That narrative was used against Democrats in 2009, when the original healthcare bill – the monster that ultimately came to be known as liar-nObamacare – was being deliberated. But now Democrats are telling the press that while the accusations against them were untrue, they really do have a case against Republicans. “Doing this behind closed doors is actually not what we did,” said Sen. . UN Targets 'Cultural Appropriation'
"Cultural appropriation" is a popular term used by social justice warriors (SJWs) to vilify those who adopt ideas, styles, dress, expressions, cuisine or social practices from cultures not their own. That used to be known here as the American melting pot, but SJWs claim this is a form of racial oppression. Well, the United Nations has decided that "cultural appropriation" has become a big issue — so much so that delegates from 189 countries are gathering for a specialized international committee meeting in Geneva in order to declare the practice illegal and work toward creating international laws to prevent it.
The goal of the UN, says James Anaya, dean of law at the University of Colorado, should be to "obligate states to create effective criminal and civil enforcement procedures to recognize and prevent the non-consensual taking and illegitimate possession, sale and export of traditional cultural expressions." You heard that right — the UN should require governments of the world to create laws which prevent citizens from engaging in the traditions of other cultures. This is ironic given that the constant mantra from the UN and the Left has been calls for greater diversity and globalism. This is a call to tribalism.
In reality, this UN special committee is working to prevent the cultural and economic development of some nations, and the U.S. in particular. Our entire history is one of engaging in the adoption and blending of a multitude of various cultural traditions and practices into one — e pluribus unum. The UN evidently views the concept of a melting pot as racist and oppressive. Just another issue for those disgruntled nations within the UN to use to demonize the U.S.
And that really seems to be the point. Much of the world rejects those foundational values espoused in the U.S. Constitution. Whether it is the right to bear arms or the right to freedom of speech, those are values that many of the world's intellectual elites find repugnant, because those rights prevent them from controlling people. Liberty prevents them from being able to rule the world according to their own ideals. It allows for the common man to express his own opinions and values. To put it bluntly, this is an attempt to squelch that Liberty.

{aim.org} ~ While the media are enjoying what they say is Republican hypocrisy over their process to pass a Senate version of a bill to repeal and replace liar-nObamacare, there is little attention being paid to the substance of the debate... President Donald Trump didn’t help matters when he muddied the waters, first saying that the House version of the bill, which he had enthusiastically supported, was too “mean,” and now saying he wants the Senate version to have “more heart.” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has promised reporters a “discussion draft” of the bill later this week. In the meantime, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and many Democrats are blasting the bill as heartless and cruel. ISIS will probably be reduced to a small enclave with no territorial continuity, and its chief, Abu Bakr al Baghdadi, will be eliminated. It would, nevertheless, be most dangerous to dismiss these three years as a short parenthesis: Nazism did not last as long: "just" 12 years in power and five at war with the rest of Europe. The physical and cultural consequences of the Nazi tyranny are, unfortunately, still visible in Europe. The same will be said of the Islamic State. Three years of terror and conquests are not bad in for a war between the Caliphate vs. everyone else. ISIS will leave behind an unprecedented terrorist infrastructure (277 Europeans killed on European soil in two years). If ISIS is retreating in Mosul, it is rapidly advancing in Manchester. {townhall.com} ~ Press Secretary Sean Spicer is taking a step back from his very public role at the podium to help manage the message coming out of the White House from the communications team. From POLITICO:
White House press secretary Sean Spicer is leading a search for his own replacement at the briefing room podium as part of a larger plan to shake up the White House communications operations, according to two people with knowledge of the effort.
Last week, Spicer and White House chief of staff Reince Priebus reached out to Fox News personality Laura Ingraham about the role of press secretary and Daily Mail editor David Martosko about the role of communications director, according to a White House official.
Deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who has frequently filled in for Spicer, has told people that she doesn’t want the job of press secretary, according to a source close to her.
“We have sought input from many people as we look to expand our communications operation,” Sanders said. “As he did in the beginning, Sean Spicer is managing both the communications and press office.”
When President Trump was inaugurated in January, Spicer was running the communications team and serving as press secretary. In February Mike Dubke was hired as the Communications Director, but resigned in May, prompting Spicer to again take on the communications workload in addition to his press secretary duties. Dubke helped plan President Trump's first foreign trip.
Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will brief reporters from now on as the White House looks for a replacement. Whether Spicer will stay at the White House in a different role is still unclear.
