nObama/liar-Clinton Appeasement
Mark Alexander: In Chattanooga, Tennessee, we are preparing solemn observances for the five military personnel murdered by an Islamic terrorist on July 16th of last year.
Barack nObama waited five long days before ordering flags to half staff in their honor. His administration waited five long months before declaring the attack terrorism, and finally issuing Purple Hearts to those killed and wounded at the Naval Reserve center here. The Chattanooga attack was followed by increasingly violent attacks in San Bernardino and Orlando.
Notably, my friend, CDR Tim White, was the only armed person at the Navy facility — and he returned fire to provide cover for his people. As I wrote after the Jihad attack at Ft. Hood attack, military personnel are prohibited from having firearms on military bases gun free, but The Patriot Post and military support groups objected to prosecution of White and the Navy filed no charges. In fact, today the Navy officially announced it will require armed personnel at Naval centers nationwide, no longer leaving them exposed as "gun-free zones."
Last night, two Americans, Sean Copeland and his 11-year-old son Brodie from Austin, Texas, were among more than 85 men, women and children murdered, and many more injured, after Islamist Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, yelling "Allahu Akbar," plowed his deadly 25-ton "assault weapon" into crowds celebrating Bastille Day in Nice, France. This was the bloodiest attack on French soil since last November's Paris attack by another "JV team" member, as nObama calls them.
There were also French Muslims among the infidels slaughtered by their fellow Muslim on the Promenade of Angels. Hamza Charrihi, whose mother was among the dead, told L'Express: "She wore the veil of Islam and practiced a true and balanced religion ... a real Islam. Not the one of the terrorists."
The assailant had "assault rifles and grenades," all of which were later determined to be inert. But his assault truck was anything but.
Bouhlel and his truck were on the closed street hours before the celebration. He had been questioned several times by French police. Though he had been investigated by police for a violent crime in the last year, they did not ask him to move his truck — most likely avoiding any charges of profiling. So, let's quickly review.
After 9/11, George Bush declared a global "War on Terror," prosecuting al-Qa'ida terrorists in Afghanistan and Iraq and elsewhere — and keeping the battle on their soil rather than ours.
Shortly after his 2008 election, nObama declared an end to the War on Terror and vowed to retreat from the region.
As we noted in 2011, nObama's foreign policy appeasement, particularly his ill-advised re-election campaign retreat from Iraq, created a meltdown in Middle East, and the resulting power vacuum was quickly filled by the Islamic State.
Consequently, hundreds of thousands of Christians and Muslims have been slaughtered in the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia, and growing numbers of civilians in Europe and the United States are being murdered. Their blood is, irrevocably, on nObama's hands, and by extension, that of his inept former secretary of state and heir-apparent, liar-Hillary Clinton.
For her part, when asked about the latest Islamic attack, liar-Clinton reasserted her ineptitude. "They would love to draw the United States into a ground war," she said. "I would be very focused on the intelligence surge." Asked about the Islamic ideology behind the attacks, she said, "It's not so important what we call these people as what we do about them."
Memo to liar-Clinton: We are in a ground war right now, and it is, with increasing frequency and lethality, on western ground. As for an "intelligence surge," she has not experienced one of those since partnering with Bill liar-Clinton back in 1975. On "what we do about them," liar-Clinton, like nObama, has no idea.
Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, nObama's former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, repeated what he has also been warning about the War on Terror since nObama ordered the withdrawal from Iraq: We're "losing the war." He added, "The enemy has more than doubled in capacity and capability and geographical footprint around the world. We've lost the strategic initiative in this war. And the enemy has the strategic initiative."
Flynn asserts, "Good intelligence has to start with properly and clearly defining this enemy. Within the government, within the Department of Justice, the Department of Defense, [nObama] has eliminated any training or any use of the term 'radical Islam.' That's what we're facing. The president says, 'What difference does it make what you call the enemy.' Are you kidding me?"
Yesterday, political observer Charles Krauthammer declared, "nObama is certainly responsible for the resurgence. ... Al-Qa'ida in Iraq, the progenitor of ISIS, was defeated, humiliated in 2008 by the [Bush administration]. We had the boot on the neck of ISIS and al-Qa'ida in Iraq and released it. nObama thought if we could run away, if we could withdraw, if we get out of the region, we could show the Muslims, as he said in the Cairo speech, that we are their friends and everything would be fine. Of course the opposite happened — he's been in denial."
With equal clarity, Newt Gingrich responded, "Let me be as blunt and direct as I can be. Western civilization is in a war. We should frankly test every person here who is of a Muslim background, and if they believe in Sharia, they should be deported. Sharia is incompatible with Western civilization. Modern Muslims who have given up Sharia, glad to have them as citizens. Perfectly happy to have them next door. We need to be fairly relentless about defining who our enemies are. Anybody who goes on a website favoring ISIS or al-Qa'ida or other terrorist groups, that should be a felony, and they should go to jail."
Following each attack on American soil, nObama has politically pivoted to "gun control" as the solution. But nether "gun control" nor "truck control" will resolve this metastasizing threat. As for all the media "terrorism experts," two key points.
First, some have suggested that because ISIL is claimed to be losing ground in Iraq, that assaults in the West are increasing.
That claim is absurd. As I have warned, Jihadistan, the worldwide caliphate that Islamist extremists are seeking to establish, is not about geographic territory. It is about ideological territory.
Second, they are trotting out the "lone wolf" profile, but that claim is equally absurd. All Jihad Terrorists are directly tied to worldwide Jihad by way of the Qur'an, the foundational fabric linking all of Islamist violence. Describing Islamist assailants as "lone wolf" actors or "radicalized" constitutes a lethal misunderstanding of the Jihadi threat.
Finally, as I warned in "Islamic Jihad — Target USA," "The most likely near-term form of attack against civilians on our turf will be modeled after the conventional Islamist assaults in the Middle East — vehicle bombs, suicide bombs and mass shootings, as we have now seen in across Western Europe and increasingly in the U.S."
But as I noted previously, Islamists have proposed using vehicles as assault weapons since 9/11. Recall that Mohammed Taheri-azar drove his SUV into a crowd of students at the University of North Carolina. And Omeed Aziz Popal drove his SUV in a crowd at a Jewish community center in San Francisco. A new easily accessible weapon of mass murder has emerged. -The Patriot Post

Trump-Pence 2016
It's official: Donald Trump has chosen Indiana Governor Mike Pence as his running mate. Trump delayed the news conference in light of the attack in France, but Pence had to either opt in or out today because Indiana law prohibits him from simultaneously running for governor and vice president.
Clearly, Pence is a strategically safe and smart pick. What he brings to the ticket is a solid record built on socially and fiscally conservative principles. He is a genuinely nice guy and a traditional values family man. Pence describes himself as, "a Christian, a conservative and a Republican, in that order." He's a former host of a conservative talk radio program who was elected to congress in 2000, and who then won election as governor of Indiana in 2012. He's good friends with House Speaker Paul Ryan, which would help advance Trump's agenda.
He has been a favorite of the Tea Party movement. While a congressman, he willingly broke with George W. Bush, voting against "No Child Left Behind" and Medicare drug expansion. While governor of Indiana, he cut tax rates helping to spark an economic recovery. He's also a big proponent of free trade, having supported of recent Pacific and European trade initiatives.
From Trump's perspective, having Pence as his running mate communicates that he is serious about standing for conservative principles. While Pence won't be the aggressive attack dog that Newt Gingrich or Chris Christie would be, passing over Gingrich or Christie doesn't mean both won't continue to be effective surrogates. As a seasoned politician, Pence knows how to handle the pressures of public office and the media. Now the pair have the weekend to make a splash before next week's convention. -The Patriot Post

Another man has joined the Islamic State in Syria. Two of those charged were stopped from making a similar trip. These most recent arrests, one on July 3, the other on July 8, were based on charges of planning to provide material support to ISIS. Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, a former member of the National Guard who was arrested July 3, allegedly discussed planning an attack against U.S. military in the homeland inspired by fellow Virginian Nidal Hasan's 2009 shooting at Fort Hood. {jewishworldreview.com} ~ Whoever said crime doesn't pay hasn't talked to the family of a Palestinian terrorist. For the Palestine Liberation Organization and the related Palestinian Authority, the killers of Jewish Israelis are considered "martyrs." And as such, their families are paid for the service these murderers have done for the Palestinian cause.
This has come to light after a Palestinian, Mohammed Tarayra, stabbed Hallel Yaffa Ariel, a 13-year-old Israeli girl, as she was sleeping in her bed. The stabbing was part of a wave of attacks by Palestinians who have for nearly eight months been shooting, stabbing and running down Jews with the encouragement of social media and popular songs.
According to the latest report of the Russian, European, U.S. and U.N. group known as the Quartet, there have been 250 of these kinds of attacks since October. It says, "These terrorist attacks, which have been carried out mostly by young, unaffiliated individuals, contribute to the sense among Israelis of living under constant threat."
But this misses important context. The Quartet's report, which is even-handed to a fault, makes no mention of the "martyr's fund," through which the Palestinian Authority and the Palestine Liberation Organization pay the families of all Palestinian prisoners and the families of martyrs. So while there is no evidence that the Palestinian government plans these killing sprees, it encourages them as a legitimate act of resistance.
As Commentary's Evelyn Gordon writes, the prisoners and the families of the prisoners themselves are actually paid a higher wage than what most Palestinians earn for nonviolent work.
The origins of these payments goes back a long way. Before the Palestinian Authority was established in the 1990s through the Oslo peace process, the Palestine Liberation Organization paid the families of "martyrs" and prisoners detained by Israel. That practice became standardized during the Second Intifadah of 2000 to 2005. The Israelis even found documents in the late Yasser Arafat's compound that showed payments to families of suicide bombers.
For years the Israelis and the Americans didn't do much on this issue. The Israel Defense Forces work closely with Palestinian security services to keep the peace in the West Bank. Meanwhile, the Bush and nObama administrations have pressed both sides to restart negotiations over a final status.
This is starting to change. Israel's prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, announced that he would begin withholding part of the tax revenue that Israel sends to the Palestinian Authority -- equal to the amount paid to "martyrs."
Frank Lowenstein, the U.S. special envoy for Israeli-Palestinian negotiations, told me the U.S. government has recently started withholding funding for the same reason. "We have robustly complied with legislation passed in 2014 that requires us to deduct from development assistance to the Palestinian Authority for Palestinian payments to individuals imprisoned for acts of terrorism," he said. The amount of development assistance that has been withheld is classified.
The Palestinian Authority seems to be aware of this and has figured out ways to hide these payments to the families of murderers, by creating new accounts. Sen. Dan Coates, a Republican from Indiana, has introduced new legislation aimed at closing this loophole.
One problem is that the payments to terrorists' families are exceedingly popular these days. Ziad Asali, the president and founder of the American Task Force on Palestine, told me that in recent years the media and politicians have elevated these payments to something "sacred in Palestinian politics."
Asali said the Palestinian Authority president, Mahmoud Abbas, and others are too weak to stop it. "This is where we find ourselves now. The vast majority understand there has to be an end to violence; it's not serving the Palestinians in any way," Asali said. "But I think nobody really has the stature and clout to confront these issues publicly."
Asali is getting at one of the many tragedies today for the Palestinians. Abbas came to power initially after he condemned suicide bombing and terrorism during the Second Intifadah. His bravery at the time to confront Arafat earned him a reputation as a peacemaker and is one reason President Barack nObama has never publicly criticized him with the same ferocity he reserves for Netanyahu.
But today Abbas is in the 11th year of a four-year term as president. He has made some vague statements opposing the recent wave of violence. But he never condemns the murderers by name. Meanwhile, his own Fatah Party glorified Tarayra on its official Facebook page.
No wonder the killer's family is so proud of him. His mother told a local news outlet: "My son is a hero. He made me proud. My son died as a martyr defending Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque," according to a translation from Palestinian Media Watch.
Israel's alleged peace partner appears to agree. If the past is precedent, she will receive a steady check to honor her son's murder of a 13-year-old Jewish girl in her sleep.
