Fox News backs Laura Ingraham, says voices won’t
be ‘censored’ after advertisers withdraw support from show
by Diana Stancy Correll
{ washingtonexaminer.com } ~ Fox News is backing network host Laura Ingraham and warned they won’t permit the voices of Fox employees to be “censored,”... after advertisers from Ingraham’s show started to withdraw their support last week after she mocked a survivor from the Parkland, Fla., shooting. The boycott came after David Hogg, one of the most outspoken voices following the shooting, encouraged advertisers to pull out from Ingraham’s show after she tweeted about Hogg's complaints about being rejected by four colleges. “We cannot and will not allow voices to be censored by agenda-driven intimidation efforts,” Fox News Co-President Jack Abernethy said in a statement Monday. “We look forward to having Laura Ingraham back hosting her program next Monday when she returns from spring vacation with her children.”... https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/fox-news-backs-laura-ingraham-says-voices-wont-be-censored-after-advertisers-withdraw-support-from-show .
Trump Calls for Nuclear Option
to Protect America from Border Invasion
{ rickwells.us } ~ President Trump understands that our nation is in serious jeopardy from a combination of an open, minimally defended southern border... and the illegal aliens and drugs that pass easily through them as well as the pro-invasion and corrupt politicians whose careers are based upon maintaining that vulnerable condition as the basis for their holding on to the connections and financing that are key to their remaining in power. He was vocal in that regard on the campaign trail and was elected in large part based upon his promises to give us a secure border. Now, after more than a year of attempting to play nice with the left, refusing to recognize that nothing ever satisfies them and that it is impossible to deal with them, as they don’t want what’s best for America, President Trump seems to have had a return to his former, aware self. He’s going after both the open border and the sellout swamp creatures who put personal wealth and power ahead of the well-being of our nation... https://rickwells.us/trump-nuclear-option-border/

As CA Rolls Out Welcome Mat for
Caravan of Illegals, TX Has Surprise Waiting
{ conservativetribune.com } ~ As a caravan of more than 1,000 migrants make its way across Mexico with the hopes of entering the United States... how and where those migrants enter the country remains unknown. It is assumed officials in California will welcome them should they attempt to enter the country there, but Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has other plans should they hope to enter via his state. In a tweet posted Sunday, Abbott sent out a reminder that it’s not just U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents manning the entry points to Texas. He’s also deployed National Guard troops, Abbott said... https://conservativetribune.com/as-ca-rolls-out-welcome-mat-for-caravan-of-illegals-tx-has-surprise-waiting/?utm_source=Email&utm_medium=newsletter-C50&utm_campaign=dailyam&utm_content=conservative-50.
ICE arrests farmworkers, sparking fears in the
Central Valley over immigrants and the economy
by ANDREA CASTILLO
{ latimes.com } ~ Jesus Aceves was driving three of his fellow farmworkers to the tomato fields in the early-morning darkness when he saw lights flash behind him... ICE agents pulled him over and asked for his license, registration and insurance and, most forebodingly, whether the men were in the United States legally. Aceves and his passengers were taken to an immigrant detention facility. But none of them had been the target of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Three of the men had no criminal records. The most serious blots on the 44-year-old Aceves’ record were several convictions — the most recent in 2012 — for driving without a license. That morning, an ICE spokesman said, agents went to a Kern County residence where they thought an immigration target lived. One of the men who got into Aceves’ car matched that person’s description, he said. The ICE agents followed....
Native Americans Now Targeting Statues for Destruction
by RICK MORAN
{ pjmedia.com } ~ No other city has taken down a monument to a president for his misdeeds... But Arcata is poised to do just that. The target is an 8½-foot bronze likeness of William McKinley, who was president at the turn of the last century and stands accused of directing the slaughter of Native peoples in the U.S. and abroad. "Put a rope around its neck and pull it down," Chris Peters shouted at a recent rally held at the statue, which has adorned the central square for more than a century. Peters, who heads the Arcata-based Seventh Generation Fund for Indigenous People, called McKinley a proponent of "settler colonialism" that "savaged, raped and killed." The push follows the rapid fall of Confederate memorials across the South in a victory for activists who view them as celebrating slavery. In the nearly eight months since white supremacists marched in central Virginia to protest the removal of a Robert E. Lee statue, cities across the country have yanked dozens of Confederate monuments. Black politicians and activists have been among the strongest supporters of the removals... https://pjmedia.com/trending/native-americans-now-targeting-statues-destruction/?utm_source=PJMCoffeeBreak&utm_medium=email&utm_term=April2018.

Ballooning Costs May Force USAF to Cut F-35 Orders
by National Security Desk: If the U.S. Air Force can’t figure out a way trim operational and support cost for its F-35 fighter jets by 38%, then it may have to cut the current order from Lockheed Martin by a third, or 590 aircraft. Bloomberg reports, “The long-term support concerns are on top of current F-35 challenges including parts shortages, unavailable aircraft and technical issues that must be solved as the program ends its 17-year development phase. In September, the F-35 is to begin as much as a year of rigorous combat testing that’s required by law. Successful testing would trigger full-rate production, the most profitable phase for Lockheed, as soon as late 2019.” Half of the operations costs are due to support expenditures tied to Lockheed’s “program management, depot maintenance, part repair, software maintenance and engineering,” noted Air Force spokesman Ann Stefanek, and costs “are growing with the increase in flight hours.”
The Pentagon has plans to use the F-35 fighter through 2070, and it estimates that maintenance costs alone for the jet will top $1.1 trillion over that period. In other words, it’s expensive. The question is whether the F-35 is worth the ballooning cost. U.S. allies, who also have orders in for the fighter, are asking the same question. Stephen Lovegrove, Great Britain’s No. 2 civilian defense official, expressed his government’s frustration, telling reporters recently, “I am constantly being asked by parliamentarians in the UK what the total cost is going to be and they are sometimes, understandably, a bit frustrated when I have to tell them, ‘at the moment nobody is entirely sure.’”
It now appears that either the Air Force finds ways to significantly cut operational and support costs or the number of F-35s ordered will be cut. The same thing already happened to the F-22.
The real lesson here is that bureaucracy and cronyism don’t make for cost-effective measures. That’s true in health care, the financial sector, national security and pretty much everywhere else. The F-35 has been a two-decade boondoggle because it can’t be the jack-of-all-trades aircraft that Pentagon bureaucrats want it to be, and because Lockheed has no interest in providing a cheaper product when it can continue raking in government (read: taxpayer) dough. ~The Patriot Post
