Emmett Till Anti-Lynching Act Won't

Hide the Real Threat to Black Lives

{ americanthinker.com } ~ Last week, the House of Representatives passed the "Emmett Till Anti-Lynching Act," which designates lynching a federal hate crime,"sixty-five years after 14-year-old Emmett Till was lynched in Mississippi."... The vote for the measure was a lopsided 410 to 4. The Senate passed its version of the bill in February, and President Trump is expected to sign the final version. Anti-lynching laws had been proposed in Congress going back over 100 years but always failed. The ever-eloquent Senator scumbag-Cory Booker said the act can't undo the damage of past lynchings, but "we can ensure that we as a country make clear that lynching will not be tolerated." Did that need clearing up? If lynching were still being tolerated, why do Democrats have to go back to the first Eisenhower administration for a victim to name their law after? Even the act's own findings stipulate that the era in which blacks were being lynched was "between 1882 and 1968." The act is an empty and unneeded reminder of a threat to blacks — horrible as it was in its time — that ended more than half a century ago. If the threat of lynching had any currency, then the senators who introduced their version of the bill, lowlife-Kamala Harris and scumbag-Cory Booker, wouldn't need a character like Jussie Smollett to stage his own "attempted modern-day lynching" to boost it. Nor would there be any need for the glut of staged racial hate crimes. But Democrats are desperate to prevent any more black voters from waking up and voting for Trump, and that means incessantly raising the specter of Republicans re-instituting Jim Crow. This has been their go-to plan at least since Barack scumbag/liar-nObama's first campaign in 2008. The only problem with the plan is that Jim Crow, the Ku Klux Klan, and lynching were all institutions born, nurtured, and protected by Democrats in the solidly Democrat South. The true history of Democrat racism has been carefully kept from those who get their facts from social media or public education. They've been lied to for decades that all the old Klan Democrats turned Republicans, and the Republican Party is now inexplicably responsible for the ugly history of Jim Crow. It's nonsense on stilts. All those thwarted anti-lynching bills going back 100 years were thwarted by Democrats — like when Republican congressman Leonidas C. Dyer introduced a bill in 1918 "to protect citizens of the United States against lynching in default of protection by the States." It became the blueprint for subsequent anti-lynching bills promoted by the Republican-founded NAACP: it made lynching a capital crime and provided for heavy fines on county and law enforcement officials who disregard the law when it comes to blacks. Dyer's bill died in committee in the Democrat-controlled Congress. A later bill offered when Republicans gained a majority in Congress barely passed the House against ferocious Democrat resistance: "among the 119 who voted 'no' were four future Speakers of the House, each a southern Democrat who eventually presided over the chamber," including a hero of modern Democrats, the "iconic" Sam Rayburn. Several candidates dropped out this week, and one joined the race. His name is Barack scumbag/liar-nObama. Now that the campaign has settled into a two-man contest, the central issue, which was not inevitable, has emerged. Do Democrats want a return to the less radical era of private health-care options and free trade? Or do they want a new Democratic Party in commie-Bernie’s image that nationalizes whatever it can get its hands on and engages in protectionism and Green New Deals? In some ways this mirrors the dueling Democratic narratives that emerged from the 2018 midterms in which they took back the House of Representatives. The popular narrative shouted from the covers of political and cultural magazines and on social media was that minority women like Rep. commie-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in Queens had spoken truth to Donald Trump’s power and beaten him. The narrative inside politics was that moderate Democrats like Max Rose in Staten Island had flipped swing districts and that, although unsung, were the real heroes of 2018. This dichotomy, between the radical green left and the less radical purple right of the party, will be front and center in the primary battle. Had one of the fresh faces, an Amy Klobuchar or socialist-Pete Buttigieg, emerged as the stopper of commie-Sanders’s socialism, this election would not be so focused on whether scumbag/liar-nObama and his brand of liberalism still lies at the core of the Democrat Party. But now it is about little else. So much of loose lips liar-Biden’s message is connected to his time with his good friend scumbag/liar-Barack that it could scarcely be otherwise. Every now and then in American politics, we see a hostile takeover of a major party. One could argue that scumbag/liar-Bill Clinton, a Southern “conservative” Democrat, executed such a takeover in 1992, being nominated by the party that had put up Massachusetts liberal Michael Dukakis just four years earlier. Obviously the most recent example is Trump’s bear hug on the GOP, which has transformed it in myriad ways...

FISA Court Responds to DOJ and FBI Reform Proposals – Opinion and Order Does Not Outline Ramifications From FISC Abuses

However, facing sunlight and backlash from democrats & republicans in congress, along with push-back from President Trump, that approach appears to have been scrapped... Hence the current timing of a FISC opinion and order. The FISA Court has responded to the overall reform proposal of the DOJ and FBI. However, in the opinion & order today, written by Presiding Judge Boasberg, the court does not address the ongoing downstream investigative consequences from the fraudulent Carter Page FISA application. Instead the presiding judge focuses narrowly on the DOJ and FBI proposals for future applications. The issues of what evidence the FBI/DOJ gathered from the exploitation of the fraudulent warrant is not addressed. Nor does the court deal with the downstream issues of what cases may have been enhanced with illegally obtained surveillance authority. Additionally, how the DOJ and FBI are attempting to round-up “sequester” any evidence that was gathered as a result of the fraudulent and unlawful FISA application is also not addressed...

In addition, Turkey's decision to deploy thousands of troops to Idlib province in northern Syria has resulted in a fresh wave of refugees fleeing across the border into southern Turkey, where Turkish officials are already struggling to cope with the estimated four million Syrian refugees that have already sought sanctuary in the sprawling refugee camps. One of the main reasons that Mr Erdogan now finds himself facing this difficult predicament is that he has badly underestimated the nature of his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin. When Turkey took the controversial decision last year to purchase Russia's state-of-the-art S-400 anti-aircraft missile system, Mr Erdogan calculated that it would herald new era of friendly cooperation with Ankara's long-standing rival in Moscow even if, by pressing ahead with the deal, the Turks risked jeopardising their relationship with NATO, which bitterly opposed the deal. I covered one of them... the Alabama Senate primary on the GOP side. Jeff Sessions finished a close and disappointing second and faces a runoff race with former Auburn football coach Tommy Tuberville. For Democrats, rejection of the most radical candidates was a theme that carried over from the presidential primaries. In California, where the radical commie-Sanders won, a special election was held to fill the seat abandoned by Rep. Kate Hill after her sexual misconduct was exposed. One of the candidates was Cenk Uygur of the ultra-left Young Turks. Support for Uygur, a sexist pig, was negligible. The choice of only 6 percent of voters, he was little more than a blip on the election radar. Democrat Christy Smith and Republican Mike Garcia emerged from the free for all. They will compete in what might be a tight runoff race on May 12. This district, CA 25, was held by a Republican until Hill won it. In North Carolina, the Democrats selected their challenger to Sen. Thom Tillis. It will be Cal Cunningham, a former state senator. He defeated current state senator Erica Smith, who ran as a radical leftist for example, she backed the Green New Deal. Republicans were hoping Smith would win. A GOP super PAC reportedly spent $3 million to boost her campaign. However, Cunningham prevailed easily, 57-35. As I noted earlier this week, the left has nothing to offer on the coronavirus debate but hate and vitriol. The Trump administration is calling the shots, not Chuck scumbag-Schumer, not liar-Nancy Pelosi, not The New York Times.

Of course, that’s not stopping the left from carping, complaining, and offering unsolicited advice. But its progressive prescriptions are absurd. For example:

CNN complained about the racial makeup of the administration’s coronavirus task force. Just more evidence of how far the “woke” left has strayed from Martin Luther King’s dream that we should judge people not based on the color of their skin but on their abilities and the content of their character.
MSNBC is fretting about xenophobia. The left-wing media outlet Vox lectured us on “the history of racism and ‘cleanliness.’”
“Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd suggested that Trump is to blame for the coronavirus panic, saying, “You reap what you sow.” In Todd’s twisted mind, there is panic because no one trusts the government to handle the crisis because Trump has attacked and undermined our vital institutions. Again, this is total nonsense. The Deep State has been doing its best to attack and undermine Trump since before he was elected.

Meanwhile, the left can barely contain its glee over the fear currently roiling the financial markets. It’s not surprising. It doesn’t have much to run on.

Its radical policies — open borders, abortion on demand, free healthcare for illegal aliens, and much more — are tremendously unpopular.

Its candidates are not compelling.

Its convention could turn into a civil war.

But it’s just giddy about coronavirus!

By the way, Democrats have repeatedly complained in recent days that Trump cut the budgets of critical health-related agencies. This charge came up several times during the South Carolina Democrat debate. The only problem is that it is false.

An Associated Press fact check found that while Trump’s budgets have proposed certain cuts, Congress ignored them and actually increased funding. “The National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention aren’t suffering from budget cuts that never took effect.”

The Associated Press also rejected Chuck Todd’s claims that Trump has undermined the government’s response, writing:

The public health system has a playbook to follow for pandemic preparation — regardless of who’s president… Those plans were put into place in anticipation of another flu pandemic, but are designed to work for any respiratory-borne disease.

We Have a Winner!

After 25 days and a partial recount, we finally have a declared winner in the Iowa Democrat caucuses. In a statement Thursday, the Iowa Democrat Party declared, “The recount process resulted in no change to the National Delegate allocation."

Translation: socialist-Pete Buttigieg wins and will receive 14 delegates. commie-Bernie Sanders finished second and gets 12 delegates.

Except that the Associated Press isn’t buying it. While acknowledging that the results will be certified Saturday, the Associated Press declared that it will not call a winner due to "remaining concerns about whether the results as reported by the party are fully accurate."

In related news, new polling shows commie-Bernie Sanders with big leads over his closest competitors in upcoming Super Tuesday states. For example:

commie-Sanders is up 17 points over Elizabeth dinky/liar-Warren in California (34% to 17%).
He’s up 12 points over dinky/liar-Warren in Colorado (27% to 15%).
He’s is up nine points over loose lips liar-Joe Biden in Virginia (28% to 19%).
And commie-Sanders (26%) is up six points over loose lios liar-Biden (20%) and Bloomberg (20%) in Texas.

Bloomberg and the Mosque

I’ve heard some people suggest that Michael Bloomberg is the "moderate” in the Democrat race, primarily because he’s defending capitalism and calling out commie-Sanders’s socialism. That doesn’t make him moderate.

Bloomberg is promoting a host of big-government solutions and always sides with the radical left in the culture wars. From banning guns to Big Gulps, Bloomberg is anything but moderate. He’s a left-wing elitist who thinks he knows best how to run your life.

If you need any more evidence, let’s go back a few years to the great national debate over the proposed Ground Zero mosque.

A CBS News poll found that 71% of Americans opposed the construction of a mosque just two blocks from the site of the 9/11 attacks, where 3,000 Americans were murdered by radical Islamic supremacists. Many 9/11 families led protests against the mosque.

But Bloomberg aggressively defended the Ground Zero mosque when he was mayor of New York City. At the time he said, “I think it’s fair to say if somebody was going to try, on that piece of property, to build a church or a synagogue, nobody would be yelling and screaming.”

Could you be more tone-deaf?!

Actually, there was a church even closer to Ground Zero that was trying to rebuild, and it spent years fighting Bloomberg’s bureaucrats.

And Bloomberg is still unapologetic about his support for the Ground Zero mosque. In fact, he’s campaigning on it, even tweeting about it this week.

By the way, another great American stepped up at the time, hoping to resolve the dispute over the mosque. His name was Donald Trump.

Trump offered to buy out the mosque’s investors, and he even offered a very generous 25% premium, in order to “end a very serious, inflammatory, and highly divisive situation.” ~The Patriot Post
