The 79-year-old congressman not only attended and delivered a speech at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s annual conference on Sunday—Hoyer also took a not-so-subtle jab at freshman Democrats such as Rep. Ilhan Omar (D., Minn.) who have come under fire for repeatedly making anti-Semitic remarks. After declaring himself "proudly and unapologetically" supportive of Israel, Hoyer told the AIPAC audience: "When someone accuses American supporters of Israel of dual loyalty, I say: Accuse me … Let's have debates on policy instead of impugning the loyalty of Israel's supporters." Hoyer's comments appeared to be in reference to Rep. Omar's repeated suggestions that American supporters of Israel expect "allegiance" and "pledge support to a foreign country." Omar's remarks prompted Rep. Eliot Engel (D., N.Y.), chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, to request an apology for the "vile anti-Semitic slur." House Democratic leaders initially prepared a resolution to condemn Omar's anti-Semitic comments, but received pushback from rank-and-file members, including celebrity freshman Rep. commie-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.), which resulted in the resolution being expanded into a broad condemnation of all forms of "hate." Hoyer was stepping out of line with his party's base by even appearing at the AIPAC conference. "I’ve decided to retire from the sport formally known as “Mixed Martial Art” today,"... McGregor said. "I wish all my old colleagues well going forward in competition. I now join my former partners on this venture, already in retirement. Proper Pina Coladas on me fellas!" McGregor, who's from Ireland, is the former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion and one of the biggest draws in MMA. He returned to UFC last fall after a hiatus during which he made his boxing debut, a loss to Floyd Mayweather. The announcement came after the 30-year-old UFC star was arrested in Florida earlier Monday for allegedly smashing a fan's phone outside a hotel in Miami Beach, according to police. McGregor, who has not fought since early October, has garnered a reputation for his rowdy behavior. He was arrested last August for allegedly shattering the window of a bus that was filled with UFC fighters in New York City....

Political Editors: It’s getting harder and harder for Democrats to ignore the fact that there is an ongoing and growing crisis at the U.S. southern border. But they are still trying because they don’t want to concede that President Donald Trump is right, and that his demand for more border funding to build a wall in order to better secure the border is indeed needed. The question is, how much longer can Democrats deny reality?
In a 176-page report, the American Bar Association recently warned of an “existential crisis” that has reached “unprecedented levels” in the number of immigration cases clogging up the courts. The ABA notes that there are over one million backlogs in the immigration courts. The report states, “Crucially, the number of cases pending before the immigration courts (which were about 262,000 cases at the time of the 2010 Report) has increased to unprecedented levels. There were more than 760,000 pending cases at the end of FY 2018 and an additional 330,000 cases that could be returned to active dockets in short order.”
The report adds, “Today the immigration courts are facing an existential crisis. In light of the fundamentally changed nature of the threat to the immigration court system, the overall conclusion … is that the current system is irredeemably dysfunctional and on the brink of collapse.”
Furthermore, The Washington Times reports that “deportation officers are cutting loose more than 1,000 illegal immigrant family members a day, setting them free into border states as the surge of migrations overwhelms the government’s ability to handle them, officials revealed Thursday.”
Nathalie R. Asher, the acting executive associate director for ICE’s deportation division, noted, “The current crisis that is occurring at the southwest border, the numbers that we collectively as a nation are seeing … is absolutely unprecedented.”
