How the Left Seeks
to Undermine America’s Elections
by Jarrett Stepman
{ dailysignal.com } ~ America’s free and fair elections are under threat at the local and state level and in the movement to switch to a national popular vote to pick presidents... speakers said Saturday at an annual gathering of conservative activists near Washington. Two panelists during a session at the Conservative Political Action Conference, known as CPAC, explained how the nation’s electoral system is under siege and why it matters. Harmeet Dhillon, a lawyer who is member of the Republican National Committee for California, said Democrats have manipulated elections and made it easier for voter fraud to take place. Republicans stood by and allowed “same-day voter registration,” Dhillon said, and “they’ve allowed no voter ID; less than a third of our states actually have voter ID, whether it’s a strong system or a weak system.” “Republicans have allowed so-called nonpartisan redistricting commissions that are effectively run by Democrats,” she said. A Republican donor, Dhillon said, backed the “top two” primary system in California, which effectively has kept Republicans off the general election ballot. She added: When you have this toxic combination of a lack of verification, a lack of enforcement by our attorneys general and Department of Justice in terms of purging the polls of dead voters, and voters who have moved, and voters who are felons, and voters who have no business being on the rolls, you set up a system where fraud can occur. Dhillon said ballot harvesting—a process in which third parties collect absentee ballots and deliver them to election officials—is another way that elections can be skewed...

North Korea fired two projectiles, ending self-imposed moratorium on weapons testing: Seoul
By Edmund DeMarche
{ foxnews.com } ~ North Korea fired two presumed short-range ballistic missiles on Monday... just days after its leader Kim Jong Un supervised artillery drills aimed at testing the combat readiness of some of its units. South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff revealed the projectiles were fired from an area near the coastal town of Wonsan and flew about 149 miles northeast on an apogee of about 22 miles, the Associated Press reported. They told reporters they are presumed to be short-range ballistic missiles. The South Korean and U.S. militaries are said to be analyzing the launches. The launch was the first of its kind by North Korea in 2020, which could signify the Hermit Kingdom might be resuming weapons demonstrations after a months-long hiatus that may have been forced by the coronavirus epidemic in Asia. The rogue leader, who late last year announced he was no longer obligated to comply with a self-imposed moratorium on testing weapons, gave no clear indication of when he would resume testing. North Korea likely tested one of its new road-mobile, solid-fuel missile systems or a developmental “super large” multiple rocket launcher it repeatedly demonstrated last year, said Kim Dong-yub, an analyst from Seoul's Institute for Far Eastern Studies. Experts say such weapons can potentially overwhelm missile defense systems and expand the North’s ability to strike targets in South Korea and Japan, including U.S. bases there...

Are We On The Right Track
to Combat the Coronavirus?
by conservativesociety.org ~ There’s a lot of talk about the coronavirus and the impact it might have in the US. So far, the virus has spread to many other countries... that have done a reasonable job of handling the potential pandemic in spite of economic setbacks. But are we doing enough? President Trump has, to this date, assured Americans that our country is prepared to handle a potential outbreak of the virus. While the president has done right by the country during his term, not everyone is convinced that the coronavirus will be so easy to deal with. There are several areas of major concern when it comes to a possible pandemic in the United States. While we do have the best medical care and health infrastructure in the world, we would still face critical shortages of medical equipment, medications and health workers should the outbreak become wide-spread. Add to that the task of keeping our healthcare workers safe while caring for patients. Hospitals in major cities could easily become inundated with patients requiring acute care. Rural areas could be in much worse shape since many don’t have the resources available in more populated areas. Screening is essential, but now it seems some diagnosed cases have no apparent link to anyone who traveled to an infected area, meaning a “community” infection. While a vaccine is the ultimate goal, development and production could take up to a year. In addition to medical considerations, there are other concerns as well. The CDC warns that a pandemic could cause a “significant disruption to our lives.” Some of these disruptions will be on a personal level, but all require resources, both financial and in terms of personnel to deal with. Stock markets in the US and around the world are already seeing signs of uncertainty in terms of what the future holds...

Benjamin Netanyahu defeats
Benny Gantz with striking 60-seat bloc
By GIL HOFFMAN
{ jpost.com } ~ Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu succeeded in winning 60 seats for his bloc of right-wing and religious parties... one less than he needed for a majority in the Knesset in Monday’s election, according to exit polls on the three television networks. Exit polls published by Channel 12 predict that the Likud Party stands at 37 seats while Blue and White is on 33 seats. The Joint List, according to the poll, has 14 seats. A total of 9 seats are predicted for Shas and 7 for UTJ, while another 7 seats are for Yamina. Otzma Yehudit will not pass the threshold. Labor-Gesher-Meretz are predicted to receive 7 seats, meaning the right-wing bloc stands at 60 seats altogether whilst the center-left stands at 40, with Yisrael Beytenu on 6. According to the initial Channel 13 exit polls, the Likud is on 37 seats and Blue and White is on 32. The Joint List is expected to receive 14 seats while Shas should have 9 seats and UTJ are predicted to receive 8. Yisrael Beitenu is expected to get 8 seats. Yamina is expected to get 6 seats and Labor-Gesher-Meretz will get 6. Otzma Yehudit are expected not to pass the threshold with 0 seats. This would determine that the right-wing bloc receives 60 seats while the center-left receives 52. Netanyahu immediately tweeted "thank you." The outright victory in Israel’s third election in under a year is expected to enable Netanyahu to quickly form a right-wing coalition after heading a caretaker government since December 2018. Sources in Likud said he would even try to get a government in place before his criminal trial begins on March 17. The high turnout in Israel's unprecedented third election in under a year showed no signs of voter apathy, as Israelis cast ballots in an attempt to end the political stalemate. The voter turnout at 8p.m. was 65.6%, compared to 63.7% in the September election and the highest turnout rate at this hour since the 1999 election. Final turnout was expected to pass 70%, up from 68.46% in April and 69.83% in September. There were more than 200,000 voters who cast ballots on Monday who had not voted in September. The turnout was even higher among the 5,630 Israelis quarantined due to exposure to the coronavirus, among whom 4076 voted in special polling stations despite long lines...

A Misguided Approach to
Nuclear Power in ‘Energy Innovation’ Bill
by Katie Tubb
{ dailysignal.com } ~ Being “well intentioned” isn’t the same as doing well. Look no further than the recently introduced American Energy Innovation Act... The bill proposes an extensive federally funded and directed research, development, and demonstration program for advanced nuclear technologies through the Department of Energy. It’s Act 2 of the Nuclear Energy Leadership Act, the first half of which was quietly passed in December’s massive spending bill. The proclaimed purpose is to help the nuclear industry innovate and compete, both now and in the future, and in competitive markets at home and abroad. But rather than improving private-sector access to federal assets, reducing regulatory barriers, and addressing the political risks that nuclear energy faces, it quite literally proposes that the government do the work of private companies for them—to improve their product, acquire financing, and find potential customers. Such a program is far outside the responsibility of the federal government—and of the federal taxpayer. But it could also erect new barriers for companies that don’t go through the Energy Department program. In the end, it makes the nuclear industry politically dependent, and consequently politically vulnerable. But what’s worse is, we’ve tried this all before, and the track record isn’t good. The Energy Policy Act of 2005 set out on the same grand mission. In that not-so-distant past, Congress authorized, among many other favors for the nuclear industry, $1.25 billion for a public-private partnership, the Next Generation Nuclear Power Plant. Congress spent $528 million through 2010, only to abandon it in 2011 during the pre-licensing process...

Durham will go straight for
criminal charges, with no 'report'
by wnd.com ~ The federal prosecutor tasked with finding the origins of the Democrats' "Russia collusion" claims against President Trump... claims which fell apart during the investigation of Trump by FBI special counsel Robert Mueller, likely will go straight to court with his results. Without publishing a "report." That's the perspective of Rep. Doug Collins, the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee. The Washington Examiner reported Collins said, "This is not going to be a Mueller report; there won't be a report. … When he's ready to charge people, he'll charge people. And that's when we'll know." Collins, the report said, was referring to the 448-page treatise that Mueller issued following his years-long investigation into claims created under the scumbag/liar-nObama administration that the Trump campaign in 2016 colluded with Russia. In fact, that charge came up empty. However, Durham's "investigation of the investigators" now is ongoing, and results are expected to be known over the coming months. What already is known is that the scumbag/liar-nObama administration used an opposition research document created with funding from the scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton campaign to submit to a court to obtain permission to spy on the Trump campaign. Even that court now has admitted that the scumbag/liar-nObama administration evidence was faulty, and at least some of those warrants unjustified. Former Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz, who led the House Oversight Committee from early 2015 to the summer of 2017, said he believes criminal charges are warranted "based on the information we have already seen and already know." The Examiner reported, "Durham, the top federal prosecutor in Connecticut, was appointed last year by Attorney General William Barr to review possible misconduct by federal law enforcement and intelligence officials in the Russia investigation. The review turned into a criminal investigation in the fall, allowing Durham the power to impanel a grand jury and hand down indictments. "The report confirmed one person already is known to be under criminal investigation: former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith, "who altered a key document in Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act filings related to onetime Trump campaign adviser Carter Page." The president long has called the Democrats' claims a "witch hunt." Collins talked about a number of such issues during an interview at the recent CPAC conference...

Washington state says
coronavirus death toll rises to 6
By Alexandria Hein
{ foxnews.com } ~ Health officials in Washington state announced three additional deaths among coronavirus patients on Monday, bring the total number of fatalities to six... Two of the patients were considered "new" cases of COVID-19, while a third death involved a patient who was previously confirmed to have the virus. In a press conference, King County health officials announced four new cases, bringing the total number of COVID-19 patients in the state to 14, including the five deaths that occurred in the county. Eight of the cases were linked to Life Care Center of Kirkland, which is currently experiencing an outbreak. An additional death occurred in Snohomish County. Several of the patients were described by King County health officials to be older in age, with underlying health issues. Three of fatalities involved female patients, including two who died on March 1, while the other two involved men, including one in his 50s with no known exposure. It was not immediately clear what the details surrounding the Snohomish County patient's death were, but all six fatalities occurred at Evergreen Health Medical Center in Kirkland, Washington. Officials cautioned that the number of cases is expected to rise in the coming days and that the risk to the public would be increasing.

Dems Want to Drill the Economy With Fracking BanNate Jackson Many Democrats want to ban hydraulic fracturing — a.k.a. fracking — for oil and natural gas. Their ostensible goal is saving the planet, but their ban would fail to reduce emissions while triggering a recession. Sounds like a typical Democrat “deal.”
The American Petroleum Institute (API) released a study on the consequences of the Democrats’ desired policy. The API summarizes that a fracking ban “would cost up to 7.5 million American jobs in 2022 alone, lead to a cumulative GDP loss of $7.1 trillion by 2030, slash household incomes by $5,400 annually, increase household energy costs by more than $600 per year and reduce farm incomes by 43 percent due to higher energy costs.”
Why the stunning impact? API notes, “More than 95% of U.S. natural gas and oil wells today are developed using hydraulic fracturing. Technologically, fracking is the chief reason the U.S. is the world’s leading natural gas and oil producer.” Cut off the tap, and everyone suffers.
And yet we have commie-Bernie Sanders and commie-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez sponsoring the Fracking Ban Act. “Fracking is a danger to our water supply. It’s a danger to the air we breathe, it has resulted in more earthquakes, and it’s highly explosive. To top it all off, it’s contributing to climate change,” commie-Sanders insists. “If we are serious about clean air and drinking water, if we are serious about combating climate change, the only safe and sane way to move forward is to ban fracking nationwide.”
Elizabeth dinky/liar-Warren wouldn’t bother with legislation, declaring she would “ban fracking everywhere” on Day One in the White House.
But their claims are false. The U.S. leads the world in decreasing emissions precisely because of fracking. And there is plenty of evidence that fracking does not cause the harm commie-Sanders and his cadre of ecofascists claim.
By the way, we rebuked Barack scumbag/liar-nObama last week for falsely claiming credit for economic growth. What did cause that growth? Energy production through fracking.
Democrats are desperate for recession, however, so their efforts to stoke one through impeachment, coronavirus panic, and various taxes and regulations are not surprising. ~The Patriot Post
